Great place, fantastic food. So good I forgot to take pics. We had mostly tapas. It was all well cooked and tasted wonderful. A standout was the scallops and chilli king prawns. Very small restaurant (booking essential) and could be hard to park in high season. Recommend.

Very casual chill place, had some tapas to get a variety of seafood: hake, prawns and scallops were all very tasty. While tapas seem like not too much food, they’re actually very filling. Had it all accompanied by bread and potatoes for two of us.

We had lunch here whilst on holiday with our camper van. The guys there were super friendly and they didn't have any problems accommodating us and our three dogs. We shared a few tapas dishes, and the portions were quite big for being tapas dishes. 4 were enough between the two of us. They were all really yummy with lots of flavours. I just love this kind of place where you get fabulous food in a very relaxed place. Thanks for a great experience. I would recommend everyone to eat here. It's a shame we don't live closer.

After a very long tiring journey from Bavaria/Germany to Cornwall, we finally arrived absolutely famished late in the evening in St. Agnes. Finding all other eating places closed, the Shellfish Beach delli was our last hope. Matt tried to stop us when we burst in the door but he immediately gave in when we explained that it was a "matter of life or death" and that we would be so grateful if he could just whip up something quick for us! We were absolutely amazed when he conjured up some tasty little starters and then a delicious fish and chickpea curry. This little gem of restaurant is a must if you appreciate extremely friendly service combined with excellent food (especially the seafood linguine) and a cosy, unpretentious atmosphere! We were so enraptured by our first evening that we all agreed the last evening of our holiday would also be spent there. What a lovely memory to take back to Germany. We will never forget it. A special thankyou to Matt and all the staff for giving us such a lovely time. English friends and relations have been instructed to make a point of popping in when they're down in Cornwall! Popped in on the off chance and despite them having a large booking coming in at 7pm, they made us welcome and apologised profusely for the fact that we couldn’t stay more than an hour. The service was warm, efficient and attentive. We spent £70 on a lovely meal of oysters, mackerel pate, crab pasta and fish stew. Washed down with a bottle of white Rioja recommended by the waiter. An all round lovely experience.

Visited on our latest trip to this wonderful village. We both had the crab sandwich on a granary roll (direct from the St Agnes Bakery). Without doubt the best crab sandwich either of us has every had. The crab meat was delicious, the bread to die for. The owner recommended a wine to go with it and it was perfect. Excellent value for money, I sincerely hope this restaurant is still there when we next visit, perfect!

I found this on my iPad map about 4:30 in the afternoon while looking for some seafood. My wife and I walked the 5-10 minutes knowing they closed at 5. We realized when we arrived that we had been past it earlier. When we walked in Matt welcomed us in and offered to fix us each his crab roll even though it was close to closing time. Well worth the wait! Best crab roll we’ve had. Roll was delicious and filled with delicious crab (picture). We were able to take our time and not rushed. Would gladly return again. Very enjoyable meal and experience!

We walked into the Shellfish beach deli one windy friday night feeling a bit worn out and down and were suddenly transported into a happy, fun summer holiday funky feel. Jazz and blues music to start off with and I almost expected glamorous women with cigarette holders at the bar from the 1940's to appear. The party of people at the next table were having everything on the Menu - Oysters, Coquille St Jacques, Cockles, Fish Stew, Scallops with honey butter and more.We decided to share some oystrers and Coquilles St Jacques which were so fresh and so delicious. followed by Fish strew with Aoili and Scallops. All delicious but its simple. No salad, no accompanents except bread and wine of course. LImited wine list but we had lovely white rioja. By this time The Gypsy Kings were playing and my spirits were up and had they served brandy and coffee I would have had both and been dancing - not that anybody else was! Great atmosphere, friendly staff - can't wait to go again and almost don't want to share this new favourite place!

This tiny funky little deli/restaurant is brimming with atmosphere and is a very special 'find'. I called to book a table for dinner but sadly was too late as it was all booked up but the charming owner said that instead they were open from 12 - 5 for a lovely glass of chilled white rioja and a crab sandwich and we wouldn't need to book - the rest is history. The place a had a lovely buzz and is a bit bonkers with butchers blocks for tables and corrugated tin lined ceiling. I have genuinely never had the likes of his crab sandwich and at £12.50, that might sound a bit steep for a sandwich but the doorstep of delicious granary break, a good slathering of real butter and a crab filling that must have been 3cm thick, it was great value and utterly divine. You have to try this place. Just make sure you budge up if I arrive and there are no seats left for me!

The trouble with writing a review which the Shellfish Beach Deli deserves means that it will inevitably becomes too popular, but I’m writing it anyway because this little place deserves all the accolades it can have! A simple crab sandwich and fish soup which we shared for lunch on valentines day, with a glass of Rioja and a warm welcome from Mat, was a wonderful first visit. St Aggie is so lucky to have this gem of a place, among others such as the bakery near by! Matt your a star and you made our day.....Thank you so much...we’ll be back soon.

Having looked at the menu and not being a massive fan of fish dishes, I have put off eating here, particularly in light of the queues you generally see of people waiting to dine. My wife, on the other hand, does enjoy sea food, and as there was no queue, we gave it a go. The staff are very friendly, attentive and efficient. The first waitress who attended us took our drinks order and explained the menu to us. They are small plates but larger than tapas style. Good for someone like me, who has little experience eating fish (other than battered) and might like to try something new. To order, you mark your selection on the menu and hand it over to a waitress. It is a process I hadn't come across before but works very well. I had scallops and mackerel, and my wife tried the battered cod and prawns. We also had sides of chips and new potatoes. All the dishes were nicely presented and very tasty. The staff checked on us several times, and the interactions between themselves and the customers helped to make it a very comfortable and relaxed mid day meal. I will definitely return and would even queue (for a short while) for the same experience. I think I'll try the crab dish next time. It looked very appetising. In summary, it was well prepared, tasty food, served by good staff at a reasonable price.
