Thank you ! Yet again a superb meal ! I had lamb amazing my partner had beef , pink and so tender . You run a friendly pub / restaurant with the best staff supporting you . You’re always so welcoming to us and we enjoy your company . Keep up the good hard work and know you’re well supported by us and hopefully everyone else.

Friendly staff. The waitress came to us as soon as we sat down with the menu. Food arrived in decent time and drinks were brought to us within minutes of ordering. Steak and fish pie were lovely and plenty of it. Puddings were great and a decent size. Definitely coming back

We camped at the Red Lion in the evening and booked in for Sunday lunch the next day. The campsite suited our needs and had a nice grassy area for the dogs to run around and a area for removing our black water and filling up our water tank. They also had electric hook ups. All of which was very reasonably priced. The Sunday lunch was fantastic. Great atmosphere and high quality food. We will definitely be coming back.

The food was great, and plenty of it for each helping, the service was good and the land lady is lovely, polite and a great host, a warm and welcoming pub.

I am a fussy eater (basically a carnivore) started with the pork ribs and thought if the main course special of lamb shanks are half as good as the ribs I have won a watch. The lamb shanks were just as well cooked so one very happy diner

We never tire of this family run pub , Kath and Dave thank you ! Dave the roast Sunday lunch perfect , the beef and lamb superb and the rest goes hand in hand , just perfect. Kath so lovely to see you and looking great . Back in October !

We booked a 19 party family Sunday lunch (ages 3mths to 85yrs). We had a great spot in the conservatory. The service, lunch and place were absolutely spot on. The food particularly was perfect. We then retired to the patio outside, which was great for a family meet and the children used their play area. Our first visit (10 mins from Hereford) and a great find. We will be back. Ps the sausage roll slices on the bar for all were a real delight. Sums up the place/ team. Thanks all. Super time for us.

Spotted this little gem as we drove past and swung in on the off chance. Lovely old style pub, with friendly staff but we were told kitchen had shut 20 minutes earlier but they would check if they would squeeze us in, which they did, and we had fish and chips for two, chips were hot and plentiful and the fish was white, flakey, delicious and hot, will definitely pop in next time we are that way, nice to find a traditional pub selling good old fashioned pub grub, much better than a chain run place.

What a gem of a pub/restaurant. The Sunday lunch was excellent, cooked to perfection and the Eton mess to die for. Service from all staff was so efficient and welcoming - can’t praise you all enough. Bonus was the choice of meal size - how wise. A perfect holiday treat.

We had family staying with us including our 3yr.old grandson, Our son googled local pub with a childrens play area. The Red Lion popped up so we decided to have a look. What a fantastic play area for children under 10 yrs. old. our grandson loved it. It was Sunday when we visited and people both indoors and outdoors were enjoying Sunday lunch food, which looked on presentation to be fabulous. We asked Kath if we could look at the regular menu, and could we take one with us as we have a holiday let. The menu looks very inviting and we will certainly be trying food from it very soon, in fact tomorrow afternoon looks good (27/05/24). There is a choice of 3 meals on the Kids Menu which includes a free soft drink & vanilla ice cream with a cone. At £6.95 which we think that is more than reasonable. We are mega impressed with the menu in general but what particularly impressed us was the fact that they offer smaller portions with 4 of their main meals. This, we think is a very good idea because as some of us get older we can't eat huge amounts of food. Can't wait to check it out. Icing on the cake for us is the fact that they have a camping/caravan field adjoining the pub. So its food/drink/live music and a stop over. What a gem. Barry and Carol.

Excellent Sunday lunch - tender meat, fab roast potatoes and well cooked vegetables - all hot and all good. Really great that they offer different size meals as this suited everyone. My husband says the best bread and butter pudding he has ever had - and he should know!

We stayed here overnight in our motorhome and enjoyed a fabulous meal and a few drinks. Ribs /chilli prawns to start. I had the Chicken St David for my main (delicious and served with potato dauphinoise and a selection of vegetables), my husband had the Sizzling Duck Platter. Lovely ambience in the pub, the staff were very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

This place is truly amazing, it never fails to impress, every time we visit ! And so it should be, Kath and Dave have been doing it long enough !! Today, I had one of their beautiful homemade pies, Lamb, apricot, mint and feta cheese, with mash and fresh local vegetables ...😀 Lovely clean traditional pub, with proper values, and fantastic outside areas to sit .....highly recommended 👍

Top quality food and freshly prepared fantastic staff, ideal parking for our camper van for a nights stay. 5 minutes from Ross on wye and about 15 minutes from Hereford if you planned on stopping longer. We will definitely be going back very soon.

Stopped here for food travelling from Wales to Stratford. Very friendly welcome, really homely pub with food. We ordered cheddar ploughmans lunch which was so lovely. Plenty of proper cheddar, chutney, coeslaw, salad, very crusty and very tastey bread and yummy salty butter. Really filled the gap! We ordered a bowl.of chips each but were very honestly recommended to share one and she was right! Beautiful crunchy chips, loved them. To drink i had a large pinot which was beautiful. So glad we stopped here and would love it to be my local. Specials board looked amazing.

Lovely lunch at the Red Lion as always, food was excellent and the lass serving couldn’t have done better. We do return time and time again even though eating out is now something of a luxury.

Booked this due to more recent reviews and we weren't disappointed. I had the liver and bacon woth onion gravy and it was perfectly cooked. Others said the cod and chips, lasagne amd steak were all very good. A big thanks to the waitresses who were excellent and worked their socks off

Turned up without booking looking for sunday lunch. Waitress greeted me instantly and checked availability. Although very busy they swiftly turned a table and seated us. Drinks offered. Bought promptly with menu. Great range of roasts in varying sizes to meet everyone's appetite and dietary needs. Service was best experienced in hospitality in past year being in UK. Price right, quality good. Great friendly efficient staff. Will definitely be back.

Luckily found this place on a pub stopover site,EHU is £15 and the food is simply superb,Alan the chef only provides quality home cooked fare,this genuinely is a hidden Gem,places like this,these days are few and far between,very hospitable landlady and i sincerely hope business picks up for her,fantastic clean proper local pub,5 stars

Excellent is the word! Greeted by a lovely lady serving us drinks and the menu was fab! I had a fillet steak with proper chips and all the trimmings with a peppercorn sauce and my partner had Pie of the day, which he said was best pie ever. We will definitely be back.
