The Village Kitchen provides great food at a very reasonable price. We have been regular visitors for Breakfast and Lunch .We particularly enjoy the freshly cooked breakfast -made with local produce . All the delicious pies and cakes are made in-house by the happy family team and the establishment is popular with locals and visitors alike.

My wife and I have just had breakfast here, and we’re glad we did! Staff were very friendly and the food was of a high standard. I had bacon and egg on toast and my wife had a full English, which, unusually she didn’t manage to finish as there was too much! Very reasonably priced, highly recommended!

We arrived just before closing on sunday 4th August 2024. We were made very welcome, the ladies serving were polite and friendly, the food was excellent. This was a spur of the moment run out as it was our 51st anniversary, so enjoyable, thank you, June and Dave 😊

Had the falafel and cashew salad and it was fabulous. A massive plateful with loads of tasty colourful ingredients - lots of avocado, red onion, peppers etc, and warm flatbread to go with it. Sat in the sun, lovely staff, nice surroundings. And great value.

I was so sorry we found this after we got a sandwich from the co-op so tomorrow I’ll be setting off on my bike to get one of their cream scones because they look fantastic as it was. We tried on flapjacks and it was the best flapjack I’ve ever had.

Friendly pleasant cafe with generous portions. Good variety of food. But they need to clean more thoroughly. The decking to the rear looked as though it hadn't been swept for weeks. And no, I am not fussy.

Popped in after walking by and seeing the fattest brownies for £3 and they're definitely worth it, amazing and extremely tasty. Will definitely be back for the rocky road! Friendly staff and plenty of seating available if need be , right next to the train station so good for a snack 😋🥨

Fantastic value vegetarian breakfast, everything was cooked to perfection.A great cuppa too. Lovely, friendly staff. There looks to be a lovely terrace out the back which is perfect if you have a dog. Highly recommended if you're around Whaley Bridge.

Excellent friendly service. Quite a small place, but lively and cheerful. Snacks served were absolutely great. There was a problem with the coffee machine, so we were served up an alternative instant coffee at NO CHARGE. Can't fault their customer relations. We'll be back. And here we are, back again. Unbelievably, more than a year has passed due to Global circumstances. Delighted to find this place recently re-opened, and every bit as friendly and welcoming as before. Delicious food and very reasonable prices, and every effort made to cope with the Covid-imposed regulations currently in force. A second 5-star review from us. We are now regular visitors, and always find the same excellent standards.

Had a lovely raspberry cheesecake delicious and a cappuccino. Cakes on display looked lovely. Visiting in October Whaley Bridge look forward to trying their full English breakfast.

The staff are welcoming, friendly, organised and efficient. The food is amazing too. We enjoyed the leek and potato soup with a sandwich. I had egg mayo and salad, the sandwich was bursting with flavour. There’s an attention to detail and generosity here that makes this place a cut above. Step in if you get a chance, you’ll be richly rewarded.

Popped in for a brew and a wrap. Nice and clean place with friendly welcoming staff. I’d urge visitors to try this one out rather than the other on the high street

What is not to like here? Great food and fast service. Wide range of homely classics at very competitive prices. The "full English" is a popular choice here and will set you up for the day.

We had three full English breakfasts and smashed avocado with egg,it was delicious,they obviously use the best ingredients and actually care about it being cooked to perfection,the staff are lovely,as were two lady customers who graciously offered to move tables, so my family could sit together, well worth a visit.

Popped in yesterday with my cousin's and newborn son, but have been many times.Absolutely love the village kitchen. The food is always gorgeous! Highly recommend the "farmer oatcake" and the pancakes! Brian, Wendy and Sharon have created a wonderful business in the heart of Whaley. They are always so friendly and welcoming. All the staff that work there are lovely. The cafe is always spotless, and the service is always spot on. The cakes are just incredible and such a variety! Everything about the Village kitchen is 5 stars! And a big thank you to the lovely waitress who ran after me with my son's sock that had fallen off in the cafe! You are a star!

Stumbled across this little cafe when visiting Whaley Bridge. Extremely friendly staff, excellent food, and fantastic service. Dog friendly too (on the rear terrace). You'll struggle to find anything better in town.

This was my first visit to the Village Kitchen and I was not disappointed. Friendly welcome, fast, friendly service and a lovely outdoor seating area on decking at the back. Perfect on a sunny day. Lovely food at a reasonable price. Quiche is excellent and my wife knows! The cakes have to be seen to be believed. All food cooked on the premises

Had plenty of full English breakfast in my life so i know what i like and how i like it. This one was served in well and respectable manner. What's important for me and i hopefully others as well that staff was wearing face masks / face protection. Sadly you don't see that I'm many public serving food. Also what like too is the fact that on each table was small sanitiser. Well done! But moaning aside lets focus on food. And there a lot good to say about it. Starting with latte which is the best regular size i had ever. Everywhere. Also serving in glasses rather than mugs is always welcome. Maybe, just maybe bit to weak. And i know what proportions for latte should be. Maybe changing coffee strength imo ? Other than that was perfect. Food! That's why we here. It was great. Starting with sausage, which either was something more than just cheapest available ( like 50p in Tesco?) or from butchers. It was nice, meaty with hint of apples ? And size of it too. That's for people whom saying that size doesn't matter. Flipping does here! :) And there's beans which also isn't anything cheap and that its got great taste. Hash brown and toasts where well made and couldn't be happier with them. Last but not the least was egg. Regardless of the fact that i like thing organised and sorted in my own way i love the irregularity of egg. Had to many to perfect looking eggs with FEB just to realised they awful in taste. This one looks like full range, yolk was almost orange in colour ... even now i can feel every one of the flavours on my plate. This is how good it was. Was siting outside, and i have to say that during the winter time or colder days it's got to be amazing to sit there, drinking something hot while waiting for you food. Complains ? Just one, minor one. When i was going to use pepper there was almost none. Had to get one from another table where it was running low too. But you cant have everything. Had a day off so decided to walk around Whalley Bridge. Originally was planning to go to different place but TVK as the only one had space to eat. And let me tell you this is the place you have to visit.

Recently taken over by new owners, food and service were both very good. Lovely setting and ambience.

What a gem! Arrived 20 minutes before closing team to be greeted and seated with a warm welcome. A delicious homemade pie and chips, with the perfect balance of cheeses. Which is often not the case as many pies are too cheesy. Lovely staff too. Will certainly be back next time we're in the area. And I suggest any hungry walkers do the sams.

Went in for coffee & the smell was so inviting we had a breakfast each. The best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Staff are friendly and welcoming and had no problem swapping my beans for black pudding. The other half had the vegetarian breakfast and thought it was delicious and the best she’s had too. Nothing like your normal average cafe just outstanding in every way. And don’t get me started about the homemade cake’s…they’re to die for. Will I be back…yes regularly now we’ve found you & would recommend to everyone I know.

We went today on a friend's recommendation, we had a full breakfast each, mine was a veggie breakfast, can only say both were excellent, well presented and the nicest I've ever had, i took a cheesecake home too! The staff were lovely, god knows how someone on here left a review saying it was a greasy spoon, far from it and that it wasn't a place for mums to meet (thankfully, don't want to listen to a herd of woman babbling about their kids, zzzzzz) We will definitely be returning to the best cafe around !

Just love it here, literally no complaints at all EVER! We have been so many times for pancakes, Sunday lunch, baguettes, oatcakes and cakes. Cakes are delicious especially the cheesecake and the food portions are amazing and you can take what you didn't eat home. Staff are always so friendly even when they are rushed off their feet and so pleasant with my children.

Lovely little cafe. Not that big inside although we had no issues with seating and there is plenty of outside space available. The staff/owners were very pleasant and the service was great. The food came quickly and was very nice. Also very reasonable. Our cycling club will be back I'm sure the next time we are passing

Make sure you are hungry when you go as portions are very hearty and also very very tasty! Great food, great drinks, great service. The quiche and pie of the day are highly recommended. A must visit if you are in whaley bridge for lunch.

Lovely food and friendly staff. I'm normally good and avoid cakes but not today!! Yummy yummy. 😋 The caramel cheesecake was delicious as were the scones. Hubby and i shared some of each. In all honesty we should have just shared one. 😂 Thanks for keeping the calories there for us 😉

Little hidden gem, sat out in the garden next to the river with our dog, Mince beef and onion pie meal was delicious massive portion, chef even brought us some roast beef for our dog. Love the place.

Very friendly family run cafe with homemade custard cake I dream about! Great sandwiches too, very good value.

Friendly staff and nice coffee, however, scone (with jam and cream) was extremely dry and toilet facilities were unacceptable. We left most of the scone and were not asked if everything was okay when settling the bill.

I keep coming back to this place. The reason? The most amazing Derbyshire Oatcakes you will ever taste! I'm a big guy but a small portion is all I need. Beautiful freshly cooked sausage with cheese and an onion relish. There is something for everyone on the menu though including home baked cakes. The cafe itself has a lovely family feel to it and the background music is usually 50/60 American style. Indoor or outdoor seating, dogs welcome. The staff are always warm and welcoming. A real gem in Whaley.

Nice veggie breakfast and huge cakes! Not stingy with the portions, you won't leave hungry but you might just have to take a cake away so you don't miss out 😄 Nice big outdoor area round the back makes it easier to take/fit in bikes and prams.

We arrived for a late lunch on a warm sunny afternoon for our last day in Whaley Bridge. Food service was ending but one of the owners kindly squeezed us in and we had one of the best home cooked meals I have ever had...

My husband Discovered this gem of a place by accident on line. We live 16+ miles away, and had to take 3 buses. We decided to try the cafe as reviews ,pics etc all seemed very positive. We both have mobility issues so with the help of google maps knew how far from bus stop etc . As you enter you are meet with the cake display WOW !. Seating is available inside and out , we were in luck and got an inside table. Staff very efficient,friendly and patient. Very clean and tidy. Menu is quite extensive, my husband had hot roast beef and gravy on a roll Proper slices of roast beef no skimmping either. I had hot crispy chicken wrap we also had side of chips. The wrap was fantastic fresh salad 3 large crispy chicken pieces wonderfull. The cappuchino were lovely too. I also ordered to take away a ploughmans lunch Faultless quality. Excellant Value for Money. Will definately be visiting again Many thanks for a very enjoyable meal. The Whites.

What a find! Lovely, friendly staff and exquisite pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup. Coffee was delicious (so my husband said) and he loved his toasted teacake. Well worth a visit.

Blink and you will miss it. Absolute hidden gem. The kind of food your cooking loving nanny would make. Cartoon sized slices of cake and treats. I had the home made quiche. Wow. You could have shared it. Its tasted amazing. The Mrs couldn't finish her BLT. On proper bread with bacon you could have lagged your hot water cylinder with it was that thick. Loved it. Coffee was served in proper mugs. Not thimbles like you get at other places. Great value for money. Staff were friendly, polite and jolly .i will definitely be going back!

Although this is dog friendly you have to eat outside. We ended up across the road at the railway where we had a breakfast and homemade quiche all freshly prepared from the village kitchen and brought over the road. Cakes are lovely
