The Bank

Bude South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
29/12/2020: Love The Bank. Great choice of food. Plenty of gluten free options. Lovely flavours. Great service. Really like the pods. Felt very safe and extremely COVID compliant.
19/12/2020: Amazing food, cocktails and service! Really different to anywhere we have been before. Definitely recommend!!

Porthmeor Cafe

St Ives North, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
02/01/2021: The service at the restaurant was fabulous, with a wide range of lovely food and drink, I would highly recommend.
28/12/2020: A great place with a fabulous view. We were asked to track and trace and sanitise on entry - that was fine. The trouble was there was at least one table at least with 7 adults on the deck area. The waitress was happy to serve them. Whats the point of having track and trace and sanitiser if you are going to flaunt the rules - "6 inside or out"! Poor show by the holidaymakers in the group and the Porthmeor by not drawing their attention to the rules!

Sutherland House

Southwold and Reydon, Waveney
07/12/2020: This year had been one of the toughest for those in the hospitality industry but I can honestly say Sutherland House has shown that it is possible to come out even stronger. When it would be easy to just do the basics, the team go the extra mile to make sure guests feel welcome in some of the best COVID secure settings I have come across. Given the restrictions they have had to limit it to breakfast service for guests but we weren’t disappointed. The genuine interest and care for each guest was clear. Andy is a brilliant host and really helped to make our trip an enjoyable one! We will definitely be back and look forward to enjoying the rest of the food once they can open up fully again. If breakfast is anything to go by then it will be fantastic!
01/11/2020: We hesitate to post a less than totally positive review, as we are sure that everyone at Sutherland House is doing their best in very difficult times, BUT ........As a previous reviewer has mentioned, all eating establishments have had to adapt to Covid regulations, but most have managed to do it in a way where the customer still feels welcome & relatively relaxed. Sadly, last night we just ended up feeling like a massive inconvenience. That said, the food was good & there was nothing actually wrong with the service, but when they reopen after this next lockdown we hope they find a way of making sure everyone stays safe without feeling on edge & uncomfortable

The Jews House Restaurant

Carholme, Lincoln, 30-45£
14/02/2021: Having recently had a recent take away from Jews House - we have just had the 5 course Valentines Day Meal - instructions were easy to follow and meal was so tasty and well put together - we made it like a ‘meal out’ but at home (except I could pretend to take some of the credit) - really made it a special evening! If I was forced to make a criticism it would be the crab course needed some extra texture - but tasted beautiful- everything else was faultless! If you get a chance for a special take away before lockdown finishes - try this - a small amount of work at home but so worth it!
02/01/2021: A Christmas present from our Son and daughter-in-law. It was fabulous! What a treat in these dark times. Just heated it through and served it up. Delicious!

TJ's Restaurant

Roundham-with-Hyde, Torbay
11/12/2020: Beautiful food, generous portions and the friendliest, most conscientious service one could think of. Great value too for the amazing fresh fish on offer. I thoroughly recommend!
17/10/2020: Service very good. Starters of muscles and figs and calamari excellent..... Superb, delish all round. Main course Brixham Lobster for all, very average. Too many herbs over powers lobster flavour. Deserts amazing combo of 6 between 4. Choice of wine excellent but no gold tequila! £250 for 4 people not great value but just passable. However for ths money I would expect slightly more in terms of expertise in the area of the main course. I will go back but be a little more select in my choice of mains.

Mi Casa Su Casa

Bispham, Blackpool, 20-30£
03/11/2020: THE AREAOff the beautiful promenade, a little out of town but easily accessible via bus or tram. Usually plenty of parking spaces along the road too. On Red Bank Road, Bispham. THE BOOKINGI left a voicemail and a very nice person returned my call promptly and booked me in. Table for 2.THE WELCOMEWarm and welcoming. We got to choose our table. SOCIAL DISTANCINGExcellent measures in place. We felt incredibly safe.THE STAFF AND A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO JOHNEveryone was absolutely lovely. Our waiter John helped us to decide on which tapas to go for (we wanted them all as they all sounded amazing). Not only was John friendly (not overly) and efficient, but he went the extra mile. What came over to us is how happy the staff are in their jobs. You don't always find this!THE DECORA simple Spanish tapas syle. Nice background music too. Pristine clean. Glasses hanging up were sparkling as were the mirrors in the drinks area.THE MENUSpoilt for choice. Specials board too. A cabinet filled with scrumptious homemade desserts. THE FOODWe love tapas. Lots of variety. We shared 5 different dishes, all amazing. As my title says, this is world class tapas. Well presented and very tasty.Chicken in a cream and garlic sauceSalmon teriniyaki Garlic mushrooms on toastMonk fishGreen beans with garlic, chilli, pine nuts and onionQuality ingredients My husband had the carrot cake and his face spoke a 1000 words. Delicious.HOUSE WINEWe enjoyed a lovely (and cheapest on menu) rjioca. A good selection of wines etc. available. THE PRICESVery reasonable. You could make it a very cheap night out if you wanted to. Dishes from under £5!We loved it here so much we bought gift vouchers for family members which speaks volumes.Highly recommended. We will be back.
27/10/2020: I have been here countless times and it’s our go-to restaurant. I have never, ever, been able to fault the food or the staff. Only ever maybe once I waited a little longer for food however I did not mind as the food was so fresh and piping hot! The staff, Ramiro and Johnny are so amazing, I just couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Kylesku Hotel Restaurant

North, West and Central Sutherland, Highland
06/11/2020: Wrote a well informed detailed review of this restaurant, but ended up posting it on their hotel section by accident. Please read as it was hands down absolutely perfect!! Worth a visit when driving around the west coast. Staff are well informed with their dishes and their drinks and will make sure your experience while with them is the best. Hope you get as lovely of a day that we had. But with a fire burner I can only imagine it can be cozy when it’s pouring rain outside. Thanks for everything kylesku staff and stay safe!!
05/11/2020: Really agree with other favourable reviews. Delicious lunch and good wine list. Great view over the water. Service friendly & professional. Covid arrangements effective and well managed. We didn't find many good places to eat. If you are on the NC 500, don't miss this one!

Champagne Charlie's

Central and Northgate, Great Yarmouth, 20-30£
29/01/2021: Sorry this review is late, but Charlie's is definitely worth a visit. The staff were so welcoming and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.
01/11/2020: Excellent food, and a great selection of drink. The staff are lovely and very attentive. Will definitely go back.

Trent Bridge, Rushcliffe
11/03/2021: Tempted by the churros on the sign outside we decided to try a takeaway the other Friday, we have become stuck in a takeaway rut so wanted to broaden our horizons ! We ordered a good selection of dishes and we were really wowed, both by the packaging (very neat little cardboard boxes all labelled so no guessing games !) and the food itself was all delicious ... ive learnt in future im not sharing the chicken wings ! Best ive ever had. Im having a box to myself next time ! And the churros also excellent - no sharing there either ! Cant wait to do another order ! Many thanks, Andrea
15/02/2021: We have used escabeche several times so I know that they are good however our recent experiences have been incredible. My slightly technophobe Mother ordered us gift vouchers for Christmas online, had a few issues/questions, within the hour of ordering she had an email from a lady called Heather who sorted her straight out and as promised vouchers arrived 2 days later. My Mother said out of all her xmas shopping it was by far the easiest so a massive Thank you to Heather! With the horrible situation we are in we couldn't wait to use the vouchers so called up and spoke to Lucy who assured us we could use these on takeaway and boy are we glad we did. Food arrived hot and yummy and it was just as good as if we had eaten in the restaurant. We have since ordered several times and always has been as good.Just want to say that however horrible this situation is you are doing an exceptional job and from the team at the front to the kitchen team you are all amazing!! We will continue to support you and we hope others do too!THANK YOU!!

The High Pavement Evening Cafe

Frome Market, Mendip
29/11/2020: Beautiful food last night from the high pavement. Full of flavours - as delicious always. Thank you.
21/11/2020: Had the most delicious takeaway tonight. The flavours were absolutely amazing, a great combination and beautifully presented. Sensibly priced and more than enough portion size. Loved that the containers were all environmentally friendly and will definitely be ordering again. Yum 😋

The Cedar tree

Milnrow and Newhey, Rochdale
25/10/2020: Really enjoyed our food and family time today, it’s sound daft but in the strange world we are living in getting time to turn off phones, well turn them off ish and have a chat can proove difficult. Thanks to the cedar tree and the relaxed safe atmosphere we had a brilliant family meal, although I’m not sure the deserts were needed, all struggling to move now. Thanks to team for excellent service and great food see you again soonThe Kendall’s #kidsenjoyed #parentsenjoyed
25/10/2020: We visited last Wednesday for the first time and were really impressed. Warm welcome and great food and service. Staff were all very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Cafe Miro

Central, Herefordshire, County of
01/11/2020: Welcoming and helpful staff. Quick and good service. The food was good too. We went for breakfast and I would definitely recommend the poached eggs and crispy bacon. My son didn’t quite eat his cooked breakfast which you can see in this picture minus the mushroom which I ate for him!

Hotham, Arun
05/12/2020: Birthday meal for our girls. We ordered the tapas banquet & it was lovely. 20 different dishes including mussels, prawns, chicken, pork, patatas bravas, spinach.....amazing. Home made banoffee pie & pistachio ice cream for dessert.....highly recommend, thank you Sen x
01/11/2020: Our first visit but not our last. We were the first diners for the evening service and were given a warm welcome. The restaurant was busy by the time we left but we were impressed by the consistent Covid precautions taking place - all staff wearing masks, tables cleaned, menus cleaned with sanitiser after each use, plenty of hand sanitiser available, temperatures taken as diners arrived and contact details requested. We felt very safe and comfortable with plenty of space between us and other diners. The food was lovely, we went for a range of traditional Spanish tapas dishes, including delicious fabada. The chef got everything spot on - we want to return (post lockdown of course) to work our way through the menu! Good choice of drinks with acceptable house wines and such joy, Estrella 1906 reserva by the bottle. The staff were lovely, service was great, an all round lovely evening.

Poco Bristol

Cabot, Bristol, City of
08/03/2021: We absolutely love it here! Our favourite place to go mid week, end of week, lockdown and not lockdown. The food is sooo good. Always changing and always cooked perfectly. If you’re in bristol it’s the place to go.The ambiance inside is lovely and the staff are really nice. Also their Portuguese potatoes are to die for so make sure you get those.
06/03/2021: We live a few miles from Bristol outside the range of any delivery services, however I wanted something for a special occasion. Whenever I've been to Poco the food has been delicious, so I was delighted to see this was an option.I collected the food Friday lunchtime and we prepared it together that night. Even with my meagre abilities it all turned out delicious - especially once I looked at the gallery of images Lovely booze too!
