Rose Cottage Cafe

Hope Valley, High Peak, <20£
14/06/2019: Stopped here for some light refreshment whilst motoring around some of the Derbyshire villages. There is no parking here, you have to aprk in the nearby pay and display car park next to the visitors centre. Disable/Blue Badge park for free. Its not far to walk to Roase Cottage from the car park, but if you are a wheelchair user, its up a bit of a hill. Its nice inside and we were warmly welcomed. We just had rea, coffee and scones. Have to say the scones were really nice. You order at the counter and your order is brought to your table. Some intersting reading material on the table which gives you a little bit of history on the place, nice touch I thought. All in all and enjoyable coffee break for us.
09/06/2019: Good menu for breakfast and reasonably priced. Nice environment with both inside and outside seating. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Nice touch on the table with a history of Rose Cottage made for interesting reading.

The Green Man

Bassingham and Brant Broughton, North Kesteven
15/06/2019: Three of us lunched here on a Saturday lunch time. The restaurant was full, so we were glad that we had booked. The menu, whilst not very extensive, was sufficient for all of us to choose different starters and main courses. We all enjoyed our respective courses and commented on how good the food was.
09/06/2019: This restaurant was the nearest to our holiday let so it we decided we should give it a go. On another more pleasant evening we could have walked there. The welcome we received was like we had been there a hundred times. The food was superb with all four of us having different starters and mains. I would recommend the Duck Skewers or Crispy Chili Beef to start. The Rib-eye Steak was perfect, the Green Man burger was lovely. One of our party had the Mussels and the other had the Pie-in-a-Pan. It was all delicious. The portion size, after a starter, was a bit too big but we didn't leave much.

The Woodhouse Arms

Glen Eden, South Kesteven
17/06/2019: Sunday lunch menu, you can't go wrong. Makes a change not to have a carvery, and have table service. Excellent value and choice, the place was full, need i say anymore.
29/04/2019: Will be returning very soon. Visited for a family birthday, the service was great and the staff very friendly. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Nice atmospheric pub with good decor. Large car park.

The Wheatsheaf

Langham, Rutland
08/06/2019: Visited here a few times when meeting up with family and we keep coming back because the food is always good. They’re happy to tweak the menu to your requirements and offer a pretty good vege menu too. On this occasion I had the slow cooked beef with dauphinois potatoes, vegetables and gravy and it was gorgeous, melt in the mouth. Their puddings are always good but we usually end up sharing one as we’re always full. The beer was good and they have a massive selection of gins etc.. We will definitely be back when we’re over that way.
18/05/2019: We picked this as a half way meeting point. Steak and ale pie was special, good selection of beers. A well looked after place. Refreshing to meet the landlord who genuinely wanted to make everything that bit special. Hats off to you sir!

Bridge, Nottingham, <20£
17/06/2019: The staff were very friendly and clearly explained the menu and the ordering process. There was a great range of tapas including an interesting selection of vegetarian options (such as tempura asparagus). All our chosen dishes were really tasty! It was a super way to try out and share a variety of tapas. Highly recommended!
15/06/2019: Package included - reception drinks, floating tapas, churros for dessert.

Elmtree Pub

Scarcliffe, Bolsover
15/06/2019: The whole experience from ringing up to book to the evening out at the Elm Tree was excellent. Being a party of 9 we were asked if we would like a private room upstairs. We were allocated the gallery so we could all sit round a square table and be able to talk to each other. The staff were very attentive and friendly as they always are especially Chloe who served us tonight. Food was excellent and good value for money and was all home cooked. Perfect evening out. Would highly recommend for any occasion and at anytime of the day.
12/06/2019: I just love this place . Lovely cosy atmosphere. Quality food . Great village gastro pub . So lucky to have it ether a few mins drive or a great country (45min) walk from my village in Clowne.

Hay Barn Cafe

Caunton, Newark and Sherwood, <20£
15/06/2019: Decided to visit for Saturday lunch after seeing the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Staff were excellent and very apologetic for us having to wait for a table, although looking at the food that was leaving the kitchen, we were more than happy to wait our turn. Once we were seated, service was friendly and very efficient. Food for all 3 of the party was excellent, freshly cooked and good sized portions. The ploughmans is highly recommended. Would definitely return, probably to try the breakfast next time.
05/06/2019: Lovely lunch here with our tiny baby, sat outside and the food came quite quickly which we appreciated as she started to grumble! It isn't cheap but the portions were good and it was fresh and tasty, would definitely recommend to people, puddings were amazing! Parking was good and easy to access. We probably wouldn't visit at the moment as outrlittle one is now walking and it was quite open/near the road. But as for me and my partner... we'll be back soon!

Eyam Tea Rooms

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales, <20£
16/06/2019: A great menu of sandwiches, jackets potatoes and breakfasts, but save room for the cakes and puddings! The best thing about this place though is the staff. Definitely recommend this place.
16/06/2019: Had been before and looking forward to it. Scrambled eggs of toast took a long time and undersized...tben overcharged at the till (check your order against the prices)

06/05/2019: Called in for a pot of tea and a toilet break. What a lovely clean welcoming cafe and the toilet should win an award as together with the cleanliness, birdsongs music and gallery of the local dogs it was delightful. Hope to call again and next time for food as it looked yummy.

Hollys Coffee Shop & Sandwich Bar

Castle, Leicester
12/06/2019: Tiny and beautiful café with delicious sandwiches and great coffee. Perfect place for a calm breakfast. Also good for working an hour or two. Vegan/vegetarian friendly. I got the grilled halloumi and mushrooms toast (asked for extra tomatoes) with coconut latte. It was a great choice!
08/06/2019: My wife and I wanted a lunchtime snack before shopping for fruit and veg at Leicester Market. We spotted the specials board outside Holly's and I fancied the beef and stilton granary toastie, while she opted for the salmon and cream cheese. We each added a mocha coffee, which was like a chocolate cappucino.
