The HiVe Cafe

Melcombe Regis, Weymouth and Portland
15/10/2019: We visited on a Sunday and had a choice of Roast options and several other delicious meals. I had falafel- lovely, and my Husband had a roast with Broccoli/ Cauliflower Cheese. It all looked beautiful fresh and tasted wonderful. There was a great selection of cakes too. I recommend booking as they were full.
10/10/2019: Visited The Hive for lunch today and were blown away by the quality of the food! I had the Mezze platter and my partner had the veggie burger. Both were large portions and extremely tasty. There was a large selection of sweet treats which we couldn’t leave without testing too. The Dorset apple cake and honey cake (made with their own honey) were divine. Lovely formerly staff. This is a fantastic little cafe which we will definitely be returning to.

Zoo Cafe

Newland, Kingston upon Hull, City of
20/10/2019: Been to this wonderful place for 1st time today. Brilliant food, friendly staff & a stylish laid back atmosphere.
13/10/2019: We planned a party menu with Russ at Zoo. He very carefully worked around food allergies and planned delivery to ensure the food would be at its best.

Quince & Medlar

All Saints, Allerdale, >100£
13/10/2019: We had a delicious meal in this delightful restaurant on Saturday - we being one vegetarian and three carnivores. We all enjoyed the food and the house red. Would highly recommend the poached pear and ginger cheese, the parsnip and cashew plank and the ginger and orange torte. Shame we live in Wales - it's a long way to go to relive the experience.
14/09/2019: We had a lovely beautifully prepared vegetarian meal which was perfectly rounded off with a dark chocolate, orange and ginger torte.

Ilminster, South Somerset
08/10/2019: Popped in for a late lunch/early tea, and had wonderful meal plus home-baked cakes! Friendly, personal service and great
06/10/2019: Delicious, filling, every mouthful a treat! Interesting place to look around too as it was also Somerset Arts week.

Seeds 2

Totnes Town, South Hams
13/10/2019: My wife and I love Totnes - and Seeds 2 pretty well captures the feeling of the place. At lunchtime, various vegetarian salads are on display in large antique bowls, together with three or four hot dishes (eg veg bake, macaroni cheese, lentil dhal). Rules of the place - pick up a plate and try any or all of the dishes on offer; you can refill your plate as often as you like, but no sharing and no leftovers allowed. Fair enough (I wonder if this concept would work back in Wolvo?). All for £7.95 each - easily the best value meal we had on our holiday in overpriced Devon. Oh, and the food was delicious. If only I could make veggie food that tasty for myself at home...
09/10/2019: A good price for vegetarian buffet. Everything seemed fresh and well prepared. People were friendly and helpful

Hinnies Restaurant

Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, 20-30£
14/10/2019: Didn’t meet my expectations. Fish had bones in it.. don’t normally get this in other restaurants. Table was too small for the party size, there was no need, room in the restaurant. Nice environment, food just Average,
21/09/2019: Delicious food, well presented and great service by Rick and ashleigh. Will Defo come here again if in the area, rather a long way from Manchester!!

OakTree Vegetarian Bistro

Chalkwell, Southend-on-Sea, <20£
18/10/2019: Probably the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. We visited with friends who are both Vegan. They were visiting and we wanted to to take them to lunch in an appropriate restaurant that would cater to their dietry needs.
05/10/2019: A lovely restaurant with beautiful decor, nice, friendly staff, great atmosphere and superb vegan food. It was worth 20 mile drive to visit this restaurant. I can't wait to go again. I ate from the 'junk food' side of the menu (as I can't usually have hot dogs etc). Next time I'll try a pasta dish.

The Green Almond

Meads, Eastbourne, 20-30£
21/10/2019: My aunt & uncle took me to this lovely place for three lunches recently. The food was consistently delicious, with well chosen variety. Instead of ordering from a menu, you choose a plate size (the "small" plate will be more than enough) and pick your food from a buffet. There is a hot item and quite a number of cold ones. They do interesting salads, with not a shred of cheap lettuce in sight. The exception to this is the deserts, which are chosen from a menu. It is obviously a very popular place, so you do need reservations.
¡Gracias!

Cafe Roya

Beeston North, Broxtowe
21/10/2019: Visiting family in Nottingham I pre- booked Cafe Roya and I'm so glad we did.
20/10/2019: Looking for really good vegan/vegetarian food in the Nottingham area, we stumbled on this lovely little cafe. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday - on the strength of it, we booked a Christmas party with friends!!

The Good Earth

Wells Central, Mendip
28/09/2019: Have eaten here before and am delighted to say it was up to standard. It is really busy at lunch times, and so you might need to share a table.
26/09/2019: My husband and I enjoyed a lunch for the first time in this cafe. the only problem is we live in the north of England and can't visit as often as we would like as the food was amazing and at a very fair price. Thank to all who work at the cafe for providing us with such a tasty meal. African stew and Shepard pie, both were delicious as we shared each dish. we also shared cake with coffee which was lovely and coffee was fairly priced. We will make a point of passing again sometime in the future.

The Waiting Room

Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees
04/10/2019: Went out for a family meal and we were not disappointed. Fantastic food with amazing flavours and some interesting twists on typical dishes. Our waitress was lovely throughout the evening and the whole place has a lovely relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
12/09/2019: Vegetarian restaurant that specifically does not state vegan options, neither on website nor on the actual menu, claiming that many of the options can be made vegan. Not the case. We were offered 2 options, wondering why we bothered going there. Weatherspoons have more vegan options. Service wasnt great. They sat us on the walkway, despite having only 1 customer, they have forgotten about the side dish and were not particularly welcoming. The food was ok, albeit somewhat bland, tabuleh served with the dish was cold. It was the second time we went there, not impressed both times. Wanted to give it a second chance, now thinking the last one. Wouldn't really recommend, especially if you are vegan.

St David's, Exeter, >100£
20/10/2019: nice veggie restaurant in the heart of Exeter. Really friendly staff who provide great service.... Wide menu and the food was of good quality.... I would return again and again....
16/10/2019: Ordered the pulled jack fruit wrap and it was very tasty. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the staff were really nice

Poppo Goblin

Shaftesbury, Belfast
29/08/2019: Called in for a quick lunch when we arrived to the Premier Inn next door. SO impressed with the menu which included a number of original and vegetarian options but the stand out feature is the staff, particularly the lady who served us - such a warm welcome, helpful and a credit to the place. Needless to say, we went back for breakfast and will do so again tomorrow. A delight to find this place and highly recommended.
23/08/2019: We needed somewhere to hang out for a bit. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was fresh and delicious. 100% reccomended.

Greens Restaurant - Didsbury

Didsbury West, Manchester, 20-30£
17/10/2019: On a Monday evening the restaurant was busy which tells you that either Greens is a very good restaurant, or there are almost no vegetarian restaurants in the Manchester area, or possibly both! Certainly, the menu is innovative and be warned that the portion sizes - particularly of the starters - are large; we were almost full after eating them! The crispy black pudding with rice and lentils was excellent, but the coated halloumi buffalo wings were so salty I couldn't eat them. My friend, who likes her food salty, commented they were too salty even for her and we should have sent them back. Mains - and the soba noodle salad was absolutely delicious but again, the cubes of tofu that came with it were just too salty. The spinach, pistachio and feta filo pie was not to my taste - one mouthful was really sweet and the next was salty. Pudding - the lemon tart was absolutely delicious with tangy lemon curd and crispy pastry - very good indeed. So I left Greens with mixed feelings about the food. If you don't add salt to your food normally, then probably ask that the chef doesn't oversalt your dishes.
09/10/2019: We had a gorgeous reasonably priced lunch here for my birthday! Fantastic vegetarian and vegan food! Will definitely return

Harbour House Cafe

Westville and Alvington, South Hams
10/09/2019: Went as a family of 4, whilst on holiday. Absolutely adorable place. Gorgeous setting with books and crannies - a seating area over the gallery, cosy tables, delightful garden.
08/08/2019: We found this place on the happy cow app as it is vegetarian cafe but whatever your taste it is a lovely calm place. We were too late for lunch so just had tea and cake but it was good well presented food and drink. My friend had the vegan shortbread, I was skeptical but I tried it and it tasted buttery! My tea came with a proper China cup and teapot. I will definetly bring friends here next time I visit kingsbridge, the garden is an oasis!
