The Scenic Inn

Stranocum, Ballymoney
18/08/2018: I enjoyed the best meal of the summer on Thursday last. The family ate 3 adult and 2 children’s meals, with drinks, and desserts for the kids. £64... amazing value. My steak was flavoursome, tender, huge and cooked to perfection, hidden beneath a mountain of crispy onions and accompanied by proper chips, salad and pepper sauce. I will be reliving this meal during the coming months as I embark on a serious diet. Thursday and Friday are ‘steak night’ in the Scenic, by the way. Service with a smile and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Recommended without any reservations. It might be worth making a reservation though as we had tried to eat there earlier in the summer and couldn’t get a table. Ate elsewhere locally on that occasion, and although the food there was fine, the Scenic is head and shoulders above it.
13/08/2018: First visit on Monday afternoon to The Scenic Inn and it was exceptional. The lady was very welcoming and friendly. Excellent menu was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back....service, menu and food were all worthy of five stars!

Harbour bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
19/08/2018: Went for sunday lunch, unable to book a table but we were there for 2pm and harbour bistro opening..staff are so so friendly and they have a great menu! Lovely deserts also 😀
19/08/2018: This is a great homey local pub with great employees and patrons alike. A great plus is that it’s attached to a great restaurant !!

Howard Street

Shaftesbury, Belfast
29/08/2018: We visited Belfast last weekend and happened upon this restaurant, luckily they fitted us in. The Service and food were exceptional. We both had starters, mine was the Goats cheese and beetroot which was amazing. My husband had the fish risotto which he absolutely raved about. For our main courses; I had pork belly which was a great size and full of tasty flavours, my husband had the chicken supreme which was beautiful. We followed with puddings of Eton Mess and Crème Brulee which were both perfect. The service was excellent. We actually booked a late table for 2 days later which was perfect just the same.
27/08/2018: Had a beautiful meal in Howard Street celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend it.

Glenaan, Moyle
18/08/2018: We visited on Friday 17th August for a meal at tea time. I ordered the fish trio off the special at £15.00 when the dish arrived the assortment of veg was extremely poor as there was one small piece of carrot one piece of broccoli and parsnip The meal itself was tasty. We have been visiting Harry’s for a number of years now and it was always a treat to go there. There was a takeover about a year or so and I have to say that lately we have noticed the portions are getting smaller ( I used to struggle to finish the meal as there was soo much) but now there is a huge difference in size!!! Also there is a marked difference in price as the average price was around £11.00 for a main where as now the average is around £15.00 at that time you would have got a main and desert for £15-16!!!
15/08/2018: Hemos cenado aquí dos de nuestras cuatro noches en Cushendall. Raciones muy grandes. Mucha variedad de platos y cocina de calidad.

The French Rooms

Bushmills, Moyle, 20-30£
04/09/2018: The front of this restaurant is a spice, tea, and gift shop. We walked past it twice before realizing they also served meals, but only Thursday thru Sunday. Reservations are a must. The meals are somewhat unique, and no single cuisine type would identify it. Very good, a bit pricey, but a definite location for a romantic, quiet, or special occasion.
28/08/2018: We visited on 4th Aug 2018 and were surprised to find this relatively up-market restaurant in Bushmills. The setting inside is of a good quality, as is the food as is the service. Enjoyed our time in there and if in Bushmills we will definitely return.

Robert Stewarts

Drumbo, Lisburn, 20-30£
21/08/2018: went last night on recommendation of a friend. Very busy and nice atmosphere when we arrived so went to bar to have a drink whilst we waited for 4th person to join us. There is a lovely buzz about this characterful Inn. We were shown to our table in a room nextto the bar, quieter and brighter. Staff very friendly. Between us we had 1 steak, 1 chicken fahitas, 1 chicken burger and 1 special, cod and baby boiled spuds. All delicious. clean plates all round. 2 raspberry ruffle cheesecakes and 1 lemon meringue, again all scoffed and general conclusion was great grub. The (I think owner) appeared at our table several times to discharge a few wee jokes in our direction.
05/08/2018: I was here last Friday with my partner as a last minute date night. We only found this place on trip-advisor and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I found this place!! Was that good I returned the next night with my mother. With my partner being vegetarian the options he had were better than most places. He gave the veggie fajitas a try and I don’t think there was anything left on his plate. The first night I got the wings for start and the sirloin for main and it was perfect. Second night I ordered fish and chips. The fish was so big I thought free willy was on my plate, but it didn’t stop me scoffing the lot! The owner or head of house is hilarious, he gave us full attention on both nights never having an empty drink in front of me with a side of humour. He is amazing at his job and I can see why this place is doing so well. Can’t wait for the next date night so I can come back.

Molly's Yard

Botanic, Belfast
07/08/2018: Visited Molly’s Yard on a Monday evening whilst staying locally. Came across the restaurant online, and thought we would try it out.
06/08/2018: On a two days trip to Belfast we were lucky to have one of the two dinners there. The grilled smoked haddock which I took for starter was good. My wife's grey mullet was also good. But what was amazing was my shoulder of goat main. It was cooked just right bursting with taste. The accompanying potatoes and ratatouille were also great. Service was prompt and very friendly.

The Red Door Tea Room

Kinbane, Moyle
19/08/2018: Came in with another couple for some food after a walk along the shore. Staff were lovely and accomodating even though it was very busy.
18/08/2018: We'd recommend this for its good tea and food, served in a charming room. Also suitable as a place to avoid the crowds in high season down at the harbour.

Ardtara Country House Hotel Restaurant

Upperlands, Magherafelt
05/08/2018: Booked in for my mum's 60th birthday, large group of all ages, and the place was fantastic. Great attention to detail, attentive staff, lovely touch's throughout the meal. We felt like we'd been going there for years even though we've never been through the door. First class.
29/07/2018: Not having stayed at the lovely Ardtara House for a few years, we reserved 2 places for Chef Patron Ian Orr's Italian cookery demo and dinner, staying overnight B'n'B. Nicola was very helpful in the booking process and Valerie gave us a warm welcome and introduction to our fine room on arrival. Ian's cookery demo, to a packed restaurant, was fascinating and the accompanying meal first class. Manager Sean kept a friendly watchful eye throughout a most enjoyable stay in this grand house offering the best of friendly hospitality. Well recommended !

Katch 27

Kircubbin, Ards
07/08/2018: Always Great Food Great welcoming and friendly staff Amazing Sea food choices always my favourites Will definitely be returning again
04/08/2018: It’s so tough when you have to make a choice from a menu that has loads of things that you want to try. This place deserves all the fab reviews it gets, the food is soooo good. The service is friendly but a little rushed, it was really busy but you didn’t wait long. That said everything was delightful to look at as well as to eat, just look at my photos, it really did look that beautiful. My standout dish was the cod with chive butter sauce and hens egg, it was so fresh and flavourful. I’m defo coming back!

Shimna, Down
02/09/2018: I was taken to Vanilla Restaurant by my two friends. Great to walk round Newcastle.
28/08/2018: Forget the tapas signage, excellent short menu, well crafted food Great service Vegan and vegetarian options Try it

Ardglass, Down
19/08/2018: Great venue for family, friends or business. Could not have been more friendly. Food menu very varied.
18/08/2018: Great early bird menu - good choice of starters, mains and deserts for a reasonable price. Totally recommend the Strangford Loch mussels which were delicious and the yummy hake for main. Very generous portions. Friendly staff.

The Boatyard Coffee Shop Coleraine

Dundooan, Coleraine
20/08/2018: Just a couple Floridians on vacationand we loved The Boat Yard. We were met with a smile and great service. The Beef Wrap was very filling and delicious and the Raspberry, Lemon Tart was out of this world. We highly recommend The Boat Yard.
16/08/2018: Called yesterday on our way through to Castlerock. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food selection is more than enough. The quality of the food was second to none. We will certainly be calling again. A place well worth a visit.

Hedley's Restaurant

Hilden, Lisburn
14/08/2018: Hedleys is conveniently located in the centre of pedestrian precinct in Lisburn and serves tasty, good quality meals, snacks and tray bakes. The staff are very friendly and food is good value. My favourites are the small breakfast, the freshly made lunch rolls and the milky coffee.
18/07/2018: Recently, my wife and I have had breakfast at Hedley's on a few occasions. In addition, I have had tea and scones - on my own.

Bilbo's Bistro

Castlewellan, Down
30/07/2018: We stopped off in the town on our way to our BnB in Newcastle for a snack and found this amazing place on the Main Street. Busy inside with a mixture of locals and travellers, we were entertained by the staff and some of the locals whilst we ate prepared snacks of huge size and lovely taste. This was a treat. To cap it all we were presented with a freshly baked wheaten loaf to take away (at no cost! How’s that for kindness?
10/07/2018: Breakfast for two with coffee top up and all served with a smile and a bit of chat for £10 very reasonable
