17/06/2019: My wife is a fan of both tea and books, so I figured this would be a great place to have afternoon tea. Seated among the books in the Signet Library, it's a wonderful setting to enjoy a quite good afternoon tea. The food was what you'd expect from afternoon tea, but with a nice Scottish twist on several items. Tea selection was solid. Overall a very nice atmosphere with good tea and food.
13/06/2019: Had afternoon tea on Sunday with friends, it was absolutely gorgeous, the staff and service was first class also the food was beautiful, what a great selection of savouries and cakes and scones, lovely atmosphere and setting, definitely worth a visit and will certainly be going back.

Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
17/06/2019: 14 of us descended on this fab little tea room, first thing on Saturday morning after a very cold and wet midnight trek to Snowdons Summit.
17/06/2019: Stumbled across the Rosie Cider sign at 8.20pm, left at 9 after Steffan very kindly and enthusiastically gave us all the visitor information and recommendations all of which we undertook the following day. Went back again this evening to take my parents and he was again as exceptionally helpful offering guidance to all weary climbers. Steffan is so knowledgeable and an excellent host, very cheerful and thoughtful. A must place to visit even if you are not climbing Snowdon, just call in for a cuppa piece of cake and a chat. The fire was alight such and welcoming sight.

The Gateway Tearooms

Moorland, Teignbridge
09/06/2019: We booked a vegan afternoon tea for the bank holiday weekend giving 48 hours notice. Absolutely amazing, would recommend, cakes, scones, sandwiches and lovely owners,
27/05/2019: If you happen to be driving through Dartmoor National Park, make a stop for lunch or afternoon tea on your way. All old world charm with linen tablecloths and vintage crockery (yes you will get your tea served in a real china teapot), good service and seriously good food at a very reasonable price. They also cater for gluten free. A real hidden gem this one!

McHalls Bistro

Claremont, Blackpool, <20£
17/06/2019: 5 of us chose Mchalls to celebrate Pat's 70th Birthday. We were looked after superbly by Danny from arrival to departure, with nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent and good value. We will be back for future celebrations. Highly recommended. Thank you Danny for a fabulous night. Sharon and the girls x
13/06/2019: We all absolutely loved our Afternoon Tea. We had read the reviews and seen the photos, however, they did not prepare us for the outstanding customer service, quality of food and wonderful atmosphere in the lovely laid out tea room.

Wee Lochan

Partick West, Glasgow City
06/06/2019: Myself and my partner visited the restaurant tonight, we were welcomed with a warm smile and seated straight away. The menu was amazing as was the attentive waiting staff. Food was served promptly, no waiting about for anything. The portion size and quantity of each dish was perfect. We had a great first visit tonight and already talking about what to select from the menu on our next visit.
05/06/2019: Wee LOCHAN I can honestly say provided me with one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. A very creative menu which did not disappoint, lovely staff and very relaxing. I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen for a while and even after we finished, we weren't rushed out the door despite it being at the end of lunch service. We will definitely be returning and cannot recommend highly enough.

Chapel House Tea Rooms

Dunster and Timberscombe, West Somerset
16/06/2019: Amazing place to eat really good value and great choices for vegetarians and vegans. Never written a review before but wanted to note what wonderful food served here
15/06/2019: While waiting for the castle to open, my husband and I thought we'd go and find somewhere to get a coffee...a great place with really friendly staff and good coffee! Also, a great selection of gin for sale. We went in for coffee and left with a few different miniature bottles of gin and some tonic. The guys were really friendly and have a great knowledge of gin.. would highly recommend this establishment! Oh, nearly forgot.. fantastic cakes to!

Falmouth Penwerris, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
06/06/2019: After a trip down the Fal from Truro we arrived at Olivers We had reserved a table but did not pre-book.There was a really friendly atmoshere already and we added our noisey chatter. The food was delicious and varied and we all ate with relish! The staff were kind to those who were not so mobile and we came away saying we must visit them again
01/06/2019: Its always a risk when someone else recommends you try a place for a special dinner in this case as part of my sister and I escaping for a couple of days to celebrate my BIG birthday! So when my sisters friend suggested we tried somewhere she hadnt been! But wanted to, the challenge was on ... No sample menu, so a quick phonecall and chat with Chef Ken was a great start .. he was prepping that days menu based on ingredient availability.. perfect ... table booked! Scroll forward 3 weeks and we are loitering at lunchtime - peering at that evenings menu ... this wasnt going to be easy ... scroll forward to 7pm .. and we are back in not the best street in Falmouth but definitely in the best restaurant! Greeted by the wonderful Wendy, and offered a choice of tables in the appropriately decorated 30 seater .. The service from both Wendy and her young colleague should Be videoed and used as a training aid for ALL restaurants

Ditto Restaurant

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough, >100£
16/06/2019: We found this unpretentious little restaurant after studying Trip Adviser and what a find. You have your table for the evening so not rushed & the dining times are staggered, you need to book well in advance. Good choice of food on the menu with friendly staff, good value for money.
13/06/2019: This was our third visit in 4 years. First time was a revelation. Our second was slightly disappointing, I think because we had such strong memories of our first meal. However, the menu and cooking are back on song. Ditto rightly deserves top rating. We had four different starters. The salmon, ravioli and black pudding croquettes were all first rate. The terrine fared less well in comparison. We had three different mains - duck, beef, and roast coley. All were beautifully cooked and presented. The white chocolate dessert was über. Throw in awesome bread and dips, a palate cleanser and hand made chocolates to finish- all complementary - as well as first class service and you’re onto a winner.

Mill Race Teashop

Addlebrough, Richmondshire
17/06/2019: During our trip we popped in to this delightful tea room. I ordered two coffees and two toasted Wensleydale and red onion chutney toasted sandwiches. We got served a cafetière enough for us to have top ups, plenty of milk, delicious toasties plus crisps and salad. Excellent quality and value. Very pleasant staff and good background music.
14/06/2019: Straightforward good food which comes in plentiful portions, and there is a very good selection available on the Menu. It is situated right alongside the spectacular Aysgarth Falls, in part of the historic Yore Mill and was a cosy place to enjoy lunch. I couldn't speak too highly of my visit -well done to all concerned. Can't wait to go back again.

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
12/06/2019: We visited The Grange on June 5 2019 on a recommendation from the St. Andrews staff. As soon as you pull in the driveway you will know this is going to be good. Super staff with great smiling faces great selection on food and drink at very reasonable prices The Michelin distinction was well deserved
12/06/2019: What an amazing restaurant nestled on a hillside minutes from St Andrews. Our dinner was the best so far on this trip and we have had some wonderful experiences.

The Green Yard Cafe

Bridport North, West Dorset
13/06/2019: Popped in for a coffee and a cake and wasn't disappointed. So many cakes to choose from with gluten free options available too. The coffee was fantastic and the cakes delicious, fresh and homemade. Service was excellent and felt comfortable as soon as we entered. Seating well designed and outside area an option. Definitely recommend.
13/06/2019: After hitting the charity shops we were looking for something to eat and found this place. A Monday lunchtime in Bridport and it was full. We sat in the sheltered courtyard which was a great little suntrap. I had a well cooked jacket potato, my friends had sandwiches and cake. All very tasty made with local ingredients and generous portions. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was spotless. We shall visit again next time we are in Bridport. Thank you 😊

The Lighthouse Tea Room

Filey, Scarborough
17/06/2019: Have visited here frequently since purchasing a caravan close by. Emma always has a lovely range of cakes on offer including gluten free cakes and scones which can be eaten in or take away. Very accommodating. Friendly and clean our favourite spot in Filey.
16/06/2019: My wife and I were touring the area and dropped into the Lighthouse. We had a delicious prosciutto, fig and brie sandwich followed by carrot cake. Service was excellent. All tea rooms should be like this.

Lansdown, Cheltenham, >100£
04/06/2019: My Wife and myself had a wonderful 9 course tasting menu on Saturday evening. The food was lovely, the atmosphere great and a wonderful service by very attentive and friendly staff.

The Victoria at Cattal

Ribston, Harrogate, 20-30£
16/06/2019: Fantastic service from friendly and efficient staff, had panko halloumi fries, fish pie followed by ice cream in a brandy snap basket, all of which were delicious and very well balanced. Lovely lunch.would reccomend.
13/06/2019: Se detuvo en el camino a casa desde el trabajo mientras la cocina se sentía como una tarea.

Michelle's Restaurant

Looe West and Lansallos, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
17/06/2019: Absolutely lovely, most enjoyable. Friendly staff, visited twice and would recommend. Dog friendly restaurant and very reasonable prices.
11/06/2019: We had our annual visit to Michelle's Restaurant and as I have said on my previous reviews the food just gets better, not the quality of the cooking or the ingredients as they are already top class but the ideas for the dishes.
