One Fish Street in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

If you are in St Ives, like a Michelin quality tasting menu, then your choice is a bit limited. You could go over to the Ugly Butterfly in Carbis Bay, but there really is no need to do so as Bradley and Isaac will present you with eleven courses of inventive dishes based largely on local produce. The setting is intimate with only 14 covers and only one sitting at 7pm but worth every penny.

This is a lovely cosy little restaurant, smack bang in the centre of St Ives. The four of us loved everything about it, from the friendly informative service to the super execution and presentation of each and every tasty dish. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to St Ives.

Loved our lunch here. Delicious fresh oysters and we ordered a second chicken pate! Very friendly service too.

This was our first time at One Fish Street but boy oh boy was it worth it! Flavour, flavour , flavour! Spice, sweetness , sour , bitter, all were consumed. If you enjoy tasting menus and you choose the right wine..... its the best place in St Ives for a Tasting Menu. I just wished they had put on a Cornish Pasty😆😁 ..........Fabulous!!

Wow just wow! This place never disappoints. We were here on our third visit and our first time in its new location. The food is outstanding and each course was so brilliantly executed and thought out. The staff are lovely and our waitress talked us through every morsel with warmth and enthusiasm. The combination of flavours and textures was fantastic from start to finish. I can't even think of a favourite part as it was all delicious and in a way I want to keep it to myself. Can't wait to go back next year.

If anyone is thinking about booking this restaurant, it is an absolute must! It is one of the best I have frequented in the past few years. The food is amazing, the cocktails are excellent and the owner and staff are brilliant. The tasting menu was out of this world in a small and welcoming open kitchen. Absolutely love one fish street! We try to return every year when we come to St Ives and it never disappoints. We were on a tighter budget this year and loved the lunch option for the same special treat for less £ - thanks for providing this! We went to One Fish Street fir our 20th anniversary dinner and we cannot use words to describe this restaurant. It is small with only 14 seats but that is what makes it so special. Everyone has the tasting menu which starts at 1930 and for next two hours you sample the delights of a very talented chef. Bradley’s food is simply outstanding, not pretentious in the slightest. His food is playful. The fillet of fish is fabulous. The addition of some American cheese with the fish on a bao bun was clever. The chicken liver parfait as the first of the ‘snacks’ was genius, served between crisp chicken skin with Parmesan cheese was yummy. The Gambero Rosso Dumplings were divine, spicy and so tasty. The hogget neck, roasted hake with Marsala sausage, I could go on. Everything on the 11 course was simply sublime. We have eaten many ‘tasting menus’ and this has to be one on the best, if not the best ever. The staff at One Fish have got it right. It is like being invited to a private dinner party, everyone talking to each other, amazing service,outstanding food, wow!!!!!!! This is paired down excellence, a lot of places could take a leaf out of this book. You feel wanted, no superiority. You are simply in the presence of a great chef. Truly overwhelmed by the experience.

Straight into my top 3 dining experiences, what a stunning meal. Sublime tasting menu in a casual setting, is just about perfect and amazing value. Absolutely make a booking and enjoy the talents of this young, friendly, welcoming, gifted team. A real focus on local in-season ingredients, expertly paired and beautifully presented. We couldn't stretch to the wine matching but there were some stunning wines on the menu. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Will definitely return.

The best tasting menu and dinner you’ll have in Cornwall! The food and service are exceptional. If you’re looking for an intimate dining experience with great food and wine, One Fish Street is the place to book!

Visited for the first time for our anniversary and we had a wonderful evening. The service was personal, friendly and attentive without being over the top. The food was really tasty and great value, and each dish was top notch, but the desert of chefs own honey, apple, Chantelle cream was off the scale. I also want some of those dishes you served the desert in, so if you want to sell two then let me know 🤞🤞. Would highly recommend and we will go back. Tell the barmaid she should add the lemon cocktail to the menu and the plum sake with desert was beautiful. Only thing to be aware of is parking is limited so get the in plenty of time.

Excellent food on the tasting menu that surprised and exited in equal measure.

My culinary bar is set pretty high and as a result I rarely leave reviews as I know what goes into making a decent meal and I don’t think it fair to damn with feint praise because my hopes have been left wanting. That was not case at One Fish Street. You excelled. OK it was a quiet, wet evening in St Ives, reflected in the turnout, but that was entirely irrelevant when presented with the quality and care (pride) of each course served with the most affable and honest service I can recall. I’m struggling to pick one course over another on the tasting menu, but failing. All were exceptional. Perhaps, probably, one of the best meals this year with no caveat or Michelin references needed. This is my fourth visit in three years, and I am a fan of this restaurant. I view it as a real once-a-year treat. This fourth visit was as good as the previous three, and we had a great time- quiet ambience, delightful waitress, and the food was as delicious and beautifully presented as expected (hoped for). Basically although I'm a good home cook, I wouldn't be able to produce what is provided here, and that's what I want when I go somewhere high end like this. Add in the cocktails (fir sour and cucumber martini) and all of our group were seriously happy.

Booked this restaurant on recommendation. We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely brilliant. Every dish had subtle flavours without being overpowering. The waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. We didn't have the wine pairings but could hear her describing each one to those on tables near us, she was very knowledgeable. I cannot wait to return to this gem of a restaurant it was probably the best meal I've ever had.

We were on holiday and were looking for somewhere special for the Saturday night. We enjoyed what we had and the beef sirloin was outstanding with excellent flavour and cooked to perfection. However the Grill House menu on that Saturday night did feel a little limited with more prominence given to the Tasting Menu which I couldn't have because of a seafood allergy. I had told them in advance no seafood but even the chips served with the sirloin were cooked in the same oil as their oysters so I couldn't have them and they couldn't offer an alternative. This is clearly an ambitious chef who shows a lot of flair and technique but I think he needs to broaden his menu a bit. Service was friendly but slow.

Overly impressed with One Fish Street ... their grill night menu maybe limited but what they offer is first class ingredients, cooked to absolute perfection, and served with friendly smiles. Creative twists with flavours ... whilst still showcasing the super fresh seafood... we mix and matched starters and mains (we don't eat meat and wanted to sample as much as we could). We had hake with pimento alioli, crab arranccini, chilli buffalo mozzarella, and star of the show ... ray wing with masala sauce and yoghurt. First time eating Ray wing, and the waitress kindly showed me how to remove from the bone. Well done Chef for creativity and keeping your ingredients true and fresh.

Disappointing experience, We were really looking foward to a meal here so its a shame wexdidn t enjoy it. We went on Saturday evening, found the service slow, 30 minutes before we even got a drink ! Food was good but not outstanding and very expensive. We have eaten in many restaurants including fine dining but would not recommend this one. There are many better places to eat in St Ives.

It’s been a couple weeks or so since we ate here and even still the place excites me when we walk past. Wow! There’s no other words for it. The vibes are relaxed, layed back and more casual than most fine dining spots, decor is fresh and modern, but with character, and the service smiley, chatty and always happy to explain whatever your interests lead you to ask, but what really shines is the food. Absolutely outstanding cookery, with the awards this place has racked up all making sense. The best opening half to a meal i have ever eaten, and I don’t think that’ll be beaten any time soon. The snacks were some of the best I’d ever had, all clearly painstakingly balanced to perfection for our enjoyment, the oysters being especially a stand out. The best dish of the night was the XO Hake, holy moly. Joint best dish I’ve ever eaten. Non of this is being said with decency bias either, it really was just that good! One desert made us feel a little sweet deprived at the end (sounds awful doesn’t it😅) but the one we got was so elegant how could I complain. Worth. Every. Single. Penny. Speaking to the staff too, each tasting menu only makes £6 in profit - and that’s when the place is fully booked - highlighting just how fine the margins are for restaurants. The price is high, but it should and could be a lot a lot higher, so tip well, and get a reservation while you still can :)

Fantastic tasting menu with lots of great flavours! Loved the Japanese fusion and all of the food was beautifully prepared and served. The staff are really nice and knowledgeable. All in all we had a great 2 1/2 hour experience.

This is a very nice restaurant and is in a good spot but I do think it is overpriced and a bit pretentious. Had small plates and starters, reasonably priced. However steak sharer was 82 quid and realistically was a main for one person. Small pot of fries and salad, boa bun ( decent size) and the steak. Maybe I'm just a sorry northerner and expected more for the 164 quid bill. I mean the food was terrific just feeling I had my eyes taken out. But as they say horses for courses.

We loved this little place tucked away off the main street. We went for cocktails and sharing plates and sat at the small bar area. The girls who served us were so lovely and the cocktails were my fave in St Ives.

Had a reservation tried to cancel it. Phoned the restaurant several times but they never answered the phone. I was then charged £160 due to no-show. After days of discussing they refuse to refund my money as they say I did not cancel. I was informed that the phone is the number of the director and not connected with the restaurant. I was told, I should have cancelled via email. When I went to the restaurant to ask for my money back, I was told they don't have a phone and therefore I could have not called to cancel!!! I am in disbelief over the rude service. How was I supposed to know that their phone is not connected to their restaurant? What restaurant doesn't have a phone? I am a student and £160 is a lot of money for me. I would have eaten fish and chips I would have never spend that much money. I was explaining the situation via email but they are refusing to refund my money. I am in disbelief over what happened. I genuinely called this place I don't know how many times to cancel there was never an answer. They also said they were unable to rebook the table that is why they charged me, due to financial loss. It is summer and St. Ives is full of tourists. It is so difficult to get a table in St Ives for dinner. I just can't believe they did not rebook the table.

Didn’t get the chance to eat there. Had to cancel booking last minute and received a condescending email about why they needed to charge me. It was understood this would be the case when I made the booking and in the email confirmation for the booking. I felt bad enough as it was, having to cancel my reservation and didn’t deserve to be shamed for needing to cancel last minute. For the price point I’ve had much better hospitality at similar high end restaurants around the world. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

This restaurant took orders from 6pm. We arrived at about 5.50pm. Although we were the first to place the order, our starters were served the last at approx. 6.40pm, even after those who ordered after us. The main courses were served at 7.30pm despite we chased a few times. The manager explained to us that the food was prepared only after all orders were taken and in random order. This did not explain why others who wanted the same thing had their food before us. She told us the main courses were served so late because we finished our starters late and the grilled monkfish took them 40min to cook and that was why we got the main course 1 h 50 min after we sat down. To compensate the wait, she promised to took a few dishes of the bill, but it never happened. Given that we were the only Chinese in the restaurant at that time, it made me have to suspect whether it was because of racism or not. Avoid, very poor service, don't go.

An absolute treat. We have been twice now and would go again in a heart beat. This is a truly special place to experience food which has been carefully thought about. So many amazing flavours! My wife used to hate fish and we decided to just risk it and we are so glad we did! Her first oyster experience, and first time eating mackerel after insisting she didn’t like it. It was amazing! It goes to show how lovely food can be when it’s flavoured and seasoned perfectly! We love this place, and returned for the third time last night. The food was as delicious as ever with an old favourite on the menu but a whole load of amazing new dishes. The restaurant has a lovely vibe, relaxed but with fantastic friendly service. Having eaten in lots of places in St Ives, I think this is hands down the best spot for a special seafood meal! We tried this place for the first time last night. What an experience! We were greeted so nicely and explained the menu. The restaurant is lovely and welcoming. As a fairly new fish eater I knew I was taking a risk! What an amazing place to be converted. We kicked off with a mescal margarita which was so good I could have drank it all night! There was the option for a drink flight with the menu which we’ll try next time! The cucumber based cocktail was the perfect pallet cleanser! We tried some wine which was really smooth. Neither of us had tried scallops before, and because they were so fresh and had been so carefully seasoned they were beautiful! Each course was just amazing, with so many different and perfect flavours. The structure of the menu meant that the order of the dishes coming out was perfect, with just the right time between courses. There was an optional extra course which I was jealous of when I saw it come out! We tried to pick a favourite but found it so hard! The arancini was to die for. The Thai course made me question my own cooking because it was the best I’d ever had! (What is the secret!?) All the fish was so fresh. The dessert was chocolate heaven which I never wanted to end, and they topped off the evening with freshly baked gooey cookies as a little treat. Bradley and Charlotte made us feel so welcome. Third time we've been, each time as good as the last. A restaurant for those who love quality over quantity (though you do get a very good feed), and are open-minded. I love the fact there is no choice, but I know it wouldn't be for everyone. Staff are charming and enthusiastic, ambience easy-going. Looking forward to going again with like-minded friends.

By far some of the best fish I’ve ever eaten. The food was phenomenal - out of this world crazy good. The staff were lovely, helpful and informative. I really enjoyed my meal here I’m still thinking about the food 3 days later….

Very nice food but very expensive as the tasting menu still left us hungry. Happy to rate four stars but wouldnt go again which is a shame. It was fairly empty when we went when every other restaurant this week was jam packed and booked...

One fish street is a a dining experience, it offers an amazing tasting menu, it’s not cheap but then it’s worth it. All local ingredients and cooked by the chef who we met. It’s definitely an adult’s restaurant. The atmosphere is cool and sophisticated and you’ll need to book if you want a table. Every course was delicious but they do get steadily bigger in portion size so make sure you’re hungry before you go but it’s still very manageable. You can also have the wines paired with each course as an extra treat but we didn’t opt for that. We had a refreshing martini cocktail instead. Definite worth a visit for the experience… it’s a bit of a fine dining treat. 🥰

Excellent meal here. I'm not normally a fan of seafood but came as my wife is. All I can say is that if I could have seafood like this, I'm converted. All 7 courses where excellent. The service was great too. Love the fact you can dip in/ out of the drinks menu. Our evening was perfect and I'm surprised that this has jumped into one of my best ever meals list.

Nice locallity but nothing special. Food was good to very good. But the wow moment hasnt been achieved. The service was good and not intrusive at all. Some special red wine event happend that night, not at our table...Hint: Maybe there are better ways to solve such problems. It was a nice evening! Thank you

My best restaurant visit this summer.

If you want a good tasting menu then go to this place, the staff, decor , ambiance, and most importantly the food is just 10/10, love the way everything goes together and every dish compliments everything. I would love to go again if it wasn’t...
