The Hoose in Belfast

It has been a while since we were here, but as usual, it never disappoints the food was excellent and service looking forward to our next meal there.

Another great meal in Hoose. Goats cheese for starters. Lamp rump and my husband had pork belly.

Cosy restaurant, with stunning decor, literally a hidden gem! Food was perfect as was the service (man serving us was lovely and so friendly)! Highly recomend and will 100% return again soon!

Fantastic food, great vegan/vegetarian options, staff are lovely and cozy atmosphere.

Volvimos para nuestra segunda visita a Hoose y tuvimos el almuerzo dominical de dos platos por 24 libras. Empecé con el Calamar y Jude tomó la sopa de hongos del día. . . ambos eran absolutamente hermosos. . . ¡Casi pido otra porción del calamar! Para la mayoría, Jude tenía la carne asada y yo el pollo... de nuevo la comida era excepcional... 3 trozos de carne de res y dos trozos de pollo en rodajas hermosas... ambos estaban perfectamente cocinados y rebosaban de sabor... una verdadera cena asada. Jude tenía compota de bayas para el postre y yo comí tarta de queso caramac los dos iban a morir por impresionante. Una vez más nuestra visita se completó por el servicio y la naturaleza de nuestro anfitrión Ross. . . nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos y nada era demasiado para él. . . gracias

Love the Hoose! Personal amable y comida hermosa. Comí queso de cabra y tarta de cebolla caramelizada para empezar, mi esposa comió pollo satay para empezar. Ambos deliciosos. Entonces ambos tuvimos pato para la red. Muy bien hecho. No queda sitio para el postre. ¡No se puede pedir más!

Incredible food with a full vegan and beggie menu and super friendly staff. Best vegan meal in Belfast!

We had grandads 80s bday party which was hosted on the 1st floor, staff couldn't be more accommodating, prices were extremely reasonable and kids were entertained with colouring pages and crayons. Loved it!

Estaba contento con el servicio y la comida, pero lamentablemente lo que me desanimó fue el entretenimiento de su chef jefe y la chica joven, el traslado de los dos en público es asqueroso. Estaba sentado frente a la cocina. Lo siento, pero pensé que al principio era el padre de las jóvenes, creo que ella es el lavavajillas.

Been here twice now in two weeks food is incredible one of the nicest steaks ive ever had, service is fantastic the staff are attentive friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive cant fault a thing about this place highly recommend

Fantastic meal, service and atmosphere

Incredible cocktail, main course and dessert! It's full of good flavors, the cooking is perfect, the presentation is excellent and the service is impeccable. No, really it deserves even more than 5 stars. If I come back to Belfast, I will come back!

We visited this "wee hoose" for a pre show dinner, heading to SSE. Ross was so welcoming and great craic. (Another lovely girl was serving, but didn't get her name). Food was really good value. And the atmosphere (even though we were first in) was cosy and comfortable. Out first visit, but definitely won't be our last. Panna cotta was yum.

We ate in Hoose Bistro tonight & had a great meal & good fun chat with the staff. Two menu choices & our table picked from both. A good selection & what lovely tasty food & a nice portion size. I have to mention a good range of veg! Again a nice wine selection, great service. Thank you Hoose for a good night.

Absolutely cannot fault this place. Staff are super friendly, and the food is out of this world! Highly recommend!!!

We first went on a Wednesday night and we had a table in the ground floor as our friend would have never managed the stairs. Food was EXCELLENT, service was EXCELLENT and it was a fairly quiet night with only one other couple downstairs and a few upstairs. The waiter was a lot of fun and we had some great banter with him. It was so good we decided to book for the next night but were told we would have to eat a bit later than planned as they were busier. Food and service were still EXCELLENT but service was a lot slower and there was a young waitress serving as well as just the waiter we had seen the previous night. All tables were full and there must have been a lot of people upstairs due to the traffic we saw on the staircase. I would highly recommend this restaurant, free street parking is available outside the door.

This was my second visit to the Hoose Bistro and if you, like me, can recognize the work of a passionate cook, you must try this Bistro for sure. This chef knows his thing! A very pleasant welcome with good service. The tastes where all there and with the combination of the good wine it was a truly treat. Hope to visit again soon.

I booked Hoose for a choir night out and we had a fantastic meal - not aware of any complaints at all in a group of 17. Ross and the team provided exceptional service and we were given a private room which allowed for some craic after the meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Located over in East Belfast but well worth the taxi ride. Excellent and prompt service. Good menus albeit chicken slightly overcooked. Good cocktails too,

Had a lovely time with friends.. so cosy and relaxing.. thought I was in someone's home.. where the hosts were just brilliant.. they know their stuff for sure.. and to top it all off..the food was yum...

We had a family dinner here tonight to celebrate a wedding anniversary! Everything was amazing from start to finish. The food was 10/10 and portion sizes were huge, everyone was really happy with theirs. All staff were so attentive, and shout out to Ross who was excellent - he made the occassion so special. We will all definetely be back :) The Hoose really is a hidden gem. Thank you!

The Hoose is Ballyhackamore's best kept secret. Exceptional menu. But better even than the food is the cosy atmosphere. The host Ross and his team greeted us with a warm welcome. Will be back.

Wonderful small bistro, superb quality food all made on the premises. Helpful and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Visiting from Birmingham and celebrating a birthday in style. Would highly recommend.

Super place for a bit of Sunday lunch!

Excellent food. One of our party has a dairy allergy and they accomodated their needs really very well. The service was excellent and the staff were pleasant and professional, with good rapport. Steak was cooked to perfection for me. The ambiance was lovely, and the decor is exceptionally nice. We were, however, sitting beside a radiator that was pelting out heat - so it was very very warm! Overall, would recommend and would return; lovely spot!

Have been a few times now for different occassions. I have to say, this a gem of a restaurant. Delicious menu, lovely atmosphere, excellent front of house staff and just beats all the other local restaurants hands down! Totally recomnend!

Really nice spot in East Belfast. We were there for Sunday Lunch and they had a Sunday lunch menu and an a la carte menu. One thing that really annoys me about lots of restaurants is not having an a la carte menu on Sunday afternoons. Both menus were very good and the staff were very good especially with the toddler that was in our party. Check it out it’s well worth a visit!

Outstanding in every way, so much on the menu to pick from. Will be back so I can try everything else on it 😄 service with a smile so friendly and great value for money. First time visiting The Hoose and we were not disappointed! Staff are extremely polite and welcoming, food was excellent and the venue itself is unique. The beat the clock is such an amazing deal, can't believe that it wasn't as busy as I was expecting, people are missing out!! The only issue that we had was that the restaurant was way to warm and we were seated right beside the radiator. Other than that, it was great and we'll definitely be back again!!

This is a lovely restaurant-great value,homely,warm and professional staff and lovely food. You will struggle to find a restaurant in Belfast,that ticks as many boxes as Hoose.

A fabulous meal with friends. Food was delicious, service was excellent, wine and cocktails (and port and limoncello) flowed … what’s not to like?! In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in East Belfast.

Great spot. Bit of hidden gem as it’s bigger than it looks being over 3 floors. Only sorry we’d not tried it sooner. The food was very good. Great attention to detail, well presented and delicious. Service was good and staff very friendly, but a little bit too slow.

Finally was able to visit this restaurant that I wanted to try out for ages. Really nice food , interior and the best service you can ask for. Lovely dining experience will come back in the future for sure :)

Fantastic little eatery in the East Belfast. Been there several times, both with family & work colleagues - never came out disappointed with food or service quality. And, in my opinion, it is budget friendly, specifically considering quality of food you get in it. Don't pass it buy - it's a gem.

Decided to go here for our 13 year anniversary. The food was outstanding good value for money definitely go back there. All round amazing night.

Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Been recommended many times and safe to say it did not disappoint. The guy that served us was super friendly, attentive and such a good laugh. The cocktails are superb, wine choice great and food even better. Really rate this wee bistro in East Belfast. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed

Really lovely visit on New Year's Eve. Food was delicious, could not recommend the Korean Beef starter highly enough it was superb. Very well cooked duck for my main that came with what may be the best cauliflower cheese I've ever had. Sticky toffee pudding for desert which was really tasty. Will most certainly be back.

My partner & I visited in Dec 23 and it was amazing. Very cosy atmosphere, we dined upstairs & it was fairly quiet at the time although it was just before closing. Our server was fantastic and offered lots of advice on the dishes and made the evening pleasant. The food was fantastic & when the bill came I was pleasantly surprised at the price compared to the quality of food. 10/10 will recommend to anyone visiting Belfast

This hidden place is a very cosy and romantic place to have a good dinner with friends or partner. Waitress was very lovely and super nice 👍 I loved they offer a birthday cake and it comes with a little candle to make it super special. Very recommended

Dining solo, with food intolerances, is not always easy. Tonight I was very impressed by the understanding waiter and flexible chef who adapted what I chose and delivered one of the best meals I’ve had in three weeks in Ireland. Serves were generous, so much so that I couldn’t eat all of either the starter or the main and certainly had no room for dessert. Coffee at the end was also excellent, and much appreciated. Kudos to Ross who looked after me and chatted while things were quiet, but also left me with space to enjoy the meal. All in all, a dining highlight. Thank you to all the team at Hoose!

Very glad we followed the reviews for The Hoose Bistro. My wife is a coeliac and they could not do enough to cater for her gluten-free needs. I highly recommend the Goat's Cheese Mousse starter. The food was absolutely delicious with an amazing array of choices. We usually share a starter but this time we had to choose two starters. Service was excellent with the staff very friendly and genuinely interested in our travels. I would easily come back to The Hoose Bistro.

This was an exceptionally excellent experience in every regard! A fantastic varied menu, beautifully cooked, and also great value! But the highlight was our host Ross, who was fantastic fun throughout our visit! My wife wants to take him back to Jersey! I can’t recommend...

What a great place!! Beautiful food! A really lovely selection on the menu that left us spoilt for choice. Sea bass cooked to perfection. Lamb sooo tasty. Staff friendly but unobtrusive. Wonderful!

The food was excellent and very good value. The teatime menu was particularly so at £22 for 2 courses. This provided a perfect stop off before catching the overnight ferry.
