Wavecrest cafe Lizard in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

If you visit lizard point this is the place to go, lovely setting, food and you couldn't be made more welcome. Run by a lovely family who couldn't be nicer or more helpful.The best views around. Very dog friendly, gorgeous place.

A wonderful stop for respite from the weather! We arrived just before 3 and enjoyed soup and a toastie, a Bailey's hot chocolate and cream teas which fueled the rest of our hike. The team were so friendly, and couldn't have done more to make us welcome despite how wet we were. Definitely a spot to return to. Delicious food and an amazing team.

What a spot! The views and location are incredible, as is the team. We were a group of 4 - two humans and two furries - met with a genuinely warm welcome. Treats for the dogs, the best cinnamon bun we have ever tasted (Jasmine, you’re a genius), and the coffee was perfect. Our thanks to Gary, his daughter Jasmine and Jane for making our visit so much fun. We’ll be back for lunch.

Visited a few weeks ago for lunch whilst on a walk, and we had a lovely experience. Amazing view from their outside seating area, which was also dog friendly. We had a mix of different things, but the Calamari special that I had was amazing. Perfect portion size, and tasted incredible. Would definitely revisit when back at Lizard.

Absolutely brilliant - we sat on the wall with one of the best views in the worlds before us. Ordered two cream teas, today’s scone maker did an amazing job. Staff were great. Two large scones, lots of jam and extra cream was available free of charge. All very reasonably priced too. I don’t photograph my food normally, but my ‘cream tea and a view’ photo is going on Facebook now. Thoroughly recommended. I would say it’s the best cream tea in the world, and we have lots of experience in this field - lol.

We’ve been lucky enough to breakfast in some beautiful parts of the world but this has to be the most stunning location ever. We sat facing the gorgeous Lizard point , watching seals play and fishermen bobbing about . Didn’t want to leave . Breakfast was excellent quality with a decent coffee too. Staff very friendly. Biggest regret is only going there on the last morning of our holiday ! If seal spotting isn’t enough they even have a play area for little ones . Toilets very clean and a car park if the walk down is too much Thank you for leaving us with the perfect end to our holiday. Will 10000% return

Absolutely stunning location with seating both inside and out. The day we visited was a little blustery but we couldn’t drag ourselves away from the view so opted to eat outside. Great menu choices for lunch both in terms of food and drink and all three of us were very happy with what we ordered. The young staff here are a real asset to the place and clearly enjoy what they do. What a difference a bit of banter between waiting staff and diners makes to the overall experience. Keep going what you’re doing….you do Cornwall proud!

We visited for a morning coffee. Whilst there my husband booked a table for lunch, mentioning it was my birthday. On our return the table had been decorated with balloons, poster and rosette. The team came out singing happy birthday with a piece of cake. Everyone was so friendly, kind and the food was excellent. I cannot recommend this cafe enough. Excellent friendly service and a desire by all to make memories which are special. Well done all involved for you for making my day so special. We will return.

This is the best cafe to spend having lunch overlooking the sea. The food is amazing, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. You won’t find a better place to eat with such amazing views and delicious food. Definitely one to visit again soon.

Visited on a totally awful day driving rain - hail and strong wind but inside Wavecrest we have the warmest of welcomes by the nicest staff ever / and great food this place is a total gem and a must if you are visiting the lizard .

Great experience from start to finish easy booking and they even volunteered to make a vegan nut roast. Had great sized portions and a wonderful view to watch the wild sea. Lovely atmosphere, food and staff!

We had a great Sunday roast, including a specially prepared vegan nut roast. Portions were generous and it was all beautifully cooked. I had the best hake and chips I have ever had, sooo fresh! Service was friendly and fast, and the view spectacular, we will definitely be back.

Great food and fantastic service. After a slight hiccup with the booking we were seated quickly. I was very impressed with their professionalism, in dealing with the situation. Lovely roast dinner, nut roast was really good, the rest of the family had the traditional beef and pork roast. Such a wonderful location. Been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed.

It was lovely to visit again last Sunday, it’s been well over a year since our last visit and this was the first time in all our years of coming that we sat inside!! Usually the sun is shining and we sit on one of the benches enjoying the view with our white wine and Korev! 😉 So pleased to see the cheese and chutney sandwich is back on the menu!! 😋 Look forward to visiting again next year! 😊

With weary legs, we stumbled across this gem of a place. The views are fabulous, as is the service. We opted for the Crab Sandwich, Pulled Pork, Calamari, and Fish and Chips, all of which were fabulously tasty. Definitely recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had an amazing Roast on the Coast at this lovely place Super friendly staff who work very hard. Accommodated a gluten free roast and had great knowledge of what was and wasn’t gluten free Took our dog with us who was very happy with his trimmings 🤫 Great service great atmosphere fantastic food highly recommended

There was a little mix up with our booking but the staff were so amazing and so accommodating! The food was absolutely delicious I had the beef roast, the stuffing I could have eaten just by itself and not to mention the red cabbage oh and the gravy!!! Doubt you will share the recipes!!! My husband and son had the catch of the day fish and chips again, just delicious the fish was so delicate and tasty - our little cavapoo Nellie did have a little taste too and she loved it!!! You cannot even describe the location and views they are simply out of this world and makes the whole visit to your cafe a wonderful experience! Thank you! See you next year!!

This a fantastic cafe and the service is second to none, could not be better. Lovely place to visit and each year we are on holiday in Cornwall we always visit Wave crest as the food is fabulous and the staff so friendly and helpful.

I cannot rate this lovely cafe highly enough. Beautiful views, kind and lovely staff, fantastic food and quick service. I had the Cornish crab sandwiches which were lovely with some crisps, salad and coleslaw. Really made a lovely day at the beautiful Lizard Point after seal watching and a nice walk.

What a setting! Adjacent to the small car park this wonderful cafe/restaurant has amazing views of the sea. We sat in a little pod for four and watched as the sun set. The pizzas were delicious. Lovely staff Highly recommended.

Been here several times over the years but most recently went last week for a birthday lunch with my family. The cafe itself is really nicely done out and while relatively small inside there is a large amount of outside seating, most of which has decent views out to sea. 3 of the 4 of us decided to have the loaded fries which we all agreed were delicious and the cream tea afterwards was excellent too. Never had a bad meal here and the prices are decent for what you get.

This is a fantastic find! Views, food and staff all brilliant. We had chilli, garlic & coriander prawns and also the 100% white meat, Cornish crab - both on granary bread and served with a nice side salad. All so fresh and served promptly but not at a rushed pace. We met the owner, who had checked all was ok, and he made time for a really nice chat. We really can’t wait to come down here again from Hampshire as soon as possible.
