Spanish cafe but a very good English breakfast. Food really well presented and very good value with nice helpful staff.

Wow! What a find. A lovely cosy cafe serving the most delicious cakes. My daughter had a huge slice of chocolate cake topped with pieces of chocolate orange. I had a delicious fruit scone with tasty raspberry jam and butter. The hot chocolate and decaffeinated cappuccino were also excellent. My only concern was that one of the waitresses stroked and petted a dog then went back to serving customers without washing her hands.

We stopped here for brunch en route to the Peak District. Although we were too late for breakfast, the staff agreed to cook us Eggs Iberico, their Spanish take on Eggs Benedict. The cafe is cosy and intimate and we soon got chatting to our table neighbours. The food and coffee was excellent. Although we didn't indulge,the cakes looked absolutely marvellous. A very lovely experience.

We popped in here recently for a snack and coffee prior to a hike in the area. Pleasant interior and such a relaxing ambience. Excellent choice of cakes, snacks and beverages along with a menu with plenty of options. A slice of cake, a scone and coffees were our choice, all nicely presented, generous and tasty. Friendly and polite staff members, prompt service and reasonable pricing. All round just perfect for us!

Best full english I've ever had in a cafe, real butchers sausage, quality bacon, scrambled egg, honestly it puts other cafes to shame, really good value considering the quality, lovely staff too, very highly recommended

Did some research for breakfast in Glossop and came across this place. We really enjoyed our breakfast here - I had the croissant with smoked salmon and cream cheese which was delicious and the full cooked breakfasts looked good too!

Called in here today, had soup, which was over facing in a massive bowl, couldn’t eat it because of the consistency. Bland Prawn sandwich. Banging music playing loudly which I’m wondering if it’s played to make you leave quicker on purpose. Other customers were complaining amongst each other about the music too. Found this little gem of a place on a morning stroll. Had a fabulous breakfast and fantastic coffee. Service was friendly and prompt. Lovely interior and the cakes looked very tempting. Highly recommend.

Fabulous. How can this place only be no.5 in Glossop? I have never been to a better cafe than this anywhere in the UK. Fantastic cakes, excellent coffee and tea in a proper pot, good atmosphere, and friendly service. This should be number 1. You have to go.

We visited as a couple while on a weekend away. Lovely little cafe, interior has been carefully thought out. Every was very clean. Friendly service. One of the best breakfasts we have had out ever! Definitely worth a visit - the cakes looked amazing!

What a gorgeous little tea shop, with home made cakes 🍰 extremely friendly staff. The portions are big so if you eat before you go and end up there you’ll need a lie down as you will be stuffed.

Well, where do i start? I have discovered my little slice of heaven 😍 I went in today for a coffee with my 2 dogs - yep bonus, dogs are allowed. A very warm welcome awaits as soon as you walk in the door. From sitting down, the dogs were given treats and water, and I had a large latte that washed away all my cares in the world. It's definitely a very popular place as it was filling up nicely as i was there. I will most definitely be going again ..... and again

I booked a table here to meet friends, halfway between where we all live, having done a spot of research on TA. We were not disappointed. As soon as we arrived, we were shown to our table and menus and water was brought. The staff were attentive and very friendly throughout our whole meal. Service could not be faulted. We all had toasted sandwiches and all were delicious. Having seen the delicious cakes as we came in, we couldn’t resist. They were excellent, too, as were the teas and coffees. Our whole experience was 6* and it’s just a pity we don’t live nearer, as Panaderia Blu would become a regular venue for us. Thanks to Lisa and all the staff for such a lovely lunch.

Called in with the family for a hot chocolate and some cake and we were not disappointed! The hot chocolate was lovely, lots of cream, chocolate and marshmallows and even a little cupcake. Went for Brunch with my wife.....NEVER NEVER AGAIN. Nothing traditional on the menu so opted gor toast and Peanut butter.....In 61 years on this planet, I have never had such disgusting Toast..The bread was so doughy and £2,50 for 2 slices of urrrgghh, it was inedible. Which brings me to the peanut butter at £1.00 extra-YES A £1-which came in a very small bucket which contained a tablespoon. Based on that I reckon its about £30 a jar if you compare say with a jar from a supermarket. If your twee and have burn to burn,great if not Avoid

We found this little gem looking for a coffee stop but bad timing , menu and food looked amazing but just to early for us. Our coffee superb, as was the ambience and customer service . We paid and left but back within 10 minutes to buy cakes for the onward journey all produced on the premises. There is one bad point about this stunning little independent coffee shop that it is not located in our home town in Kent. They have a raspberry granola bar to die for. After a sojourn around the world Downs had returned to Glossop with a bang. The only problem is that at peak times they are a victim of their own success, and getting a table can be difficult.Excellent food and good service. What more could you want? Local curmudgeons would say a little pricey, but the quality is worth the premium. Decanter the associated wine/gin bar next door is well worth a visit.

I often have coffee, lunch or get take away from here .The team are amazing! Trouble is there is only one Ian !It’s always busy so at times hard to get a table which says it all !Tables bit squashed as it’s only small place but soooo well worth any wait!!!!!!! We found Panaderia by going on line as we approached Glossop, late Saturday morning. It was perfect! Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly and the brunch exceeded our expectations. You must visit Panaderia.

I absolutely love panaderia especially the afternoon tea! It’s definitely the best I’ve ever had but the regular menu is also lovely especially the avocado and poached egg. Great for a special occasion or just a coffee. Recently we held a baby shower for 20 people and nothing else was too much trouble, we had the whole place to ourselves and everyone said how much they loved it. Thank you so much!

Had to wait a while for a table but was definitely worth the wait. Had a delicious big bowl of feta cheese and roasted sweet potato salad with homemade bread. Our pot of tea for 2 was beautifully presented down to the little cake.

Panaderia opened its doors to 30 or so guests to help celebrate Gill’s birthday. Exclusive Saturday night use of the bistro. Absolutely fabulous. Buffet food, free flowing wine and beer. Guns from next door for the more daring! Cannot thanks Liz enough. Terrific enjoyment for everyone.

Best cafe I’ve been to in a long time. Delicious drinks, fabulous food. They elevate a sandwich into the extraordinary and the hot chocolate was incredible.

Only a small place, however make the effort to experience the amazing food which is freshly prepared you will not be disappointed. Staff go the extra mile to make sure you have a professional friendly service. 5 star's.

This has to be the best afternoon tea ever, and we had had a few the food was fantastic smoked salmon sandwiches on home made bread,ham sandwiches cheese sandwiches they were all filled with little added extras, then the scones arrived along with a selection of wonderful cakes all polished down with two gin fizzes my idea of heaven many thanks for a great afternoon. A great selection of gins in a pleasant adult atmosphere. The staff are friendly and efficient and suggested what tonic would go best with the gin you selected. Definitely worth a visit.

On the way to the Peak District we stopped off at the Panaderia for lunch. I had looked at the reviews here and I hoped this would be a good choice. It wasn’t just good, it was absolutely wonderful. The service was second to none. We chose a meat plate (for hubby) and a cheese plate for myself. The presentation was lovely. I love cheeses and this was the best ever cheese board, I actually had to admit defeat - I could not finish all of the cheese (there were 6 types, all very tasty).Next time we are in the area we will definitely stop here again. Highly recommended. Thank you to the team for a great little place with amazing food.

Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. I am vegetarian and they offered to tailor the menu to suit my tastes. The servings were generous and the food fresh. Rather small so may be a good idea to ask if they take bookings. They do seem to be busy a lot of the time.

Had a Spanish platter and a Reuben sandwich.both very nice and lots of it.....we couldn't manage it all so staff member put remainders in cardboard box to take home.this was done without any prompt.....no food waste and recyclable packaging, great! Prices reasonable. The price of the Reuben included a £1 charity donation to Reuben"s retreat.really like that fund raising idea.wish we were local!!! on the main street in Glossop, bijou but BUZZING. shared a Spanish platter with my daughter, which had a fantastic selection, including a fabulous Spanish tortilla, chorizo, cheese and great selection of breads. we also had the most wonderful home baked pork and chorizo pie......if there is a better pie I certainly want to taste it.we took home a few cakes from the delicious selection of home bakes

Passing through Glossop from Manchester my husband and I wanted some breakfast I spotted Panaderia managed to grab a table as it was very busy but staff friendly and welcoming. We ordered malpais eggs which where gorgeous very tasty with lovely homemade crusty bread and homemade hummus delicious. What we did like was the fact it had soya milk so ordered two large soya lattes perfect, we find as we can’t have dairy a lot of cafes and restaurants don’t cater for intolerances , so top marks for the soya and very tasty breakfast will be calling in again when passing through glossop

Delicious food. Without a doubt this is a hidden gem in Glossop. If your in town this is definitely worth a visit. The interior is small but beautifully presented, the food is well priced and tastes delicious. Highly recommended.

Although I'm not a local I suspect that PANADERIA BY DOWDS is an unexpected delight for those that live (& pass thru) this small North Derbyshire market town. Owned by an artisan baker (who gets up at 0500) this remarkable little cafe/restaurant is an absolute must. We were coming from a distance to a nearby wedding & needed lunch. Tripadviser reports spoke about Panaderia with words like: best, super, exceptional - so we were convinced & came to the strangely named 'Panaderia by Dowds'. Based on Glossop's High Street, simple parking easy to find - we were quickly found a table, An extremely friendly welcome, met the owner, our order taken and the quick servce presented us with 'serious mountains of food'. I had the Spanish meze platter - easily enough for two. My partner similarly had possibly the most enormous Chicken wrap I've ever seen. If I have a criticism of this wonderful cafe it's that there is absolutely far far too much food (& I'm no low dress size). I saw many people reacting similarly. My suggestion: Downsize your portions Ian & reduce your prices....otherwise customers just buy one portion to share and I'm fairly sure you'll still be full. Coffee and bread were also completely delicious. Yes, we'd certainly return but wiser 2nd time around.

We took my mum for a Mothers' Day afternoon tea; it was perfect. The staff were lovely with us and the food was wonderful. We couldn't eat it all so they boxed it up for Mum to take away. Thank you.

Called in panaderia for lunch today and it was the best coffee, sandwich & cake I've had in a coffee shop for ages. The food was of great quality, my sandwich was made with delicious bread a lovely filling served with a lovely side salad. My husband and I shared a piece of cheesecake which was gorgeous, the coffee latte was lovely so good we had 2 coffees each didn't want my lunch to end.We can't wait to visit again got a feeling were going to become regulars.

First thing to note is this place is tiny, not really for groups of more than 2 or 3.A modern well presented bar, with a fine selection of gins. Quite intimate due to it size and quiet in volume for the same reason.Good gin menu and knowledgeable staff.

Tasty late brunch of their homemade toast, garlic coated with avocados and poached egg. Always busy in here and you have to have to hover for a seat. Bustling glossop town centre venue.

I come here often for late breakfast or lunch for the amazing avocado and eggs dish and a great coffee. Ive tried a number of dishes...The food is very fresh and consistent, I love that they source locally and make what they can in house such as the bread! The owners are a lovely couple who go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your visit, their employee's as also excellent. The cakes are SO hard to resist particularly if you're partial to a rocky road!! Delicious. DECANTER BY DOWDS - I also wanted to mention they have a newly opened gin bar right next door serving speciality gins and other drinks and great bar snacks. I organised a mini celebration for a friends birthday in December, they made a beautiful cake for her (requested day before) and served it up for us that evening, even though I was an hour late and they were super busy!! Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service, fresh and homemade dishes and bakery goods. Great to support something local too!Must visit!

My partner and I each chose a sandwich - they were very good portions, and freshly to order using high quality bread and ingredients. The side salad was beautiful, with different components, making a nice change from the standard side salads of many cafes. The cakes looked delicious - we couldn’t fit one in, but took one home to eat later. The overall decor worked well and the place was very clean. Fantastic find and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a meal or coffee in Glossop.

Went here for lunch with a friend and my 10 week old baby. The food was lovely, especially the cakes. Additionally, It's not everywhere that the owner (I think it was the owner!) will offer to hold and soothe your screaming, colic suffering newborn so you can enjoy your lunch. What an amazing gesture. Was made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Highly recommend.
