Champagne Charlie's in Great Yarmouth

This is a really great place to eat for all occasions. I went with my family and there were many different options including delicious options for vegans/vegetarians. The staff are so friendly and helpful and there is a lovely calm atmosphere. 100% recommend. Probably best food I have ever had!

We hadn't been to a Tapas bar for years and decided to give Charlie's a visit. Do not be deceived by the outside, inside the restaurant is lovely and the décor what you would expect in a Tapas bar. We phoned at about 5pm to book a table for 7pm but this could not be accommodated until 7.30 which was fine and as Sharon - the owner, said to us that they do not want to rush people with their food and do not want to overcrowd the restaurant so everyone in a group gets served together. The food looked amazing a good selection of dishes, there is only one chef (Sharon's partner) in the kitchen so they ensure orders can be dealt with efficiently as in our case we ordered six dishes and wanted them together. Whilst we were waiting we were served complimentary bread and dipping oil whilst we had a drink. When the food arrived it was beautiful , really hot and flavoursome and plenty for two of us and pricewise extremely reasonable. Sharon and the waitress ( I think her name was Emma) were really lovely and took time to explain dishes if we were unsure. I highly recommend Charlie's and will definitely return next time we are in Gt Yarmouth, although I do advise booking.

Called in last minute and was advised there could be a little delay. There wasn't really. Staff were lovely food was delicious and various options to get the best deal for your table. Definitely recommend

Great place good value, better tapas than Spain. Lots of offers fizz Friday £12 and deals of 8 tapas £36 for example but sometimes even cheaper xx

So we were staying local and I knew this place was here but being on the Main Street you presume it’s going to be tourist tucker, (well,it is kinda ). Having tried the Shed in gorleston of which I found terrible in my view , I love tapas and to eat here was the highlight of the weekend , the staff were friendly , food came quickly , im sure some won’t find it so,great , I don’t give 5 stars very often , so it’s purely measurable on value for money , quality, atmosphere and staff , Hope to see you all again with my friends

Wow, nothing out of the norm but a super sharing meal Boccarones, (whitebait) calamari el Greco, a good patatas bravas, garlic prawns, and more, good service the young lady waiter efficient & attentive. we chatted to the next table and they come twice a year on breaks, I think it may be our new ritual visit on visits here OH! I for got the churros a nice end & as we had the sharing menu a nice present! well done, tip left!

What a great place to have dinner.On arrival you are made to feel welcome and not hurried in any way.They do a set meal where you chose 3 dishes which you have with your bread and dip then chose another 2 and if you really like one of them you can choose to have another plate of that or like us chose to swop for a dessert as we were full up. Everyone of our choices were first class from garlicky prawns to pork belly in a bbq sauce peppers with cheese or simply fresh fried calamari were first class.They also do very reasonably cocktails but we opted for a couple of bottles of dry white wine which were excellent.Well worth a visit.

Delicious tapas and excellent value for money. Charlie's doesn't look much from the outside, and you could easily walk past and not notice it. We saw it as one of the top rated in Yarmouth, so booked a table and, having now eaten there, it is clear that is well-deserved We selected six dishes for £25 and ordered an extra dish on top, which was plenty for two of us. The chilli and garlic prawns and the potato and chorizo gratin were probably our favourites, but everything else was incredibly tasty too. Even though we'd had plenty between us, we couldn't resist the churros biscoff so the mini portion is a good option on the menu for those that want to finish with something sweet. The team that work there were great, asking if it was our first visit there, then explaining the menu. Nothing was too much trouble, and the service was quick without feeling as though we were being rushed. Overall, I would highly recommend

Wonderful Tapas, Superb, We are amazed that you can get Tapas in Great Yarmouth which are as better than the Tapas jn San Sebastian or the Boquera in Barcelona. The service was excellent, the chef was a lovely guy who spoke to us. This was a real food experience. THANK YOU.

Went here while on holiday with my husband and daughters. They are picky eaters so this was perfect as we just ordered lots of dishes and they could pick what they wanted. The food was lovely and I was very surprised that my girls tried things that they never had before. Lovely staff, good service and value for money.

OMG if you are ever in Great Yarmouth and like tapas then this is the place for you. The food was absolutely amazing, my favourite was the mushrooms in cream and sherry sauce although it was all amazing. We had nine dishes four cocktails and two pints of larger and it came to £62. We opted for the 3,2,1 option savouring the prawns, pork, meatballs, peppers, mushrooms, in fact the list was endless and the food was of a fabulous standard. Came here a few weeks ago with my wife, was not impressed considering the reviews, our experience was not very good, staff in desperate need of customer service training, half the menu not available and the food was substandard, very bland and nothing exciting, the most flavourful thing was the bread and garlic butter, unfortunately we felt let down by our experience and will not be returning.I'm sure we will have a response from the manager saying how wrong our experience was and disagreeing but unfortunately what we experienced and how we felt is our opinion and we didn't go out looking for a bad experience.

On holiday in Great Yarmouth 2 weeks ago and ate here twice. Everything we ordered was delicious and nothing was wasted. It's easy to understand why you need to book ahead with food this good. The staff are very attentive but not intrusive and the lady in charge took time to have a word with all of the diners and made them feel very welcome. On learning that one of our party was gluten intolerant they provided a gluten-free ciabatta so that she could enjoy the aioli dip.Highly recommended.

What can I say other than absolutely perfect. I found Charlie’s while pre holiday stalking tripadvisor. And thought it was definitely worth a try . Pre booked well in advance . Looked forward to it for weeks and definitely lived up to its reputation. Staff are lovely. The 3.2.1 all you can eat is genius. No food waste . Plenty to choose from and all very tasty . Sangria is a must . And cocktails really good value . And good selection of mocktails . By far the highlight of our week in Yarmouth . If it wasn’t 200 miles away I would be a regular. Worth every penny.

Went for the 3-2-1 menu, a jug of sangria and wasn’t disappointed. All was cooked and served really nicely.After our 12th portion, we just had room to share a lemon meringue sundae, finished off with a couple of ‘shots’Great Yarmouth is lucky to have Charlies.

My partner treated me to a meal here for my birthday. The service was great, everything explained well and we we told to enjoy our food and take our time. The food was all excellent and plentiful ( we had to leave out the final dish of the 3,2,1 ! ) Tables were well spaced with gaps left. We saw tables, chairs and menus being thoroughly cleaned after guests left. If we return to Great Yarmouth we will certainly eat here again. Glad we had booked as they were full the night we visited.

I have never experienced anything as rude. Decided to give the resturant a try but after arriving at the door, was left for over 5-6 minutes with the staff just standing around and starring into space. Tried to get someone’s attention but was completely ignored. Shocking service.

Went for a 3,2,1 option for £18 per person. First round’s dishes were good (except for prawns which were so over cooked). Potatoes and pork dishes were very nice indeed. Plenty to choose from on the menu (including for vegetarian daughter) and the service was very good. Interior felt a little more like a seaside cafe than a restaurant but I suppose that is what it is. Worth giving it a go if you like tapas.

Lovely selection of food. As a hungry family of 4 we went for the 3-2-1 option and we’re thoroughly stuffed by the end. Every mouthful of every dish was great. The staff were extremely attentive and did not rush us at all which was a godsend. Our second visit and will definitely be returning.
