Really chilled and friendly place, absolutely delicious moules (we tried the mariniere and cider & bacon), we also had the mushroom & tarragon pasta which was really fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Beautiful places, lovey staff and right by the seafront and good wine. The only thing is we were a bit let down by the food. We had the tomato prawn pasta and the mushroom tarragon pasta. Both were quite bland (you could tell the seasoning was fresh though). But the biggest let down was the pasta, if it was fresh I think it wood make a huge difference.

If you do nothing else in Newquay, visit this small room restaurant for a bowl of mussels. I had them in cider and bacon, it was delicious, with a glass of red wine.

Sublime! Who would have thought there are so many ways you can serve mussels and all of them are magnificent. Yes not the first tile I’ve been nor will it be the last. A MUST on every trip to Newquay.

We were very excited to go to this place considering multitude of positive reviews found on Google. Food served there is nowhere near authentic and does not taste of anything. We ordered number of tapas and chef who prepared out food most likely forgot that there is an ingredient called “salt” as majority of the dishes taste of nothing. We ordered a bottle of wine so received a complimentary olives -when we tried them we understood why they are complimentary.. (very washed out and lack any flavour, probably from the tin). Restaurant claims that they serve good seafood and tapas - majority of the options and deep fried and effectively dried out and killed by the time they arrive to your table. Pill Pill prawns - only smoked powdered paprika added does not automatically transform any dish into Spanish cuisine - it was bland and once again - no flavours at all (quite bitter due to excessive amounts of smoked powdered paprika). Overall very bad experience when it comes to food quality and authenticity. We ate at seafood Michelin star restaurant night before and were blown away by the quality and execution of all dishes there - and funny enough, only paid 20 quid more than in Fish Bar. Terrible experience overall and felt like I was cheated from start to finish. Cannot fault the waiters - poor girls trying their best but whole thing is overshadowed by the incompetence of the chefs.

We have come to Cornwall for a seafood eating weekend, and this was our first restaurant, then Argue, Newlyn and hook on the rocks, Falmouth. We were not disappointed. Delicious food. Lovely evening.
