16/03/2020: My husband and I have been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants and this was not that. The ambiance and decor was outdated and the room temperature was slightly chilly, the service average and the food definitely did not meet expectations. We opted for the 3 course dinner and had advised of our dietary requirements upon reservation, unfortunately this was not really accommodated. As our main contained an alcoholic jus this was omitted and no replacement given, therefore the dish lacked a sauce bringing it all together. The only dessert we could have was the hazelnut souffle, this was taken off the bill after I voiced I didn't like it, however, that left us with a course down after waiting a while for it to arrive in the first place. My mocktail was served with a plastic straw (did not expect this from a Michelin star restaurant) and the dishes we did order were all uninspiring. However, the amuse bouche was tasty and we enjoyed the refreshing rhubarb palette cleanser. Overall though, I would avoid spending your money here, there are far cheaper and tastier restaurants in London worth your time and money.
16/03/2020: (Traducido por Google) Buena comida. Gran servicio (Original) Great food. Great service

CCCP Restaurant

Eastcliff, Thanet, <20£
07/03/2020: (Traducido por Google) Super Muy sabroso, me gustó (Original) Супер Очень вкусно, понравилось
02/03/2020: (Traducido por Google) Absolutamente brillante. Muy amable y buena comida. (Original) Absolutely brilliant. Really friendly and great food.

The Courtyard

Central and Northgate, Great Yarmouth, <20£
04/03/2020: The meal I ordered featured tough and fatty pork belly, which was mostly inedible, accompanied by vegetables and gravy with little flavour. I am baffled by the other reviews for this restaurant as I find it difficult to believe that the ‘chef’ who produced this meal, which lacked even an appropriate level of seasoning, is capable of maintaining the levels of excellence other patrons have commented on. My companion’s food was adequately cooked but also lacked flavour. An expensive and disappointing experience.
29/02/2020: I don't know what's best. The host and chef or the food he produces. The food is wonderful, freshly cooked and therefore they will deviate from their menu should you wish to change something. The host is wonderful. She is chatty and funny but knows when to leave you in peace to enjoy your meal. This is a tiny restaurant so booking is a must. For me, the best in Yarmouth. I just wish it was where we live rather than the in-laws!

Old Vienna Restaurant

Wellswood, Torbay
03/03/2020: We were recommended by a chef and it completely lived up to the recommendation. Although a little far out of town it proved not too difficult to find. The menu was as advertised and the food was exceptionally tasty. My only possible derogatory comment would be the coffee. In this day and age a proper barista machine is a must, not a vending machine that delivers an americano when a flat white was ordered. This would not prevent me returning however, and I can wholeheartedly recommended it.
(Original) A wonderfully authentic Austrian meal at Old Vienna! This was our first time visiting Torquay and were recommended this restaurant by our B&B. I have family from Austria so it was nice to get some Austrian food in the UK. The chef regularly came out to make sure everyone was happy with their meal, as well as bringing round a glass of schnapps. It was a comfortable and friendly environment.

Thewitchez Photo Design Cafe Bar

Queen's Park, Brighton and Hove
03/03/2020: Came here as it looked quirky and their Manager is a Jack Russell called Mr Shadow - whom I was keen to meet. The ladies that run the restaurant are super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant only seats about 20 people and you have to pay a £10 deposit when you book. It is lit with fairy lights and has a lovely ambiance. Nice retro music. They had draft beers and IPA which were very nice. We had the smoked cheese and herring starters which we shared. I had a pizza which was nice, but my friend had sea bass on sauerkraut with the baby hooves (potato dumplings) which I wish I had had, even though the pizza was lovely. We met the manager who was very discreet and approachable. Not had such a nice meal in a long time in such a nice place. Book to avoid disappointment.
28/02/2020: What a great place! I booked this as a surprise for my hubbie’s bday and he loved it. The atmosphere was just right, small so only a few tables. The menu was really broad and the food was fantastic. Not too pricey including the wine. The attention and friendliness from the staff was outstanding - it’s been a while since I experienced service this genuine and welcoming. Can’t recommend it enough.

Mr H's

Ambleside and Grasmere, South Lakeland
13/02/2020: Visited Ambleside for the day yesterday so popped in for lunch to Mr H's. As usual the staff were attentive and couldn't be more helpful. My husband and I decided on the soup & sandwich deal they had, £7.50 great deal. Homemade tomato soup which was delicious and Cumbrian Ham sandwich. Ive never tasted ham so good, it was scrummy. The surroundings in the cafe are really interesting and quirky. Keep up the good work guys. We will be back
16/01/2020: We came for lunch with our two daughters, one being obsessed with tomatoes and they were only too happy to make her a tomato sandwich. Myself and my husband had the bacon and Cumberland sausage sandwiches, just what we needed after a 6mile walk! Hearty portions and the white chocolate was to die for. We’ve since ordered some as it was so good. Already looking forward to our next visit.

The French Table

St Mark's, Kingston upon Thames
14/03/2020: Lovely a la carte meal. Good attentive service. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Ambience is nice. Unexpected in a slightly off pitch location
13/03/2020: Superb meal. This was the first Friday we could get near his birthday (early Feb!!!)

Bistro Bar Med

Duke's, Sefton, <20£
15/03/2020: Absolute perfection - Gino pulled out all the stops. Food, entertainment and value for money was excellent. Every attention to detail and all staff along with Gino created an amazing atmosphere which brought the very best out of everyone who came - couldn’t fault or even suggest anything that could have been done better - excellent doesn’t quite describe how the experience was.....
13/03/2020: Had lovely meal in warm and comfy surroundings. Host very friendly and service was great!! Five min walk from train station. We will return

The Red Lion Inn

Llangarron, Herefordshire, County of, <20£
18/03/2020: Called in for lunch with a friend just on the off chance. What a good decision. Great friendly staff and good food. We both had a 'small' portion - and we were glad we didn't have the standard, as it was super generous. A good criticism to give any establishment!! One will will definitely be visiting again.
07/03/2020: I have always loved the red lion, having a holiday home in the area it is our go to for a nice, chilled pub dinner. Never any hassle and usually always space, it makes for an easy, delicious night. We have been going to the red lion for years, when my grandparents were alive they used to love for us to sit in the conservatory, I believe the red lion has changed hands since but we now love to sit in the comfy inside, close to the fire if possible. Always great food choices, I now don’t eat meat and I can say it’s always a disappointment when I go because I miss the great meat options - especially chicken St David! Great veggie/fish options to cater for all. Huge, generous portions but somehow always manage to make room for a pud. The staff are lovely and the management are always keen to know how the meal has been and if you enjoyed the food. One time however, I was so stuffed I couldn’t eat much of my meal and they offered to charge me less for a smaller meal - I declined because the meal was excellent but it was such a kind offer that you don’t often receive. I love playing the card games on the table and am pleasantly surprised when I get an answer correct. All round a great night and good option for a cosy pub meal, equally nice in summer which a great surrounding view and nice floral garden. Very dog friendly. Couldn’t recommend more!

Micklegate, York
08/03/2020: My wife and I enjoyed the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The entire experience was first rate, from the excellent food, the outstanding service and, wine pairing that was spot on.
07/03/2020: We came here for Valentine's Day after years of never getting around to booking. Wow it was worth the wait! From the delicious homemade bread and appetisers, to a fantastic three course meal. Really couldn't rate it enough and it's easily up there with the best London restaurants. Service was flawless and it's more than worthy of the hype.

Gidleigh Park

Drewsteignton, West Devon, 45-60£
15/03/2020: Lovely birthday tea for my daughter. Plenty of sandwiches and cakes with lashings of freshly brewed tea
09/03/2020: It was good to see Gidleigh back to its best with a new chef & great service. We had the A La Carte menu for Sunday lunch & it was very well prresented as well as tasting well

The Galley

Seckford, Suffolk Coastal
09/03/2020: The Galley has become my go-to restaurant for excellent food and of course warm welcome from the owner and staff
08/03/2020: We popped in for Sunday Roast - OMG. Scottish Aberdeen Angus Sirloin with the biggest home made Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and trimmings. Incredible and cooked to perfection - the beef was so tender & wow the gravy! This is what Sunday’s are all about

The Chelsea Kitchen

Stanley, Kensington and Chelsea
08/03/2020: Having read the many complimentary reviews on TA my husband and I opted to dine here on Thursday 5th March and were not disappointed. We were given a very warm welcome by Jonny and courteously looked after by Kat. They took great time and effort to guide us as we chose the dishes and everything we had including Lobster Linguine, Calves Liver, Calamari, Tiramisu and Banoffee pie was delicious and beautifully presented. After the meal we were offered a complimentary Limoncello which rounded off a perfect, if rainy evening. If you are looking for fine cuisine and fantastic service we would highly recommend a visit. We’ll certainly be back when we visit London. Meanwhile we wish the team at The Chelsea Corner continued success. You deserve it! Thank you.
07/03/2020: Starter with scallops was excellent, main course, pan fried sea bass ok, but tasted a bit ”fishy”, the bass was probably not ”days catch”. The desert, banoffee pie, was good but not perfect. The white wines were excellent.

The Falcon

Hampton, Cotswold
07/02/2020: This fabulous restaurant is an absolute gem. A lunchtime gathering with ‘the girls’ was so good that we booked our next visit prior to leaving!
04/02/2020: Reserved the private dining room just off the bar which proved ideal for our party of 11, we all sat around a large table. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was quality ingridents, cooked to a good standard at a sensible cost.

Taj Tandoori

Coleridge, Cambridge, <20£
25/02/2020: A very pleasant and relaxing place to be, very interesting and varied menu (Bangladeshi, and also fusion - Indian/English and even Chinese), superbly cooked food, and very welcoming atmosphere, friendly, and charming staff, who clearly take pride in what they do, and rightly so. Very good menu range also for vegetarians / pescatarians. Highly recommended on all counts! I look forward to my next visit. Also v. efficient online booking system, which is a really helpful and convenient way of ensuring they have space for you. Booking is highly recommended by the way; it was fully booked when we were there. (Clearly very popular!)
23/02/2020: Really delicious food very reasonably priced and happy, welcoming staff. Highlights were the Dahl pakora as a starter and veg jalfrazi and a chicken cashew dish off the specialities. Will definitely return.
