Bush Pepper

Newquay Central, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
06/03/2020: Well worth a visit, we visited New Year’s Eve for a set menu. Food was different, well presented and very very tasty. We highly recommend a visit
02/03/2020: As we were in Newquay for the weekend and wanted to eat somewhere other than our hotel, we booked this based on the excellent reviews. It didn't disappoint as the food was delicious and a bit different. Service was also very good. Would recommend.

Croft 36

Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas nan Loch, Eilean Siar
21/12/2019: We were lucky enough to be staying in self-catering accommodation opposite the Croft 36 hut so we’re able to visit daily. Tried most things on offer during our two week stay and found that there was always something we fancied or could eat - a lot of dietary needs were catered for. The fresh bread was great and reminded us of village bread that we used to have in Turkey. However........the frangipane tarts were immense!! I am getting hunger pangs just writing about them!!It seemed very popular with cyclists who were regularly stopping off for soup, snack or drink to enjoy on the bench outside.A real treat, only a couple of minutes drive\cycle from the main road and on the way to the glorious group of Northton beaches.
19/10/2019: Visited your little shop this morning and bought a beautiful homemade loaf that was still hot from the oven. We drove back to Tarbert and our self-catering cottage and made ourselves some lovely tuna and cucumber sandwiches using your loaf. They were delicious. The best bread I’ve tasted for a very long time. Thank you. If we lived on Harris we would be buying a lot of your tasty bread!

Purslane Restaurant

Inverleith, Edinburgh, City of
11/03/2020: Very nice little restaurant. Just a few tables (less than 10 if I remember well) so it's recommended to book. Reasonably priced lunch menu.
09/03/2020: While the food was of a good standard there are quite a few negatives which has brought my rating down. Being sat on the table next to the door and the overflowing coat rack was uncomfortable and awkward. There simply should not be a table placed there. The waiters were flitting in and out of the door constantly which filled the restaurant with freezing cold air. The restaurant is too casual for fine dining.Being the last table to join, the waiters had mentally clocked off at that point, we were forgotten about, no one asked if we wanted to order wine, when we did order it, it didn’t come until after we had finished our mains! The waiter apologized and gave us a better bottle for the lower price but it was too little too late. The waiters didn’t tell me that there was no garlic mash.... the only reason I ordered the chicken! We visited for my birthday and my husband had to ask them to bring the cake out, they then brought spoons out before the cake, as such giving me a heads up it was on the way, no candles on the cake either! The haggis starter and the scallops were excellent, the presentation was beautiful. The main courses were ok. All in all, not one I’d revisit, there are plenty of excellent eating establishments that beat this.

Cafe Sapore

Hartburn, Stockton-on-Tees
20/03/2020: 4 of us visited and has the Tapas Menu. The deal is amazing value - 6 dishes and a bottle of wine for 36 pound per couple! The food was great, and the desert was delicious! Will definitely return soon.
15/03/2020: Everything was top notch, from the service to the food. Great selection of fine wines. Delicious food. Nice, friendly atmosphere. A hidden gem.

Caffi Gwynant

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd, <20£
09/03/2020: Wow we were camping up the road from this amazing location, we 1st called for coffee and cakes and they were so so good. The next day we called in for lunch, the food was stunning and the best flap jacks I have ever had, and the old chapel it is located in very nice indeed, can't wait to return.
09/03/2020: After a lovely walk from our cottage in Beddgelert to this cafe, we had a fab breakfast. The building is an old chapel, sensitively restored.Great coffee, and a very good veggie breakfast. The Glamorgan sausage was excellent, as was the homemade ketchup. I'd have bought a bottle of they sold them.

Fazenda Rodizio Bar & Grill

City Centre, Manchester, 30-45£
16/06/2020: Our favourite restaurant in Manchester in so many ways. Back again to celebrate my son's Birthday. The whole experience from being greeted ,taken to your table, the waiter was amazing very attentive . Food well.......just gorgeous, and a extensive drinks menu... pity I have to drive 80 miles home
30/03/2020: These guys know what they're doing, had THE most amazing dinner with some incredible cocktails. The venue looks stunning and the staff were lovely.

House of the Rising Sun

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, <20£
23/05/2020: Having visited a few years ago and really liked it we stopped off for lunch. Although busy we were seated straight away and we got water at the table within about a minute. Menu is really diverse with some fantastic dishes. Every course was delicious and the service was fantastic
23/03/2020: We had a lovely time last Saturday with 6 Friends. We arrived early so we had a drink downstairs first. The place is very modern and it had a great selection of drinks. We were then showed to the table, which was up stairs. The menu was fab and the service was really great. The flavours were amazing. A great place. We will be back.

Fazenda Rodizio Bar & Grill

City and Hunslet, Leeds, 30-45£
09/06/2020: Everything about this place is amazing. From the welcoming of all the staff. To the consideration of your seating choice. The food was fabulous and they made sure the meat was cooked to our different likings. They made sure every item was available within 5 minutes of asking. The taste is just wonderful. This was my dads first time and he has been back 3 times since!
07/05/2020: I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food was spectacular. Cooked to perfection and a great variety so you can eat meat however you like it cooked. The salad bar selection was out of this world and the flavours and quality of the food second to none. The service was excellent, with very polite waiting staff.Good wine menu and although it's slightly more expensive that the norm so is the food, atmosphere, experience and service. Well worth paying the money to visit this incredible restaurant.

The Palfrey

Arboretum, Derby
17/03/2020: Had a really nice dinner here. Food was lovely with the set meal. Good choice of unique cocktails, can recommend the 'you are my sunshine'! And the best bit was the service. Our waiter Adam, was so polite and friendly, really made a difference, thank you so much!
15/03/2020: We visited the Palfrey restaurant for the first time on a Saturday evening. We were greeted by a very pleasant female host and the service in general was efficient and unobtrusive. The kitchen staff surprised us the most; they overheard us enquiring about freshly squeezed orange juice and kombucha and provided us with both. I really  enjoyed the house made kombucha, which they use in one of their starters. The food was nice, my husband enjoyed his vegan meal. Our 3 year old loved the ham hock croquet. I had cod served on a bed of lentils for the main. Lentils were too salty for my taste but otherwise the dish was tasty. Having worked in a well known restaurant myself, I found myself constantly judging the customer service and recently I had too many unprofessional encounters. The Palfrey stood out for their excellent customer service. Thank you!

Grand Cafe

Bargate, Southampton
10/04/2020: The place inside is very cool, but we were 2 and were put in a very small table... I felt that doing an afternoon tea we didn't have enough space on the table and were afraid that something was going to drop, also that small space didn't make me feel very comfortable with people very close
17/03/2020: Beautiful venue and fabulous afternoon tea. We had afternoon tea here for a hen-party and it was absolutely brilliant.

The Boathouse Restaurant

Harbour, North Down
09/03/2020: We had the most wonderful meal at the Boat House for a friend's birthday. I loved the intimate, yet friendly and fun atmosphere, The whole experience was fantastic and the level of service was second to none, and made the whole experience very special. The tasting menu was superb, with both amazing flavors & textures, which catered for both the meat eaters and vegetarians in our party. Johnny looked after us fantastically well, and his knowledge and expertise of the extensive wine menu made for a superb wine pairing. I couldn’t recommend more highly!
03/03/2020: My husband, myself and four more booked to celebrate my birthday last weekend. I really had no idea what to expect so was thrilled at the sheer quality of food, wine and service. We opted for the tasting menu (which was expertly modified for two vegetarians in the group) and were not disappointed. Every course was sublime with delicious wines paired for flavour enhancement. I tried food I’d never even heard of before! My thanks to the whole Boat House team who made the whole experience exceptional from beginning to end. We will all return!

Viva Brazil

Cathays, Cardiff, 20-30£
19/03/2020: Really good dinning experience, the staff were really laid back and put you at ease. They explained the way it worked and the food was delicious. First place I'm going when the virus has done one xx
16/03/2020: Fantastic food with great service! Love coming here to eat, all the meats are fantastic along with the salad bar! Highly recommend coming here but don’t plan on doing anything afterwards as you will be too full!!

The Terrace Arts Cafe

Seaton, East Devon
13/03/2020: I was so glad this cafe was open on a very wet windy day. Inside was warm and full of work by local artists. A family run business meant friendly staff who were happy to chat and the home made food was delicious. I tried the beetroot and sweet potato soup which was very tasty and despite being filling I couldn’t resist trying a home made cake. Dietary requirements are well catered for including food intolerances and allergies. I would highly recommend this cafe and hoe on another visit it might be fine enough to sit outside and watch the sea.
04/03/2020: This cosy vegan/veggie restaurant provides very nice food, polite and friendly service, their attention to detail is very good. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Tintagel, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
19/03/2020: Incredibly well priced and delicious homemade food. I ate here for lunch and dinner every day it was open during my stay so that says enough about how good it is!
18/03/2020: We felt very lucky to find this little gem on a cold March evening, shortly after arriving in Tintagel. The owner/chef is fun with a great sense of humour and obvious passion for her food and message. 50% of the profits go to animal charities. This is not a formal setting, check yourself in a relax. Food didn't take long, was at a great price and beautiful. Lasagna was a particular hit. Everything we ate was mega. The portions are huge but as the food is all natural you feel full but not uncomfortable. We took our dessert to go and purchased her folder of recipes; our tip swiftly pointed toward a charity pot. Thank you!!! Can't wait to take those recipes home, from West to East coast. We will return.

Barbican Kitchen

St Peter and the Waterfront, Plymouth, 45-60£
23/02/2020: The Barbican Kitchen never disappoints, the food just keeps getting better under the great skill of Chris and James Tanner.Keep thinking about the Calves Liver which was amazing, together with my Wife’s Fish which was delicious !With great Service to match, Plymouth is blessed to have a Restaurant of this standard.
22/02/2020: Portions a bit small. My wife had pork -it was one mouthful. My desert was also small Service good Food tasted good A bit disappointed to be honest .
