Dr Brews Coffee and Blues

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland
26/09/2020: Excellent food/drink and service. Lovely relaxing atmosphere 👌🏼 This is a great place to spend some time winding down in Windermere. Highly recommended.
26/09/2020: We had a excellent lunch at Dr Brews this week. We loved that it was dog friendly and saw other dogs with their owners there.I had the tomato and basil soup which was so good! My partner had mozzarella, basil and tomato toasted sandwich and said it was very tasty! We also had the some cake and a pot of tea for 2. Overall for the price we got so much food - amazing value. The customer service was great from beginning to end - so thank you!We would definitely recommend coming here as it’s number one on tripadvisor for a reason!

Steam Bistro

Coniston and Crake Valley, South Lakeland
04/09/2020: First class service from ordering our takeaway to collection. The food was out of this world. I had the lasagne & I have never had a lasagne as good. From the first mouthful it was delicious. Hubby had the burger & he was equally as pleased with it. Would definitely recommend this place. Don't go to Coniston without without sampling the food from this restaurant.
30/08/2020: First class luckily we managed to get a last minute takeaway highly recommended. Looking forward to a return visit

Folkestone Harvey Central, Shepway
17/09/2020: For this price? 5 stars! Very good food. Especially very good veg. I had sea bass, my son had signature burger and my wife had just veg and all was tasty! Excellent place and we will call again if we come to Folkestone more.
12/09/2020: Worth the travel from Sevenoaks. As you can’t book a table at lunchtime I emailed and then spoke to Charly. She advised to arrive before noon to hopefully get a table. We did and got a table. My sis loved the Popcorn Cauliflower bites. In fact absolutely no complaints just compliments. 100% recommended.

Rose and Grants (Tronsgate)

Calton, Glasgow City
14/09/2020: The coffee is fantastic, their vegan empire biscuit was so scrumptious, and the vegan haggis roll was a great day to start my morning! It was the first time I'd ever had haggis of any kind and I wasn't disappointed.
13/09/2020: Live round corner and had been meaning to try. Took the opportunity today.. Sunday. Busy place managed well with Covid stuff. Very clean and good distancing with tables. Only had a coffee as had already had lunch. Coffee very nice, service efficient and the soups, cakes and vegan brunches all looked good so def next time. Cafe has nice chilled feel and popular for take away also. Def going to be a regular as want to try a soup...

Food by Breda Murphy

Whalley, Ribble Valley, 20-30£
13/09/2020: Ate here on 12th September in the evening. Nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. Relatively short menu, but well thought out. Excellent arancini, duck and halibut. It’s a pleasure eating here.
13/09/2020: Late lunch as a birthday treat. 3 courses each - beautifully presented .Tasty Arancini - I could have eaten them again !Gnocchi for a main - freshly made with summer veg & Parmesan cream - delicious.Creme brûlée for dessert - could have eaten it twice . Great service - nice to chat to Breda who seems to be enjoying being front of house , very welcoming. Managed to nip to the pantry & got a lasagne for tomorrow's tea!

Teacup Tearoom

Mevagissey, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
14/09/2020: Visited on Saturday 12th Sept woman that was serving was so abrupt speaking to people like school kids the sign outside had so much info on it rather than just saying wear a face mask and wait to be seated she spoke to people like they should know all the rules of the place speaking down to someone that was just trying to see if dogs were allowed in this ruined what was otherwise could of been great the food and drinks were amazing the man that was also in there serving was on the other hand very friendly they were like chalk n cheese
10/09/2020: Decent coffee with delicious scones clotted cream topped off with strawberry jam.Stumbled on this quaint little tea room after a day of exploring Cornish coast line.Friendly staff, loved the foot pump sink and tap at the door allowing customers option to wash their hands as opposed to hand sanitizer.

The Railway

Skipton West, Craven
06/09/2020: Fantastic pub food and great service. This is one of the best places to eat in Skipton, really good value.
06/09/2020: Stayed for 2 nights as part of a short jaunt walking in the Dales. The room was lovely and welcoming, staff pleasant and overall really good VFM. I did not sample the evening food but the lounge area was spotless and the ales were in good order. The locals were a friendly bunch and its a good location for anyone wanting to explore this part of the Dales. I do have one moan and that is due to the fact that my bacon sandwich on the first morning was cremated and served on a cheap bread roll...the following morning the owner cooked me a lovely sausage sandwich... apart from that I would DEFINITELY recommend the Railway not just as a place to stay but also a place to call in when visiting Skipton.

Cafedral Durham

Elvet, County Durham
22/08/2020: What a great find! We visited the cafe on our way back from visiting the Cathedral. The staff were all friendly and sanitizer was available. Some of the tables were possibly a bit close together but overall it was a lovely little place. The scones were delicious and the orange hot chocolate was delicious!
20/08/2020: We stopped here on our way up to the cathedral (first time in Durham). I had the Greek platter (hummus with pitted olives and pitta bread) and my companion had a tuna panini. Both very enjoyable, with two coffees. Cafe was COVID ready and the staff were really pleasant. Good value

The Hive

Beacon-Stow, Cotswold
04/09/2020: In spite of the impact of the Corona virus, the Hive is alive and kicking serving delicious takeaway sandwiches, salads and takeaway meals. Their cheese scones are a delicious accomp to soup and their bread is simply the best! The quality is as brilliant as ever and we all need to support them to keep them going in these difficult times.
09/08/2020: We stopped by the Hive during a quick visit to Stow on the Wold and am so glad we did! The two ladies at the shop were incredibly friendly and my daughter was delighted to be treated to some marshmallows while we waited for our coffees & some of the best scones ever. Some how managed to convey that warm and cosy feeling through a takeaway experience.. Great place.

Guildhall, York
12/09/2020: Tried this after reading reviews and it did not disappoint what a breakfast.Everthing is top quality and cooked to order staff very friendly and first class service. have seen the array of home baked cakes returned later for coffee and cake.
09/09/2020: Visited this excellent establishment for Breakfast. We had a very short wait for a table but all Covid 19 precautions were being observed. After perusing the extensive menu, we opted for the full English Breakfast and it was great to see that alternative items were available (in my case swapping Baked Beans for Black Pudding) and the ordering process was very easy (including a bit of banter revolving around whether I would be getting 'Geordie' Tea rather than Yorkshire. I was not disappointed when my breakfast, beautifully cooked and presented, arrived. Sausage, Bacon, Black Pudding, Tomato, Toast and 2 poached eggs (along with a pot of relish). It was quickly consumed as it was all delicious, washed down with 2 cups of tea from an unusually 'non-drippy' teapot. Like the food, the service was excellent and the bill was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to this establishment the next time we are in York, and may indulge in some of the fantastic array of cakes that were also available.I would highly recommend visiting if you are in York. 10/10

Alexandros Greek Restaurant and Deli

Castle, Carlisle, 20-30£
07/09/2020: Been here on several occasions now. This time was a special one though, my partners 50th. Sarah was so accommodating when I asked about putting up some 50th decorations - only charged me what she bought them at the supermarket for. Even the screens they have up for social distancing are tastefully done. The atmosphere here is brilliant for a birthday as they make you feel so special if you have a birthday cake. The birthday music is great - gets the whole restaurant going, 10/10Now to the most important bit, the food, as always we’ve never left disappointed. If you like Greek food, you’ll love this. Lovely cocktails available too. Once again guys, thank you for a memorable night, top marks.
05/09/2020: We were a group of four who were staying in Carlisle for a break and booked here after reading trip advisor reviews. Booking was simple and efficient by phone. We were greeted at the door and ushered to our table. Covid rules and social distancing were well managed. All staff were wearing masks and our group felt safe and comfortable. To the food; we were given a bread basket which was tasty and fresh , we ordered a selection of Greek dips and cheese and ham filo pastries which we all enjoyed. For mains fillet steaks, Beef Stifado and Moussaka , really good quality and perfectly cooked. We shared deserts which included a homemade Brandy chocolate tart ; wonderful.Staff were pleasant and helpful with our menu choices. All in all a great experience and wort visiting Carlisle for !!!.

Clean Bean

Dawdon, County Durham
01/09/2020: Enjoy coming here because there's always something different on the menu. Not run of the mill menus which is reason we come. Had the Booty bowl today which was tasty and wholesome if a little chewy with the amount of beans in it. Had the roast chicken as a topper, which unfortunately was very dry and tasteless. However the next time we are in Seaham we shall return.
01/09/2020: I cannot recommend this place enough. The food, the service, quality, atmosphere, cleanliness, attention to detail is second to none. We went for brunch (I'm gluten free so being able to choose from a full menu was amazing) but my whole family said it was one of the best brunches they've had! We got extra treats to take away and will definitely be going back. Gluten free our not, I highly suggest a visit!

Ox and Finch

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
27/04/2020: 2 couples, wined and dined. Absolutely amazing menu, food cooked to perfection. Great selection of wines and service was impeccable. Great final meal before lock down and high on my list for a revisit

Bears paw inn

High Legh, Cheshire East
05/09/2020: Service was good, but my wife who had Sea Bass, thought it was good, but I, who had the most expensive cut of steak - fillet - thought it was at best 'chewey' , and the fries appeared 'straight out of the freezer'. Salad and onion rigs were quite unremarkable, and the dressing and table salt - not sea salt - should have been commensurate with their somewhat hyped menu.
01/09/2020: We started going here in March, just before lockdown. Since they re-opened we have been frequently. Lovely staff, excellent tasty food. They are to be praised for great service and good value prices. As said by many others probably the best in the area.

Cellar Bistro

St Ives North, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
25/09/2020: We pre-booked two separate nights for a meal at Cellar bistro and weren't disappointed at all. We found this restaurant 2 years ago right at the end of our holiday and promised ourselves we would return here, which we did early September.Such a friendly atmosphere and incredible food and quality wine, we loved it and agreed that it was worth travelling 266 miles for! We can't recommend it enough.
24/09/2020: Best restaurant in st ives! Made to feel totally at ease with the current situation Lovely home cooked food. And a good selection of drink my wife loved the cocktails we will be back thanks Louise and Tony
