A very welcoming small cafe with a big range of excellent appetising options. We separately sampled very tasty bacon and sausage cobs with equally good coffees. We saw the range of sandwiches and paninis, soups, and cakes available too. All these are home made in house. The locals clearly know it is the best around as it was busy with take aways too. We are tourists and will certainly come again when we are next in the area

Fantastic little eatery in Buxton. We got a really friendly welcome when we arrived. Very large choice of sandwiches, rolls, cakes, teas and coffees. They also have three daily specials (change every day) - I opted for one - chicken tikka in toasted naan bread - it was so tasty and really filling. It came with a superb mixed salad. They have a couple of inside tables which we sat at. Overall it’s a cracking place, great food, good value and everyone who works there is super friendly. We 100% recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

How good to find a cafe where the food is all prepared on site and in view. Most of the trade is takeaway but we were able to reserve 2 seats for lunch and enjoyed the lavish Hippy and Coronation Chicken salads. The proprietors could not have been more welcoming. Highly recommend and thank you. Only location prevented 5 stars to us.

In Buxton for a few days on a room only basis. So seeking out good breakfast spots. After reading reviews of Eat@ No5 I walked up this morning. So glad I did. Mark greeted me and took my order for a Full English breakfast with Americano. Both excellent, both hot, so important. Great quality food and the Deli items look delicious too. Nice chatting to you Mark, you deserve to do well.

Read the rave reviews so felt time to try eat at No 5 ... sadly not that good , wife's salad was fine and I ordered a BLT with mayo ... not sure where the idea mature cheese should be added and become the overriding flavour and worst of all not only did I not expect cheese to be on a Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich I don't eat strong cheese so sadly was a waste of money... a bit like ordering a cheese sandwich and finding bacon in the middle of it... Can't recommend on my visit as my opinion is only based on my visit.

I travel the country for work purposes and whilst in Buxton I popped into this well presented shop expecting a “butty shop”. This was far from it as for presentation, selection of foods and options of pre-prepared evening meals to go.. it was amazing. As a business owner myself the attention to detail put into this business was great to see. Even having a menu display of a taste of the worlds foods with corresponding ideas for lunch etc.. just great. As you can tell from my EXTREMELY positive feedback the hot hunters chicken on a seeded balm was so tasty! Overall very satisfied, it’s a shame I live 70Miles away or I would be a regular.

I called into the place just for morning tea when I was going to buy bread next door. I chose a flapjack to have with the tea and the portion was generous, so I thought I might have to take some home in a napkin. In fact it tasted so good that I ate the lot without meaning to. Friendly atmosphere, people popping in who seemed to be regulars, and pleasant music playing. I glanced at the menu and saw they dud dishes like homemade hummus, so I plan to go back to try that. Just down a small de street of the main shopping road next to the artisan bakery. I noticed that they are dog friendly too so may call in with my furry friend.

Having noticed this cafe on my way out of Buxton and read subsequently the Trip Advisor reviews, I decided to visit for lunch. Despite the food choice covering a wide range, all of it is prepared to order and is deliciously fresh. As with other visitors, my dish was accompanied with a number of salads (rice, pasta, bean, leaves) and home-made dressings. Everything I ate was extremely tasty. The cafe is nicely decorated and provides free WiFi. What topped it off was the friendly approach of the owners - not just with me but with everyone that visited whether they were sitting in or ordering food for takeaway. It is easy to see why people would return here - it was a pleasure to eat here.

First thing you notice is the cleanliness spotless but not chemically clean. Next, a cheery welcome and a smiley face. The coffee was lovely, served in a big cup with a chocolate delicately balanced on the spoon. Such attention to detail makes this eatery a delight, there were even books dotted around for you to enjoy while you visited. The cake I tried was an "Easy ass chocolate and raspberry", the cake was moist and chocolatey but very rich with both icing and buttercream but other than that a lovely pace to meet and eat!

I always try if I've got time in my lunch break to come here as it's the best place! I had The Buddha Bowl recently, which was delicious! The tastiest salad bowl I've ever had! Excellent stop for food and drink! Very helpful staff!

Travelling through Buxton & time for lunch. With help from Tripadviser we found this wonderful cafe. We had delicious vegetarian meals - one a frittata & one a homity pie both with salads. A really lovely & welcoming place, not only excellent home-cooked food but very friendly & helpful owners. Fabulous - lucky Buxton!

Number 5 is incredible. Such a lovely couple. A very nice atmosphere every time I go in. Everything is home made. You’d be stupid to leave with out a cake! The full English is amazing. Not greasy at all, you even get lurpack! All salads, pies and quiches are gorgeous. If you want breakfast or lunch it’s very reasonably priced, very cosy and you can eat outside!

There are many cafes in Hope to choose from, especially on a bank holiday but the best one has got to be the Courtyard Cafe. Tucked away a little off the main street, it's quiet allowing you to hear your conversations but the absolute best thing are the chips! The chip butties are amazing! The chips are crisp and properly sized! Looking around all food we saw looked really good. Staff were so lovely and clearly the local's favourite spot to come to. An excellent cafe to come to after a great walk from Hope. Can't wait to come back to Courtyard and eat more chips!

Lubens is always a lovely experience! We booked a table early in the evening prior to visiting the Opera House which is only about five minutes walk away. We've eaten there previously so were confident the food would be excellent! We weren't disappointed it was as good as ever. We both had a starter then had a vegi sharing platter which was very well presented and tasty. I finished off the meal with a lovely desert. We had a couple of beers and a bottle of wine and the whole thing was under £80 which, for the quality of the meal, we thought was very good value for money. The restaurant has a lovely look and feel and draws you in.
