The Fish House - Fistral in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We visited The Fish house to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. The food was delicious, the location fabulous and the service as fantastic . Such a lovely team of staff at compliment the food

We had lunch here today. It’s quite a small space but don’t let that put you off. View over Fistral Beach is lovely. We sat down and were offered a drink and then left to choose food. My wife had the specials which were garlic prawns followed by plaice. I had squid followed by hake. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Drinks were cold. Great atmosphere in a small quirky space with no pretensions. Go there. Have a great meal.

If you love seafood this place is for you .. I chose the salt and pepper squid which came with a spicy salad , big starter portion , followed by the Sri Lankan curry with rice poppadom Dahl and fried shallot .. a large tasty main Very friendly , attentive but not hovering waitress who accommodated us perfectly. Approx £60 per head plus tip

We went for our engagement celebration dinner and it was an incredible experience start to finish. The view was amazing over the sea, the staff were great and the menu choice was excellent. We had a delicious three course meal and left very happy and full! A wonderful evening!

The food was awesome. The staff were so friendly. We had mussels and the Hot roaster, mussels, crab claw, scallop and 2 king prawns, it was just lovely. They allow dogs up to 4.30 too.

4th time at the Fish House and just keeps getting better! Amazing friendly staff who were great with our 2 kids who are both under 5. Possibly the greatest meal I have ever eaten! We were greeted by helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff and were shown to our table where we were left to peruse the menu without feeling pressured. The food was incredible, absolutely delicious. I’m still dreaming about it a week later! The only downside is I can’t go more often! Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

From the moment we booked I was super excited reading the reviews about this gem of a place. We were greeted by our amazing waitress Amelie. (5 star )All staff were very knowledgable re the specials board and also if our food was Ok, it was better than Ok, it was perfect!!!! I had the fish fritters to start and the batter was so light and the fish just melted in your mouth!! For my main I had the monkfish skewers which were so so tasty, hubby had the prawns to start which he said were really good and for his mains he had The Hake off the menu with pea puree, very fresh and delicate in flavour, we had a ice-cream to share with espresso and amaretto- just perfect, the setting is something else too, it feels like you are in the most beautiful place on the planet when the sunsets too. The chefs work really hard and you are able to see them doing their great work which is always nice to see! We would be back in a heartbeat, this was one of the best fish restaurants we have eaten in in a long time X

We sat outside overlooking the beautiful sea, and stayed warm with heaters and blankets whilst being served a wonderful fish dinner ; couldn’t have asked for better; service, qudioty if good, interesting menu, lovely staff, great views

Fantastic lunch at a really great restaurant. On a day visit only and did no research on where to enjoy lunch. Came upon The Fish House and was lucky to get a table outside on a sunny day. The front of house and all staff were excellent and attentive. The food was superb ( Caribbean style hake). What a lucky find for us and will return when next in the area.

We went in on the off chance that there would be a table available for lunch. We were lucky. Very warm welcome, helpful knowledgeable staff who explained the menu. We both decided on the starter on the specials menu accompanied by sour dough. The lunch was delicious and we will return on next visit to North Cornwall.

First visit to this restaurant while on holiday in Newquay. Lovely location overlooking the beach on a beautiful sunny night. I ordered from specials board for starter I had dressed crab with asparagus it was plate licking 10/10 my Husband had Fritto Misto it also was 10/10 for mains I had Sir lankan curry and Husbands skewered Balinese monkfish both incredible. Service it great we paid our bill then had a drink at tables outside in the sun it was all round a lovely experience. We hope to return to Cornwall on holiday in the near future we will definitely be back 🩷

Absolutely stunning, traveled from South Wales to stay in Newquay just to eat at the Fish House and would do it again! Friendly staff and the food was absolutely incredible.

Another 5* meal in the Fish House. Great food, great service, great prices, great view - what more could anybody want from a restaurant? Nothing!

Finally after wanting to visit The Fish House for absolutely years i was able to get a table. Did it disappoint - anticipation and expectations were high . Oh NO it did not if anything probably excelled them. Service was impeccable ; Quality and presentation of food outstanding; Ambiance - fantastic Price - starter/ main /wine all came to just over £100 Which we both thought was very reasonable. It's a small intimate restaurant so booking well in advance is recommended. Sunset views over Fistral Beach are fabulous It's a Fish restaurant not a burger bar.

Well, we try and book into The Fish House at least once per visit to Newquay. The food is without question “excellent” and the staff attentive throughout the meal without being overbearing. This is definitely our “Go To” restaurant for great food. “See you all next time”

Only a small place but the food, service and ambience were outstanding. If you really good well cooked fish dishes in Newquay come here. You will need to book well in advance though

Amazing food, with such a good selection of choices. The service was outstanding with our server being so courteous, friendly and efficient. We all managed 3 courses, which was testament to how outstanding the food was. We will definitely return.

Walked into the restaurant to an amazing lively fantastic vibe, was greeted and shown to our table Had the open scallops to start, they cooked perfectly and tasted amazing with the crisp ham giving it a nice crunchy texture. Had the roasted hot hell for the main with a side of fries, only had the small bowl and the portion size was big. Everything tasted fresh and well cooked. To finish I had the pavlova, strawberries had a nice crunch, the meringue was chewy and the cream added a nice touch of dairy. Waitress was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and specials, she gave a fantastic service.

Wow, what a little gem of a place this is and has an amazing view over fistral beech. This place has such a nice ambience, the staff were so lovely and welcoming and felt as if nothing was too much trouble. The waitress told us of the specials they had for the day, and with the menu, it was hard to choose from. When I did finally choose, I had the panko fried prawns to start with, then seabass for the main and pavlova to finish. All of the dishes served were absolutely delicious, fresh, and hot, and all of the flavours worked so well together. This place is small so I would highly recommend booking a table so you don't miss out. It is definitely worth a visit if you love your seafood. I will be visiting again thats for sure
