wWe stayed here for 2 x nights B&B to attend my nephew's wedding. The breakfasts we had on the 2 x mornings we stayed was excellent, and the dinner provided by the Chef and the 2 x waitresses the evening of the wedding was as equally outstanding, I can see why people travel to this place for their evening meals and Sunday dinner, I would highly, highly recommend this hotel and the Bistro.
Whenever I'm working in Fowey, I make a point to visit Quay Bakery and stock up with their baguettes, sourdough, Gouda pasties and treacle tart. This month I discovered their Eccles cakes - the best I've ever had. Everything's good, a lot of it's sublime, the staff are lovely* and the prices are fair. Faultless.
*The other day I didn't have time to wait while they cut the new treacle tart, so on their suggestion I paid while I was there and went back after work when they were shut; but they came to the door with tart bagged, and a smile. Brilliant service.
This is such an authentic Polish restaurant you could imagine Lech Walesa turning up to discuss Solidarnosc
Proper Eastern European food served with oodles of flavour and no frills
The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is becaue the wine list of almost four wines could be better
But a great authentic experience of robust Polish dishes with charismatic Polish service
Excellent atmosphere, very busy, which is a good sign. Staff were very friendly along with most of the customers. Just had coffee which was delicious. Would recommend.
A fantastic spot down the steps and right on the sea front, a warm welcome and quickly seated outside. A nice friendly place, service was quick. I had a latte and breakfast, both superb! Will be coming back!
A friend who lives locally suggested we have lunch here and it was a great choice. We were lucky to get the last table upstairs on a Friday lunchtime. She had a ham and cheese toastie with salad, I chose the frittata with the smoky beans and everything was delicious. You have to pay in another building next door but one on leaving, and the very pleasant girl there offered me a 10% voucher to use in the bakery opposite. As it was Valentine’s Day we chose a couple of heart shaped brownies and they were gooey, chocolatey perfection.
Went here with no real expectations other than we were looking for something above pub grub. We were very impressed with the inside of the restaurant which was very nicely decorated giving a nice atmosphere. what was the greatest part of the evening was the food, beautifully present and most importantly extremely tasty. I do not often have three courses but could not resist the deserts and these did not disappoint. This restaurant is a hidden gem and we will certainly return. The menu only has 4 or 5 choices of each course, but this allows the chef to cook fresh and spend time on each course, which reaps rewards on freshness and taste. If I had the smallest of observation, perhaps the waiting staff could be a little more engaging, but I know this is a fine line to tread, you have a good enough restaurant to compete with the very best, so perhaps introducing yourself to the guest might be a nice little touch in welcoming guests. Each course was describe to us upon placing in front of us. Great place and would not hesitate going back and recommending which already have done. Thank you Asquith's
Take away or eat in, the food and service are outstanding. There is a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in the bar & restaurant and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Needless to say the food is delicious. If you’ve not been, don’t hesitate. 😋 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So sad to hear that our favourite tea rooms has closed. Thank you to Suzy, Dave, Ryan and Teresa for being so friendly and welcoming to our family over the past few years. As mentioned by others your scones were simply the best and all food, cakes and drinks so lovingly prepared. We were so glad to have been able to make one last visit during October. There was nowhere else we would have made a 180 mile round trip to visit for sure. Wishing you all the very best for the future.
The food was AMAZING also the milkshakes are good as well, really enjoyed our visit to here, the ladies was lovey in there, only us in there but was lovey and relaxed 🩷
Myself and the family were out and about and the kids were hungry, I remembered the last time my husband and I were in Bude we stopped at a lovely pie shop, so I had to find it again!! We got it to take away but it was absolutely delicious and sooo filling, I'm glad it met the expections from our last visit, and the kids loved it too! Albeit they only had sausage rolls and half our chips and gravy but thr pies were gorgeous. The gentlemen cooking/serving in the restaurant was so friendly, humorous and recommended the sausage rolls for my fussy girls and didn't mind that I walked in just as he opened the shop! (My bad) will be visiting again for sure.
Four of us came here in early November to celebrate my birthday. From the booking through to actual service it was wonderful. You can bring your own wine and pay corkage which we did but ended up just having some of the excellent organic wine from the wine list. There was lovely bread and olive oil on the table which disappeared quickly. I had cured trout for starter, hake for main and a posh Eton mess (my best description anyway). All the food was fresh local produce, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The most surprising and very pleasing thing was the bill. At around £55 per head including wine and service it was extremely good value for money in this day and age. I would most definitely look to book again when we come to Cornwall next.
Fabulous food. First time here for about 10 years, but it was excellent in every way. Super food, very well cooked and presented, and a very good wine list. Couldn’t really be topped.
What a fabulous cafe, the food here rates equally (if not better) with a top restaurant Always consistently good quality, well presented delicious food. New dishes each week and the cakes are irresistible. You can always walk off the calories on the coast path to Prussia Cove or Marazion.
Found this little gem of a cafe by chance and so glad we did. We both had filled ciabattas which were lovely. I then had to have a slice of homemade lemon cake which was amazing. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back next time we’re in Cornwall
