11/09/2020: Visited here on 1st day it opened back up again after lockdown for a birthday afternoon tea. I have to say was most impressed by the staff and organisation of everything. The Lodge

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland
09/11/2020: We dined here for dinner and enjoyed the tasting menu. Every course (there were 7 of them!) was delicious. The attention to detail with regards to locally sourced produce as well as the presentation, was second to none. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. This really was the highlight of our trip to Skye and we will definitely be back. Please visit here, you won't be disappointed.
29/10/2020: We went for lunch and both had the 4 course tasting menu. I’m pescatarian and they had a specific menu for me.Every course was outstanding - including the extras like amuse bouche, bread and petit fours. Sadly they couldn’t serve alcohol due to covid restrictions but we did have a lovely bottle of elderflower fizz. The staff were warm and friendly and the restaurant was cozy.Highly recommend!

Menu Gordon Jones

Lyncombe, Bath and North East Somerset, 45-60£
13/11/2020: We treated ourselves to a tasting menu at Menu Gordon Jones and we were not disappointed the staff, the food the way that each course was presented was totally out of this world can not recommend this restaurant enough.
05/11/2020: Visited last night and had a truly delicious meal! The food was amazing! Every course was beautifully presented and just tasted so good! We had a glass of sparkly to start, shared a lovely bottle of wine and ended with an Amaretto! But that was nothing compared to the food, from the bread to the banana soufflé we were treated to the best food we’ve ever eaten. Big thank you x

The Queen Victoria Pub

Maldon North, Maldon, <20£
05/11/2020: We had lunch here on the final day before Lockdown 2.0. Every aspect was just as it should be from a good pub. While it, quite deservedly, has a loyal local clientele, the welcome was just as warm and friendly to 'out-of-towners' such as ourselves. The Covid-19 security measures were exemplary. A good range of well-kept, proper beers and lovely food. The highlight for me was the homemade steak & kidney pudding - so rare to find a truly homemade version and this one was packed with tender meat, surrounded by perfect suet pastry.
30/10/2020: This is our 2nd visit to this lovely well run pub in weeks. The staff are accommodating and friendly, and the food is delicious!

No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
01/11/2020: Delicious meal at No3 last night. Place was full (covid permitting and all safety measures in place), great atmosphere and service. Had to eat a bit quicker than normal as they had to close at 10pm but the quality of the food didn’t suffer. All three courses and the pre dinner breads were superb, and excellent value for money too. We were visiting the area and booked after seeing other reviews - just wished we lived closer so we could go again!
30/10/2020: Really cute little restaurant, loved the decor. The staff were all very friendly, service was really fast. The food was all absolutely delicious, we had 3 courses and couldn’t fault anything. Excellent cocktail menu too!

The Lowestoft Tandoori

Harbour, Waveney
23/11/2020: Chicken patia, pilau rice, garlic naan. Delicious tender chicken breast full flavoured sauce just right. Order taken by nice professional guy, delivered by a lovely friendly lady. I don't think I would dare go elsewhere as it is hard to find a reliable decent Indian.
22/11/2020: Brilliant take away, as always. Complimentary dishes always just tops it all off. Food is always hot and tastes delicious. Thank you Lowestoft Tandoori.

Lifeboat Fishbar

Castle, Scarborough
02/11/2020: Service spot on. Had takeaway. Recommended to all. Good fish n chips along the front you cant beat it. Large portions.
01/11/2020: We drove up from the midlands for day out half term week. We called to book a table. Scarborough was busy enough but this place is just tucked away around a corner. We rang and booked an hour before we arrived. We rocked up and a lovely young lady had our table ready, order taken within minutes. Slim tall blonde she’s a proper credit to this restaurant. Super helpful. Food quality was good. Not cramped and Covid precautions good. Definitely visit again. Thank you.

Orles Barn Hotel Restaurant

Ross-on-Wye West, Herefordshire, County of, >100£
25/10/2020: An excellent meal - perfectly cooked, relaxed surroundings, lovely service. We rarely have 3 courses but the menu was so good that we did. Thoroughly recommend.
23/10/2020: A superb lunch at Orles Barn today. My husband and I chose differently for each of the 3 courses and everything was excellent. Friendly, professional service in relaxed restaurant. They deserve to be very successful with this sort of standard. We enjoyed it so much we made 2 more lunch bookings. Hilary, Ross-on-Wye

The Old Stamp House Restaurant

Ambleside and Grasmere, South Lakeland, 45-60£
23/10/2020: We enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Old Stamp House last night as a belated anniversary meal.We weren’t disappointed. The tone was set with a confirmation call the day before. Courteous and helpful. The chap enquired about any allergies. My wife suffers from Crohns and struggles with mushrooms and chillies. They went out of their way to ensure my wife’s meal was free from anything that might cause a problem whilst still maintaining the same excellent standard and meal experience. The atmosphere was cosy and warm, we felt well spaced out and perfectly safe. The staff are amazing, knowledgeable and have perfected their craft to provide an amazing meal experience for every guest. We will definitely be back and will most definitely recommend to all we know!
22/10/2020: We love this restaurant. Caring and courteous. Not just Craig and Ryan but all the staff want you to enjoy every moment of every course of your meal. Their knowledge and love of food and where and how it is sourced and its cooking. And you will enjoy every mouthfull. Thank you again.

The Bank Bar & Grill

Talbot, Blackpool
04/11/2020: We booked in this restaurant after reading the reviews as they were so good. It didn’t disappoint the service was great very polite and the food was excellent will definitely be back
03/11/2020: Visited here tonight before the next lockdown and so glad we managed to get in. After reading all the great reviews we soon realised they are very justified. From walking in the greeting was very warm and the Covid safety measures possibly the best I’ve seen in a restaurant so far. All the staff were very friendly and pleasant and the owner coming over to chat was a great personal touch. We had the pâté and bread board to start which was very tasty and my partner had bbq ribs whilst I had the Italian chicken burger with a side of halloumi fries (halloumi was a taste sensation). The portions were very generous but somehow we managed to make room for desert which again did not disappoint. Can’t wait to return when we are back to some sort of normality.

The Station Kitchen

Bridport South and Bothenhampton, West Dorset, <20£
25/10/2020: We dined here with our 11 year old son on a very wet and windy Saturday. It’s such a cosy and pretty place to eat, and the staff were great, despite having to battle the elements constantly. The food was the real star of the show however. Our 3 starters were Gravadlax, Crab with Beetroot, and Halloumi. We did the usual sampling of each other’s food to see who was ‘the winner’, couldn’t pick one, all three starters were very different but very lovelyThe three mains were Surf n Turf (Bavette with scallops), Sea Bass, and the Open Venison Burger with Duck Egg - yummy yummy yummy. These dishes sound simple but they were far from that, there was huge amounts of detail, layers of flavour, But above all, just really really well cooked. Initially we had tried to steer our son towards the kids menu, but we are so glad we treated him. He absolutely loved the whole meal ( although even he couldn’t manage a pudding after that feast) We loved it so much we booked afternoon tea later in the week. Can’t wait to return. What a restaurant, they should be very very proud.
24/10/2020: We had a lovely meal here for a 30th birthday. Food was incredible and so different! Staff were incredibly friendly, food came quickly and just a lovely atmosphere all round! The staff even put together and signed a birthday card for the birthday boy - a lovely touch to end a perfect dining experience, thank you!

Black Swan Leyburn

Leyburn, Richmondshire
05/11/2020: We enjoyed a lovely meal in The Black Swan on our last night in Leyburn. We had the pleasure of meeting the Head Chef and Bar Manager in the nearby Golden Lion a little earlier in the evening and for a guy that spent a few years peeling spuds for her majesty, the chef can certainly cook a steak!!! :)Only kiddingThanks for an enjoyable evening, even if your till was broken with those added extras that we didn't have lol
01/11/2020: What a superb final evening of our weekend away in leyburn. Great atmosphere, excellent waiter service ( humour and manners) and absolutely fantastic food. Visited with our daughters who dressed up for Halloween, staff played along and made their night. Highly recommended!!

Tim's Bistro

Bevois, Southampton
24/10/2020: We had heard good things about Tim’s and we were certainly not disappointed. The service was exemplary and the food excellent. The three of us had steak two rib eye and one surf and turf. The quality of the meat was superb and it was cooked to perfection. We will be returning to eat the fish as it looked lovely when brought out for a nearby table. Also every Covid restriction adhered to. Feel we have discovered our new go to restaurant!
21/10/2020: This review is a little delayed, but better late than never. My husband and I would like to thank Tim, Chloe, Anna and Char for helping us in making our BIG DAY of becoming Mr & Mrs absolutely PERFECT!! The food was absolutely stunning, the attentiveness from Tim and girls was beyond amazing. We felt so relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for them at all. Thank you all again. ♥️We will be coming back soon!! M&J

The Green Man

Whittlesford, South Cambridgeshire, 20-30£
25/10/2020: We’ve eaten at the Green Man many times in the past and wanted to support them in these tricky times so took a group of friends for lunch on Saturday. It was excellent in every way! Brilliant menu / ordering system - simple and effective. Drinks and hot, delicious, freshly cooked food delivered to a nearby “drop table” for us to collect (avoiding breaking social distancing rules). I can not fault them! All with a cheery smile. Thank goodness for the Green Man!
23/09/2020: Considering the times we are in with Covid being such a player on the scene at the moment, this pub has catered very well for this by having seating outside and none inside. Admittedly this will inherently come with a downside in the winter, but one problem at a time, for the time being it suits just fine. There is a limited menu with limited drinks. If you are after trying more than one real ale then you are going to be challenged as this place is trying to get by and survive therefore it doesn't have the array you would have seen post Covid. All this being said however doesn't detract from the fact that this is a lovely pub which a proper local feel to it. The staff range from Scotland to AUS and are very engaging with no hesitation to converse. The food from the limited menu is very good and the mains are either tapas styled or you can choose from a chicken cheeseburger or fish fingers burger, each lovely in their own right.
