This is the best little tea room in Chester. We are regular customers and have always had amazing service and wonderful food. The girls are so lovely, nothing too much trouble for them and no matter what they are always so cheerful. We were there last week when the electricity went off 3 times and the place was so busy. Nevertheless, they carried on regardless made everyone so welcome and managed to feed us all as though everything was ok you are an amazing team. So a very big THANKYOU to Leonie, Jo, Claire, Nicky and Kay. See you soon

Great home cooked food. Need to book . Reasonably priced . well worth a visit but not the easiest place to find.

Three of us met for a short walk around the grounds and lunch in the café. It is a pleasant location with helpful staff. There are a variety of possible walks and seating both inside and out. It is a short menu with some specials. It was very tasty food.

Lovely food and service. Set in the grounds of Barrowmore Estate this lovely find is worth the visit. Full English breakfast was lovely and a very nice selective menu is available. Dog friendly too so bring your furry friend. Pleasant views from the conservatory looking over the gardens. I must point out that the previous review from whoever called it a drug rehabilitation is far from correct. The Barrowmore estate has been in existence a long time and is a charity who assist vulnerable children and adults. The Blubell cafe is set in the grounds of the large estate and is really worth a visit if you are passing . There is a lovely Menu available for breakfast and Lunch .

Well positioned next to what appears to be a drugs rehabilitation centre and a wasps colony this place serves above average food! The welcome was a bit frosty from the server but the food portions were generous! We’re wasps out number people by 2:1 the management must learn that it’s the guests that pay the bills and the wasps need to eat elsewhere!

Excellent place to go and eat. It’s so popular that you need to book a table before going otherwise you may not get one. Food all made freshly and staff are very pleasant and happy and are willing to go over and above to make your visit a good one.

Decided to pay a visit as not been for a while. Fantastic staff very helpful & friendly great choice of food all cooked to order and very tasty indeed. 1 Full Cooked Breakfast 1 Poached Egg & Avocado with Extras added 1 Scrambled Egg with Extras added We also took a couple of cakes home a Bakewell Tart ( very nice indeed ) + Lemon sponge ( Not tried Yet ) Will not leave the next visit as long. A gem of a cafe which I never knew existed! Delicious coronation chicken sandwich and salad with really good cappuccino coffee. Lovely surroundings too and will be back for sure!

Visited with friends and we all enjoyed ourselves. The tearooms are in a lovely setting in woodland. The staff were welcoming and the food was lovely. We had a brunch and toasted fruit loaf, everything was lovely. We will definitely visit again.

I visited The Bluebell today (Friday) for lunch with my husband and son. The seating was comfortable and the setting lovely. The food was absolutely wonderful, tasty and plentiful. We couldn’t fault it. The Bakewell tart was the best we’ve ever tasted!

We went with the kids and had all the egg dishes between us (and one Moroccan lamb). it was all completely delicious. The people are friendly and kind, the atmosphere is relaxed and scenic and the food is great. Highly recommend.

Wonderful cafe! Everything I ate was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Our party of five all enjoyed their food and it was clear the cooks put a great deal of care and attention into all the food. An added bonus that the cafe supports a charity too.

My family of 5 visited for lunch on a Saturday you wait a reasonable time because it’s cooked to order. Our food was outstanding my sister in law said it was the best jacket potato she had had (tuna melt), my goats cheese beetroot salad was sublime and everything was perfect, staff really friendly and attentive, never been here before but will return.

After an initial issue with a table, which was managed and sorted very well, resulting in a table being readied for us in the shade under the magnificent trees on the green area outside ( it was 35 degrees by the way) all went very well.The food and service were excellent. My Chicken Caesar Salad was delightful, my wife’s Stilton and Walnut salad was equally good and our friend’s all day breakfast he described as “ample and satisfying!”. The spot under the trees was idyllic on such a hot day. Very enjoyable and great value for money.We liked it so much we booked an afternoon tea with some other friends. One friend has a diabetic issue and the staff were extremely helpful in trying to sort this out for him. Will let you know how the afternoon tea goes.

We finally found the time to call in for a working lunch today and were genuinely impressed by the delicious offerings at this pretty little cafe. The menu is sophisticated, the food beautifully cooked and presented and the ambience is delightful. We are both committed ‘foodies’ and so for this cafe to have earned our unqualified admiration, should serve as a reliable recommendation to others. Do drop in for a lovely lunch, fabulous home-made cakes and the kind of friendly service you always want, yet so rarely find. The ethical credentials are exemplary, being a charitably-run cafe, with a heart. They are rightly proud of the marvellous eatery they have developed, under the talented management of Leonie. Well worth the drive out into the countryside, you’ll leave as impressed as we were, for sure.

A beautiful location and a spotless cafe. The lunch, salads for both of us and an excellent choice of deserts, were served by friendly and efficient staff. We will definitely return to this lovely little gem tucked away in the Cheshire countryside. Very well done everyone.

We booked here as a last minute plan because we were heading into Chester for the afternoon. This was because of the wide array of gluten free options which were on offer. The food was lovely, my hanging kebab was just what I fancied and had lovely Spanish flavours. My partner had tapas and said that the chicken wings were a bit dry but the prawns and scallops were a delight! Then for pudding the churros were delicious but there just wasn’t enough chocolate sauce. The service was lovely and not full on which was great.

Sandwiches were delicious with generous and varied fillings. Scones and all 3 types of cakes were "homemade" and very nice. There was a seemingly endless supply of tea and crisps.

On a dull wet Thursday my husband, grandson and myself visited this lovely place, set in woodland in the village of Great Barrow. We had booked as had been told it gets busy. We were shown to our table by Roz who is one of the volunteers. It's a charity and supports men with disabilities. There was another volunteer, Eileen and both ladies were really lovely. There were two ladies cooking, Leonie and Claire. Everything is cooked fresh from scratch in a tiny kitchen and the place was full. We were a bit slow choosing what to eat as there was such a great choice.

Met with friends for breakfast. Despite having lived in Christleton all my life, this was our first visit. Lovely location; the welcome and service were amazing and they coped with the needs of three small children very well! The food, ranging from Eggs Benedict to Full English was amazing - locally sourced and home cooked food. We weren't rushed, the smaller children were able to enjoy the lovely play area afterwards and have booked for a return (lunchtime) visit! Highly recommended!

The Bluebell is a clean, welcoming and lovely cafe. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere relaxing. It is not a 'fast' experience as everything is cooked from scratch.Your waiters are volunteers. So make time for something special.

We visited the Bluebell Cafe today and had the full English breakfast! We consider ourselves to be connoisseurs of cooked breakfasts and we were not disappointed and the poached eggs were done to perfection. You also get a decent pot of tea which gives many servings. So -10/10 to the staff.

My mum and I arrived at 10am with my 5 month old baby and sat in conservatory area. Pleasant service from staff. We both ordered veggie breakfasts and they were simply superb, fresh and tasty!! Particularly loved the quorn sausage and spinach and avocado extras. Really yummy and plenty of toast. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

But well worth a visit. Had been recommended, and initially we missed the turning. Lovely setting, with great opportunity for a walk, before or after eating. Very pleasant staff member chatted and food was good too. Well worth a visit.

Despite visiting the area frequently to visit family in Chester, I had never come across or heard of the Bluebell Cafe. We sat outside on comfy relaxed chairs under a parasol and also a transparent roof, it rained briefly but we were protected and glad for the breeze after the recent heatwave. Hazel made sure we were comfortable and when ready we headed inside to order (table service inside), our drinks and food were brought to us freshly made so expect a short but fair wait. Hot chocolates are delicious and the breakfast was amazing. All profits also go to the assisted living house you pass on the way. When approaching this cafe doesn't look like much, but when you go inside you'll see how much thought goes into everything they do. I will be recommending this hidden gem to friends and family for sure.

The Bluebell is set in a lovely village where I live and is a little gem if you just want to have a treat and be waited on. All the Food is prepared fresh when you order it which is made and served at a high standard. If you have children then there is a play area for them to play and have fun which is safe. Here you can experience life in a rural country area where you will have peace and quite away from it all. Parking is free and if you have a dog then it’s an ideal place to walk your dog on several footpaths. The Bluebell sell a book explaining the Footpaths in the area that you can walk along with or without a dog. Here it gets very busy so you may wish to ring and reserve a table if you are coming for lunch so as not to be disappointed.

This is such a little hidden gem of a cafe with such wonderful food!! The food is all fresh & served by a fantastic team. Leonie’s focus is on making the best food for the customers & this has always been her ethos! I knew straight away I wanted her chicken & crispy bacon sandwich, having tasted it years previously. We stopped here yesterday after finding the place on Tripadvisor. What a great little cafe, my Fiancee said it was "like one of those cafe's you read about in a good, it's really cute".

I have been coming to the ‘Bluebell cafe’ for about a year now, after seeing such good reviews. They have not disappointed me, all my meals breakfast and lunch have been very good quality and tasty, with value for money. The place itself is very pretty and has a lovely conservatory to look out of, with a view of the surrounding countryside. The service is also very friendly and polite, and everything is cooked to order. Can’t fault the cafe my fav in Chester to relax and enjoy good food.

Lovely location, and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The cafe is also did friendly. I would have given 5 stars if they could offer a few vegan options on the menu.

We can honestly say the FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. STAFF COULDN'T DO ENOUGH FOR US. BEFORE LEAVING ON OUR JOURNEY BACK TO CARLISLE we both knew where we wanted to go for an excellent breakfast.. back to the blue bell cafe. The vegetarian sausages are best ever. We arrived at the Bluebell Cafe and we're lucky to get the seat as all tables were reserves first tip reserve a table before going. The food was very nice indeed all homemade and made there and then no fast food nothing pre-made. We had poached eggs asparagus scones and lovely delicious meringues. The only thing I would say is do not go to the Bluebell cafe if you are in a rush as things take their time there a lovely walk can be done after to help digest all the yummy food definitely recommend going.

We stopped off with friends on the way to Chester. This tearoom had a nice menu and many homemade cakes. There was a hen party (well behaved) sitting inside so enough room for everyone. Plenty of seating outside. Reasonable price.

We absolutely love it here and always try to visit during bluebell season. The food is outstanding, a great range of options from a light snack to a full meal. Everything we have ever eaten has always been delicious. We would definitely recommend phoning to book, especially if you want a table over lunchtime. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you are in a rush, but for us that is the beauty of this place we know we will get amazing food in a relaxed way. If we wanted something quick we’d go to a chain restaurant where everything is microwaved. That is definitely not the case here, it is obvious that everything is cooked to order.

I have visited around 6 times and have never been disappointed so thought it was worth a review! Today I had trip of fish salad which was delicious. The cafe has a very relaxed atmosphere and a small park for young children. The food is freshly prepared so on occasion can take a little longer than expected, but is worth the wait. Also. I noticed today that all the inside tables were reserved so that’s something to consider if you’re going out of your way to visit. On the whole would recommend this place if you want to relax and enjoy good food.

Heard loads of great things about this place so decided to give it ago. Although the average age of customers was older it was still a really nice place to go for something different. Food was delicious, very fairly priced, great service. Although tables were reserved they squeezed my partner and I in so we could have lunch before people arrived. If you are tired of whats on offer in Chester this is a great place to go.

First visit to this Cafe. Bit smaller than we had imagined, but nicely decorated and it has a relaxed friendly feeling. It was a Wednesday lunch time and most of the tables were reserved (will definitely book for our next visit). Car park was full, not sure where everyone was as the Cafe itself was not full yet. We had scones with jam, cream and a pot of tea. Very nice good homemade fayre. We will be back to try other things from the menu soon.

Found on internet. Arrived without booking but were fitted in although they had a large party coming in for afternoon tea. Greek salad was very good as was the tuna salad on chibatta. All salad was fresh and everything was of good quality. Staff very pleasant and couldn't be more helpful. All in all worth the journey from Cheshire Oaks. If we are in the area again we will return.

We visit here almost every Friday and it’s a great start to the weekend. Everything is beautifully presented and really yummy!

I loved that the gluten free bread that my poached eggs were served on was the best I've had eating out, was plentiful and that someone took the time to tell me about it too. Can't recommend here enough.

From the little biscuit served with the gorgeously coloured latte, to the large mugs of cappuccino sprinkled with real chocolate its all beautiful. We try to make it a start to the weekend by going every Friday morning, it's that good. Good parking, disabled access and dog friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough.
