Food arrived spot on time ( 10 individual meals ) and was absolutely excellent ! - every meal was perfect and full of taste . Tonight was the first time I've ever been to the Beehive, which us surprising because I've lived I'm Glossop nearly my whole life so far BUT honestly first experiences are always important and I really loved my time tonight at the Beehive! Staff and table service was amazing big thank you to waitress Chelsea and a big thank you to the owner John, the food was amazing!

Lovely family get together - 10 of us. Everyone made welcome. Food was extra special - large portions and very fairly priced. We chose mixture of Sunday Lunches and Thai dishes cooked fresh and hot when served. Sweets were lovely. Thanks to the friendly staff - hope you all have a great Christmas and hope to see you again soon.

We ordered a takeaway and I can honestly say it was the worst Thai meal we have ever had. I’ve never had rice that needed to be sliced was just a solid lump of mush. Pannang curry pale and lacklustre. We have previously eaten at the chieftain and was expecting the same quality but most definitely not. Champ is a amazing chef and is sadly missed 😢

This is our favorite food in Glossop! We visit Glossop annually and this is a regular, at least weekly stop for us! John is a friendly host and the food is fabulous and the Thai food authentic! We just went again yesterday!!!

Ordered food for home delivery, it was chicken Singapore noodles which have boneless chicken breast in, there was a big piece of bone in the chicken, I understand mistakes happen, when I emailed they ignored me, when I messaged them via their Facebook website they read all 3 of my messages and ignored them all.

We went to the Beehive for the first time this evening. We live locally and I can assure you we will be returning. The food was really really good and the service was spot on. They were great with my 4 year old son as well. Thanks Beehive and staff for a great evening.

If you want delicious home cooked food and a peaceful friendly welcome this is the place to be. The garlic chicken is legendary in my opinion and the salt and pepper ribs are second to none, if you haven't been just go , chill out and enjoy...

Our party of nine family and friends came here for dinner and were not disappointed! VERY friendly staff and atmosphere with mouth watering food and a wide and tasty selection of drinks for a reasonable price. Can’t wait to visit again for a drink or more! Having heard many excellent reviews ww decide to try The Beehive out. Took our 2 teenage grandsons and we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely, friendly atmosphere and extensive menu. We loved the choice on the Thai dishes and they certainly lived up to expectations ....absolutely delicious. Other options on the menu and 1 of our grandsons said it was the best bacon, cheeseburger he has ever had. Could only manage 1 dessert but aforementioned grandson just about managed the Sticky Toffee pudding. Service was excellent and we will certainly return. Loved it .

A surprise mid-week visit to the Beehive resulted in a delightful supper. Drinks: Sauvignon blanc with soda and ice, Lager. Supper: It was getting on for 8pm and I asked John (the host) if there was anything in the kitchen as my foodie partner and I were in need of some 'intake'. Nothing heavy and so we went for the: Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs with peppers and chips x2 WOW, they used a fine-grain salt and pepper covering that whilst adding taste, did not 'burn' your mouth. The chips are nicely oiled with S&P alongside fried peppers. What a lovely surprise. Even a 'doggy bag' was provided for the couple of ribs left over. My foodie partner also met some people she had not seen for a good number of years. So overall, a really good night.

So, having googled all the best places to get Thai food in Derbyshire we had a great drive to the Beehive on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We needed informal afternoon feeding and I was intrigued by a pub serving authentic Thai food. We were not disappointed. Firstly a warm welcome set the tone and its wasn’t long before we tucked into a mixed starter and a delicious bowl of Tom Yum Ghai. It was all beautifully presented, flavourful and delicious. We followed this up with Thai Green Chicken Curry, again, beautifully cooked, spiced, plenty of fresh herbs and vegetables perfectly good. A real quirky find, great value and so jealous that our local village pubs don’t do anything like this. Definitely worth a regular revisit.

Both my partner and I have been to this establishment a number of times, usually for the superb and very authentic Thai and Thai-Fusion dishes. And on each visit, even with friends, we have never been disappointed with the meal, the service or the staff... all 5*. So this time, we thought, let's try the Sunday Minted Lamb Shank Dinner. And we were not disappointed with the meal at all. Drinks: Lager and Sauvignon blanc, ice and soda A succulent minted Lamb Shank with an excellent selection of vegetables. So very filling (I'll have to get the recipe for the mint sauce that was used, it had an almost roasted a'la BBQ flavour to it - excellent). To finish, my partner (I was indeed TOO full) went for the Strawberry Sundae - which went down a treat. To John (the host), table and kitchen staff -thank you. We both really enjoyed the meal. When I first heard about a local small pub in Glossop serving amazing Thai food, I thought it sounded a bit odd. However, I have spent the last two weeks travelling and dining out in various places across North West England and North Wales and The Beehive in Glossop wins hands-down when it comes to food quality. They offer a Thai and English menu. I ordered from the Thai menu and the food was superb, freshly cooked ingredients cooked perfectly! The portion sizes were good and the service was friendly and efficient. The menu offers a good range of dishes and I was especially impressed with the fact that there was a decent gluten-free menu as well. Although I don’t need to eat gluten-free, I ordered from the gluten-free menu and the dishes were brilliant. I would highly recommend this place, if you are in the area. I will definitely go back to repeat the experience! Thanks.

Been a while since our last visit, my foodie partner's fave eating place in Glossop area... and it's always easy to see why if you have read my previous reviews. Drinks: Chardonnay & soda, Lager Starters: Thai Cod & Prawn Fishcake with sweet Thail cilli sauce Tum Yam Gi regular favourites of ours with the Tum Yam always reminding me of 'home' (Malaysia) where you have such first thing in the morning (I jest ye not). Main: Panang Curry with chicken and a side of chips Panang Curry with chicken and coconut rice as my foodie partner enjoys the Penang I thought, give it a try. And yes, easy to see (and taste) why she likes it. Goes very nicely with the starter for a full-bodied Thai meal. Service as always, faultless. So thank you, John for keeping this restaurant to it's 5* rating. Well deserved. .

Visited here as part of a weeks holiday in the area. The pub itself was friendly and welcoming, the Thai food was delicious. We chose the mixed starter which we shared, my partner then had the pad thai which was lovely, I had the chicken in gravy which was very tasty. The service was friendly, the wine good. We would certainly revisit if we return to the area.

Good to know some things don’t change, even after only just over 3 months. Both the food and the service excellent and worthy of the 5 Stars. Drinks: Chardonnay, soda and ice, Lager Starter: 2x Tum Yam Gi (chicken) Still really top drawer with the memories of Cambodia and Malaysia. What can you say – a really good starter for the main course. Main: Panang Curry with mixed meat and Chicken & Ginger. Becoming two fave dishes for us both. And both go well with the starter. I have absolutely no idea how this place has scored so highly. It's terrible. We walked in to be shown to our reservation which was 3 feet from a group of men watching football, including all the associated swearing. This is absolutely not a Thai restaurant; it is a traditional old English, exposed-beam pub, with real ales and pork scratchings. If you are hoping for an authentic Thai experience, you will be sorely disappointed. The service was terrible. We waited over an hour for two lots of starters and salt and peppers ribs. Nobody came over to tell us there was a delay, and we were not told there was a delay when we sat down. The starters were average at best, we waited at least 20 minutes for the plates to be cleared away once finished, and nobody asked if the food had been ok. Our main meals were brought out immediately after the starter plates were cleared away, and again were distinctly average. The sweet chilli beef had been too thickly coated in corn flower and was soggy and cloying. The beef in ginger and black pepper tasted overwhelmingly of pepper and little else. Again, nobody came to check that we were satisfied with the food.Once we had finished with our food, the plates again remained on the table without being cleared (a new football match had started at this point, and even more people were stood behind us, often swearing, and twice kicking my chair whilst trying to pass each other to get to the bar). We paid the bill and still nobody cleared the table, nobody asked if we were happy with the food, or if we wanted dessert. It seems that that kitchen is run as a separate enterprise from the bar, as the girls on the bar are very friendly and quick to serve at the bar, but there appears to be very little communication between the two parts of the pub.To put this review in context, we ate at a Thai restaurant in Manchester two days ago and left a glowing 5* review, and do feel we have a reasonable understanding of thai cuisine, I am a season ticket holder at a Manchester football club, and so am not unfamiliar with what happens when there's a game on, and I work in a proper working man's pub, so again am entirely familiar with what to expect there. I've just never seen the three attempted to be pulled together in such an unsuccessful manner.

When we go abroad, we almost always fly from Manchester airport, so Glossop is on the way for us. If the flight times allow, then we will always stop off at the Beehive for a Thai meal. We have tried many of the dishes on their menu, Yom's Special Fried Rice is a particular favourite, all have been freshly prepared and always tasty. Food is spicy, as you would expect from Thai food, which is just how we like it.There are also English dishes on the menu, so pub caters for all tastes.Looking forward to our next visit, just don't know when that will be.

We've been here on a couple of occasions as we love the food being served here.The portions are big (the 1st time we came here we ordered a starter each and a main, we were very very full), the menu is simple to read and has many dishes to chose from (also vegetarian).It's a small place so make sure you book your table to avoid disappointment!

We visited the beehive tonight on a whim after reading trip advisor reviews. I think food service started at 5pm and we arrived just after, we didn’t book and we were definitely lucky to get a table. 1st impressions were that this didn’t look like a usual Thai restaurant & we probably didn’t expect much - we were pleasantly surprised. All of our meals were very tasty. I would say that this is a nice relaxed family restaurant that caters for everyone at a reasonable price. My youngest is a bit fussy, there was plenty English dishes for him to choose from & my eldest is coeliac and there was a very good gluten free menu. There’s also a vegan menu so I think my wife plans to return with all of her work colleagues over Christmas. We’ll definitely visit again.

I visited this pub midweek for food and drinks with friends. The food was absolutely amazing and the service excellent. The menu is very extensive with food for all tastes, and they also have a separate vegan menu with numerous choices. I love the atmosphere in this place, it's so friendly and welcoming. I genuinely think this is the best pub in Glossop. Highly recommended. Love it!

Nice pub with very good Thai food. Also keep a good pint of Timothy Taylor. One negative, a towel to dry your hands in the gents, not ideal, paprika towels or a drier would be better.

A very friendly bar that serves great beer and food. I had a couple of pints of Timothy Taylors Landlord and the wife had wine. The Thai food was really good and was enjoyed by us all. Child friendly.

Went as a family while staying with parents in glossop. Hoped for good thai food having g read the reviews.

Thankfully everywhere else was booked for mother’s day and we managed to get the last table here. Fantastic atmosphere, typical English pub locals watching the football, walkers stopping off for a drink, families out for a meal, great wines, beers and gin.

Decided to go out for tea last minute booked the tablet on line very easy and they replied very quickly to say table was available.

We had a fantastic meal. The soup I had was outstanding; one of the best things I have ever had the chance to savour. I had a hot, beef salad afterwards which was substantial and lovely.

After visiting this restaurant on many many occasions and always enjoyed oue meals our son decided this is where he wanted to go for his birthday meal.

Went for my birthday and once again had a fabulous meal at the Beehive. We shared a starter of chicken stickler (satay) which was lovely followed by a chicken red curry for myself and a chicken Penang curry for my partner.....fabulous. Both dishes were served with a coconut rice which was a highlight & absolutely delicious....’proper’ coconut rice. Lovely little pub, great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff would highly recommend.

Great menu that, although is predominantly Thai, will also accommodate the more traditional palate. The landlord was friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The food was reasonably priced but excellent in taste and presentation. I certainly had difficulty in choosing what to order as the dishes on the menu all sounded so good...I'll have to return to try more.
