City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
19/08/2018: Fabolous surroundings, a high ceilinged library. With Colonnades obviously. Fantastic fixed meny, with an aboundance of tasty savoury and sweet tidbits. Even the ladies room was elegant. Do go there!
19/08/2018: We have spent years trying lots of different afternoon teas in Edinburgh (and beyond) and this is by far the best. The selection of food was wonderful (probably the best we have ever seen), paired with the amazing setting and great, friendly service you really can’t fault this place.

Burr's Restaurant

Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
09/08/2018: Introduced some of my friends to burrs and we had a great night. They had never been to burrs and they loved it we had the set menu which is such good value including wine we will be back soon as I'm addicted to the crab and spinach brûlée.
07/08/2018: Lovely small intimate restaurant, never fails to impress. Everyone is made very welcome. Menu is amazing, you will not be disappointed in what ever you chose, it is all wonderful. I have recommend to all my friends, but don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Suggest you book, as they get busy.

McHalls Bistro

Claremont, Blackpool, <20£
19/09/2018: We were in Blackpool for a meeting on the weekend of 8/9 September, but had arrived on Friday, 7th. We had a table for two at McHall's and were not disappointed. The Lamb Henry was exquisite, as were the home-made starters and ice cream.
10/09/2018: We were staying in McHalls hotel for 2 nights and booked a table for dinner on Saturday before the Funny Girls show. There were seven of us including a friend.

The Tudor Room

Thorpe, Runnymede, 60-100£
25/08/2018: Loved the food and attentive service. Great suggestions of wine by the sommelier. Knowledgeable staff. Hopefully you should be getting 2 Michelin . Well done.
24/08/2018: The Tudor Room deserves its’ star! This is a very talented chef! Super menu, food and matching wines. The staff are helpful, informative and not pretentious. Had a very enjoyable evening in a relaxed environment with superb food ( my husband and I enjoyed the bream, squab, lamb, pork and cheese). The sommelier deserves a special mention as his wine matching is innovative and very good. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend.

Ditto Restaurant

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough, >100£
19/08/2018: We’ve not been to Ditto’s for ages but it’s just as good as we remember, excellent food, friendly atmosphere and great staff. Nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel very welcome, we all enjoyed all our food. Absolutely no negatives.
12/08/2018: Ditto definitely deserves its place as number one on trip advisor. The food was amazing, friendly staff with a relaxed atmosphere. We appreciated there only being one sitting as we didn't feel rushed at all.

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
19/08/2018: We are so fortunate to have such an outstanding restaurant in St Andrews.
14/08/2018: We were on a small group tour (10 of us) through the Highlands and had dinner at the Grange one night while staying at St. Andrews. We at previously eaten as some very nice restaurants both near Inverness and St. Andrews, but this meal was clearly a step above all the others. The food was wonderful, the service was handled very nicely, and the view outside of the surrounding countryside superb. Highly recommended.

The Gateway Tearooms

Moorland, Teignbridge
22/09/2018: Whilst holidaying, I decided to plan a trip across Dartmoor and checked on the internet for places I could use as post-codes for the sat-nav. One of the first I found was this remarkable little tea-room in Morton Hampstead. Stepping through the door is like a short trip back in time to the 1920s when quiet conversation was more highly regarded. I could almost see Miss Marple stepping through the door to solve a murder over a cup of tea and a scone. The menu offers a reasonable range of items from tea and cake to full meals. The staff were polite and attentive, but also discrete, and the cream tea was perfect. I will definitely be returning here again (soon I hope). One small thing…be prepared to pay in cash as I don’t think other methods of payment are available. The prices are reasonable and the whole experience was relaxing reminder of more civilized times.
22/09/2018: Thank you for making my mum's birthday celebration so enjoyable. We all had a lovely time. The food was delicious and you were a superb host. We look forward to visiting again soon. Alexys

Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
19/08/2018: After having a long hard climb up the PYG track shrouded in fog and drizzle we decided to descend down the Llanberis Path and worry about how to get back to the car later....
19/08/2018: We called into Penceunant Isaf after a very wet clim down Snowdon , we were greated by Steffan, who was an absolute gem of a host, full of fun and a mine of information. The welsh cake he gave to us was delicious. We had only planned to stay for a quick warm up and a drink but were so comfortable we settled in for a couple of hours. Its a must do when visiting Snowdonia

Mill Race Teashop

Addlebrough, Richmondshire
26/08/2018: Visited here for a bite to eat and drink in the late afternoon following a great day out at the falls, great variety of choice on the menu from snacks like sausage rolls to sandwiches and wraps and afternoon teas, excellent choice of homemade cakes and scones all at very reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and quick service. Excellent friendly tea shop ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
26/08/2018: Nipped in very late on a wet, overcast afternoon (17:30+) but they happily served us even though the were tidying/cleaning up for the day. Nice place.

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
17/08/2018: Lovely menu and lots of flexibility about how to have it cooked or what accompaniments to have with it. We surfed and turfed, but the breaded monkfish cheeks and the scallops were great starters and desserts nice to. All lovely and if you book a room deal you don't have to go far. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We were in Rosemary at the front. Their website is a good representation of what to expect.
14/08/2018: Went for the second time for dinner and on both occasions we have had a superb meal, wonderful food at a reasonable price served by excellent staff in lovely surroundings. The foie gras starter is delicious as are the scallops and the chateaubriand is tender, flavoursome and huge!. A special place for special occasions.

The Green Yard Cafe

Bridport North, West Dorset
11/08/2018: this smashing little place is tucked away on the road out of town, and has a lovely sheltered courtyard out back. we needed a good breakfast as we were going walking and chose the bacon and egg sandwich.....I thought I had died and gone to heaven! lovely bread, excellent bacon - truly yummy! prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
11/08/2018: This is a real gem - very friendly service and they were very dog friendly The bacon and egg sandwiches were excellent as were the pancakes. A really great find - service was unfailingly helpful and polite - thoroughly recommended.

Pamela's Restaurant

Nelson, Great Yarmouth, 30-45£
18/08/2018: Let’s face it, Great Yarmouth it’s not the first place you would think of in East Anglia for fine dining. Which is why it was such a revelation to find Pamela’s.
18/08/2018: We went to Pamela's for our anniversary. We were meant to go in March for my wife's birthday but the beast from the east prevented that. The food was superb. Battered skate cheek and beef carpaccio for our starters. Melt in the mouth lamb for my main and the best creme brulee ever for desert. Service was amazing, particularly from the head waiter who we remembered from our last visit. They even gave us an extra dessert and a personal rendition of the look of love from the saxophonist. Perfect :-)

Falmouth Penwerris, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
13/08/2018: Tried to get in on a Saturday night, obviously a months notice insufficient! Took a lunch time slot with a deep frown!!

The Fig Tree

Hurstpierpoint and Downs, Mid Sussex
18/08/2018: What a wonderful restaurant. The food is amazing from the chefs treat through to dessert, and the petit fours- second to none. Fantastic flavours. Great menu choice from fish to meat. All the staff very friendly too which added to our lovely evening. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back!
16/08/2018: What a find this unassuming restaurant was! Tucked away in the nee of the South Downs in the village of Hurstpierpoint in Sussex!! Absolutely fabulous!
