Fantastic experience. A plate full of healthy, delicious creations. Every salad was exceptional and the dressings made it all zing! Would definitely go again when next in Totnes. Recommended.

What an amazing find, so much variety and freshness, the staff were really friendly and informative. We walked passed a lot a pasty shops which looked very tasty but we were craving something packed with goodness yet flavoursome. Heading up the high street we stumbled on Seed 2, what a great place. We paid £11.99 each for a limitless salad plate which also included lentil dahl, macaroni cheese and Chinese style noodles plus olives and stuffed vine leaves, exceptional! We had two plates and even took a small box away for a drive back home which was a huge welcome from the services. Would 100% return.

Amazing selection of salads with hot and cold extras. Great value as you can go back to top up your plate. Quirky interior that is spotless with very friendly staff. The place was buzzing, that speaks volumes about Seeds 👍 It was so good we even bought a take away box. Will be back

Amazing food, really wholesome, tasty and imaginative. Everything was bursting with flavour! We were warmly welcomed as soon as we stepped in and thoroughly enjoyed everything we had. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend.

This was only our second visit but will not be returning, dal was very dull,pasta was soggy. Three of the salads were cabbage very very disappointing and tasteless. But the worst thing was a visit to the toilets which had cobwebs everywhere and black mould on the walls and ceiling, they are in need of serious deep clean.

Great little vegetarian / vegan cage. Had been following them in Facebook for a while and finally made the trip, wasn't at all disappointed. The food was great. It was tasty, varied and healthy. Wish I could go here for lunch every day!!

If you are visiting Totnes, this is a must go to for a tasteful lunch of great value. We stopped at the bakery and was immediately intrigued by the beautiful display of pastries, salads and sandwiches. I had a slice of their pizza and a cardamom bun which were very flavoursome and felt right at home sat by the bakery contemplating life.

Delicious range of salads and good size portions available. Everything was vegan apart from a mac and cheese option. Great to take away and eat in a nice spot in Totnes.

The most amazing little salad buffet place! Wish there were more places like this in the world, it's a treat to visit, so tasty and such lovely staff, I am new to the area but its safe to say its one of my new favourite places, I will be back again and again :)

Whilst I count myself as a carnivore, fish, vegetables and fresh fruit feature heavily in what I like to think as my “balanced diet” so I was not fazed to join my wife and two friends at Seeds 2 for a vegetarian lunch. Wow, what a great place place to eat. Being a Saturday lunchtime it was busy, however we were made welcome and seating was soon available. The procedures for accessing food and payment was clearly explained and then we had access to bowls of pulses, salads, olives, vegetables, pasta and potatoes, all beautifully prepared and well presented. If you had the room you could go back for more, but I didn’t see many customers take on that challenge. Would we go back next time we are in Totnes, too right we will. Fabulous.

We’d been recommended to try Seeds 2 by friends who live in Totnes. The whole experience was lovely. Really friendly, helpful staff, fantastic food at very good prices. A choice of 3 hot dishes plus numerous salads and dressings to accompany them. Added bonus is that it’s a buffet and you can refill your plate. Pleasing to see the clean plates all around. Recommend the stuffed vine leaves and the, not salty, black olives especially. This lunch was well worth the effort we made in coming from Somerset. Definitely returning.

The food had so much flavour and was so fresh. Its a great idea and such good value. The staff we're all so lovely and welcoming. We will definitely return here on our next trip.

We stopped in Totnes to meet a friend and selected Seeds 2 for lunch. There were three hot dishes and a wide selection of salad dishes. You pay for a plate and can go back for more ! Friendly staff, good food and highly recommended. Would be very happy to stop there again.

Just been for lunch here with a friend. Have been blown away by the food. All utterly delicious. I am stuffed but feel very virtuous as most of it was a variety of salads (not just a bunch of lettuce) The mac &cheese was awesome, dahl lovely and noodles scrumptious. A return trip for lunch at Seeds 2 and this time bringing a friend for lunch to eat in this time. Was delighted to be able say again how fab it was ,the food was awesome the staff again were super friendly.....a new must go to for my friend and very confident that I will return ....Best venue for lunch by far in lovely Totnes.....and just fantastic!!!

This is now our 'go-to' place for lunch in Totnes. Excellent and vary varied vegetarian / vegan buffet where you can have as much or as little as you like.

I’ve been to totnes many times and hadn’t noticed this restaurant until I saw it advertised on social media. So glad I paid attention and decided to give it a go! The food was amazing - I loved all 3 hot dishes; noodles, daal and macaroni cheese. There was also a great range of salads and the quinoa one was particularly good. The price is really reasonable and it makes for a great value lunch. The staff were friendly and it was understandably very busy. They managed to squeeze us in but others did have to wait for tables - although it’s definitely worth it!

Often stop for a coffee when visiting Totnes on farmers' market day. Outside only during extended lockdown hysteria. Hospitality has been thrown under a bus. Grab a table and chairs on the pavement in the sunshine and enjoy their range of absolutely delicious and lush savouries or soup of the day. Lovely team.

Friendly welcome, rustic but clean - good choice of vegetarian dishes (some hot: noodles, dahl, macaroni cheese) and a variety of salads, olives, dolmades - as many as you like. Buffet-style but generous portions served by the staff because of current restrictions. Fixed charge - £10 - welcome to go back for seconds (can't imagine anyone needing thirds!). Cakes and drinks extra. I particularly liked the dahl and the noodles and the focaccia bread. Nothing I didn't like (I didn't try the macaroni cheese because I know I don't like that).A good experience - even for convinced carnivores!

The most tasty food you can imagine. When I explain to friends and family about a salad restaurant I love they laugh because I don’t eat salad. But everything tastes divine. It’s not possible to eat here within making mmm and yum noises. And absolute must visit restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful and follow all the COVID guidelines to the letter. Absolutely delicious Vegetarian/Vegan cafe (I'm neither Vegetarian nor Vegan and still always opt for Seeds 2!) - amazing selection of options and so full of flavour. Their garlic sauce is quite simply INCREDIBLE!Eat In or Take Away options available and they're very comfortable with you going up for extra should you want it, but urge you not to waste food (and rightly so!)

Very friendly and patient staff, as we selected our combination's of saviour and sweet plus takeaway hot drinks.Such a grand selection, we ordered and collected our food, and then the drinks were brought to us from the main sister cafe across the road.Delicious vegan/vegetarian brioche style buns, enormous piece of cinnamon bun and hot chocolate drinks.Great value for money, a real gem of a place and I'm not a vegetarian or Vegan- delicious- 5 stars.

This place has to be worth a visit when going to Totnes. Great food, great vibe, great coffee. Lovely people and such a safe environment in these times. Great work by all there. (You must have the mac and cheese!)

Called in for a cuppa and bite to eat, all fine except when we asked for our food (savoury tarts) to be heated up they said they couldn't as ovens had been turned off!! It was about 2 o'clock. Seemed a bit odd, not the service you would expect in this day & age! Coffee & food all very tasty

Meeting a friend for lunch phoned to be told no bookings taken and not needed for a party of 2 anyway. As it was a nice day and we had a dog we took a table on the street between the cafe and the bakery (under shelter). We got plates piled with a bit of everything on offer and could have gone back for more but were very satisfied with our delicious varied platter. Highly recommended

So many good places to eat in Totnes. This place has top rating, so a lot to live up to. Despite CV restrictions this place is friendly, good value and most important excellent food . It deserves its top rating. Also no plastic plates or cutlery that other places are resorting to for no good reason. thank you for an excellent meal

This is a vegetarian buffet with loads of choice. There are lots of different salad based options, along with hot options such as macaroni cheese, dal and noodles, and accompaniments like bread, samosas etc. You pick whatever you want and they serve it for you. They encourage no waste so ask only for what you think you can definitely eat, but you are allowed to go up for free plate refills! This sounded great to me, but I was so full after one plate I couldn't do it! The food was wholesome and delicious. Would definitely go here regularly if I lived in the area!

Loved this place! Variety of vegetarian mains and salads to choose from (I think it is usually self serve buffet style but during these times the staff serve for you from behind a screen). Food was so good and felt very comfortable eating alone here

Seeds was recommended to me during a recent visit to Totnes so I thought it would be a good place to visit for lunch with my vegetarian friend. The food was excellent quality and there was plenty of it. You can expect to share your table when it gets busier so bear that in mind if you’re looking for a more intimate dining experience.

Really good quality, healthy salads - but don't go because i don't want too many people to know about this place !

All you can eat salad buffet with such flavorful sauces. The price just went up to £8.95 recently. No time limit. There are also hot choices such as roasted potatoes, squash, cream pasta and one oven dish baked with cheese on top which had different ingredients respectively on my 2 visits.Each salad bowl has variety of vegetables and beans with western or oriental dressing. There were 4 different dips(seems to be home made)for bread which was very nice. We ordered small latte after meal and loved their coffee beans so much....extra nutty not overly bitter and burnt. Market car park is right behind the restaurant since there is no free street parking space in front.

We've been here twice for lunch recently and not been disappointed.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a slight risk of cross contamination as it is a self serve café.There are usually a couple of hot dishes eg potato wedges, roasted vegetables and a Dahl. I've been told the macaroni cheese is delicious, but not GF so I couldn't try.The range is salads are amazing and so tasty. The idea is to try a little bit of the items you like the look of and go up as many times as you like.

Really healthy filling food and lots of it... One of us went back for another plate so full the food was in danger cascading. Okay its not gourmet but that's not the idea, and its a fun experience with good food. Basically you help yourself but they will bring over coffee (not bad at all) and are genuinely friendly people.We had everything on our plates, pasta, vegetable and some salad plus whatever looked good - and it all did. Great on a cold day or if you are poor and hungry. Did I mention it was vegetarian? Loads of choice and loads of salad - all great! and very cheap - way under £10 a head. I just remembered, you should be prepared to share a table.

Had a lovely lunch here with a colleague, it my first time there, my colleague had been here many times before and was sure that I would like it. They were right, what a lovely relaxed place to eat I’d have a coffee. The array of food for the help yourself meals made it hard to choose which to have, but as you could fill your own plate I was able to try a little of everything. I believe that there is a hot and cold choice of foods everyday in this day I had the cold foods this day with lots of fresh salady dishes.The coffee was very nice as well. I did return for coffee and cake another time while I was at totnes. Thank you to the staff at seeds2 for your friendly service and tastey food.

I had a mocha coffee and have to say it is probably the nicest one that I have ever had. Although we didn't eat there, the food looked good, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

A friend and I came for lunch - she'd been before, but I hadn't. I loved the easy-going, help-yourself ethos: share a table, grab a plate, help yourself to as much/little as you want, maybe make a new acquaintance, and pay the fixed price of £7.95 before you leave. Hot drinks, home-made bottled drinks and cookies etc are extra.

As always, great food with a varied selection that is never less than tasty. What marred the experience for me is the fact that it was difficult to get around, it was cramped to the point of being claustrophobic. I made the mistake of having a salad followed by a hot second course. Having to climb over my fellow diners, who had piled their plates high straight away, was not a pleasant experience. It made me feel guilty. Great value but it is so cramped and noisy that you are disinclined to linger.

and do not take more than you can eat. Seeds philosophy. Don't be put off if you are carnivore. I do not suffer from vegetarianism but the 19 options here are absolutely delicious. £7.95 a plate and go back for more if you have the space. Good coffee and cakes. LGBT friendly.

My wife and I love Totnes - and Seeds 2 pretty well captures the feeling of the place. At lunchtime, various vegetarian salads are on display in large antique bowls, together with three or four hot dishes (eg veg bake, macaroni cheese, lentil dhal). Rules of the place - pick up a plate and try any or all of the dishes on offer; you can refill your plate as often as you like, but no sharing and no leftovers allowed. Fair enough (I wonder if this concept would work back in Wolvo?). All for £7.95 each - easily the best value meal we had on our holiday in overpriced Devon. Oh, and the food was delicious. If only I could make veggie food that tasty for myself at home...

As a general rule I try to avoid vegetables wherever possible. I had read the reviews on this restaurant and decided that I would give it a try. There were three hot options, fresh bread and at least eight salads to choose from. I loved it so much that I went back for seconds and would have returned the next day if I wasn’t carrying my suitcase as it is up the hill from the bus stop.

Great fresh food with loads of different flavors and textures. Great value at £7.95 and a really relaxed atmosphere. Also a £4.50 small takeaway if your rushing about is super healthy and plenty big enough.

All you can eat of very healthy food for £7.95 obviously prepared and organised with love is such a fantastic concept - despite the 'shabby chic' furniture there's a sense of abundance and generosity. And so far I have not seen one miserable face in there. Most people have a bit of a smile on their face. Quite an extraordinary place...

This place is incredibly good value. A great variety of Fresh healthy salads and always a couple of hot dishes. There are dressings available to make your meal how you want it too.

Great range of buffet-style vegetarian salads for a very reasonable price-can also takeaway. OK coffee and tea. Good and extensive range of giant cookies. Dog friendly outside. Seating inside and outside on the pavement.

Went for lunch with 5 friends on a very wet Friday and were made to feel very welcome. You choose either a large or small plate (£7.95 or £4.95), and help yourself to the gorgeous array of dishes. Roasted veg, dahl, salads, dips, couscous, pasta, olives, bread, probably forgotten something, and you are invited to go back for more, but to avoid waste. Water is provided, but you pay extra for other drinks. A friendly atmosphere and very obviously a popular choice for lunch. Thoroughly recommended.

This was our second visit on yet another gloriously sunny Saturday Market day. The food is just fantastic and the welcome by the very engaging team is faultless. We just love the atmosphere and the opportunity to chat with other customers. This time we met a lovely little fellow, 5 months old, with his mum and dad, and a lovely lady from Newton Abbot. I'd left my sweat shirt following breakfast and was pleased to get it back at lunchtime. Thank you for spotting it and keeping it for me. We will be back.

A cafe that definitely lives up to its Tripadvisor reviews. Salads were really tasty and inventive and at £7.95 fantastic value and some hot food available on the buffet too. A vegetarian and vegan buffet feast that you can go up again if you've not had enough the first time round. Notices on just putting on your plate what you can eat rather than wasting any food. Lovely homemade ginger beer too. An honour system operates and you just say what you have had at the the till when leaving. Would definitely return when next in the area.

First visit to this establishment. Sat outside with egg mayo filled pitta and coffee. Very good, pitta sandwich with ample fillings, though not true pitta-this wasn't a problem. Very good coffee and obviously dog friendly outside on the street

Great find and we're still wondering why we've missed it til now ... £7.95 per plate and absolutely delicious serve yourself food - salads and veggies galore (seconds allowed but no wasters or sharers) coffee good too. Particularly liked the stuffed vines and Dahl - fab idea and great atmosphere

Oh I love this place, the staff are friendly, the guy owner makes an absolutely amazing latte, the salads are all homemade and absolutely tasty, try with the dressing, you can get a huge plate it’s a help yourself sort of style, and there’s always homemade bread to go with, they also have homemade juice, with a visit if your ever in Totnes or local enough to go.

What a wonderful totally authentic find with wonderful people relaxed atmosphere and absolutely brilliant food using a simple formula which we loved. So there a healthy buffet style eat or you desire without waste mindset here which is absolutely correct. We simply loved the place. Recommend.

I love this place. The coffee is great (especially the flat white!) and they even make their own lemonade. Lucy runs a slick show here and there is a relaxed and humorous atmosphere with background (!) music. This is primarily a salad/coffee bar with everything made on site or across the road in their bakery/shop. The flat bread is a revelation and included in the "all-in" price of £7.95 for as much as you can eat from the salad buffet with pasta and fried potatoes (don't dare leave anything on your plate though!). Darren is the baker and the latest innovation is vegetarian sushi served to take-away from the bakery on trays for as little as £4.50. They also have a marvelous array of cakes, fridge cakes, filled baps, pizza, homity pie, freshly-baked bread plus many more items changing on a daily basis. Consistently good in all departments and a great place to unwind. Well done, Team!

Lucky to be in Totnes on a Friday, the only evening it's open. We hadn't booked but were given a table, albeit for a limited time which suited us fine. It's a flat £10 help yourself buffet. Excellent choice of hot and cold foods with the opportunity to return for more if wanted. My pics show a selection of dishes. Top veggie venue. Wise to book for a Friday night. Tempted to return for lunch tomorrow.

We love going to Seeds, both in the day and when they open on a Friday evening. The food is wonderfully prepared, and the staff are all welcoming and charming. The owner is a lovely woman, and ensures that all runs smoothly. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and you sit at any table which has available seats, so you may even get to make a new friend. In fact, we're going there again tomorrow as we have a friend visiting and we know that we'll have another great time. (Remember that there is no alcohol license, although you can bring your own - check the corkage charge).

Me and my boyfriend visited and loved the idea of helping yourself and being able to go back for more! There was so much choice in terms of the salad plate; about 8 or so cold salads (potato’s, chickpeas, leafy salads, sesame and peas) soft hunks of fresh bread, olives, and some hot foods aswell (mac n cheese, toasted veg and roasted potato wedges)! Everything was super tasty and you could just pile up your plate and return for more of the tasty foods! Would definitely recommend and hopefully will be able to return to Totness to come here again!!! Amazing!

Lovely variety of healthy foods, lots of vegan and raw though there is some warm food. I come for the buffet and get take-away salads whenever I can. Can be packed and noisy and loo is tiny but.. absolutely worth it for the food.

Lovely to be back in Totnes for a holiday again! Visited this restaurant twice over the first week in November. Lucy & the team are always welcoming & friendly & the food is great for my wife's gluten & dairy free diet. The food which consists of a variety of salads & hot dishes with accompaniments such as olives & stuffed vine leaves, is always lovely, great value with a wonderful bustling atmosphere. It is very popular & gets very busy but just adds to the place. We do highly recommend & look forward to our visit on our return to Totnes. Don't change guys!

THe food is without doubt excellent. Can get quite crowded. Staff generally friendly. Woman owner can be pretty patronising, but I think she can be a bit stressed after working so hard cooking the excellent food. It's stopped me going back though.

I selected a number of vegan items for my plate and when i had finished dutifully put my knife and fork together with the serviette on the plate, all neat and tidy. The server, who looked to be in her early 40s, (blonde if I remember correctly), asked me if I had finished and I said yes thank you. She returned a moment later and drew my attention to the policy of clearing the plate to avoid waste - I genuinely couldn't fit anymore in and thought I had the right amount selected when I got dished up - what was I supposed to do, vomit to make room? I also struggled with the hard roasted veg that weren't cooked properly and the unappetising veggie dhal, which was like runny goo. I drew her attention the the unappealing parts of the meal and said I simply couldn't finish it. She then had the audacity to say I didn't finish everything last time I came in either, like she was tracking me! It had been a good month or so prior. She tried to stare me out too but I just smiled and said "really - oh well". She talked down to me like she was my mother! Will not be revisiting

Was delighted to find that Seeds 2 is now open on one evening a week, Friday, as well as lunchtimes. I was greeted by a wide choice of different and interesting salads and dishes, new and unexpected. The flat rate for eating as much as you want works well. Because you can revisit as many times as you wish, you don't start off my overfilling your plate - less waste / more taste! I ate so well, I volunteered to pay more than the flat rate.

Came in for a coffee and hot chocolate on my partners birthday. We asked for a hot chocolate then my partner asked if he could have it with oat milk. The gentleman behind the counter then said “oh really that’s a shame” and then continued to mentione he has one ready made with cows milk and it would make his life easier. I work in a cafe myself I know you should not respond to customers in this way. Although the drinks were lovely, we won’t be returning.

We visit Totnes maybe every other year but this was our first visit to the Seeds2. What a great format.just help yourselves to a plate of food,and pay when you are finished. All they ask is that you only take what you can eat.there is a great choice of veggy food, tasty bread, lovely salad and wonderful staff to assist you. We will return next time we are in Totnes.

What a brilliant place. Pay £7.50 for a serve yourself buffet of healthy salads, Dahl, pasta, sourdough, olives - and all of it beautifully seasoned. Great ambience, loved it.

Stopped here for lunch while visiting friends. Other reviews have already pointed out the friendly staff and casual dining - self-service, table sharing, honesty paying - plus the value for money - all you can eat for £7.50. The salads themselves, I thought, were a little samey. Each contained different ingredients but I felt the herbs and particularly the spices could have made them taste different. Caraway or fennel seed, coriander, basil... Different textures would also have been nice too- it was all a bit indistinguishable. Having said that the salads were all fresh and colourful, the bread delicious and the mac cheese tangy. I enjoyed it and would recommend but a little more variety in seasoning and textures would earn them a fifth star.

My friend brings me here for a lunchtime treat. Fantastic assortment of vegetarian dishes which all taste delicious. The Mac and cheese is scrummy. Grab a plate, load it up, pay at the end. Enjoy.

So I’m not vegan, I’m not even vegetarian but Seeds is a vegan restaurant and I loved it! The food is served buffet style, very casual just grab a plate and help yourself. It cost £7.50 and you pay on your way out. It’s super delicious, really satisfying and even if you aren’t vegan you should try it.

Food was healthy, varied and delicious! Coffee’s has great vegan alternatives and cakes are fantastic! Very friendly staff as well.

Buffet style vegetarian food, mainly salads and cold dishes but there was hot macaroni cheese, potato wedges and roasted roots (that were to die for). Communal tables add to the ambience. I would have liked a hot quiche option, or a veggie chili etc, but this is a comment only and I'm happy to give it 5 stars.

I'm not into vegetarian food but this place is special. It is so what Totnes is all about and makes me feel good just to go in the door. I've been several times now and taken a variety of friends who all love and embrace the experience. The food is so natural and fresh. Don't go if you want luxury, E numbers or meat.

Really lovely place and very social as you share tables. The food is always delicious and great value for money.

Six hours later and I am still full! Great selection of salads, stuffed vine leaves, olives, very tasty dahl and roast veggies. Excellent value for money. Friendly and efficient staff. Good coffee and looked like ace cakes and cold drinks. Please open a branch in Exeter.
