Called in here spontaneously while on a loop expedition around the lower half of east Cornwall looking for some new stretches to exercise the dog. Mid-afternoon, mid-September and we were soon hungry. This is a pleasant cafe but we came over ten minutes after lunch ended so we resorted to tea and cake. Quite a selection, fairly priced and OK portions. Better for sitting on the outside benches in the surprisingly hot sun. Bit fiddly to drive down here by the lanes from the A30, easy to get get back south to Liskeard and the A38. We’d probably come again but in time for lunch.

We visited for brunch over the Aug bank holiday weekend in a group of 10 (pre booked) We had a lovely table overlooking the lake and the service was great from the start. Staff were really attentive, everything was perfect and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten! Fresh ingredients, all homemade and great portions. Would absolutely recommend visiting if you are in the area, the lake and surroundings are beautiful too 😊

I've been a few times for cake but never for lunch. Amazing food served by friendly people Today 4 of us had lunch followed by cake. The mushrooms on toast and roast potatoes were amazing followed by gorgeous home made orange drizzle cake and brownies. All of us loved it. We have monthly meet ups, I think the 4 of us will be back! Thank you from table 3 on 5th August.

We regularly visit Olive & Co. when enjoying a walk around the lake or a kayak and really cannot fault them! This is a really quirky little cafe/restaurant that has a deliscious range of breakfast and lunch options as well as the most life changing cakes you will ever experience! The staff are always helpful and friendly and in the summer it's perfect for a cold drink or icecream. Recently eight of us enjoyed a fathers day lunch at Olive & Co. and both adults and kids were spoilt for choice on the menu and the food as ever was fresh, tasty and served in good time! The only thing I could ask for from them is to start doing the occasional dinner evening as it would be a beautiful spot to come and enjoy the sunset and have an evening meal :)

I visited the previous premises in the town and was keen to visit the new cafe at the lake. I was very impressed, the food remains excellent, the coffee is amazing and the staff are really friendly. Clearly word has got out, as it was busy, but that did not matter. In these unprecedented times, this cafe has managed to stay the best in the area, if not all of Cornwall.

Came for a walk around the lake & to grab some food as had seen on social media. The menu was very interesting & the galettes that we chose were absolutely delicious - I just wish we lived nearer as I would love to work my way through the lot! The doorstop of a bacon sandwich also went down a treat. Round this off with good coffee & probably the best fruit & nut flapjack type thingy I have ever eaten (& an excellent cookie) & we were extremely happy & impressed.Service was excellent with a smile & a joke. As for previous seating comments, Covid has thrown a huge curveball at eating establishments, especially one that is indoor space limited & sometimes customers are going to be disappointed. As hard as it is for us it's a 100% harder for businesses so let's try & cut them some slack.Couldn't recommend more highly.

Really wanted to enjoy this place as we'd looked into going before our trip to Siblyback Lake (we went last mid-week). First, we couldn't find how to book a table on their website so assumed that it must be a walk-in cafe. When we arrived, the girls on the counter weren't very professional - chatting away about personal life very loudly whilst we were stood at the counter waiting for service. They also started talking negatively about a table of customers in the cafe who had asked if they could stay a little longer... Talk negatively about customers behind their back all you want I don't care, but this was all right in front of us - other customers waiting to be served. I'd understand more if they were maybe quite young and hadn't yet perfected how to behave in a workplace, but they seemed to be around our age (early-mid twenties) so it came across as quite ignorant.Once they finally spoke to us, they asked if we had a booking. We said no and they said they had no tables. Fair enough - we didn't realise there was some sort of booking system, maybe if we'd have trawled through their social media beforehand we might have found something (we had a look through their extensive website but nothing stood out as a place that needs/takes bookings). So we got some coffees to go instead. The most BAFFLING part of our experience was as we were waiting for our take out coffees, a lady came in asking if they had a table for two and that she hadn't booked and just wanted some drinks, no food (just as we had) and they sorted out a table for them right in front of us!! With absolutely no consideration for the fact we were stood right there. So confused by their treatment of us, we were extremely understanding that they didn't have any tables but to then offer someone else a table right in front of us... That's what swung this review for us. Really unprofessional. Also, in the light of current situations, there was no hand sanitiser throughout our journey through the one-way system of the cafe (maybe it was meant to be on the chair next to the area with spoons, cup lids, etc? It wasn't though). All in all, our experience was a big let down unfortunately.

visited the cafe at Siblyback Lake today, thought the staff were very unfriendly and the shelter they had erected looked like they had thrown it up. Sides not tied properly, wind gushed through and did not seem to put any thought into it.Found the food very bland and expensive - plain hame and tomato sandwich £5.50, also were not asked if we wanted chocolate on our cappuccino - which we both hateBins were overflowing and had not been emptied.

We visited semi-regularly when they were local to us in Liskeard, but not since they've moved to the lake (and we've moved to the other side of Cornwall). Today the service was lovely and the food was amazing... so not much has changed apart from the location! We had a mixture of sandwiches and galettes and we all had cake afterwards. We hadn't seen one of our party for over 4 months and so it was a special lunch and the lovely food really added to that.

It is wonderful to have a Café back at this delightful place. Olive & Co serve a good varied menu and are delightful people. You can eat inside or on the outside tables some of which are under a gazebo or you can take away to the lakeside or to the seats by the children’s play area adjacent. I really enjoyed “Vegan Breakfast” - a galette filled with vegan cheese, avocado, red onion, tomato, drizzled with sachan sauce (£7). There’s plenty of more traditional and cheaper items such as a very good BLT. Good Cornish dairy ice creams. Parking is very handy (70p for 2 hours) and there’s a very easy lakeside walk / cycle route.

I visited yesterday (Sunday) and was happily surprised at finding this gem of a cafe in such a scenic and spacious place. The coffee was perfect (just the way I like it), and the bacon bap was delicious. The cakes looked very tempting but I finally settled for an ice-cream afterwards instead !! The Manager and Manageress are such lovely friendly people and seem to really care about their customers. I particularly like the fact that there is plenty of space around outside to 'socially distance' from other people. I had taken a fold-up chair with me in the boot of my car so I sat happily away at a safe distance to enjoy my takeaway, view the beautiful lake, the scenery, and watch the world go by - what can be more perfect than that

After a couple of hours touring the coast and another three hours until home we needed to stretch our legs and refuel.Hubby learnt the difference between a flat white and an americano and had "possibly the best chocolate cake I've ever had". Their Devils Chocolate Cake. I had a hot chocolate and a slice of their Bakewell Tart. The place has a good feel to it, being very friendly with fresh made food and cakes. The only downside are the toilets which you have to turn right out of the cafe and up the side street then through an old door down stone steps and into the rather dodgy looking area where the toilets are. It all looked very much in need of a tidy up and not appealing so we kept our legs crossed for a bit longer. It was too cold to enter what is essentially an outside loo. Maybe the backyard where you can eat (up steps from the loo's) is more appealling and tidier in the summer?Still a cute cafe with cake and the hot chocolate was drinkable from the start without having to wait 10 minutes for it too cool down.

I have been visiting this friendly little cafe in my home town since day one of opening. It is my favourite cafe in Cornwall and does the most amazing food. The plant based (vegan) food is heavenly! They are always busy but still manage to be attentive and friendly. I love the quirky, colourful decor, and the creative menu. They also have a very pretty, sunny walled garden. The specials and cakes change daily but they always have the firm favourites. Recently I have had the satay noodle salad and the vegan cheese, mushroom and pesto toastie with added vegan bacon with their homemade slaw. OMG! I cannot describe how amazing both dishes were! Roxy makes her own seitan bacon and also her own almond feta (which I had on another dish). And if you can possibly manage a dessert you are in for a treat! There are many to choose from. Roxy’s signature cinnabuns, muffins and cookies and delights such as hazelnut chocolate tart and cranberry chocolate cake. Many items are gluten free too. Olive & Co is my go to place when friends are visiting from out of town, whether for their excellent (Monmouth) coffee or an amazing breakfast/brunch or lunch. I would eat there every day if I could! Check them out on Instagram (Olivecocafe) and on Facebook.

Cannot believe the review put on here by mastermix. Not only is it rascist in his comments about emnets but why if there meals were bad didn't he complain then.Having had numerous coffees, lunches and the absolutely delicious homemade cakes I think he may have got the wrong place

This cafe is a real asset to Liskeard, the food is wonderful - I've nothing against the jacket potatoes and chips you can get everywhere else but it's so lovely having such original and creative meals with simple and fresh ingredients which work together so well. The menu isn't hugely extensive but this is a plus, the meals they do they do SO well. Plenty of choice for vegans including several cakes, which is unheard of around here. The coffee is exceptional too, with a choice of milks (dairy and plant). The staff are genuine and friendly, you really feel like you're being welcomed by old friends. The awards they have won are more than deserved. If you're in South East Cornwall don't miss the chance to pop into Olive & Co.

By far the best cafe in Liskeard....and a contender for the whole of Cornwall! Lovely, wholesome and home made food, an imaginative menu with lots of veggie options, really good coffee and cakes too. Friendly service and nice decor too. They've really thought about this - its so good to see an independent business like this rather than the usual boring cafe chains. Keep up the good work!

I go to Olive & Co regularly, and it is always very good indeed. I have travelled all over Cornwall, and Olive & Co is quite the best coffee shop I have found antwhere. The food is excellent, and so is the coffee and tea. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, and I always enjoy going there.

I’ve been a vegan for over 13 years now, I could also make a profession out of eating cake and other sweet treats I love them so much. I can confidentially say that the mixed spice chocolate torte/tarte served at Olive & Co is one of the nicest treats ever to have passed my lips-absolutely divine and a generous portion too. Coffee is most excellent as is the very friendly service. Can’t reccomend this place highly enough, whether you’re vegan or not, at the end of the day its just damn tasty food here.

This is a rare and wonderful find in Cornwall! Worth visiting the market town of Liskeard just for THIS award winning cafe. Real barrista coffee, DELICIOUS home made healthy cakes breakfasts & lunches, all set in a tastefully decorated , aesthetically pleasing space to boot! ( there is also a fab garden with wacky sculptures for warmer days) !!) If possible I would give this place SIX stars!

We had a delicious vegan burrito each full of homemade seitan and beans, followed up with orange cardamom cake with coconut yogurt. Soya or oat mill are available for hot drinks and everything was incredibly tasty! Would gladly return to sample the rest of the vegan lunches.

This place is awesome just for selling the incredible Monmouth coffee but top it off it’s breakfasts are also delicious. We had the granola (best ever) and scrambled eggs which were also lush.

Fabulous mocha with oat milk - so creamy and not overly sweet. Managed to get the last two slices of cheesecake and it was amazing. Wouldn't normally both writing a review but it was too good not to share. Will 100% make it a regular treat!

Every thing was great. One additional thought would make it even better. To have a salad option would make a difference to those of us who would prefer a non sandwich choice:

I met a colleague for lunch here to catch up before a meeting- we had visited before but it was some time ago. I’m glad we reserved a table as the cafe was very busy but we were there at the main lunch period. If you can go earlier or later you will find things a bit less frantic in terms of getting a seat.

Visited with my wife not really realising it was more a vegans type cafe. It is very small and fills really quickly but don't be put off if it appears full. Check if there are 4 people on a 4 seated table, if not then ask to share. People dud when we visited and it is suprising how fast strangers bond. The food ordered was lovely and the coleslaw was to die for. Infact all the cakes, deserts and other food served all looked great. So give it a try you may like me be suprised.

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, what a fantastic find!! Funky and quirky vegan cafe. Loved the layout and decor. Best chai latte ever. Absolutely gorgeous tofu tacos, and the squash salad was sooo tasty. It’s dog friendly too!! Young lady was on her own front of house, and the cafe was full, she was run off her feet, but she was brilliant - well done!! Now top of our list for lunching in Mousehole!

I have been here four times now, its become a thing whenever we come to Newquay, tattoo before I go home. The staff are incredibly friendly and always chatting away when you're there. They make you feel like part of the family. It's clean, tidy, always smells so good woth the cakes and coffee, I always feel like I'm home when I go in.

Very good B&B in a very central location. But it is very expensive so 'value for money' comes into question. Very good cooked breakfast served in the mornings but for the money it should provide freshly squeezed orange juice.

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!
