26/11/2018: Me and my family enjoyed amazing food and service. Atmosphere is really nice and we are going to come back! Thanks
21/11/2018: I was treated to Afternon tea here yesterday. The setting was perfect and we had a very relaxing afternoon enjoying different blends of tea, together with wonderful savouries, scones and cakes. I don’t eat cream, so there was a special cake stand for me with alternative sweet bites. What a magnificent selection of food. It was the best afternoon tea that I have ever sampled and there was no hurry to vacate our table. I need an excuse to return - soon!

McHalls Bistro

Claremont, Blackpool, <20£
02/12/2018: I’ve been here few times now and every single time it has been perfect. This time I came with my family for Sunday lunch and everyone loved it. Friendly host , cozy environment, and delicious food. Highly recommend this place.
02/12/2018: We’ve been coming to this fabulous place for nearly 4 years and never fails us. Such a warm greeting from Daniel. He smells delicious every time! The menu is fantastic, not too big and everything is cooked to perfection by Gavin in the kitchen. All home cooked and locally sourced ingredients. It was so good on Saturday night we came back for lunch on Sunday. Just be prepared if it’s your birthday!! Danny will have everyone singing to you. Love you guys xx

The Gateway Tearooms

Moorland, Teignbridge
06/12/2018: The Gateway tea Room and Cafe is situated right in the centre of Moretonhampstead. We needed a snack and a cup of tea. Lovely welcome, beautifully set comfortable tables with windows on two sides of the room. Lots to choose from on the menu, soups and light meals on the specials menu, just what we wanted. Very reasonable priced for well researched and thoughtful home cooking using some very special local ingredients. The meals were visually wonderful and tasted equally fine. A big pot of lovely tea poured into fine china cups. A real pleasure to brighten up a dull Dartmoor day.
24/11/2018: After a five hour drive to go halfway on what Google Maps told us was a 6 and 1/2 hour drive from London to Padstow (eek!), we found our way to the Gateway Tea Room with a only half hour to spare before they closed – but we were welcomed in like long-lost family. It was quaint and charming with lovely old embroidered table linens and pretty porcelain teapots and cups. We each had mini cream tea which was a pot of tea and one scone each. We each got our own cellar of Devon clotted cream and a tiny pot of strawberry preserves, which we each licked clean. Delightful!

Burr's Restaurant

Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
16/12/2018: Lovely atmosphere. Amazing food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend to anyone. Will be going again!
15/12/2018: We went to Burr’s for our works Christmas do and all had an absolutely fantastic Christmas lunch. The food was all delicious and everyone had a lovely time. I had the goats cheese tart which was lovely, the traditional turkey which was cooked to perfection and finished with the most divine salted caramel chocolate cheesecake!

Room With a View

Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay, Fife, 20-30£
17/11/2018: My brother is a retired chef who won many prizes in food competitions during his career. There isn’t much he doesn’t know about food of the highest quality. When we got married his wedding present to my beloved and I was a voucher to have a meal at Room With a View. It was one of the best eating out experiences of my life. That was a few years ago and, given that our eating out usually now includes a small boy who thinks McDonalds is fine dining (where did I go wrong?), sadly, we haven’t been back. So, when said boy was invited to a friend’s birthday sleepover it was the ideal opportunity for my beloved and I to revisit Room With a View. It did not disappoint! Every morsel of the food is of the very highest quality and with flavours beyond compare. The service was friendly and well paced. The little treats of amuse-bouche at the start and palette cleanser jelly after the main course are lovely touches. Beloved had Cullen Skink and Sea Bass and I had crevette encrusted in nuts and Thai Curry Monkfish. All taste sensations! Of course, when we got home I had to let my brother know we’d been back to the restaurant, how good the food was and how much we’d enjoyed our meal. Boy, was he jealous! Room With a View is his favourite restaurant ever..... and I know why!
07/10/2018: Dinner with my wife (anniversary) and we were not disappointed

The Tudor Room

Thorpe, Runnymede, 60-100£
15/12/2018: We have eaten in a lot of fine dining restaurants around the world but never in England. Our first time was at Tudor Room and it was superb. Food was outstanding and the service impeccable. Can’t wait to return.
11/12/2018: The restaurant itself is beautiful and the layout of the tables really gives it that sense of being the only diners in the room. I opted for the traditional Christmas dinner which was cooked to perfection but the highlight for me was the Christmas pudding! What really topped the whole experience off where the staff who where amazing.

Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
28/11/2018: Honestly - this was exactly what we needed after a very satisfying yet exhausting hike up and down Mount Snowdon! My best friend and I got back a little later than most, but this place was still open, and felt like a huge hug! Stefan was as wonderful as the much-needed cake and tea! He and his friends (who had come round to have dinner with him) were incredibly friendly, chatty and engaging. Stefan definitely caters for all kinds of guest as well, so whatever your background, age, race, religion, etc, he has the necessary knowledge and facilities to accommodate! Oh, and the fire - well, it's just perfect.
20/11/2018: What a welcoming place for a beer after climbing Snowdon. Stefan is the host here. Really nice fella serving fab local ales. Highly recommended

Ditto Restaurant

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough, >100£
03/12/2018: Very occasionally when eating out a good chef on his/her game can tempt me into trying something I wouldn’t normally dream of eating.
15/11/2018: great food, staff and ambience. we would recomend . we would go again when next in whitby. ....... .

Ye Olde Steppes

Pembridge and Lyonshall with Titley, Herefordshire, County of
12/12/2018: A brilliant place for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. Food and staff excellent. Also local fresh vegetables for sale as well as a variety of specialty breads from Swfts Bakery ( TV's Victorian Farm ).
23/11/2018: Visited today had a wonderful welcome from Sam and her team! Great coffee, super atmosphere, nothing changes! If you’re in the area you must visit!

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
03/12/2018: Exquisite meal. Very, very reasonably priced for the superior quality food served in this treasure of a restaurant. Made to feel instantly at home. Staff are perfect too, very attentive (but not obtrusive) and capable. Finest dining in St. Andrews in my honest opinion!
23/11/2018: Back here again. Just love it. Brilliant food great service such cosy decor. Can not fault anything except it’s too far from home to visit each week

The Green Yard Cafe

Bridport North, West Dorset
02/12/2018: Popped in for a quick bite. Always a fabulous welcome and an interesting and varied menu board. My gluten free cheese toasty was served with a cracking little salad and the bubble and squeak my companions had barely touched the sides ! Bridport is not short of an eating establishment but few come up to the quality on offer at the Green Yard. Fabulous.
02/12/2018: Good fresh tasty food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, varied menu, clean and tidy cafe, toilets which obviously regularly checked and don’t open directly into eating area. Have been several times and have been impressed every time. Thank you

Mill Race Teashop

Addlebrough, Richmondshire
03/12/2018: I had the afternoon tea with a super beef and blue cheese toasted sandwich and a cherry and almond scone - heavenly!!! - and this came with cream and jam. There were four small homemade cakes but I could only eat one so was given the others to take home. My husband had the Mill Race platter - ham and two cheeses and pork pie and he said it was so delicious. Lovely to have wonderful home baking - just makes it all appetizing!! Staff/Owner friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place and worth a visit if at Aysgarth Falls. All very reasonably priced. Lovely clean place. Our dog was also made very welcome.
29/11/2018: Visited on a Wednesday in November on a rainy visit to Asygarth Falls.

Norbury, Derbyshire Dales
02/12/2018: We were given a voucher to eat here as a birthday present from friends who adore the place & felt we needed to know why! Wow! We really loved the whole experience & loved the way each dish was explained and presented. There was no hurry to eat up or drink up. Leave at least 2 1/2 hours ( we were there 3 hours!) It’s a place to go for a special reason & really soak it all up. Great food. Not cheap!!
01/12/2018: Great food, incredibly reasonable price compared with what you can pay in the major cities for similar dining experiences (but which do not match this for quality!).

Falmouth Penwerris, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
25/11/2018: We have driven past this little gem so many times and was delighted to be treated to dinner there by our daughter and her partner. What can I say! Short and sweet menu which proved very difficult to chose from as it all looked so good. 3 x fillet steak and a venison. All were superb! Fantastic local produce and a passion to produce fantastic food using what is in season. Wendy was terrific and great fun think she sparred with my OH particularly well!! Thankyou for a great evening with stunning food.
16/11/2018: We went to Olivers for my daughters 18th birthday having seen the reviews and were so glad we did. It was so good that this is the first time I have ever written a review! Everything was perfect - how often can you say that?! The food was probably the best I have ever eaten, Wendy made us feel right at home and altogether a wonderful evening. Thank you Olivers

The Fig Tree

Hurstpierpoint and Downs, Mid Sussex
24/11/2018: Returned after 6 months and thought how will it be well it exceeded expectations and equal if not even better than first. The starters and mains to die for and deserts to double die for!!! We have been to a number of very good dining experiences and without doubt this has to be very high up (probably in top 3 in sussex and top 6 in south of England).
11/11/2018: We went with another couple on 21st Oct a Friday night we arrived very late and was still greeted well - despite so few tables
