Rose and Grants (Tronsgate)

Calton, Glasgow City
27/10/2020: Really nice coffee shop for breakfast/lunch. Felt very safe with all of their COVID measures in place. Staff were all friendly and not overly attentive. Good choice for people not fussed on the gluten free side of things too. Will definitely be back soon!
19/09/2020: Nice breakfast at Rose and Grants, lovely service and the safety precautions were good, they had plastic coverings separating tables which felt quite safe.

The Railway

Skipton West, Craven
30/12/2020: Excellent all round. It’s a good pub with good pub food and a pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly and very efficient. Perfect combination.
03/11/2020: Visited the Railway for dinner and I was not disappointed.i had a lovely Pork and beef roast with extra veg as I have given up on spuds for a while. My wife had the chicken breast in peppercorn sauce which also was delicious. My wife was also impressed with the fruit crumble and custard. The wainwright beer was very nice as was the Sauvignon Blanco wine. The price was also very reasonable

Teacup Tearoom

Mevagissey, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
02/11/2020: Popped in during our visit to Mevagissey harbour. The room had been set up to accommodate social distancing--so very few tables. We had the full monty! And could not move afterwards. But it was lovely. Tea served in teapots and beautiful china cups. Colourful and mis-matched.
29/10/2020: Glad we looked on tripadvisor before visiting Mevagissy. We stopped off for lunch and were warmly welcomed. We had the ham and cheese bap and the cheese scone followed by delicious cake - an amazingly choice of cakes, hard to make a choice. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

Guildhall, York
06/11/2020: Wheldrakes is my favourite family run cafe in York. Always a warm welcome even through the first lockdown I could still stop by for my takeaway treats. They do gorgeous breakfasts-lunches, fresh coffee and most importantly the cakes. Everything is freshly made, plenty of variety even with gluten free and vegan options. Millionaires shortbread is my favourite. See you soon!
06/11/2020: Lovely homemade carrot cake. Not many cafes offer Darjeeling tea but they do here, fantastic. Cosy warm friendly cafe excellent lunch menu so must go back again, and again. Thank you Wheldrakes.

Ox and Finch

Anderston / City, Glasgow City

Mariners Restaurant of Ipswich

Alexandra, Ipswich, 45-60£
22/12/2020: This is our go to restaurant in Ipswich and as usual food and service superb. Such excellent value for money. As ever a really enjoyable experience. Joyeux noel ☺️
12/12/2020: My husband and I booked this restaurant having read the super reviews left from other diners. Thank you all for the recommendation because we had a very memorable evening! We were greeted and led to a cosy table next to a fireplace. The menu is online and i would suggest you choose before you go as it’s a difficult decision! I had the haddock fish cake starter and it was the best starter I have had in years. My husband was equally pleased with his satay starter. Mains for me the fish skewer it was stunning. We enjoyed the wines and took away a bottle or two to our hotel which was sold at ten pounds a bottle off the list price. The boat is cosy and has a great atmosphere... the staff were brilliant... attentive and chatty. Can’t wait to go back well done !!! Ps Xmas decorations a bit lacking that’s my only suggestion for improvement for a December dinner!!

The Guy Fawkes Arms

Claro, Harrogate
27/12/2020: We booked for Sunday lunch at tea-time as a family with our dog. Fabulous food, fabulous service and fabulous staff. We could not have been made to feel more welcome and every course was simply delicious! Excellent attention to us - and, in the most unobtrusive of ways - to Covid requirements. We will definitely be back - thank you!
24/12/2020: The Guy Fawkes Arms is always our go to restaurant as the food and service is consistently of a high standard. Our most recent visit was on Saturday 19 December 2020 and once again we were not disappointed. The whole pub is COVID-19 safe. The lunchtime set menu for 1,2 or 3 courses is very well priced and excellent value for money. We cannot wait to be back after Christmas!

Cellar Bistro

St Ives North, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
18/10/2020: We visited here for a family break. We dined here one every and it was a lovely safe experience, the staff were knowledge and accommodated our dining needs. The steak was delicious. I would recommend and return
30/09/2020: Superb restaurant. The food, service & ambiance was spot on. We really enjoyed our evening. Such a shame as we were there on their last night before being forced to close due to the 10pm curfew. I really hope they survive the pandemic as it’s a beautiful spot in St Ives. Thank you

The Ingham Swan

Waxham, North Norfolk, 45-60£
27/12/2020: This is only my second visit to the Ingham Swan and both times I have been absolutely blown away. Being someone that has worked in the catering industry for years and a big foodie, my expectations can be quite high but they still managed to exceed them. The service was friendly, not pushy and very professional. I had the scallops to start and venison as a main, finishing with my first ever experience of souffle. All made gluten and dairy free upon request and beautiful glass of Marlborough Sauvignon. There were 2 menus available, we didn't eat from the lunch menu but it was excellent value for moneySometimes asking for a dish to be made to suit my intolerance can mean I get a noticeably different dish but I can honestly say that this wasn't the case today. I cannot wait to return for a 3rd time and have another outstanding experience. Thank you so much to the chefs and front of house staff, we had the best time.
26/12/2020: We went here on xmas eve and had a beautiful meal - longshore cod and triple cooked chips for my husband and Bingham blue and onion tartlet for myself. This venue would be equally suitable for a family or business meal. We only attended as a couple because of the current Covid rules.

Windermere Applethwaite and Troutbeck, South Lakeland, <20£
22/12/2020: My partner and I came here recently and had the best experience ever. A total gem and truly brilliant service. I can’t fault the staff here. I have a severe allergy to Sesame seeds/oil and they were really professional throughout. Even going as far to find out whether I could have some of my partner’s food! So lovely. I had the salmon and quail eggs to start, divine. My partner had chicken liver parfait, also divine. I then had the truffle and mushroom spaghetti which was genuinely the BEST truffle spaghetti I have ever had! My partner had Pork Belly as a main and was very impressed. We both had desserts too which are made in house!Thank you for a wonderful evening. The price was surprisingly cheap too considering we had 4 alcoholic drinks, starters, mains & desserts! Less than £100 for the whole night! We were also given a complimentary amuse-bouche on arrival! Thank you. Anyone considering coming here - you would be missing out if you didn’t come by while you visit Windermere!
16/12/2020: After looking at numerous restaurants we decided to spend our anniversary at Francine's. We wasn't dissapointed, the Chef is extremely knowlegable about Gluten Free food. We started with Soup (potatoe and leek) and iit was the best soup we have ever tasted, every spoonfull was amazing. I had wild Mallard for my main and i was totally blown away with the presentation and the taste (fabulous). Janet had pigs cheeks and it just melted in the mouth. If you are on a short stay and you can only go to one place to eat in Windermere. Make it Francine's, you will love it. Thanks for a great night. Hopefully see you again sooner rather than later..

New Dawn Inn

Coombe Hill, Tewkesbury
22/12/2020: We were lucky enough to get a table during a busy lunch time.Really assured throughout with covid precautions we were relaxed and welcomed the attentive, considerate service throughout.Well kept beers and a nice selection of wines enabled us to have a nice drink as we selected our food. When it came we weren’t disappointed succulent ham with the ham egg and chips, eggs cooked well but a little over for our liking. Next time we’ll be sure to ask for them the way we like. None the less a great dish. Our other selection was lambs liver, tender and cooked to perfection. We will return as we continue to explore the local area.
09/12/2020: So good to be back. Incredible food, very reasonable. Staff welcoming and friendly. Felt v safe I’m with restrictions being observers-felt v normal

Lavenham Blue Vintage Tea Rooms

Lavenham, Babergh
28/12/2020: We called in to Lavender Blue on the off chance and we were made so welcome. One of our children was a little nervous about going into a cafe again as she is a little anxious but she was soon made to feel very relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious - the chocolate cake was declared as being”awesome!” I can’t wait to visit again as soon as we can. Lavenham you are so lucky to have this gem in your town.
15/12/2020: Decided to visit Lavenham for my fiancé's birthday and as a fan of afternoon tea I knew she would enjoy it. We booked here and im so glad we did. The venue is really lovely, the afternoon tea was great. The cakes are so good! To top it all off the staff gave my other half a birthday card and a piece of cake with a candle in it, it was a really nice touch and made the visit extra special. Cant recommend more highly

Alexandros Greek Restaurant and Deli

Castle, Carlisle, 20-30£
12/12/2020: Went here for dinner after reading the rave reviews. The service was fantastic, mostly from an excellent waiter named Stas (I hope I’ve spelled that correctly!). The starters were very good; fresh, authentic and delicious. As were the puddings. We felt let down by the main courses however, they were bland and over priced. Would recommend the sharing plates, they are good value.
11/12/2020: Another lovely meal at Alexandros!Couldn’t fault anything we ate. Ham and filo parcels and cheese balls as starters. Lamb shank and chicken souvlaki for mains. Almost didn’t have room for desert but managed to leave just enough space and pleased we did.Thank you to all the staff!

The Canbury Arms

Canbury, Kingston upon Thames, 30-45£
17/12/2020: Consistently good food, good service and a nice setting. Very grateful that the Canbury Arms is my local.
14/12/2020: Had an amazing Sunday roast here. The interior is very well furnished and decorated and overall lovely atmosphere.

Miners Arms

St Agnes, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
03/11/2020: My partner and I were on holiday in the area and found this pub practically next door- we ordered takeaway meals on 2 occasions and both times the meals were superb. Huge portions and delicious and reasonable prices. The roast dinner on a Sunday was particularly special (we had the veggie version and it didn’t disappoint!). Thanks to the Miners Arms for such a lovely experience.
31/10/2020: My family and I ate here whilst staying in Perranporth . The pub is very old and is full of character , open fires and a secret bolt hole ! Food was of good quality and reasonably priced . The pub has taken COVID seriously .
