The pizzas here are off the scale delicious. The waiting staff are lovely and very helpful. My only criticism of the place is the incredibly slow service. Maybe another pizza oven would help? Waiting an hour for a pizza is not great! However would not hesitate in returning as the food is so good. Had breakfast there too. Great coffee but a plain croissant would be great - not a great selection.

Fabulous little place with a cosy courtyard serving the usual coffee/tea/soft drinks/cake/ice cream. Late afternoon they do a pizza take-out between 4-5pm and you can eat in (outside) there. Their pizzas are authentic and amazing. I can thoroughly recommend The Jam Jar.

Wanted an easy light lunch to take back to our cottage. I had the French bagel and my husband and son had the Mexican. Both were delicious and we finished off with salted caramel brownie or polenta lemon cake. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again.

The most wonderful visit to what was my favourite cafe in the village for years, where I was pleasantly surprised to discover the new “jam jar kitchen”. All staff were polite and attentive but in particular our waitress Maya who went above & beyond to make our cafe experience delightful. Toasties were excellent, as were the locally sourced ice creams - orange & mascarpone (who would of thought it!)

I have eaten at the jam jar just over a year ago and enjoyed my smoothie bowl and coffee very much. However we visited again last Sunday and had hoped to enjoy fresh baked goods for breakfast and unfortunately got the complete opposite. Our croissants, Cinnamon rolls and bagels were all very dry and certainly not fresh which was really disappointing as I had always had high expectations of this place and alwasy look forward to visiting. However this visit had put me off returning. Coffee was still great 👍🏽

So, in these harsh economic times, a lot of people wpuld think you wpuld be silly to open a business in somewhere like Newquay, where a business will only thrive in the Summer, and will most likely suffer in the Winter, when the holiday makers are no longer around. To make your business last, you would think that the best way to keep customers coming, would to be polite to them, accommodating when they entered the building, and not chat to their friends while the customer is waiting to order. This obviously not how things are done at Jam Jar, and to top it all off, they didn't even have yogurt. At 9:30amNeedless to say, I will not be coming back, as when I go out to eat, I do not want to be made to feel like I'm not good enough to be in a cafe/restaurant.

Being tiny and humble is The Jam Jar's USP. Any bigger and you would lose the wonderful sense of popping round to see a friend. Imaginative, rustic and comforting, it's also like being in a tree house where you can snuggle up inside or perch outside on a blanket covered bench and watch the world go by.Fabulous coffee. It's "Origin", of course, and they know how to make it better than the ever increasing number of serving staff in cafes with "Barista" emblazoned across their shirts, who wouldn't know a decent cup of coffee from a cup of Bovril.Jess bakes the most amazing goodies fresh every day, most of which are gluten free and made with care using ingredients which may actually do you some good! Having said that, her cakes are still fabulously sinful.Listen to vinyl while you relax and look out for special events over the summer. Just goes to show that you don't have to spend a fortune on props and branding to create a really special coffee (tree) house.

Quirky and fun serving amazing homemade cakes and nice food menu including yummy bagels and sweet or savoury croissants! Coffee is the best organic Origin blend and all served in jam jars! Elsie and Jess are lovely and make locals and holiday makers feel really welcome! Highly recommended if you want to see the best side of Newquay...oh and probably the cheapest cafe town! :)

I love the jam jar, you walk in to happy old school music and you are served delicious coffee and really fresh tasty food. Flat white, sweet or savoury bagel made to order, a piece of gluten free cake and a dollop of cream, happy days. Service is great and the deck in the summer is perfect for sunshine and people watching. The jam jar is unique and you wont want to leave. A visit to the jam jar is a must if you're in Newquay x

This little quirky place looks to dealing with excellence not the run of the road. Cakes and cookies need to be tried on a daily basis. Such a lovely change from your stereotypical places. Go jam jar,go

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, what a fantastic find!! Funky and quirky vegan cafe. Loved the layout and decor. Best chai latte ever. Absolutely gorgeous tofu tacos, and the squash salad was sooo tasty. It’s dog friendly too!! Young lady was on her own front of house, and the cafe was full, she was run off her feet, but she was brilliant - well done!! Now top of our list for lunching in Mousehole!

I have been here four times now, its become a thing whenever we come to Newquay, tattoo before I go home. The staff are incredibly friendly and always chatting away when you're there. They make you feel like part of the family. It's clean, tidy, always smells so good woth the cakes and coffee, I always feel like I'm home when I go in.

Very good B&B in a very central location. But it is very expensive so 'value for money' comes into question. Very good cooked breakfast served in the mornings but for the money it should provide freshly squeezed orange juice.

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!
