Popped in for Lunch whilst visiting Dartmouth and glad we found this Bistro The food was excellent and reasonably priced I had mixed seafood and it was lovely very nice place and pretty busy & we offered to shared our table with a couple of strangers and soon good chatting and having a great time, The owner appreciated us sharing the table as brought in a couple more customers who would otherwise have gone elsewhere, nice if others do the same - you never know you may get on and meet some lovely people will certainly return here the next time we go to Dartmouth

Very friendly people who provide tasty food in a park setting near to the River Dart. Prices are low, and quality of food excellent.

BETHS BY THE PARK - nothing like Beth’s Bistro?? !! Awful place, terrible value of their customers. Shouting at customers if a friend comes over with an item bought from elsewhere - even if just standing there, a member of staff repeatedly running out shouting at customers trying to humiliate them and their children, also swearing at them in front of children ! Unbelievable and shocking. It’s a park and it’s regatta! Although I imagine they always behave this way. - People meet up or pass through, it’s a park a public area. What a massive massive shame anchorstone left, it was far superior . Now taken over with cheap road side style hot dogs and chips, processed cakes in wrappers, nothing homemade, no ice cream hatch anymore. I could begrudgingly accept this unfortunate change, but the way we were spoken to and how we witnessed others experience abuse, it is something I have never had before in Dartmouth or anywhere else for that matter- Dartmouth a place we love and have been coming to for many many years. We will now avoid the cafe. But they will not stop our family and friends coming to the park. To sum up abusive member of staff, no value to customers and foul language in front of children, also poor quality food. Hope they’re not still here next year and that a friendly owner has taken over 🙏🙏🙏

Our family had a lovely lunch in the park. We have been to Beth's Bistro many times as it was one of our favourite places in Dartmouth. Now Beth and her team are concentrating just on the Park cafe. We have always found the people there to be really friendly and helpful. I have read some reviews recently which are simply unrecognisable of the place and people that I have always found.

Well we’ll well ! We are holiday and we decided to stop here as it looked a perfect family cafe ! I ordered two Coffees for 8€ to which my daughters had milk free snacks and a special Drink due to calcium defects ! As there allergy is severe we are very careful where they eat so we bring our own made snacks for non contamination ! We were all relaxing to which I can only put as a very moody lady comes over and says you can’t have this here as it has to be bought here I explained my children were severe milk allergy and we had just bought two coffees for 8 pound ! Not only did this make us feel uncomfortable but also my children were embarrassed ! Let me tell you greediness will not make you more money and learn some politeness in front of children ! Your cafe is outside and next to a park all people have various needs for different food ! I’m from London and you need to learn how to run a family business in a family park lucky my children was with me otherwise you would of been swiftly told my thoughts ! No wonder your business is empty most days hopefully people willl read this and will learn before you know it Dartmouth will just be Left with students no tourists due to greedy businesses

We stopped by Beth’s by the park in the morning for a coffee last week. It was lovely and we had a great chat with the man that works there. 7 out of the 8 members of the family members decided to return there for lunch as we had had such a pleasant experience in the morning. My husband was unable to join us for lunch as he has celiacs disease and unfortunately there wasn’t anything there he could eat. Whilst we went there for lunch, he popped into town and bought his own lunch which he ate whilst on his travels. He also bought food for his dinner that evening and returned to meet us at Beth’s. He popped his shopping bag in front of me to show me what he had bought (and bearing in mind that I had just eaten a large lunch there) and within a split second, a Scottish woman came out screaming to me that only food that was bought here could be eaten. This was not said in a polite or quiet manner. I was mortified. I could not even fight my case as her abuse was hurled at me and she quickly retreated! I have never been more embarrassed, as every other customer there was staring, also looking shocked! To treat anyone the way this woman treated me was unacceptable. I had already seen the copious amounts of signs stating only food purchased here could be eaten here and had no intention of eating my husbands dinner on top of the lunch I had just eaten. All of the good work the man had put in in the morning had been destroyed in a second and no amount of decent tasting coffee could EVER make me return to this place or recommend it to anyone again. Unless of course you are looking for one of those “Karen diners” experience.

Beth wouldn’t know customer service if it slapped her in face. People in customer facing roles should do much better. Good luck in the winter Beth

i visited Beth’s By the Park for some lunch with freinds and family as soon as we sat down the man approached us and said we couldn’t sit there as the tables were for customers only we explained we were waiting for more people, we then ordered some drinks while deciding what to get for food and my freind who has strict dietary needs was eating a small mouthful of fruit when the very rude scottish lady came over and shouted again we couldn’t eat there bearing in mind we were just about to order there was also other tables who had there own food but were not told off, went up and ordered at the till the women at till was very abrupt and not very friendly, ordered a £6! tuna sandwich for it to come slapped on a paper plate id expect it to come with a bit of garnish on the side or something and look a bit more presentable, they also shout out your order number the women behind the counter didn’t even give us a chance to stand up before she screeched out the number again, i can now see why most of the tables were empty! overall was an awful experience

Usually I’m not a lover of the eggs Benedict but I decided to try again and have hope I’m this place and it didn’t disappoint i guess it just depends on the days and who’s cooking!

We found Beth’s Bistro to be a lovely happy place with friendly staff serving quality food in a relaxed clean and well decorated bistro. It looks clean and welcoming when you walk in and it continues from there. A quality All Day Breakfast will fill you up for a day. The coffee is excellent and a mention too for the lemon sponge that is divine! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and it shows that the owner really cares about his customers. We will definitely return.

We had a lovely lunch, everything was freshly prepared. Dear second child is a bit of a fusspot but they were so helpful and accommodating which meant the rest of us could relax and enjoy the delicious food. There was a great range of things to eat including vegan and GF options. We hope to visit again.
