Have just learned that Sea Fever is now permanently closed. To say I am gutted is an understatement, we have been there many times and each meal was absolutely superb, it was our main reason for visiting Bude from Hertfordshire, we would stay 2 nights and eat there on both of them.

If you want fresh you aren’t getting much fresher, unless you are getting up early and on the boats with these guys. I bough a pot each of freshly cooked, Mussels, Cockles and Lobster from the friendly lady and seasoned them with the available salt, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce. I then spent the next 15 mins wandering the beach and the rock pools with my 4 yr old and enjoying the tastes of the sea. Best shellfish I’ve had this year. The same shellfish are available for £88 a plate in the nearby Nathan outlaw cafe. Today I appreciated the simple pleasures with less swearing involved in the prep and for just over a tenner.

Really chilled and friendly place, absolutely delicious moules (we tried the mariniere and cider & bacon), we also had the mushroom & tarragon pasta which was really fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Have eaten here multiple times and it’s been 10/10 ever time, we both had the chicken kebab last night and was one of the best takeaways I’ve ever had. Highly recommended..

Wow what a little gem this is. The perfect marriage of high quality ingredients, and thoughtful preparation. Foodie heaven.

Having looked at the menu and not being a massive fan of fish dishes, I have put off eating here, particularly in light of the queues you generally see of people waiting to dine. My wife, on the other hand, does enjoy sea food, and as there was no queue, we gave it a go. The staff are very friendly, attentive and efficient. The first waitress who attended us took our drinks order and explained the menu to us. They are small plates but larger than tapas style. Good for someone like me, who has little experience eating fish (other than battered) and might like to try something new. To order, you mark your selection on the menu and hand it over to a waitress. It is a process I hadn't come across before but works very well. I had scallops and mackerel, and my wife tried the battered cod and prawns. We also had sides of chips and new potatoes. All the dishes were nicely presented and very tasty. The staff checked on us several times, and the interactions between themselves and the customers helped to make it a very comfortable and relaxed mid day meal. I will definitely return and would even queue (for a short while) for the same experience. I think I'll try the crab dish next time. It looked very appetising. In summary, it was well prepared, tasty food, served by good staff at a reasonable price.

This is a fantastic (tiny) restaurant, one sitting only, tasting menu only, with most courses seafood based, ingenious, delicious and perfect size. With 14 covers it's really intimate and has converted us to raw oysters! Highlights on the menu were those oysters, the tempura ones too, the trout, the seabass and the very unusual "cheeseboard" dessert, with amazing toasted malt loaf. A wine pairing is offered (quite quirky) and we again decided to share one (generous glasses!), with an occasional beer too. The atmosphere is lovely and although, we chose to sit at one of the two tables, we were close enough to the "theatre kitchen" counter seating to hear and see the fresh food cooking and chef chatting. Amazing evening, we will return and wish OFS well in the off-season
