Hinnies Restaurant

Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, 20-30£
13/10/2020: We were attracted to Hinnies as it seemed 'different ' but also had visited one of the other restaurants in the group. The Covid19 Safeguards were effectively managed & adhered to throughout, by the lone front of house member of staff. He managed a juggling act of several tables with good humour & professionalism. The menu choices were different and care was shown to assist with specific dietary requirements. The seafood & fish soup was delicious & a very filling starter. I had Pan Hagerty with a poached duck egg, served with roasted vegetables and was delighted with it. My companion said that the pan fried cod, with sauerkraut, potatoes & parsnip puree was very tasty. We were too full to try the very tempting desserts With a couple of glasses of wine & a soft drink, the bill was very reasonable. Give Hinnies a try if you're in Whitley Bay or nearby.
12/10/2020: What a lovely restaurant, the staff were great and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend this little gem in the mist of a rundown Whitley bay promenade.

Cafe Roya

Beeston North, Broxtowe
17/09/2020: We went to celebrate our daughter's promotion. It was the best vegetarian meal that I have had and among the best meals of any kind that I have eaten. Everything was tasty and well-presented and it is a nice change to have pea shoots, instead of rocket. I didn't recognise the brand of cider, but I enjoyed that too. Go there for a treat/celebration.
11/09/2020: The lunch we had this week was happy food. It looked a delight and tasted even better I shall be back yum

OakTree Vegetarian Bistro

Chalkwell, Southend-on-Sea, <20£
08/11/2020: Very impressed with here and have now visited three times over the last few months and really enjoy it.Being completely vegan, I’m always of the opinion it will be healthy and boring - but this is stodgy and filling and comfort food which is the best! The place has been a little empty when we’ve been - which can lack atmosphere, BUT on having the back room to ourselves they young team said we could have music on and kindly set it up for us.The team are lovely and friendly but didn’t really know the menu or answers to questions, but who cares when the food is good and we have google!Mac and cheese is like being taken to heaven and then put into a food coma. The burgers are always amazing. The chicken katsu is divine, the only thing I’m not a fan on were the chicken lollipops, but that’s my taste, but the nasigoreng rice is the real deal. I could order this and only this forever more.
25/10/2020: Terrible, overpriced food and very little social distancing. Avoid like the plague...much better places within walking distance in Leigh

The HiVe Cafe

Melcombe Regis, Weymouth and Portland
08/09/2020: We came to the Hive Cafe after it was recommended to us by a family member before lockdown. When walked to the cafe it seemed very busy. Advised it was outdoor seating but what we actually found was a handful of outdoor seats and a lot of marquee/enclosed gazebo seating. The cafe had placed seating/picnic bench outside the main door one way system and people sat there with no masks on. They were unavoidable because this was the only way in! So couldn’t socially distance. The staff did not wear masks!! They were going from table to table serving customers and not washing their hands between them. It was shocking! The cafe said they were adhering to COVID precaution guidelines but this seemed to be a tick box exercise. We decided to go for take away to avoid this awful situation.Their menu is massively over priced - £18 for a large fish and chips which was no bigger than the kids portion of fish and chips and this was greatly over priced too!! The food was tasty but not worth the money or the risk.Never eat here again!

The Mayor's Cafe

Poplar, Nuneaton and Bedworth
22/10/2020: Having eaten here twice now (today being the latest, with my daughter-in-law and young grandaughter), both times the food, service & value for money have been exemplary - we are so lucky to have such a lovely cafe to eat & drink within Miners Welfare Park, Bedworth. This place is a real gem and if you haven't tried it yet, do........the meal of the day is published for the whole week in advance but of course you can have whatever you like from the menu. It is a wholly vegetarian menu but never have veggy meals tasted so good, with the majority of ingredients being home grown on site and picked on the day.The chef and staff are always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, which makes for such an enjoyable experience.........note to self.......must visit more often! So......well done to all the staff, especially the head chef who obviously take a real pride in providing quality, enjoyable food and long may the cafe continue to thrive.PS: children's meals are free (not sure up to what age) but this is an added bonus if you visit with young children. Also, it felt very COVID19 safe, as much as it can be.
15/10/2020: In my role as a Personal Assistant I often visit the café with my client, and when I have the time, I try to get across to eat with my wife (it’s the only vegetarian menu she will enjoy). As always the food was excellent, particularly this week with pumpkin on the menu. Richard and his team have outdone themselves today. Keep up the excellent work.

Quince & Medlar

All Saints, Allerdale, >100£
25/10/2020: A real treat to dine at the Quince and Medlar last night, the food and the service were faultless, I particularly enjoyed the main course - this has to be one of the nicest things I have eaten. Thank you for w lovely evening. I would defiantly recommend the restaurant.

Ilminster, South Somerset

West End, City of London,Westminster
15/10/2020: Table service was great but unfortunately got food poisoning. I ordered the Kiri Hodi which tasted really good and there was lots of it but felt really hot straight after and was really aggressively sick about 20 minutes later.

The Green Almond

Meads, Eastbourne, 20-30£
13/11/2020: Their Vegan lunch boxes are amazing. Good portion sizes, great value & packed with flavour! Also their Avocado, Mango & Pineapple cheesecake is to die for! Thank you Green Almond.
07/11/2020: Tired of having the same salad every day, we thought we would try Wednesday's menu at the Green Almond. I rang through the order and it was waiting for me. The falafels and salad were both superb and there was ample for both my husband and me. So we decided to try the "eat for later" curry on Saturday and we weren't disappointed. The curry was really tasty and again there was ample for two, with our own vegetables and cauliflower rice. We will definitely come again!

The Good Earth

Wells Central, Mendip
10/10/2020: The restaurant is coping very well with the covid restrictions eccentricities. Good prompt and friendly service. Lovely food, and generous portions - we eat here whenever we come to Wells for the day-we will be back!
04/10/2020: Super top notch home cooked vegetarian food that is well seasoned and very tasty. we had the baked potato, salads (tasty not bland), tart etc, Highly recommended and very homely interior with plenty of space in the various rooms to find a table.

St David's, Exeter, >100£
28/10/2020: I came here for the first time on a Tuesday lunchtime with a friend. I did book, just to be on the safe side. It's not a very big place and by the sounds of it, there are even less tables at the moment due to covid restrictions. It had a nice vibe on entry and I was kindly welcomed by the staff member. I opted for the buddha bowl as it sounded fantastic. At £10.75, I thought it was a little steep for what is essentially a glorified salad, but I was very wrong. The portion was HUGE! I washed it down with a pink lemonade. My friend went for the curry on the specials board - forgive me, I can't remember what it was but she said it was delicious! The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is because the service was a little slow - not necessarily in bringing out the food but paying the bill. Access to the restaurant is ok for wheelchairs and buggies (although it's a single door, so worth checking width). However, the toilets are down quite a steep flight of stairs. I will definitely be coming back here as there is a whole host of things I want to try from the menu. I'll be bringing my Mum and sister at some point, who are also both vegetrians.
23/10/2020: waitress, the lady with dark hair and glasses made me feel unwelcomed right from the start and she barely smiled the whole time that I was there. Food was average but in a good portion size. Coffee was not hot

Seeds 2

Totnes Town, South Hams
04/11/2020: Absolutely delicious Vegetarian/Vegan cafe (I'm neither Vegetarian nor Vegan and still always opt for Seeds 2!) - amazing selection of options and so full of flavour. Their garlic sauce is quite simply INCREDIBLE!Eat In or Take Away options available and they're very comfortable with you going up for extra should you want it, but urge you not to waste food (and rightly so!)
24/10/2020: Very friendly and patient staff, as we selected our combination's of saviour and sweet plus takeaway hot drinks.Such a grand selection, we ordered and collected our food, and then the drinks were brought to us from the main sister cafe across the road.Delicious vegan/vegetarian brioche style buns, enormous piece of cinnamon bun and hot chocolate drinks.Great value for money, a real gem of a place and I'm not a vegetarian or Vegan- delicious- 5 stars.

Koriander Indian Takeaway

Tutbury and Outwoods, East Staffordshire
12/11/2020: Had a very good takeaway for a family with unusual diets of no dairy and no gluten, including vegetarian. Very good food, interesting and tasty. Staff friendly and happy to adjust dishes as it came suited us. It was very good.
05/10/2020: Great service - decided to try a curry from here as the Sunar Gow kept missing items from my order and the rude manager who prefers to tell lies than fix a problem. The food from Koriander was very good and tasty. I would recommend the chicken jalfrazi

Harbour House Cafe

Westville and Alvington, South Hams
13/09/2020: Beautiful place to eat, both inside and out. Immaculately clean and socially distanced so feels very safe. We met friends for lunch, coffee and cake on their recommendation. The lunch menu and cake options were fantastic - the Mezze and Buddha bowl veggie/vegan options we chose were absolutely delicious and big portions. The staff were lovely and friendly. Its not always easy to find such fantastic vegan.veggie food but this place is outstanding, We'd recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and service and especially if you're looking for excellent vegan/veggie options. We will certainly be back next time we visit the area.
31/08/2020: What a lovely little find. After a long drive for our stay in Kingsbridge we came across this place to eat and it was exactly what we needed. Friendly service and great food. I had the frittata and my partner had the tart, both great portions with a lovely salad and focaccia bread, we will be back! :)

Zoo Cafe

Newland, Kingston upon Hull, City of
20/10/2020: I’ve visited zoo many times since the current owners took over a few years ago and I have to say I have always been warmly welcomed, eaten delicious, fresh and interesting food and have enjoyed the lovely surroundings that have clearly had a lot of thought and effort put into making it a nice place to be. I visited today for breakfast and had the most delicious Brie and fresh fig toasted panini with a side of their usual fresh and tasty salad. The staff were still their friendly selves even with the current restrictions, hand sanitiser, social distancing and track and trace firmly in place, but not taking away from the lovely relaxed atmosphere! Thanks for my ace brunch! Xx
13/10/2020: Visited here on Tuesday lunch and wasn’t expecting it to be quite so busy. We had a little wait for a table but could have sat outside if the weather had been better. Very quirky place with a lovely vibe. My 2 daughters are vegan so we choose here as read the good reviews and they have been before but I’m not vegan yet the choice was still great. I had the quiche- huge slice with slaw, grains salad and crisps. Absolutely gorgeous. The others all had a variation of breakfasts and were all really pleased. The service was great in fact nothing negative at all to say. Well done owners, chefs and staff. Keep up the good work. A hidden gem
