Delicious seafood lunch, especially the Calamari!

Found this place while searching for a place to have lunch while walking in the area. We planned the day of our walk so we could visit. We were not disappointed. Food was amazing and so fresh.

Absolutely brilliant. We had one of each of the fish dishes and they were all on point. The only downside is they were out scallops!

A wonderful meal in a beautiful location! We got the monkfish and the scallops and both were excellent, full of flavour and tasted so incredibly fresh. The chips, salad and dressings were also delicious and made for a perfect lunch. We'll definitely return next time we're in Cornwall!

Amazingly fresh fish, scallops and blackened monkfish, fries, coleslaw. Scallops perfectly cooked, fish was tender, flavourful. Sunday lunchtime, it was busy and great service and BYOB worked well. Village shop has a selection of chilled beer, cider and wine if in need. We will be back

Ok place , good service but some of the food looked frozen

What a great find. We love sea food and this little place hit all the right food notes. Fresh, light, tasty food. Family of 4 went away extremely happy. From steak, to crab enchiladas, haddock. Fries with skins on. All comes with a very light salad and fires. We would love one of your #baiteshed# in Devon we would be a regulars. Thank you for an experience with very fresh food. Highy recommended to experience and hidden gem. We will visit again. Thank you. Can we have a nice wine next time we visit 🥂

The best scallops I've had. Ever. Super fresh, beautifully cooked, unfussy, generous portions, more than fairly priced. Gives any high-end seafood restaurant a run for it's money.

We stopped off here from a drink, great service, very friendly, and probably the best coffee, we had in Cornwall.

Really great food. I only realized afterwards that they were even on tv some time ago. Impressive to see what they can produce in such a small area. One of my daughters does not like soggy fries, so great to find out they were nice and crispy. Really worth the visit!

If you want to taste the Cornish sea then this place you have to try.. The food was out of this world my scallops where cooked to perfection, the chips was the best chips I've ever had cooked to perfection.. I was so happy after eating my scallops I went and ordered the calamari and that was perfect to.. I HIGHLY recommend this place.. The service was brilliant the staff so friendly.. It is now my favourite place and it right on my doorstep.. Top Mark to the Chefs and staff..

This place is a hidden gem!! I cannot recommend them enough. Food was exceptional and all locally sourced, and the guys were very friendly, talkative and welcoming. I highly recommend this place! If you are looking for quality seafood, outdoors and with a view of the sea then this is a must Food wise - try the curried monkfish - wow!!!

We keep meaning to pop down and finally made it today, and we weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious…my hubby had the steak with roasted pepper cous cous and I had the breaded pollock with skin on fries. The service was great and the staff really friendly and pleasant. We will definitely be back!!

Possibly the tastiest dinner I’ve had in a long time! Fresh, tasty and generous portions.

We came across this little gem by chance on visiting the harbour & we are just so glad we stopped for a bite of lunch. It is served from a van & there are bench tables to sit on to eat or you can take away. We had hake with black olive tapenade, it came with a salad & one had chips, the other had red onion salad. Wow it was just so tasty as the tapenade also had some herbs in it, possibly salsa verde. Just so fresh & good quality ingredients. If I could give it more stars I would! Well worth the visit & very reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Lovely fresh food, we had the crab (x2) monkfish fingers and a burger. All were extremely good. With excellent sides of skin on fries or new potatoes with a fresh salad. Wonderful service, checking to see what we thought of the crab quesadillas as these were new to the menu. Location on the harbourside is great, even on a windy day. Well worth a try if you are near.

Who knew you can eat restaurant quality food from a trailer? These guys don’t just deliver one thing really well, there is a varied menu. We had lunch and dinner here and all options were executed with care and were absolutely delicious. The stunning view is an extra bonus. What a spot! Keep up the great work.

So glad we discovered the Bait Shed. The food is delicious and I would highly reccomend a visit. The Thai Crab cakes and cous cous was amzing! We enjoyed it so much we went back the following day for another meal.

You have to visit this it's the most awesome freshly cooked food in a lovely setting by the harbour

Possibly the best meal I've had while in Cornwall. Really sweet scallops, perfect bavette steak and really really good chips! Try the arancini too, it's amazing!

Having read the reviews we were keen to give some locally cooked fresh fish ago. We visited for lunch and I was so pleased we did as the considering the food was from a small trailer the quality and service was amazing. We would recommend the monk fish. So nice to sit on the beach front with yummy food.

Monkfish Goujons and Crab Aranchini, served with skin on chips. Absolutely delicious! Look forward to eating with you again this weekend and seeing you back next year.

Fabulous find in Portreath. Small business owned by locals called the Bait Shed. Specialising in Iittle bites, using locally caught fish & shellfish. We had crab aroncchini with alioli & chips. There was also a steak chimichuri for non fish lovers. Would highly recommend but...

Was eyeing up this place all week and it didn’t disappoint on our last day. The calamari and scallops were better than I have had in many a restaurant. Worth a visit on the harbour if there.

Absolutely delicious food, cooked to perfection, enjoyed sat on harbour side in evening sunshine… we had the Arancini crab balls, the fresh hake and the scallops.

Only open for part of the week but a really interesting, super fresh, good value meal. Search it out take your own alcohol & use the tables next to the trailer. We had monkfish goujons and chorizo & scallops. Would definitely recommend.

Super fresh, super friendly, super yum! I had a mix of the mackerel and the scallops. Both delicious. The Asian slaw also tasty. Cooked on the spot in about ten minutes. Plenty of benches. Disposable wooden cutlery and boxed food.

Great food. Loved the Monkfish with quinoa. From afar looks like a shed to get fishing bait. On closer inspection it serves delicious hi class food.

We have visited 3 times in last 10 days. Interesting well prepared fresh sea food scallops hake, calmari etc Cooked fresh so around 20 min wait but worth it. Friendly service peaceful location. Very good value fully reccomend.

Had the seared scallops, chilli and cous cous salad. What can I say? Better than any Michelin starred restaurant! If only they had a licence. But then it would be perfect and nothing can be perfect ;). Simply marvellous!

This has to be the best place for fresh fish. Second visit in 2 weeks, today the best scallops with a fab salad and hake with seasoned fries. Omg these guys deserve the best reviews. Returning again Fri when both day off again. Thanks again

This was. Incredible. Softest, buttery-est scallops I’ve ever eaten! Stumbled upon it by accident when the pub kitchen was closed and so happy we did!

Great find in Portreath, the Sun was shining and we were treated to a late Lunch of blackened Monkfish and Crab Arancini. I reckon the Arancini were possibly some of the best I have ever had, the side of chips were tasty and the salad was bright and tasty. top job. thanks

Great lunch. We shared scallops and crab burger. Clearly all cooked fresh alongside some excellent salad. Worth walking out to the end of the harbour in Portreath for some good grub!
