The Jews House Restaurant

Carholme, Lincoln, 30-45£
05/12/2019: Food was delicious although a star is lost for the very small portion size, I'm not a big eater and could have definitely eaten more. Service was outstanding, and the wine recommendations were fantastic.
01/12/2019: Cannot fault anything. Food, staff, service all 5*. Thank you for a wonderful evening

The Bank

Bude South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
29/11/2019: See above! Warm welcome, amazing fresh food, great wine. Cool and casual, where they really know their stuff. Fab mix of local supplies meets Spanish flavour. Our regular favourite. What's not to like!
16/11/2019: Great selection of wonderful food, beautifully presented and so well cooked. The staff are superb even when it’s so busy. The menu is great and so varied. All washed down with a lovely sangria. A little touch of Spain with Cornish produce.

Sutherland House

Southwold and Reydon, Waveney
05/12/2019: Not as young as I was and a four hour drive is no longer as easy as it used to be so this was not just a sudden decision to visit. We were going to visit an elderly relative in Lowestoft which we do 3/4 times a year for a couple of days and a few months ago read a review about this place and decided that it sounded like the sort of place that we would enjoy; pleased to say that I wasn't wrong! So that I didn't have to climb stairs or climb into a bath for a shower, we booked the Garden Room which was a great space with a large bathroom and walk-in shower. The bonus with this room is the fenced, outside space with small, low table and chairs ideal for your morning cuppa in the sunshine in the spring/summer. The other big plus is the fresh milk in the fridge for your tea & coffee, so much better that the little pods of "long-life" milk. We stayed for two nights and dined in the restaurant on the Saturday night and have to say that we couldn't fault the meal or the ambience of the restaurant and the staff couldn't be faulted either. Breakfast on both mornings was freshly cooked and delivered to your table; non of this helping yourself to crisped bacon from under a heat lamp. Couple of other nice touches were the breakfast tea bags - a brand I had not heard of and a name I have forgotten - that was strong and flavoursome and the brown sauce at breakfast, very nice and a name I do remember and which will soon be in our cupboard. When visiting to stay, you need to remember that, although I noticed it has won awards as a hotel, it isn't a hotel, it is a excellent restaurant that has a few rooms that are rented out and providing you keep that in mind and don't expect full blown hotel services, you will not go wrong. Having said that, the owner is very friendly and helpful. The comment book in our room made interesting reading and made us smile: what sort of life must you lead to complain about the lack of a hook on the back of the 400 year old bathroom door; or there being no control over the heating even though the radiators have individual thermostat controls; or the need for nets at the glass doors so that you can get dressed without closing the curtains and putting the lights on? As I said, it's a restaurant with rooms not a hotel but it is a great place to eat and stay, you should try it, we will be back.
04/12/2019: My partner and I stayed here for a short 2 night break in December. The rooms are lovely and very clean. It’s in a great location, just a short walk from local shops and the seafront. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and they very kindly upgraded our room for free when we arrived which was a pleasant surprise! We also ate at the restaurant while we were there which was excellent. The menu is small but the food is amazing! Overall a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay in Southwold.

Cove Restaurant & Bar

Falmouth Boslowick, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
05/12/2019: We dined & had the beautifully sounding "2 courses for £16" offer ...
05/12/2019: Good food yet lacking in the pizazz you’d expect given the hype. For the price and considering it’s Christmas there wasn’t anything exciting about the dishes or atmosphere. Left a bit hungry and uninspired hence the 3 stars. Lovely calm environment better suited to romantic couples not work parties.

TJ's Restaurant

Roundham-with-Hyde, Torbay
20/11/2019: We ordered 3 starters to share as we couldn’t choose and they were all amazing. Then we had the lobster & sea bass. Which were also incredible. Would love to come again try the rest of the menu
12/11/2019: Not been for a while (it was tapas when I was last here!). Fantastic food, attentive staff and being able to bring the dog appreciated

Newlyn and Goonhavern, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
01/12/2019: We visited here as wanted a nice lunch overlooking the beach and allowed dogs. We were not disappointed, managed to get a table without booking and the view was fab. The place is very dog friendly, the waitresses all gave our dog some fuss.
03/11/2019: Booked for lunch & confirmed OK with dogs - certainly is!! Dogs very welcome at lunch & ours made friends with staff & other dogs. Seated overlooking sea & thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had a fresh white crab meat sandwich with a dressed salad garnish. Totally yummy if a bit pricey at £12.50 but then it was really good fresh crab.. My husband had the special of nachos with chilli beef & all the trimmings also yummy. All in all a nice relaxing, tasty lunchtime. Just what we wanted! We'll be back, poss. for afternoon tea which sounds good.

Champagne Charlie's

Central and Northgate, Great Yarmouth, 20-30£
27/11/2019: Really great tapas experience in Great Yarmouth. We don't usually venture into Great Yarmouth given the quality of whats on offer but Charlie's stand out as a real treat. The quality of the space is good clean tidy well presented and great atmosphere, the quality of the service was great. We were welcomes by the owner and introduced the waiter who explained how the all you can eat Taps worked and took our drinks orders. I was driving and only wanted tap water which was free of charge. Wide choice of drinks and good cocktail menu. The food arrived hot well cooked and seasoned and beautifully presented. The waiter was engaging, polite and informative, he was very engaging and authentic in his desire for us to have a great meal. The various dishes brought in threes were all very tasty especially the ribs, prawns, garlic mayonnaise clearly home made, grilled cheese, Spanish potatoes yummy to name but a few. The whole experience was great well priced at around £15 per head, thanks for a great night we will be back would make a great night with friends as the food lends its self to chatting and drinking.
20/10/2019: We are staying in yarmouth for a weekend as we collected the tickets for free tickets at the sealife centre. My wife searched for the best restaurants in yarmouth and this was in the top 3. I can see why , what an amazing eating experience. We were a family of 3 . It's a lovely quite clean open restaurant. We had the all you can eat for 15.95 a head and its excellent value. You order 6 dishes per round . The food is quick and of an excellent quality . We will most definitely eat here again. What I will stay is make sure you book way in advance as there was sign on the door that said fully booked this evening.

Porthmeor Cafe

St Ives North, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
30/11/2019: Popped into the Porthmeor Beach Cafe for lunch whilst visiting The Tate. I ordered the vintage cheddar tart with salad and my wife had some tapas. We also had some coffees. The coffees came out quickly, my cheddar tart came then arrived but we had to wait for my wife’s tapas. We were sat outside in one of the heated booths and we had to ask one of the waitresses to chase up the tapas order.
26/11/2019: The best staff - so friendly helpful and just lovely.

La farola

St Mary's, Islington
16/11/2019: We had a spectacularly good evening. The service was impeccable, the food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails and wine were perfect. I would recommend it without hesitation.
04/11/2019: Very expensive and portions are very very small. the service is bad..I don’t think I will go back there again.

Mango Thai Tapas

Bevois, Southampton, >100£
Me encantaría visitar aquí nuevamente.
25/11/2019: Podría escribir un artículo sobre lo bueno que fue todo, pero en cambio te digo esto: si vives en Southampton y sales a comer, solo ve allí. Simplemente comida divina. Prueba el menú de 26 set. Fue impecable.

Draper's Hall Restaurant

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 30-45£
05/12/2019: The best ‘it’s not the office’ party we’ve had in years! Superb food and charming attentive staff made for a fantastic evening for 18 friends.
01/12/2019: Having had our wedding reception at the Drapers Hall in 2018 (see photo), my wife and I decided to go back last night for a celebratory meal. What a lovely experience we had!

Kylesku Hotel Restaurant

North, West and Central Sutherland, Highland
06/12/2019: We were advised by old gentleman on a walk (a day earlier on our travel) to look for this hotel restaurant. We arrived a bit early for lunch, but were greeted warmly and had great food and service. Restaurant does fill up later in hour and we understand why.
10/11/2019: We had looked forward to eating here for a long time and promised ourselves a special lunch out as it’s quite costly. We both had Cullen Skink to start and I’m afraid it was well below average. Very thin and unremarkable for the huge price tag. The fish and chips was very good indeed. The beef burger, however, was dry and really nothing special. The views are superb and the whole experience was enjoyable but we were both fairly underwhelmed with the food and the service was a tad condescending.

The Barking Dog Restaurant Belfast

Botanic, Belfast, <20£
06/12/2019: We went to The Barking Dog on recommendation from our Airbnb hosts and weren’t disappointed. Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere/lighting/music - the staff were all lovely and really attentive and the food was fantastic.
04/12/2019: I booked a table here after reading the reviews, we were in Belfast to celebrate my partner’s birthday and we were not disappointed. Amazing food (the tapas was delicious!) in a cosy setting with plenty of ambience . The staff were friendly and service excellent.
