Beacon Coffee in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Great little coffee shop. Very knowledgeable staff. Maybe not the cheapest... But if you love coffee the Beacon is worth a visit if you're in Falmouth.

I wanted to buy a gift for someone but I live some distance away. I dropped them a message which they responded to straight away and was met with someone who was genuinely really friendly and helpful. Shame I can't sample the goods myself but still deserving of a 5 star review ❤️

This place is for the coffee lovers, with weekly or fortnightly changing coffee menu. Its like a lottery, always excited to try something new. The staff are always welcoming with the finest coffees you can get your hands on around here and some delicious cakes. Nothing short of funky coffees, always have something special for the adventurous and something classic to be safe. Once you get used to these flavours, there is no turning back to regular coffees... ever. You have been warned. :D Highly recommended. 👌

Just had a latte and cappuccino along either a summer fruits raspberry and coconut slice. The coffee was delicious, and my partner said the slice was good too.

Hands down one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. Nice cakes and pastries too. Lovely staff and great environment. Really please to have stumbled upon this spot!

Excellent coffee, really friendly service and snacks were amazing. Chocolate brownie was out of this world, would recommend. Great place to stop for a coffee and snack.

Super friendly team with lots of options for espresso, filter and batch brew. As well as some lovely pan au chocolates. We had a lovely filter with a Kenyan coffee. Would definitely come back again

Staff were really friendly, attentive and knowledgable. The coffee was the best I have ever had! The coffee was perfectly made with no bitter taste at all and a rich, smooth flavour. We bought a bag from the store that they will grind for you there which was really handy. Definitely a must go for coffee when in Falmouth.

We've been coming here for the last 3 years when on holiday, it still remains the best coffee we've ever tried. The soft serve espresso with little brownie bits is also delicious! Really friendly team who always make us (and our dog) feel very welcomed ☺️

Not so much a dash, more a welcome rest with the most delicious ginger custard cream and a perfect, rich coffee. And coffee served at a great temperature too. Good to come across cafes who can serve a coffee you can drink from the off. Oh, and dog friendly to boot. Thank you for your hospitality!

Grabbed two take out coffees (Oat latte and a short black) both absolutely delicious. Choice of two beans flavour profile explained very well by friendly staff. Will 100% come back.

The coffee here is very good but its not a place to linger as its very small inside and you can find yourself being pushed as people try to get past. There is a very small step going down towards the back that I tripped on. A very elderly lady did so immediately after I had. I said to the young man who was delivering someone's coffee that it might help to put the tape down that alerts people to this. I said this in a friendly way but the young man answered me in an abrupt manner saying "We are too busy to do this right now". A very odd response as I was hardly expecting him to run out and buy the tape immediately. Whether or not they actually get around to doing it remains to be seen. I was left with the impression that they are a bit up themselves. The other thing I found off putting was two people smoking right in the open doorway.

I have a new favourite coffee shop. Not just the best coffee in Falmouth but probably the best coffee I've had since I was last in Italy 💖

Stopped here this morning for a coffee and it was absolutely brilliant! I was talked through the three options of beans available and their flavour profile and the coffee matched this perfectly! I will be back before I leave my holiday here

Great coffee & cake at one of the most engaging and wonderful coffee shops I've ever visited. Being talked through the flavour profiles of the different roasts on offer was great and made a real difference that sets these guys apart from the competition.

A must is the ‘ one and one’ - single espresso, single shot flat white and cold water trio. Best flat white, both in flavour and texture. Great selection of pastries/cakes too. Also had to try the hot chocolate which was the smoothest ever. Great ambience and service too.

Wonderful coffee experience- the ask you what kind of beans you would prefer, which I’ve never actually had asked before(and ive been to some fairly ditzy london cafes in my time), and for a coffee nut I was so pleasantly surprised . 3.10 for a Latte may be steep(ish) for a student- but I have quite literally budgeted to try out as many cafes in fal as possible while I’m here- and given the quality of service and product, the price is more than fair. so far Beacon is winning ;) defo coming back

Popped into the Beacon following a recommendation from the another shop owner. What a find. Great coffee/tea and really fresh cakes and pastries. They were especially welcoming to a couple of old wrinkles. Thanks for a lovely comfort stop.

Popped in for a filtered v60 coffee and latte with the family. Great friendly atmosphere with amazing customer service. The V60 coffee was spot on and hit the high notes in favours. The latte was super tasty I was informed by my wife, that I had one after my v60 coffee and she wasn’t wrong. Certainly recommend this independent coffee shop and is well named. It’s a beacon to head for when it comes to coffee.

I'll start by saying: I'm a coffee guy. I've spent almost £5k on my own machines at home. I love coffee. This is the best coffee in Falmouth. I visit to buy beans and have a flat white every time I walk into town. They have a constantly refreshed variety of coffees from specialty roasters around the world, and they have a good knack for choosing the best. The passion for coffee is clear in their expert knowledge and it's shown in the taste of the drinks. Bottom line: If you fancy a coffee right now, or want to buy some grounds/beans for home use, this is the best place in town and you will not be disappointed. Cons: They shut at 2:30pm most days and I sometimes work nights so they're shut once I'm ready for my coffee!

Coffee perfection in a nice little bustling cafe with very nice staff. I can see why the cafe is busy with coffee this good with a couple of suberb beans on offer & a decaf option. A La Marzocco in place, the king of the coffee machine world, these guys don't skimp. A small selection of high quality pastries & cakes available, perhaps a few plain croissants would have been nice to see personally. Good luck guys, keep doing what you're doing.

I just had the best coffee of my week in Falmouth. Strongly recommend that if you like Barista made coffees you stop here. Also the latte art was pretty cool too. Regret not taking a photo to share.

My wife and I popped into this specialist coffee shop whilst visiting Falmouth, and had a lovely batch brewed V60 for two served in a carafe. Not only did it taste fantastic, it was very reasonably priced, especially when compared to what you get in most other coffee shops. In fact, most other coffee shops don’t even offer pour over coffee. The shop is shop itself is modern and smart, and the service was great.

A little gem at the far end of town Well worth the stroll. Raspberry tart and carrot cake - both light and delicious Coffee very good too. 2 different blends.

Nowadays it’s not so rare to find a good coffee shop. Good coffee is available everywhere so I feel like coffee shops have had to up their game. But good decaf is still hard to find. So if you’re in Falmouth and you’re looking for good decaf, look no further. A deliciously creamy, not too strong but not too weak, iced, oat milk, decaf latte. Oh, and the brownie with white chocolate was delicious too.

Spent a few days in Maenporth and visited Beacon on most days because the coffee was so great and the friendly customer service excellent.. I took my cousin and her husband who were down on holiday with us and she was not a coffee drinker at all, as she found them too bitter. I explained that ‘Beacon’ coffee would be a different and Alex and Sam explained the process and the reason behind her bitter coffee experience. Anyway, she tried a one shot Cortado and she was amazed at how sweet and lovely the coffee was and we visited Beacon for coffee over the next 3 days. She, now understands what a good coffee should taste like. Thanks Beacon.

It's good coffee with friendly service. I drink a cappuccino and do find thier beans a little soft in flavor for this type of drink. (Even when choosing the strongest bean on offer)
