Earth Cafe

City Centre, Manchester

Totnes Town, South Hams, 20-30£
27/09/2020: How wonderful to find a vegetarian restaurant with delicious options and amazing salads. We had a mushroom strudel and a spinach and chickpea korma. Both requally tasty and filling. You should have seen the slice of mushroom strudel, it was very generous.I will definitely be back next time I am in Totnes.
23/09/2020: Very wholesome food. Friendly service & lovely outside area. Got a table without booking. Would definitely go again

Greens Restaurant - Didsbury

Didsbury West, Manchester, 20-30£
03/10/2020: Been wanting to try this place for a while and so glad we got round to sampling this wonderful eatery. We booked late and could only get a 5.15 sitting. Bit early I thought but it was full from the opening. Great atmosphere from the off. I can honestly say that every dish we had had so much flavour. Being vegan for 10 months and loving it, Simon and his staff know their stuff. We have absolutely no complaints but only praise. Cannot wait to bring my family and friends here soon. Thanks for making my wife and I smile. Even though we had masks on entering and leaving. Lol!
14/09/2020: This is my favourite restaurant in Manchester. Always delicious. My favourites are the black pudding, halloumi buffalo and feta filo pie. The cocktails are also amazing. 10/10 every time. Thank you.

Ulverston Town, South Lakeland
24/09/2020: The scones came warm served with a choice of homemade strawberry or raspberry jam and clotted cream. My daughter had a specialist tea which was very good. Dogs allowed to and all covid rules followed.
22/09/2020: I visited for lunch and was served what can only be described as a perfect plate of comfort food, perfect for a damp and somewhat chilly September afternoon. Homemade tomato and basil soup with a toasted cheese sandwich. Great value, safe-feeling service and comfortable surroundings (the forecast even blazing).

The Waiting Room

Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees
23/09/2020: Lovely atmosphere, room well lit and spacious with quality wooden tables and mis-matched chairs. A great selection of drinks, including organic, draft beers, locally sourced. Matched by a seasonal menu of starters, mains and desserts with at least six choices of each, interesting recipes including curry and salads. Often hard to choose! A great place for a special meal or a quiet evening. The WR also have regular live music and comedy events. It is conveniently situated near the station and with free on street parking. 'The Other Room' next door is their bar, of similar high quality. The WR is definitely our restaurant of choice, even though we live out of the area, it's always worth the trip.
30/08/2020: We love vegetarian restaurants so were keen to try out The Waiting Room. After trying to get a table and a number of occasions, which finally managed to get one for one evening. We tried a number of starters including salad and vegetarian pâté. We both ordered a vegetable curry. The food was very nice, the tables were well spaced so we felt safe visiting even on a busy evening.

The Gate Hammersmith

Hammersmith Broadway, Hammersmith and Fulham, 45-60£

Combe Martin, North Devon
08/10/2020: Grass roots restaurant was recommended to us (visiting area) and we were not disappointed. Four of us had a different choice in the starters, main course and pudding from the bistro menu and all was home made and delicious. The waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. We all had a very enjoyable evening and would certainly visit again.(shame we do not live closer)
02/10/2020: Obviously a popular eatery on Ilfracombe High Street (aka "Short Hours Street"), where the competition isn't very strong. The menu is rather good - they seem to have more imagination and skill than most of the High Street. We popped in for a late lunch but the kitchen had shut quite early. Looked a nice and interesting place but they weren't cooking. The staff seemed a bit abrupt; might have been an off day, it happens. Can't comment further because we didn't stay long, although the place looks comfortable. Long before Covid-19 you'd struggle to get a warm welcome and a good choice of healthy food in the afternoon at 3PM , anywhere in Ilfracombe. Come to think of it, anywhere in North Devon really. This is why Wetherspoons thrives.

Riverside Organic Farm Cafe

Davenham and Moulton, Cheshire West and Chester
08/08/2020: A working farm with a really lovely shop. Lovely views and a great place to enjoy an ice cream. The farm shop has some very interesting foods and of course there's always the superb organic meats etc. Highly recommended.

Cathedrals, Southwark

Good Earth Restaurant

Castle, Leicester
21/09/2020: We called in for lunch last week. The food was excellent and there were several different vegan options available. The staff were very friendly and were constantly cleaning and wiping down surfaces which was very reassuring. The atmosphere was very welcoming and we can't wait to go back
07/09/2020: I'd known about this place for a while, and I'm happy I finally decided to have lunch there. I was positively impressed with the courtesy and the kindness of the people who work there, and, considering the circumstances, I was happy to see their commitment and attention to the safety measurements that are in place due to covid. They say the menu is less varied than than the usual, however, they still offer a very good variety of food. I was satisfied with the drink - a glass of very good home-made lemon juice - and the food - broccoli leek and cheese pie. My only suggestion is to substitute the bread that comes with the pie with something lighter within the price of the dish. Maybe a small portion of green salad. I would eat there again.

Caudwell Mill Craft Centre Cafe

Stanton, Derbyshire Dales
24/09/2020: We visited the mill and craft centre and stopped by the cafe for afternoon tea and cake. I had carrot cake (always my favourite choice) and husband chose the lemon cake. The carrot cake was verging on the stale, heavy and very stodgy. The lemon cake wasn't much better; and at c£2.75 per slice, we really wished we hadn't bothered. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient. They have made good provision for keeping customers safe, with screens between the tables and a simple but effective track and trace system.Other customers looked as though they were enjoying their food. Probably the savouries would be a better choice.
22/09/2020: We arrived mid-afternoon after a walk round Stanton Moor. The welcome was friendly and it was clear that much thought has been given to the Covid procedures. We chose the sourdough rolls with choice of filling served with a large, very imaginative and delicious salad. We have been wary of going into cafes and restaurants these last few months but, here, we were made to feel totally safe with each table separated by a high perspex screen and all the windows open.

Moorish Falafel Bar

Mancroft, Norwich
25/08/2020: Honestly, the best falafel I've ever had. I've had a lot of falafel. The range of fillings on offer are all so delicious, I have never had a bad meal here. Also very reasonably priced, and available on deliveroo! One thing, guys, please chill with the red cabbage. Last time, about 60% of my Pitta was filled with the stuff. I come here for the falafel, not to fart for weeks on end afterwards!
24/07/2020: Despite what tripadvisor listing suggests, they are open for business - at least they are open now. Just had The Mexican. Can’t fault. Great stop for lunch.

The Star Anise Arts Cafe

Central, Stroud
30/08/2020: I love this place. Have been a regular here for over ten years and it never disappoints. It can get busy (because it is so popular) and the relaxed eco-veggie atmosphere might not suit everyone but the food is always excellent- freshly cooked- and everyone is welcome.

The Rowan Tree

Bridlington South, East Riding of Yorkshire, <20£
13/09/2020: I found the Wish Cat Café on Google whilst searching for places to eat in Bridlington that serve vegan and vegetarian food. After reading the reviews, all of which are very positive, I decided I would have lunch there with my mum. The décor is absolutely charming, with a cat theme throughout, which is never a bad thing because, let's face it, cats are the best. Mum and I both had the vegan meatballs with rice and a salad garnish. They were excellent! Really nice, rich tomato sauce, and the meatballs themselves had a wonderful flavour and texture, leaving us both comfortably full from the generous portions. The prices are reasonable, and the staff extremely welcoming and friendly. I will certainly be a regular visitor from now on. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
21/08/2020: Popped in here today for a spot of lunch. Nice clean little cafe which also offered a vegan and gluten free choice if that’s your thing. Friendly serving staff and good size portions of food. Reasonably priced too Would recommend this place. COVID compliant too.

The Green Grocers

Nelson, Norwich
26/08/2020: Spent the whole day here and it was wonderful. Staff were lovely, food was delicious and smoothies were 10/10!
