Poppo Goblin in Belfast

Me and my wife, used for the first time Yesterday, Wife had plain Chicken Salad Sandwich,I had Tuna Salad Sandwich, loads of fillings, both women were very friendly and pleasant. Sandwiches offered very good value for money and kept us going all day. Wide selection of fillings, staff were very helpful with our selection.

First time in poppo goblin very friendly staff lovely atmosphere. I ordered sweet chilli chicken sandwich and have to admit it was the nicest I have tasted.

This is literally the nicest chicken salad I have ever had. I'm trying to eat clean and it was anything but boring. It was crunchy with an explosion of flavours and plenty of every salad vegetable under the sun, the spicy brown rice and the pesto dressing both tasted divine. The portion sizes were huge and you got lots of fresh white chicken breast . The server was also very friendly and informative. I will definitely be back.

Disappointing service, the food was fine , i would not recommend, it is also very cramped surroundings.

We ate here several times during a recent visit. The food is really nice. The lady working here is friendly and helpful. However, the guy behind the counter was grumpy and unpleasant, same for every time we visited. While the food is really good, healthy and tasty if its served without grace it takes away from it completely. He seems to be unhappy in his role, which really takes away from tve overall experience

This little gem of a place is next door to the Premier Inn in Alfred Street. Lovely staff, great coffee, granola and porridge for breakfast, and fantastic big sandwiches to eat in or take out. Highly recommended!

Visited here for the 3 mornings we were staying at The Premier Inn on Alfred St, as it is next door. Had read previous reviews, and we were certainly not disappointed. Firstly the food is absolutely amazing - everything we had was delicious. We had sandwiches, salads and drinks. All freshly prepared and so tasty!! Our teenage boys said the Tuna sandwiches they had, were the best they had EVER had. Secondly the staff and customer service is second to none. Nothing is to much trouble and they are a lovely friendly bunch of people. Worth every penny, so avoid The premier inn breakfast and get yourself in here.

Popped into this very friendly local cafe for a late breakfast and after seeing the quality of the food I also asked them to make up a salad bowl for lunch. Both breakfast and lunch were lovely and fresh...I will definitely be back when working in Belfast

Ashamed to say I live across the road from Poppogoblin but have only recently visited for a takeaway lunch... wow.... what have been doing all my life! The food is so fresh and tasty, sandwiches are beast! And the staff are so friendly and helpful! 100% recommend

During my stay in Belfast, we used this cafe for breakfast. What can I say , the food is good and always made fresh . The staff are all amazing, very friendly and made you feel welcome . Will definately be returning here again . Well recommended !!!

Popped in for breakfast. The food was all freshly prepared and the service was excellent. Cannot fault it at all.

Called in for a quick lunch when we arrived to the Premier Inn next door. SO impressed with the menu which included a number of original and vegetarian options but the stand out feature is the staff, particularly the lady who served us - such a warm welcome, helpful and a credit to the place. Needless to say, we went back for breakfast and will do so again tomorrow. A delight to find this place and highly recommended.

We needed somewhere to hang out for a bit. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was fresh and delicious. 100% reccomended.

Called in here whilst staying at the nearby Premier Inn. The staff were really friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough for you. I just had tea and toast but it will delicious. My wife had a bowl of granola and really enjoyed it. The fresh food on display looked lovely as well. A good alternative to the expensive breakfast in the hotel. Well worth a visit as this is a little gem

Helpful service here. Good sandwiches, freshly made from our choice. Drinks and other options too. Usually open from breakfast time to mid-afternoon. Next door to the Premier Inn.

Had no idea this place existed until we moved offices recently. It's a pretty small cafe with limited seating and the queue is out the door at lunch time. It's definitely worth waiting in it though. Nice coffee (maybe a tad expensive) and good traybakes. Bread is fresh and numerous fillings to choose from. Staff are always really friendly. I would recommend to anyone looking to try somewhere different for lunch in Belfast

Me encanta la selección de ensaladeras, todo es super fresco. Usualmente me dan el atún tailandés. A las 5 . 30 Creo que la ensaladera tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio, ya que puedes meter mucho en ella. La mayoría de sus envases son de cartón ahora, así que ese es otro punto a favor.

He usado PoppoGoblin cada vez que he visitado Belfast, hospedándome en el Premier Inn en Alfred Street, tanto para el desayuno como para el almuerzo. Una muy buena selección de sándwiches, ensaladas fabulosas y un guiso irlandés (y vege) y té / café. Tostadas hermosas. Mucha variedad para cada dieta: carne / queso, vegetariana y vegana. Muy razonable y el servicio es realmente rápido y eficiente. La mayoría de la gente aléjese (muy popular entre los trabajadores de la zona), pero, aunque pequeño, también hay espacio para unas 14 personas (prepárese para sentarse al lado / frente a alguien si está sentado). Excelente animación sobre el lugar. Muy recomendable y volveré de nuevo la próxima semana cuando regrese.

Does a good range of healthy and filling sandwiches for under £4. Haven't tried the salads but they look good and are popular. Service is quick and friendly.

Llamado para un sándwich y café. Ambos excelentes y vale la pena el precio. Tiene un buen menú que ofrece una gran variedad. Estaba lleno, pero el personal es servicial. Si eres como yo, tratar con restricciones dietéticas es bueno saber que realmente son sus para ayudarle a atender su dieta.

I loved the place because you can have healthy breakfast like porridge and green smoothies... Not many places in Belfast offer that. We also had sandwich that was really big.. So enough food and reasonable prices! I deffo recommend if you want to have something else than eggs, beans and sausages!

Smart little place run by young folk. Quite pricey but preferable to the Premier Inn. Seemed popular with the office crowd on their way to work.

Rather than having to endure the “famous” Premier Inn breakfast we popped in here! Fresh croissants rather than dried ones and an good selection of drinks. We had an Americano and a latte! Not cheap but in line with other breakfast drop ins around Belfast. Apparently it’s been newly refurbished 3 months ago and judging by the many local workers that use it for coffee and sandwiches it is clearly doing an excellent job! It’s bright, warm and funky even if the WiFi is rather slow! Recommend✅

We were staying at the premier inn which is basically the same building, so 10 yards from the door to door. We had meant to use it sooner but were always out when it was open, it is obviously for workers in the vicinity. Before going to the airport my daughter and i had a bagel each, they were very good, I wouldn't say they were cheap but you got what you paid for. The place was very busy so they must be doing a lot right, Bagels, baguettes, wraps etc, lots of fillings. The salad bowls and soups seemed popular.

A nice sandwich place that makes a pretty entertaining lunch time treat for me. It's pretty handy and is in a part of town that sees it a little out of the way which in itself makes it feel more chilled. Alfred Street doesn't have the throngs of people streaming up and down it that many other establishments would have sought for their higher footfall.

Staying in the Premier Inn, popped in here for lunch and really pleased that we did. We had lovely soup full of flavour and a gorgeous wrap. The staff were so friendly. Will definitely be back!

Café encantador local. Me alojé en el hotel Local Premier Inn. Este café fue a pocos metros de distancia. Servicio amable. Fui allí para el desayuno cada día que asistí a una conferencia. Avena delicioso con fruta, buen café y un zumo sabroso. También tenía un bagel agradable un día. El personal es muy agradable.

Popped in for lunch and ordered the soy chicken and peanut sauce, but they were out of the soy chicken, instead they replaced with the veggie sausage (which is now vegan). They were very conscientious about changing gloves, knife, and cutting board as well as doublechecking that the veggie sausages were vegan. The prices are affordable and one sandwich is very filling. I would return.

Essendo ospiti dell'hotel Premier Inn che si trova proprio a fianco, per tutti e tre i giorni della nostra visita a Belfast abbiamo fatto colazione in questo splendido locale, il personale è velocissimo e disponibilissimo, i centrifugati fatti al momento di frutta e verdura sono ottimi e anche tutto il resto della colazione è fantastica.I bambini ne erano entusiasti.Consigliatissimo e assolutamente da visitare se vi trovate a Belfast!

Food is fresh and full of taste, the atmosphere is pleasant and staff very are friendly.Salad bowl is £5, similar to that of a boojum bowl. I was very happy to pay that as the quantity is large and the food is so fresh and tasty. You get what you pay for! Overall great experience, ill be back.

The food and service at poppo is 2nd to none. I popped in for lunch and was first there knocking my colleagues at the local call centre out of the way for one of the famous salad bowls ! Was well worth reciveing a telling off when I got back to work for nearly knocking a computer over the staff were real helpful there was big dave whipping up a storm in the kitchen who loves to dance.. then ula who could rhyme off the sauces in seconds! While serving and coffee And can't forget brian cheeky chap indeed with a smile that so welcoming . In the words of arnie .. I'll be back :)

I popped in for a smoothie and saw they had all sorts of other things that are right up my street: organic porridge, choose your own ingredient salads including beetroot, broccoli, halloumi, puy lentils. They also have a good range of juice combinations such as apple, carrot, spinach and ginger.

I had done some research about this place online for a quick lunch, after reading many reviews i thought i would give it a try.I went in and ordered a salad to takeaway, the food itself was nice, but i think it is a little overpriced, my small/average sized salad was £5 which for the size of the portion i thought was dear enough.It is a very small establishment, but it seemed to do well as there was several people sitting in eating whilst i was there, it was clean and the staff were nice and friendly.

Had breakfast here before a day trip as this place is next to the hotel we stayed in and I didn't fancy a full on greasy fry up @ £9.00. This seems like an independent cafe so worth supporting. Food is freshly prepared and tasty and there's a good range of options available. Had a ham sandwich which was delicious and very filling. If you are in the vicinity then please try this as I'm sure you won't regret it. Scones are huge and home made. A winner.

I have been popping in here a few times every year when i am in the area but was struck again today just how great the sandwiches are here.Its only a small space so they keep it simple. Increadibly fresh and tasty made for you as you wait , excellent value too.Perfect for a lunchtime pitstop and worth wandering the extra few yards to.

Have been here once before and got a salad bowl. Very tasty dish with great ingredients and excellent value for money, good portions and staff were super pleasant and helpful. Coffee was excellent. Returned today to try a wrap, again excellent service however I asked for not too much filling in my wrap, the girl making it was lovely and asked if I wanted anything else in it, I declined but asked for a little of the Asian slaw on the side as I prefer coleslaw on the side rather than in the wrap. This was no trouble at all. However- the total bill for a wrap and black coffee was £7.00!! I queried being charged £1.50 for a small portion of Asian slaw and was told it was a side order and that's what it cost! That was it!! My friend was with me and got a salad bowl which was great value and very tasty however my lunch was overpriced for what it was and I didn't appreciate the reply when querying the price. I am undecided if I will return because of today's visit but cannot fault my first visit, maybe someone was just having a bad day. I will rate regarding my first visit here in January.

I have only purchased the salad bowls to take out but they are so tasty and fresh. The noodles and cous cous have so much flavour and these bowls are packed full. Will have to try their soup and stew over the winter. It is small but the staff are fast and I have never had to wait for a long time. It is good value too as the bowl would easily do 2 lunches. Highly recommended!

I needed a quick sandwich for lunch. I ordered basic- brown bread single filling which was not generous at all. When I paid I was horrified..... £3.70!Owner please take note, there are quite a few suggestions here that you are over priced.

What a fantastic little find, nothing a problem for the staff. We entered and asked for breakfast and packed lunch, the staff hurried around sorting 7 of us out whilst still serving regulars, I had and fell in love with bagel with banana, peanut butter and honey ...yummy. The lunch that we had ordered was exceptionaly gorgeous and would recommend to anyone in Belfast. The staff were lovely and so patient. I'll be back!!

I come here for my lunch break from work and the salads are always amazing. There is a huge selection of fresh vegetables and they also have yummy homemade chutneys, hummus and satay sauces. They are also one of the very few places in Belfast that serve vegetarian sausages!The staff are always super friendly too even though they are usually very busy.

I like this place. It is a sandwich bar with a few seats. Service is always friendly and sandwiches are very good. If I'm in a Belfast for meetings and want lunch on my own I always try here snd although small only once did I not get a seat.

I ate at Poppo Goblin several times. Delicious, very fresh food. Wish they were open later. Would have gotten a take-away salad for dinner! Highly recommend if you're looking for something fresh and high quality.

I attended this quirky food outlet for a soup and sandwhich combo and although nice, it is charging way over the odds for its products. I would expect to pay somewhere in the region of £5 for a chicken sandwich and a soup but this place charges £6.50. The soup of the day was luke warm, the sandwich was nice and it's a fairly decent little place to visit but they need to revisit their pricing structure or they will struggle to sustain regular punters.

High quality ingredients, delicious breakfasts and lunches, great choice and really healthy. Located next to the Premier Inn I would definitely recommend them for breakfast rather than eating at the hotel. Huge slices of granary toast, a delicious cheesy bagel toastie, great coffee and juices. Surprised to find not open on Saturday morning (though may have been because it was the Easter weekend?)

I was very disappointed with the price of a wrap i ordered. It said on menu £3.70 for thai tuna and salad. I ordered thai tuna, cheese,jalapenos and sweetcorn. I asked for a little more tuna as the amount i was initially given was pitiful. I was charged £5.40!! Would not rush back.

Yeah; you may (or may not) like the food and coffee prepared in here, but their staff are certainly attentive, well mannered and they do really care that you have a good experience/coffee/lunch break.I have been here a number a of times (yet not a regular at all) and every time I call in for a coffee, I am always well looked after by their staff.I have not had food here (just coffees from time to time), but I have no reason to fault the place.If you are staying at the Premier Inn next door, why would you have an overpriced coffee there when you can pop next door for a good honest breakfast or coffee with a smile at a very reasonable price?

My sister and I found this little gem last week on our visit to Belfast. It is adjacent to the Premier inn. They do sandwiches, bagels, fresh fruit, smoothies, etc. We went in at breakfast time and had french toast (eggy bread to some) and coffee. The bread is home made and freshly baked. Two very slices brown or white and a coffee is only £3. The toast comes with a choice of toppings, honey, syrup etc. We went on two mornings and judging by the amount of people coming in it must be very popular indeed. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and gave us directions to where we wanted to go. Definately recommended if you are near the city hall. Think they close earlyish though.
