Primrose Tea Rooms

Bovey, Teignbridge, 45-60£
14/10/2018: We come here fairly regularly with our toddler (usually just for cake and a drink) and have done since she was fairly small. We have always enjoyed it and as they are closing for the season soon we thought we'd pop in for lunch (and cake obviously) for a change. Oh my gosh! I only ordered quiche and salad - nothing special right? Wrong! The quiche was probably the nicest quiche I've ever had and I don't even know where to start with the salad! It was the most beautiful salad I have EVER seen! It would never have occurred to me to put such a variety of fruit in a salad but it was incredible. My other half had a sandwich and salad and was equally impressed. The cake and the service is always great - we wouldn't keep returning if it wasn't! So sad they're closing for the season, can't wait until spring!
13/10/2018: Comparable with Bettys in Yorkshire in terms of afternoom tea but more relaxed and great fot walkers. Cakes and scones are home made. Portions are large and good value. Always a highlight of a visit to Devon

The Olive Tree

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
06/11/2018: A lovely cosy restaurant in St Merryn which is always a favourite. Excellent local produce, good service and nice ambience. Everything was very tasty, well presented and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Flo and her husband are very good at what they do, and we look forward to returning after they have had their well earned winter break. Enjoy!
01/11/2018: We found this place by chance while staying at Treyarnon Bay. Looking for somewhere to celebrate my birthday I looked at the menus for pubs nearby and, while they did perfectly good pub grub, they didn’t appeal to me. Fortunately, I remembered seeing this place as we had driven around St Merryn, and am I glad I had.

Scott & Babs

St Keverne and Meneage, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
07/11/2018: Living in a holiday resort I have to frequently entertain friends and relations who come to visit. Scott and Babs is always the first port of call for an evening out and visitors often feel compelled to eat here more than once or twice whilst on holiday.
01/11/2018: A very unusual venue, (within a holiday chalet site) setting with lots of quirky details - an iron as a door handle, toilets in a series of sheds within the restaurant, a patchwork fabric ceiling, suitcase full of glasses (you help yourself to the ones you want), open kitchen, all fresh fruit and veg on display..... so many more things.... a fascinating place with a smallish menu, but good selection and all tasty, nutritious and delicious. Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. A wonderful experience. Mains were around £15, and you got more than enough. Highly recommend.

The Old Bank

Snettisham, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, >100£
04/11/2018: The food and service just gets better, a bistro to be revisited time and time again The service and food are just so good. We will be back for sure
31/10/2018: From start to finish, IMMACULATE. Friendly, welcoming, wonderful food...totally flavoursome. You will need to book a table to get in!

Crave Ice Cream

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight, <20£
04/11/2018: Always excellent here. Staff are so friendly and helpful - letting you try the flavors before you buy. This time I had the apricot kulfi and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The two girls are Jaffa cake mad and and were delighted to try this cake/biscuit in ice cream form. The lovely staff made sure they both got ice creams topped with a whole Jaffa cake!
31/10/2018: We had violet and raspberry in a cup and ginger and vanilla. This is creamy and flavourful ice-cream, the kind that makes you want to try new flavours and come back whenever you're in Ventnor, regardless of the weather. Think of the best ice cream you've ever had. That's what you're in for.

Food by Breda Murphy

Whalley, Ribble Valley, 20-30£
06/11/2018: We were a party of around 30 and had the upper floor to ourselves. The staff and kitchen coped well despite this. the food was well above average, not outstanding, and reasonably priced. I would go there again.
25/10/2018: After all the good reviews and feedback, had to try this for myself. Was not disappointed. Booked a table for 1.00pm, glad we did due to the volume of people in the restaurant. Great service, not rushed. Had a soup of the day, delicious and a steak sandwich which was one of the best I have had. Wanted dessert but just could not fit it in. Fantastic restaurant, will definitely visit again. Only downside but can not be helped is the parking, not a huge parking facility BUT you can find parking one/two minutes walk away. Go and visit.

Rest A While Tea Garden

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
30/10/2018: Excellent views and food! It is a great place to stop during a walk! Highly recommend this cafe and the chocolate cake!!
24/10/2018: We come here whenever we are in the area and always receive a friendly welcome and excellent food. Looking forward to next visit.

Fat Apples Cafe

St Keverne and Meneage, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
12/11/2018: I've been here a couple of times and it's definitely worth the visit for anyone who hasn't yet tried. The staff are very friendly and their homemade food is lovely. We tried the full english breakfast followed by one of their chocolate brownies and some coffee - which didn't disappoint! If you're out this way and fancy a lovely quiet place for some food or for coffee and cake then I highly recommend!
06/11/2018: The Lizard Peninsula in south west cornwall is such an amazing place. It's like traveling to the end of the world. And its unique vegetation, wildlife and geologic characteristics make it even more special.

Les Saveurs at The Seafood Restaurant

Exmouth Town, East Devon
06/11/2018: For my birthday, we booked a meal at Saveur. What a great meal, the Steak was mouthwatering and the Raviolo was utterly delicious. Thank you, Kerry and Nigel for making my birthday so special.
03/11/2018: Very good restaurant serving some excellent food. They do some very good value set menu's for lunchtime. Some great food. Will return.

Smith Street Deli

Dartmouth and Kingswear, South Hams
03/11/2018: Great ambience, huge range of excellent products for sale, very nice and approachable staff, food is simply superb and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Should have guessed it was a popular place as it was full and lots of people turned up while. They don't have many tables but it didn't seem to take long for people to be able to sit and dine.
28/10/2018: We return to the deli every time we’re in Dartmouth, it’s part of our holiday. The coffee is great, cakes, scones to die for and fresh soup, warm tarts, fish and meat platters are the best! We look forward to seeing you again early in the New Year!

Susie's Tea Rooms

Appledore, Torridge, <20£
04/11/2018: We popped in for a quick tea and cake on a sunny Autumn afternoon. Our party of 7 adults and 3 children all under 4 with us didn't expect to be there long! The tearoom garden was a lovely setting (blankets and cushion provided if they were needed) and friendly staff making us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Our stay ended up with us all having lunch, cake, milkshakes in a truly relaxing setting thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The food was delicious and we would highly recommend a visit.
02/11/2018: Great breakfast served. Coffee a bit ordinary though. Very pleasant experience generally and friendly people. Will probably order a tea or hot chocolate, if available, next time.

Steam Bistro

Coniston and Crake Valley, South Lakeland
07/11/2018: Brief few days in The Lakes, stayed about 40 minutes away in Ulpha but had heard such good things I thought the drive would be worth it. I wasn’t disappointed. I had the gyoza to start which was cooked to perfection, followed by the feather blade beef which was incredible, again cooked to perfection, sweet and full of flavour. For dessert I had the much anticipated sticky toffee pudding, for this I demanded utter silence from my wife, this was a special time, this was man and pudding, in perfect harmony...utter bliss. I digress... The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It’s BYOB but that’s never an issue, good selection of quality soft drinks on the menu. Wherever you stay in The Lakes, go here, you won’t regret it.
06/11/2018: Another excellent visit. It may look ordinary from outside but inside it’s warm, welcoming and relaxing with a friendly, happy atmosphere.

The Brasserie

Poulton, Lancaster, <20£
10/11/2018: it was our first visit to try out Greek food, disappointing would be the word .Starters were good, beans were good , meat was tasteless Friendly staff
04/11/2018: Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Staff are wonderful and very accommodating. No doubt we will be back very soon!

Penny Black

Lyme Regis, West Dorset
30/09/2018: My wife and I visited for breakfast, the food is delicious in a 50's environment with lovely background music, excellent service and of course brilliant food, lovely place to visit and eat.
23/09/2018: We were visiting Somerset for the weekend with my family (8 people). We decided to spend a very wet and windy day at Lyme Regis. After walking around for a while looking for somewhere to eat, my dad spotted the sign for Penny Black, not many places were big enough to fit us all in, but we were very lucky that we caught this place at a quiet period. The staff, even though most were young adults, were so friendly and welcomed us all in. They all served us with a friendly smile, adjusting the tables to ensure that we sat together, without looking like this was a burden on them. The food was, like the service was impeccable, faultless to even say. Everything was homemade, and all looked delish! Not one of us left a drop!

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland, <20£
11/11/2018: We read the reviews and we're not disappointed. They customised the waffles to our wanted toppings and oh my were they good. The waffles I've had in the past have been hard to cut but these didn't even need a knife. So soft and fluffy, even the gluten free ones!
05/11/2018: After finding this little Gem on TripAdvisor before leaving Wales, it was as good as the other reviewers said and the staff we really lovely and helpful.
