The best restaurants serving Asian food in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Ordered for the first time from Sawai Thai last night and overall was very impressed with the quality, quantity and value of food on offer. We bought 2x Chicken jasmine rice dishes and a portion of chips to share. The order came to £25 including a can of coke and although £2.50 for a can is pretty steep the overall cost of everything I think is reasonable given location and quality. We headed over to Pentire Headland a couple minutes up the road to catch a beautiful sunset and enjoy some lovely food. The fried rice was beautiful and sticky but not stodgy. The chicken was fresh, moist, tasty and plentiful. There was a decent amount of veg and the meal felt healthier than most takeaway. The Chips at £4.50 were okay. Presumably generic frozen chips. Portion size was fair for sharing with another dish. Weren't awful but probably wouldn't order again. Also no vinegar available. Also to note on the picture there is 1 very salty chip.. I put my own salt on this wasn't done by the cooks. The main dishes however were so good yesterday I'm coming back later today to try some other dishes and hopefully catching another stunning sunset over Crantock/Fistral! Also to note staff were nice and friendly. Based on my first experience I'd rate it a solid 8.5/10. Will update this review after I've tried some more food tonight. UPDATED REVIEW... So I did return the day after as it was so good and this time I wanted to try some noodle dishes and also wanted to try some other meats. I ordered Pork Pad Mee Korat which was a spicy rice noodle dish with pork and was absolutely delicious! It was fairly spicy with a decent kick but not overwhelming. The missus ordered Chicken Pad Thai which again was rice noodles and chicken in a more mild sauce which was also fantastic. I also wanted to try the beef so we ordered the same jasmine fried rice dish as the previous day but with beef instead of chicken. Again the rice dish was lovely just as I had already experienced and the beef was super moist and tasty. Having tried the chicken and beef I would suggest the chicken works better in that specific dish. Another minor point as I had with the chips on the previous visit, the spring rolls were not the best. Like the chips they weren't terrible but not value for money. For £6 you get a portion of 4 spring rolls which in fairness taste nice enough but they're not the biggest and not particularly well filled. I'd say they were about 75% batter. TO SUMMARISE My overall experience from 2 back to back visits is some genuinely fantastic Thai cooking. Rice dishes and noodle dishes are equally brilliant and the beef, chicken and pork I've tried were all delicious and generously portioned. A couple of minor points for the chips and spring rolls which are not so great and also on the expensive side but the main dishes are piping hot, rammed with protein and absolutely full of fresh ingredients and flavour offering affordable quality takeout great value for money. Overall I'd give this a 9 out of 10 based on 2 visits and I can see this becoming my regular food spot in Newquay. I'm excited to get creative and try more dishes I've never thought of ordering. Absolutely brilliant place.

Visited in July and again at the end of September. Had the curry box and the wife had the Buddha box Both times a really good mix of flavours in each . Will definitely be back next time we are down in Cornwall

We had been recommended by locals to visit this restaurant being told, the best Indian Thai & Chinese for miles. 💯 would recommend for taste, service and quirky cuisine/environment situated in an old mill, within 5 miles from Padstow and Wadebridge.

We booked a table at the last minute and were glad we did the food was delicious and authentic and very good value for money. we had a mix of starters, tofu tord, satay chicken and spring rolls then Pad Thai for mains a meat one and a veggie one

We ordered a takeaway from Yak and Yeti as they had really great Vegan options. The food was delivered (free) hot, on time, with free popadoms and was utterly delicious. A lot of Asian takeaways can be very oily and greasy, but this was just perfection. The coconut rice made it. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing food and friendly service. Expect a short wait as food is all cooked fresh but definitely worth the wait.

Definitely recommend to visit the place for authentic Thai food ! It's very delicious ! Also, we were lucky enough to get a table with a nice clear view of the St Ives harbour/bay. Service is quite fast ! Staff is friendly and very helpful ! Food quantity is sufficient! We had ordered: 1. veg spring rolls for starters 2. Thai Green curry with Jasmine rice 3. Chicken noodles

Such a let down as we have visited Mannings many times over a number of years and as my previous reviews state it was a great experience. Sadly not any more. Staff are inattentive, poorly trained and defensive. Cocktails took a longer than deemed reasonable to make and some slopped all down the glass. No welcome on arrival in an empty bar. It could be the flagship of the City. There are much better places to get a cocktail so try the Thomas Daniel where you get a warm welcome and smiles from very well trained staff.

Been going here for years with friends and family . The food has always been top notch unfortunately the service here seems to have slipped badly recently . We had a valentines 3 course meal there . Terrible night . Other couples where also very Dissatisfied and unhappy . There was clearly a staff problem granted . But to not care or apologise for the terrible service and experience to have there then ignoring my emails this was the last straw . Unfortunately we will not be going back here . Felt embarrassed that I had taken my girlfriend there tbh .

Best curry to takeaway in Liskeard by a country mile. All breads are made fresh on the premises and the chappatis are fantastic. Highly recommended. Carl.

We love the Gurkha St Austell. Excellent vegan food. All freshly cooked and served. Lovely staff who are always pleased to see you.
