City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
18/06/2018: We took friends here for high tea. Very good service, lovely surroundings. Lots to eat! Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion.
12/06/2018: Three of us visited for a belated birthday treat for my mother in laws 90th. One vegetarian catered for. From the instant we walked in the door this was a perfect experience. The lovely gentleman on the door wished MIL happy birthday and chatted to us. The staff were welcoming knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was just incredible and we were shocked to find we couldn't finish it. Every single detail was absolutely perfect even down to a birthday candle on the sweet platter. We will be back as soon as possible. Bravo!

Burr's Restaurant

Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
18/06/2018: I’ve eaten here many times now and never had a bad meal, menu is superb and staff very attentive and helpful. I have been with my grandchildren who are also catered for without a problem would highly recommend
12/06/2018: Nice cosy atmosphere, quality staff, good choice on menus and very, very nice food! My steak was melt in the mouth delicious and the portions were of a reasonable size that allowed space for dessert, which I usually end up skipping. The only down side was that I felt the vegetables of the day that were automatically served with the food ordered didn’t really go with steak! And would rather have had it served traditionally, but that’s minor matter.

The Brit Pub

Bryn and Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot, 20-30£
15/06/2018: I'd been recommended to go to The Brit by a work colleague and decided to go early on a Thursday evening. We were made very welcome and sat in the restaurant although you can eat in the bar area or the lovely garden at the back. The food was amazing - I had the herb crusted salmon and my son had the chorizo stuffed chicken - both were well cooked and very tasty. I would recommend anyone to try this pub and we will certainly return.
12/06/2018: We arrived at the Brit on a Monday but still open for food unusually for pubs. Lovely welcome from the manager who encouraged us to look around the garden beside the river which is lovely. We decided to both have Hake and chips - lovely touch of a rocket salad which came with it. Sadly no room for puds - good selection of local ales and gins. Met the owner who was a fellow motorhomer. Great ambience and cosy friendly local beside a lovely river.

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
08/06/2018: We loved everything about this place. It’s quaint. Superb food. Reasonably priced. Good service. Wonderful views. Just a short taxi ride from the main part of town. The best meal we had during our week in Scotland!
08/06/2018: About 5 miles east of St. Andrews is this old country house and inside is a dining delight. This small but perfect restaurant is just marvelous. My friend started with the veloute of pumpkin soup, crème fraiche which was warm and chock full of taste,...

The Tudor Room

Thorpe, Runnymede, 60-100£
22/05/2018: This was my third visit to the Tudor Room at the fabulous Great Fosters; my first for lunch. From meeting and chatting with Istvan, the charismatic Hungarian manager in the bar, through to dessert, the experience was sensational. It can only be a matter of time before a second Michelin star is added. For £34 (including £10% discount for membership), you will have the best four course lunch in Surrey in one of the most beautiful locations. You will be assisted in your choice of wine by the very best sommelier - who even remembered the wine I chose on my last visit several months earlier! My choices for lunch were canapé, scallops, pork and the cheese selection (selected by Istvan), with a fabulous glass of sharp yet not too dry Vouvray. All exceptional. Make no mistake, this is Waterside Inn style fayre in a more relaxed setting. Highly recommended!
12/05/2018: We had a brilliant time at the Tudor Room. I requested (in advance) a vegetarian meal and no goat products because of an allergy and they made special arrangements, and I had a wonderful meal. All the food was delicious, imaginative and beautifully presented.

Ditto Restaurant

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough, >100£
18/06/2018: We found Ditto restaurant via Trip Advisor and it had great reviews so we booked a table. We were so pleased that we did. The restaurant is small and intimate with no pressure for you to leave. The food was absolutely delicious, compliments to the chef. The waiting staff, Luke and Jude were very friendly and the service was efficient. When the restaurant was full there was a good atmosphere with people talking and laughing. There was music playing in the background which was very much to my taste. The price was very reasonable for the food and drinks considering the quality. Overall a fantastic experience and one we would thoroughly recommend to any one who enjoys fine dining. We would certainly return if in Whitby again.
17/06/2018: Amazing restaurant. Full of staff that really care about the place. Looking forward to coming back and trying out the evening menu. Well done

Ye Olde Steppes

Pembridge and Lyonshall with Titley, Herefordshire, County of
16/06/2018: The best gluten-free scones I've ever tasted and the kindest staff. I highly recommend the afternoon tea.
12/06/2018: Ye Olde Steppes came to our aid when we were planning a birthday party celebration. We wanted to have great food in the barn where we ( a group of 12) were staying without the hassle of cooking ourselves. One phone call to Sam at Ye Olde Steppes and everything was sorted.

Duncans Tearoom

Richmond West, Richmondshire, >100£
18/06/2018: Everything about this cafe is good. Great food -amazing cakes & deserts, friendly staff. Anyone would struggle to find anything to complain about here.
16/06/2018: This tearoom is absolutely delightful. It has a lovely ambience and Karen was so friendly, efficient and welcoming. The food is delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and would cheerfully recommend this tea room. If you enjoy a quintessentially English tea room this is well worth a visit. Well worth waiting if there are no free tables. This is our tea room of choice in Richmond.

Orangemabel

Alcester, Stratford-on-Avon, 20-30£
11/06/2018: I have always loved this place but today it didn't seem up to it's usual standard. The cake selection was quite poor even though it was only 11 o'clock. The cake we chose was nice but it is was chosen as the best of what there was on offer, and was not what would have been a normal choice. Being a lovely day we sat in the garden and were not offered the coffee top-ups that are usually on the menu here. A shame because a visit here is part of the reason for coming to Alcester.
10/06/2018: Two of us were turning 50 so invited friends to join us for vintage high tea. Good range of sandwiches with delicious coleslaw, salad and crisps, mix of fruit and plain scones with jam and clotted cream plus a range of superb cakes. To top it off, bottomless tea too - think we got through a couple of gallons since we sat and nattered for over 2 hours. Cafe is beautifully presented with beams, bunting, flowery table cloths and china like your nan had! Will definitely visit again. Lovely afternoon and a great memory. Thank you!

Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
18/06/2018: If I had my way I would make a visit to this place compulsory for anyone considering running a business in the service industry; a really warm welcome that made us feel they had been awaiting our arrival. My wife who declined anything alcoholic was presented with home made lemonade - on the house - and despite the place being busy the landlord took time to come and chat to us and suggest other places we might enjoy in the area. If only they were local!
17/06/2018: After a disappointing attempt to get up to the top of Snowdon, I came here with my father in law. It was a welcome site and gave us respite for descent down and a cheer us up from not being able to make it up very far. The hot drinks and teacakes were very welcome and the staff were lovely. We also got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.

Lumiere

Lansdown, Cheltenham, >100£
11/06/2018: Where do I start? This is our go to restaurant for all special occasions. It is a true food sensation, awakening the taste buds to flavours and combinations that are truly magical. The staff are polite and efficient and I can't speak highly enough about...
02/06/2018: We dined here on a Saturday evening and whilst it has few covers it was fully booked. Some suitable background music would have been nice. First thoughts were that the menu was very limited and bearing in mind this was meant to be fish restaurant no whole fish on the bone was served, just undersized fillets which made this very poor value for money at £22 for a main. Wine list was adequate if not extensive and service friendly although a little clumsy from one member if staff.
