The Olive Tree

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
01/02/2019: Had lunch twice in a four day visit to this friendly place, pity about the weather, but if the sun and visitors had a day out, I would advise to book a table, we timed it just right on our first visit and it soon filled up, the food was wonderful and the service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even managed to sit in a comfy chair for coffee after our meal, light bright and nice setting. And not overpriced for what you get.
15/01/2019: Lovely food, good service. A hidden gem can't believe it took me so long to eat here! One of my top recommended places to eat in St Merryn.

The Old Bank

Snettisham, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, >100£
14/02/2019: Fabulous little restaurant- food is just lovely, service is excellent- we have been there twice now and will definitely go again. Lovely
13/02/2019: Went here for lunch with 2,friends. The meal was ok but nothing special. Surprised as people were raving about it.

Crave Ice Cream

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight, <20£
12/02/2019: Fantastic ice cream and so many flavours to choose from, also do Gluten free cones, fantastic 🤗🤗🤗
05/01/2019: We are blessed with several great Ice cream makers on the Isle of Wight and I have tried ( and enjoyed) them all!

Food by Breda Murphy

Whalley, Ribble Valley, 20-30£
15/01/2019: Always great food here...Very tasty. However I would like to appeal to put both the Halloumi Rosti and Chocolate Brownie with peanut brittle back on the menu. We crave both and haven't had a dish that feeds that craving since the menu change :)
15/12/2018: High quality meals, excellent service from staff. Our party of 18 was well catered for.

The Ancient Mariner Bistro

Looe East, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
02/01/2019: Mark and Mel, thank you so much for the best New Years Eve we have ever had! Your hosting makes us feel like we are visiting friends, the food is so well thought out and the taste is unbeatable! Every meal we have had with you we end up talking about for ages after because it is always so good. We cant wait for our Valentines visit and of course next New Years Eve too! You guys please keep doing what you are doing, its a treat to look forward to when we book in. Rebecca & Nick x
23/12/2018: A lovely little bistro restaurant. Food was delicious and very fresh. Our party ate scallops, mussels (which were huge!), chowder, monkfish and plaice. All cooked beautifully. Not too much fuss, fairly simply presented but cooked perfectly. All ingredients are sourced locally.

The Beer Engine

Newbrooke, Mid Devon
29/01/2019: My partner and I went here on a recommendation to try the ‘Scotch egg’. And if I am brutally honest, it did not disappoint. However, unfortunately the main meals we ordered were nothing amazing and seemed pricey for what it was. The burger was nothing to rave about and the fish was very greasy. The location and pub itself is great and everyone working there seemed friendly. I wish I had 2 scotch eggs or shared 4 starters between us instead. I imagine it’s a great place to sit outside in the summer. But, If you ever find yourself in this area, definitely try the scotch egg!
27/01/2019: Like other people have said, the scotch eggs are to die for! We also had a roast dinner which was excellent. Thoroughly recommend the food here, it has a nice atmosphere and good service too.

Rest A While Tea Garden

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
26/01/2019: In the searing heat of last summer we stumbled across this tiny little pit stop on our walk from Padstow. As it is a small quaint tea shop I really didn't expect the quality of food. Quite simply the freshest, most delicious crab sandwich I have ever had. Be sure to stop here whatever you do!
15/01/2019: Tucked away on just off the coastal foot path at Hawkers Cove this is a small peaceful place to refuel and rest. I had a fantastic cream tea. Outdoor seating only. So go on a lovely sunny day.

Ju Ju's Cafe

Ladywood, Birmingham, 20-30£
10/02/2019: Juju’s is easily my favourite place for Sunday brunch. I had the porky hash which is amazing and they were more than happy to swap the fried egg for scrambled. Despite it being busy all the staff are super lovely and the food came out quickly! I’ll be back again soon, thanks for another great Sunday brunch
10/02/2019: Just went there for Sunday brunch with hubby. Excellent service and great food quality. The chili beef nachos is so good! Highly recommend👍 Quite cosy atmosphere and friendly staff with smile on:) We will definitely visit back.

Rye, Rother, 30-45£
13/02/2019: Told about Knoops by friends who love chocolate, so visited quite
12/02/2019: Be prepaid to que. I am so thankful for trip advisor as it really does take you to the best places. Loved this little hot chocolatier place with so many flavours. They even done one for my two year old and they make the milk less hot. It was so yummy I’ll be back :-)

The Cocoa Tree

Helmsley, Ryedale
04/02/2019: Love this cosy friendly cafe we had a bacon baguette and sliced tomatoes and cheese on toast.... The food was excellent and the coffee was extremely good.
15/01/2019: Hi, visiting Helmsley this lovely cafe in castlegate gives you a lovely welcome, great choice of food and drinks and a nice mix of locals and visitors, they really work hard to create a nice atmosphere, nothing is to much trouble, lots of cafes in Helmsley but this one stands out. !

Bellamy's Bistro

Sandown South, Isle of Wight
04/12/2018: Firstly the choice here is almost intimidating. It is vast, the menu is vast and the specials board is almost just as big. It took us over 20 minutes just to choose our dishes. All the food was excellent, this tiny packed restaurant deserves to be busy. The portions were huge so much so that there was no room for dessert. Happily return.
25/11/2018: We were here for the first time whilst visiting with family, reserved a table for 5, first off very friendly and tentative waitress, think she may have been the owner.

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland, <20£
02/02/2019: Firstly, the staff were so friendly, couldn’t be any more welcoming, especially for my 9 month old daughter. We ordered 2 original hot chocolates, 1 salted caramel and 1 amaretto - both fantastic. If you haven’t had one of their chocolates before they give you a small shot to try first to ensure you like how rich it is. We also had the special strawberry waffle which was great. Nice little place, would recommend.
31/01/2019: 非常用心的经营:进门递张纸巾擦一擦顾客眼镜。小杯让顾客品尝不同的热巧克力,喜欢再买大杯。4.5胖子一小杯,很不错!

Bistro 23

Lesbury, Northumberland
10/02/2019: We visited here for lunch. (Sunday)
04/02/2019: Table for 4 at 7pm 2/2/19. The place was barely populated when we arrived but soon filled. We've visited before but this was probably one of the best times. Four outstanding starters - 2 pheasant, 1 ravioli and 1 gravadlax. Four perfect mains - 1 each of pork belly, braised beef, cod loin and chicken. One bottle each of Malbec (particularly good) and Cab. Sav. Throw in 3 coffees and 3 a few desserts and a bill a touch under £170. Great value, great service and a great night all round.

Wayfarer Bistro

Fylingdales, Scarborough
30/12/2018: Outstanding meal at the wayfarer again everything made from scratch the steaks are to die for the best blue cheese sauce I have ever tasted!! The fish dishes are also out of this world!!
28/12/2018: Our favorite restaurant in Robin Hoods Bay, booked our table well in advance. Visited this evening, enjoyed beautiful food, prosecco and great service. Wish we lived nearer then we could eat here more often! Had the tempura prawns ( Including a fabulous gluten free version), sea bass, fillet and rib eye steak. All cooked to perfection by a great chef. Can't wait for our next visit.

Four and Twenty

Penrith South, Eden
11/02/2019: An early bird stop on a journey south for my son and myself. The place barely open at 6.00, but the welcome was cheerful and warming. A large dining area with a homely array of tables. On offer was a three course table d’hote for £20 a head. There was a choice of three items for each course. We both opted for the soup. Tomato, red pepper and fennel - the balance was just right. It was delicious. Fish was served on a bed of colcannon mash with a dressing of almond flakes and pieces of grilled pancetta served with a purée of asparagus. We shared each other’s sweets. A delicious sticky toffee pudding and smallportions of cold rice pudding served with a compote of I think apricots. Presentation was Master Chef. Everything was freshly prepared,so don’t go here if you want a fast food stop. There was an easy atmosphere and the service was gently unobtrusive. A delightful find on a wet and windy journey.
17/01/2019: We had often passed this place and wanted to try. We were not disappointed! We were met by a very pleasant young waiter who was warm and polite towards us in taking our order and in the serving of it. The menu choice was good with cooked to order food. The presentation was impressive, the taste was wonderful. The atmosphere is good, very relaxing. We certainly enjoyed our first visit but this will not be our last. This was certainly good value for lunchtime.
