Sea Spray in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

A fantastic spot down the steps and right on the sea front, a warm welcome and quickly seated outside. A nice friendly place, service was quick. I had a latte and breakfast, both superb! Will be coming back!

This place is 5 stars in every way. I didn’t know what to expect as I didn’t look at any reviews on this place before my visit. I was sort of expecting a sausage butty kind of place but was happily surprised. First thing was a very friendly and attentive member of staff at the door when you enter to show you to a seat, i don’t like standing at restaurant doorways “ please wait to be seated” signs for an age feeling like a spare part. The view was right onto the beach and all tables benefited from the large windows, as good a beach view you can get from anywhere in the restaurant. Food and drinks arrived quickly and all looked amazing. I had the hash and it was the nicest breakfast I’ve had for a very long time, son had pancakes with syrup and blueberries and my wife had the granola which looked so so good with loads of fruit. We also had to try a crumpton ( think that’s the name) it’s like a croissant with a filling and make into a cupcake, I can highly recommend them. I can highly recommend this place it is definitely one of the eating highlights of Newquay. The access to the restaurant is up from the beach or down some steps, the steps are not slippery or steep but may cause problems for some people. Also it seems to be dog friendly. We all loved it ..

Brilliant food, drinks and service. The food looked and tasted delicious and the service was also great. This is a hidden gem with great panoramic sea views.

Fabulous food as per usual - come here when on holiday to Newquay when we can - great atmosphere and views - good friendly service - Missing an opportunity however with short opening times in peak of summer- shame they don’t have longer opening hours - they would catch many a thirsty beach goer returning home - or people coming back early evening- and help them watch the sun go down with a beer and do a. light snack early evening ’wings and nachos’ type menu!! Maybe next year???

We went here for dinner last Friday. Staff amazing, food amazing, location/view also amazing. i cannot understand why this place isn't busier for dinner. i would highly recommend. good view out to sea/beach from all tables.

Stumbled across it by chance and it was a great find. Lovely location, friendly staff and great food (good size portions). One minor - kids fruit pancakes came with lots of pancakes and maple syrup,but a tiny pot of blueberries - some more/different fruit would have been perfect. Coffee was delicious and the rest if us gave our mains 10/10. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is amazing. The food was so good we came back for breakfast 2 days in a row. The staff are so nice and the view of the beach is amazing. The portion sizes are very generous and the food was delicious. It’s a busy spot and if there is a wait when you arrive it’s worth it.

This was our third time coming here and its a must visit on our Newquay trips now. Really friendly staff, amazing food and fantastic views. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped here to go for breakfast on Tuesday but winter hours are reduced so we continued to walk up the beach We came back on Thursday for breakfast and we are so glad we did The sun was shining so we sat outside on the terrace The breakfast was incredible, really yummy and honestly the best breakfast we had in Cornwall during our visit Menu had a good selection and all the staff were very friendly Great spot to grab a drink and watch the world go by or the surfers Super dog friendly too

This turned out to be our favourite place. Not only does it have a great location on the beach, the food is good and the service and greeting you receive was outstanding. Only accessible by stairs, and has a really rustic feel about it. Has seating inside and out. The hot chocolate was really good and the cake selection although small was good quality. Have attached a menu. Great place for breakfast, lunch or just a cuppa and a piece of cake. Would highly recommend.

This leaves a really unpleasant taste in the mouth, after a week of wonderful food and service (as we are staying nearby) today we arrived as there was a rush which is no problem and happy to wait. Told about 45 minutes potentially, we ordered two drinks which came promptly and two ciabatta breakfasts. The cafe cleared inside and out and refilled, we watched people who came in after us get served with the same items and leave! Eventually the manageress came and told us we would be next after another table, at about an hour she brought the food over and I commented that we were served out of order, she said it depends what is ordered pancakes in different pans etc. Although this makes perfect sense it just doesn’t hold up as I literally watched two men eat exactly what we ordered and leave! I have no idea if they give preference to locals or outside tables for turn over, but an hours wait and being ignored isn’t good enough anywhere. To top it all off the manageress then offered two free drinks because of the delay, we both heard her say it, and we ordered two lattes. They came promptly, we ate and left, only to be called back by a waitress and told we hadn’t paid for our drinks. I was about to say they were complimentary but then I saw the manageress standing behind her and knew this was a pointless argument and would sour our experience even further. I have NEVER not paid for what I ordered or walked out of anywhere but I also don’t want to get into an embarrassing argument with a manageress in the middle of a cafe full of people trying to have a nice time. So uncomfortable and pointless. I went and paid but repeated the complaint about time and was told it was five minutes over what they estimated and two chefs in tiny kitchen (very hot conditions and I appreciate they work hard to produce good food) I paid and left but it leaves a really icky feeling, I have never not paid my way anywhere and expect decent service in return. This is the fifth time we have eaten there this week, food is fantastic and the waitresses great every other day, but today under a obviously stressed manager the experience was extremely bad. Such a pity that it was ruined by some completely avoidable awful customer service. Sadly that will be our last visit for breakfast as there are some other fantastic options nearby.

Excellent from start to finish. We had a great brunch - great portions, great ingredients and great staff who accommodated our table move to outside once a table became free on the decking. The view is amazing. Would highly recommend.

Well. Came here for brunch and if I could give more than 5 then I most certainly would. Best place we’ve had breakfast in Cornwall, ever. And we’ve had some great ones down here over the years. The chef is an artist. Daughter said ‘best breakfast ever’ and son said ‘this is unreal’. And they eat out for breakfast a lot! Amazing, beautiful and tasty food all whilst watching the surf at Fistral. Stunning location. Please come here for brunch. You will not be disappointed. Lovely smiley service from all the team too.

Rude manager, was served the wrong order, three young lads ordered cokes, served coke and three lattes, questioned as they didn’t order coffee, and told yes they did, sarcastic apology given but no refund, and took the coffees back which we had been charged for!!! why would three 14 year olds order lattes? If the manager was to have given a sincere apology we would have probably said no issue, and let it go, but her attitude was awful

Wonderful ! The food was lovely ! Went with my family for brunch and we all enjoy it so much. It’s a must place to go if your in Newquay. The staff were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble , great service !

We visit this place every year at least once whenever we visit Newquay. This is a great place for breakfast / brunch and everyone who goes loves it. The food is great, the views are wonderful and the staff are very friendly. It does get very busy but I have never waited as long as the time they quote and it is always worth it anyway. Would recommend this to anyone even those with dogs as this is a dog friendly venue.

I wish I could write a bad review after finding this perfect place so we could keep it to ourselves but I can’t. The most wonderful staff, food and location. Everything was just amazing. You have to use steep steps to get to it but it’s so worth it. We got there around 930am. I’m guessing any later and you’d struggle to get a table but it’s worth any wait. Food is imaginative and quality, reasonable prices and the staff actually have personalities and seem to care.

I chose the Sea Spray from Google Maps, and how long coy we were! WHAT A LOCATION!! Views right along Fistral Beach, polite staff and the Sea Spray hash was delightfully flavoured with the chorizo and diced chillis! Deffo going back next time!!!

Came with 8 family members, half of them being children, were accommodated immediately. Food was again, fantastic. Everyone left full and happy, the children were talking about the pancakes for days! We always make a point of visiting when we are in the area.

These guys do some of the best food in Newquay. Lovely atmosphere with very helpful staff and even dog friendly. The views are incredible too - even better watching the rough sea during a storm.
