Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
21/07/2019: A family of 2 exhausted adults, a 12-year old and a dog stumbled on this hidden gem when walking down from Snowdon and we felt we had won the lottery. The dog was offered water and dog biscuits and the humans were given basins of warm water in which to relieve achey feet. Steffan was really friendly and chatty and ordered a taxi for us, which took us back to our campsite.
19/07/2019: Came off the Llanberis path a little wet and tired, just dropped in as we walked past. What a find! The hosts are so friendly, have a great sense of humour, making you feel at home and relaxed very quickly. The Bara Brith and Welsh cakes are to die for !

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
21/07/2019: Very busy and our table was rather squashed, but good service with pleasant staff. Food was nice but they forgot my chips and I was halfway through my meal when they arrived. Otherwise a good experience
17/07/2019: Visited here after reading all the good reviews on trip advisor. It did not disappoint, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Loved the complimentary nachos, very tasty. Food was good, had the fish market and duo of beef.

Blas at Fronlas

Newport, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
14/07/2019: We had a few breakfasts at Blas last week and the quality was always high. The coffee is excellent - the orange juice is far better than many others, and the scrambled eggs are perfectly cooked and served with quality bacon, lashings of mushrooms or smoked salmon.
29/06/2019: Called in with friend for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great service and good quality food served promptly and efficiently and for a reasonable price. Thoroughly recommend.

Y Polyn

Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire, 30-45£
16/07/2019: An excellent welcome, kind service, wonderful ambiance, lovely food. Ideal surroundings, recommend to anyone who likes fine cuisine.
15/07/2019: Have visited this wonderful restaurant on many occasions and we are never disappointed. Went there last Saturday and had a delicious dinner of pigeon breast followed by the scrumptious duck. Lynne and I were looked after so well by the two Steves and all the gang. Well done Mark your standards are excellent and your staff so friendly. See you in September.

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
22/07/2019: we were late for our table (due to a broken down steam train !) but still received a very warm welcome. Our food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and served with a smile.

The Brewery Inn Cosheston

Lamphey, Pembrokeshire
20/07/2019: We dropped into the brewery inn for a quick bite to eat before getting the ferry and it was fantastic! The staff were all really friendly, the food was great as it is fresh and cooked to order. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Brewery inn and I’d go back in an instant.
20/07/2019: Had dinner here with my extended family and dog (15 all told), while on holiday. We had to book ahead and pre-order given the numbers, but that made everything much more efficient on the night. The food was good, the wine reasonable and the owners and staff very friendly. Very happy to recommend.

Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd, 30-45£
21/07/2019: Spending a few days in Wales we came across this restaurant by accident and how pleased we were. The staff were welcoming and attentive and more than happy to adjust the menu choices to meet my gluten free needs. Infact we were so pleased by the quality of the food and its presentation we booked again for the following night!
18/07/2019: A simple restaurant serving good food at usual prices. Very pleasant service and a nice gentle atmosphere.

The Looking Glass Ice Cream Parlour

Gogarth, Conwy
08/07/2019: Me and my family always come to the best ice cream place in Llandudno when we visit. And we always make multiple trips. Amazing ice cream.
02/07/2019: Went here with family (adults and children) and it is definitely a place to visit! When we went it was quite busy so we was in the que for at least 10 minutes! But this gave us plenty of time to look at the board and all the items you could get. I had the crepe with 2scoops of ice cream, brownies and marshmallows with toffee sauce & a latte (& a cappuccino for my gran costing £11.20 ...... it was worth the wait!!!! It definitely welcomes families. They have board games available too to pass time and keep little ones entertained. Loved all the Alice in wonder land deco and wall quotes ! Didn’t use the loos so can’t comment there. Staff were friendly and patient, especially when children indecisive at which ice cream to choose! Really lovely place to visit.

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
22/07/2019: We visited whilst on a short break in Tenby. I booked based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is quite small as it is built into the arches in the town wall. The staff were very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The food was excellent. It quite expensive but worth it for the atmosphere.
19/07/2019: We chose well based on trip advisor reviews - highly recommended a cosy restaurant with the town wall

The Nags Head

We've been here for lunch with friends, for a quiet pint with the dogs after a walk, for a romantic anniversary meal and in a large group. We haven't once been disappointed We were there again last night and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, my lamb rump melted in my mouth.

Garbo's Cafe Bar

10/07/2019: Popped in as breakfast at Premier Inn not good. Had a great breakfast. Farm house breakfast and veggy. Everything perfect, tasty and well cooked. Fresh and hot. Can not find fault. Vert good coffee too. Highly recommend

The Three Horseshoes Inn

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys, <20£
22/07/2019: We visited last year for a lovely hearty lunch and enjoyed a hot drink to finish in the unique outside seating in the garden. The food was wonderful. We recently visited again (since we happened to be in Brecon) for Sunday Lunch. We were surprised that the menu was now quite limited and even though the food was delicious, there just wasn’t enough. We do not eat big portions but there just wasn’t much veg or many potatoes provided - No sides of veg for us to pick into. The desserts were perfect but we were still hungry! Polite and pleasant Scottish (?) waiter. Thankyou.
17/07/2019: After seeing a recently published review and the excellent response, it was a no-brainer when we found ourselves within walking distance of 3 Horseshoes to book a meal. We were not disappointed, superb food and great service. By the time they delivered the warm bread with mushroom butter, we were sold. Starters of Ham Hock Terrine and Scallop Ceviche followed by Loin of Lamb and Cod loin and desserts that were delightful. Can’t wait for a revisit.

The Stonemill

Dixton with Osbaston, Monmouthshire, 30-45£
21/07/2019: Had a big family meal here. The food was memorable- interesting little amuse bouche to start - including an amazing onion and vanilla soup! It really works! All the flavour combinations worked and the quality of the ingredients was obvious. We loved that they use mostly local food in their dishes. The staff were excellent and very patient with our large group. Highly recommend this place.
17/07/2019: We went here for dinner last week. the last night of a weeks holiday in Monmouth.

The Old White Horse Inn
