The Olive Tree

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
15/08/2018: We arrived spot on 6.30 last Friday and were greeted by Flo & Kevin who presented us with a card and two glasses of bubbly! Dipping bread then the starters which were delicious : mushrooms and goats cheese. For the main we both had the shoulder of lamb with mixed veg. Yummy. Dessert was lemon cheesecake and chocolate pannacotta. Mmmmm. A most enjoyable couple of hours. Thank you.
15/08/2018: Visited for our 6th year in a row, whilst on holiday. Another fab visit- great food, freshly cooked and warm, friendly service. You need to eat here, but be warned, you will need to book, it gets busy!!

Scott & Babs

St Keverne and Meneage, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
30/08/2018: The rave reviews about Scott and Babs are well deserved. The setting is out of the way and totally unexpected, a bit quirky, unusual and informal - a bit san franciscan boho . The service is relaxed and very friendly and kitchen all open plan so you get to see how hard they work. A quirky place isn't enough alone, the food needs to be good and it is excellent from great pizzas and bread to a wonderful massaman sauce on mussels, with high quality ingredients and fresh tasty salads. really impressed with it all and well worth the trek
29/08/2018: Recommended by a friend and managed to book a table - you will need to book in advance. We were unable to get our preferred night even with a weeks notice. Not easy to find so allow a few minutes extra - all part of the fun. Its a quirky looking place both outside and in but what a place it is. You will not see a sample menu on the website as it is changed daily depending on what's freshly available. Only 3 choices of main course plus wood fire pizzas. We had a starter of shell on prawns followed by Cornish Cod and a chocolate brownie to finish. The food is amazing, all freshly cooked in the open kitchen and on a par with anything you will be served in restaurants charging far more that here. The atmosphere is relaxed with music playing and entertainment on certain nights. I believe most nights end up as a party night. If you are anywhere near, this place has to be on your go to list.

Crave Ice Cream

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight, <20£
18/08/2018: We visited Crave today having seen their top rating via Facebook. We were not disappointed! The live creams we had were delicious. We'll be back again this summer. And every other holiday!
18/08/2018: Kids were dying to try, can only say it’s the best tasting EVER. Great choice, Pina Colada and Rum & Raisin tasted so good as did all the others! You need to visit if in the area.

The Old Bank

Snettisham, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, >100£
29/08/2018: Just moved to Norfolk and wanted to find a semi local place that was under an hours drive from our home. First strike and we hit a winner! Fab lunch, great service and the food tasted as it should and perfectly cooked.
27/08/2018: Snettisham is not a place we have visited before on our regular trips to Norfolk. In future we will ensure that we visit regularly.

Rest A While Tea Garden

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
17/08/2018: We came across the cafe at the end of our walk.perfect timing after a long walk on a hot morning. The coffee was perfect and cake really was a delightful experience. Certainly recommend seeking out Rest a while tea garden when near Padstow.
17/08/2018: We knew nothing of this tea garden when we made the walk out of Padstow towards Hawkers Cove with our 7-year old son, but my husband was drawn by the prospect of tea and we found ourselves sitting in the tea garden with the most wonderful view. Even better was when the lemon drizzle cake arrived - it was fantastic (my husband had to stop me from ordering a second)! We heard other customers raving about the crab sandwiches while we were there so we will definitely be coming back just to try those - and have a bit more lemon cake! Thank you so much for such an unexpected pleasure today!

Fat Apples Cafe

St Keverne and Meneage, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
01/09/2018: In the area so took local recommendations and they weren't wrong. Lovely location to have a drive or walk to. The full english is £9 and I thought this is a bit step compared to cafe prices but I was set for the day after eating it. I have had Full english breakkies for 30 years and this has got to be the best one ever. It was a breakfast with the added touches but wasn't poncy chef food. Everything was full flavour and the touches were enough. Also at the table was a Bacon Sandwich which was devoured and the pancakes went a storm. All in all if you are on the Lizard it is a place to go to. We will be making it a go to place when we retrun to the area.
27/08/2018: A lovely hidden gem which we visited on a visit to St. Keverne in Cornwall. Friendly staff in a rural setting. Delicious homemade cakes, scones and salads. More than generous portions, clean and atmospheric. Will visit again.

The Brasserie

Poulton, Lancaster, <20£
19/08/2018: We booked a table here and received a lovely welcome , very attentive service. Food was superbly cooked and beautifully presented the taste of food was excellent. Can’t wait to return.
19/08/2018: We made a 70 mile journey to try this place, and boy was it worth the journey!! Myself and my husband both had the meat meze and all of the dishes were exceptional it and plenty of. Very good value for money, you definitely won't leave hungry. The atmosphere was lovely too we were made very welcome by Lazarus and his team, and as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we were very kindly given a glass of complimentary fizz. We will definitely return.

Food by Breda Murphy

Whalley, Ribble Valley, 20-30£
28/08/2018: Had the pleasure of visiting Breda Murphy's Restaurant for dinner last week with my family and it surpassed all expectations. The warmth of the greeting, the cleanliness of the establishment, the ambience, the beautiful decor and most especially the food would leave many a good 5 star Restaurant/Hotel in the shade. A return visit is top of our list.
23/08/2018: Superb food served by a delightful team. This is the best lunch we have experienced for a very long time. All the food was lovingly cooked and served, in particular the bread & butter pudding is just out of this world...mmm... so, so good. Cannot praise it enough.

Falmouth Arwenack, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
17/08/2018: Everything about the evening was perfect. Warm welcome, nice sized restaurant, vegetarian options and child friendly (but no kids menu, just share !).
14/08/2018: Booked based on trip advisor reviews. Small, friendly and well run with excellent fresh food, cooked to order. Couldn’t fault it. Make sure you book in advance. Calamari starter- delicious.

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland, <20£
29/08/2018: Called in today for a family treat. I had a chocolate milkshake and my Mrs had a banana milkshake, we shared the cherry and cream waffle. Service was good, nice little place with friendly staff and the food and drinks were great! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a bit of indulgence.
27/08/2018: This little shop was amazing and had a little something for everybody. You must go there for their rich hot chocolate which is to die for. Then they also have churros to dip into melted chocolate, little chocolates with various fillings, and amazing ice creams. We were in heaven. Everything tasted amazing and we will be returning soon.

SeaDrift Kitchen Cafe

Porthleven and Helston South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
27/08/2018: Popped in and had a lovely cream tea. Great price and 2 huge scones. Could have done with 2 cream as the pot was tiny. Polite friendly staff. Pizza looked amazing, wish we hadn’t ate as we would have definitely had 1
24/08/2018: I stayed in Porthleven for a few nights this week with a friend. Knowing how good restaurants in Cornwall get booked up in the summer, we researched and booked the ones we wanted to go to weeks ago. I'm so glad we did! All the restaurants we visited were great but Sea Drift was far and away our favourite. It's a small coffee shop by day but don't let that fool you - in the evening it transforms into a beautiful restaurant with an incredible, creative and extensive specials menu which changes according to whatever the chef is inspired by. The sea food couldn't be fresher and is not to be missed but they also provide steaks, chicken etc which is equally as tasty. There are only a few tables and they obviously space out their bookings so that customers don't have to wait long for their food to arrive. The service was friendly and attentive without hovering over you and they have a great wine list and cocktail menu. Try the gin and samphire cocktail - delicious!

2 Oxford Place

City and Hunslet, Leeds
19/08/2018: Fantastic family brunch, made even more special by the totally gluten free menu. It was a refreshing change for my mum and daughter to be able to choose whatever they liked to eat. We had the brunch menu, ordering haddock goujons, a burger, two ricotta & spinach baked pancakes and an open brie and bacon sandwich.
15/08/2018: My boyfriend took me here for a birthday lunch. It was absolutely delightful! The service was fantastic. It was busy for a lunch time weekday, and the waiter, who was on his own was serving all tables fantastically. Services throughout was brilliant. The food delightful. I had the burger, and I couldn’t tell that it was gluten free. My boyfriend had the steak, and said it was the best peppercorn sauce he’s ever had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to dine in Leeds!

The Cocoa Tree

Helmsley, Ryedale
05/09/2018: Welcoming, cosy, & clean. Called yesterday for cream tea which was delightful. Hard working owners make you so welcome nothing is a trouble to them. Lovely atmosphere, so comfortable. We have found our 'go to' cafe in Helmsley.
31/08/2018: Excellent food and drinks. Clean and inviting. Dog friendly and made a fuss of our little dog. Very friendly and would recommend to all.

The Corner House Cafe

Grassington, Craven
17/08/2018: Very friendly staff. Service was a bit confused, delivery order unexpected and quite slow. Cakes very oversweet, tea and hot chocolate were average.
06/08/2018: Called in for lunch last week, superb food and excellent service,I would highly recommend this cafe, fresh produce and an excellent menu ,all home made

Les Saveurs at The Seafood Restaurant

Exmouth Town, East Devon
27/08/2018: We enjoyed our evening here: efficient, professional service; good food; good wine; good atmosphere; good setting; good value. Need I say more?
25/08/2018: We booked a table at Saveur after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor, for my mother's birthday. We were absolutely not disappointed. The owner, Kerry, was lovely, and very attentive to our needs. We dined with 2 children and, although a children's menu was not offered, the chef prepared a "made to order" meal for them both, which was simply delicious.
