Well, it was our final visit to the Lakeside Cabin last week. What a wonderful hidden gem this cafe is, and it is going to be very much missed by so many, now that it has closed its doors.
The food exquisite, so tastefully presented, especially all those gorgeous cakes, mouth watering! The location and setting, along with the amazing family who ran it made it a very happy place to be.
Thank you ‘A’ team, for making our trips an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. So sad that you have gone, but we wish you all the best in your new venture. We will DEFINITELY come and find you at Pydar Mews in Truro.
we had amazing food served with friendly, professional service. Despite being fully booked the attention to detail was wonderful. Well done to Ceri and Matt for running Restaurant Four so well!
Unusual(but great)menu with fresh local food and bread made on site, very friendly staff. Great coffee and refreshing orange juice toilets available but only one.
Staff really friendly. Food was quite tasty but not value for money. Found this little cafe is expensive for what you get. Was hoping for decent artisan bread with some presentation effort, but sadly not. Can't work out whether it's a blue beach vibe or a vintage cafe due to the crockery used.
Would I go again, not at those prices. However if you're in Newquay give it a look if you like cakes...they looked great.
Excellent food and very friendly service. My lady had the Cornish mackerel which was delicious but the salads which accompanied the fish were wonderful-such a variety and all adding to the splendid lunch. I had the ham and grainy mustard sandwiches-lovely slices of good ham and a good helping of mustard as well. I also had the salad selections. Overall two excellent lunches.
We have eaten here many times, but have just very sadly read, that Taste has closed permanently at the end of April. We wish you all the best with whatever path you take in the future x
Visited twice here with family. Gorgeous waffles with a variety of toppings - some of the best waffles I have had. Partner had an ice cream and he said it was delicious.
Staff also very accommodating of my coeliac daughter - gluten free cones and a scoop of ice cream from a new tub to avoid cross contamination. The only place in St ives she was able to have an ice cream cone so really appreciated it.
Super cafe with bottled beer too! A lovely welcome on arrival by the owner & his staff, dog friendly, fantastic position for views & short walk from car park. Lovely & clean, great coffee & selection of cakes. We visited a couple of weeks before Christmas & it’s all decorated beautifully with Christmas tree & fairy lights. Romantic place or family place too. Thank you
Unique setting. We always love coming here. Excellent food and friendly service. Book during busy times. Beautiful views along the coast just a short walk away
Went to our favourite place for breakfast twice over a long weekend - brilliant both times!
This is a wonderful place - lovely, charming service and the food is cracking!
We only ever feel we have had a lovely time in Cornwall if we have visited Ben’s - you owe it to yourselves!
Had breakfast in here at the weekend and it was fantastic, all freshly cooked with great coffee and great service, will definitely visit again when down there next
Came here for their well known huge cream teas!. The scones are home made and are huge! the pot of cream and jam is massive too. One of their cream teas would easily do 2 people. The only thing that lets this place down is one of the waitresses, older lady and quite miserable looking. Quite grumpy never smiles and seems to not want to be there. A smile goes a long long way, nonetheless forget this and have the cream tea, its is legendary and very reasonable too. The Latte is the best I have tasted, even better than Costa! Lunches are lovely too. Tiny little cafe but a lovely location.
