First time visiting the Duke of York, but wow, what a place!! Vintage memrobillia fills every inch within the pub, and you could literally spend all your time looking at each and every piece. The guinness was first class, but for obvious reasons, if you drink outside, then it's in a plastic cup. To be honest it's that good it didn't make much of a difference. Was it busy? Yes, but what do you expect? Everyone comes and needs to drink here while in Belfast!!

We really enjoyed our two experiences at this fabulous place. Sitting right in the heart of The Cathedral Quarter, The Duke of York offers a warm welcome along with a wide selection of drinks, including some top drawer whisky tipples if you like a night cap. Popular with tourists and locals alike, this is a vibrant bar with a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy live music every night of the week. If you fancy things a tad quieter, sit in the back room, from where you can still enjoy the sound of the music. Highly recommended.

This is a pub, beer and whiskey, cocktails if you like, a busy bar, and lots of joyfulness. Filled with tourists, primarily from South of Ireland, we enjoyed grabbing a pint. We befriended a local counselor who shared stories of old Belfast and helped us navigate the wide selection of Irish whiskies. One plus is that you can go out into the alley way to have a less noisy environment and still enjoy your draught. Service was prompt, friendly, and gracious about my husband's suggestion to ignorantly order something that should not be ordered in any place in the 32 counties. The walls were adorned with the evidenced of the likely millions of visitors who have been through the doors of this famous pub. This is a must-do once, but not an always do for me. Loved the quaint street that greeted us and the people we were able to get into a good time with along the way.
