The Brit Pub

Bryn and Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot, 20-30£
18/06/2018: Called into the Brit due to the fact that they offer a good range of vegan dishes on their menu. The food was lovely and the staff were very nice 👍 I will definitely call in again for some food and would highly recommend
15/06/2018: I'd been recommended to go to The Brit by a work colleague and decided to go early on a Thursday evening. We were made very welcome and sat in the restaurant although you can eat in the bar area or the lovely garden at the back. The food was amazing - I had the herb crusted salmon and my son had the chorizo stuffed chicken - both were well cooked and very tasty. I would recommend anyone to try this pub and we will certainly return.

Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
19/06/2018: What a welcome respite after a long and wet journey down from Snowdon on Sunday. A great welcome from Steffan and his great team followed up by steaming hot drinks and delicious tea cakes liberally supplied with butter, jam and buttermilk: what a welcome from clotted cream and much tastier in our view.
18/06/2018: If I had my way I would make a visit to this place compulsory for anyone considering running a business in the service industry; a really warm welcome that made us feel they had been awaiting our arrival. My wife who declined anything alcoholic was presented with home made lemonade - on the house - and despite the place being busy the landlord took time to come and chat to us and suggest other places we might enjoy in the area. If only they were local!

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
21/06/2018: Perfect service and atmosphere. A cute little restaurant on two floors with an abundance of character. The most notable wow factor has to be the food, with so many flavours its always a truly memorable experience dining here
14/06/2018: Had a great experience here. Superb food, excellent service. Couldnt fault it. Will definitely return.

Blas at Fronlas

Newport, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
17/06/2018: We only had coffee and cake but the lunches looked great too. The staff are really friendly and polite.
10/06/2018: Fantastic evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Loved the tapas, the music and the birthday cake. Thanks for helping us organise the celebration.

The Brewery Inn Cosheston

Lamphey, Pembrokeshire
19/06/2018: We dropped in to this pub/restaurant on a Sunday Lunchtime without a reservation, intending to just stop for a drink if they were busy. Although the restaurant was full, we were offered a table either in the lounge or the garden, but told that there would be a short wait for food. (20 minutes). We got a drink and settled down, then were told that a table had been vacated in the restaurant if we wanted it. The actaul restaurant area is small, but well laid out. The menu is specific to the service on the day, using local produce where possible. We had roast lamb, and roast beef (plus starters and desert) which was excellent. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, we didn't feel either rushed or ignored. And to top it off, they served a very good Welsh cider on tap (being from Somerset we know a bit about cider, and many Welsh ones aren't that great, but this one was). We had a brief chat with one of the owners on the way out, and he was also friendly/helpful. Basically, we will be back soon, but with a reservation (we were just lucky on the day as a couple who came in just after us couldn't be accomodated).
18/06/2018: We visited whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire last week and after trying last year but not being organised enough to book we went for lunch. We were seated and order taken promptly. The food was brilliant, service was excellent and the staff were very chatty and friendly especially the man behind the bar. We had our 8 week old daughter with us and the staff engaged with us and made us feel very welcome. We have experienced places previously who frown upon newborns as they can be unsettled but not here. We will be returning frequently when we holiday in west wales again. Thank you

Gwesty Cymru

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
15/06/2018: I was in Aberystwyth on a beautiful, sunny day and needed lunch. I was initially tempted by a quick sandwich or a take-away from a fish and chip shop, but in the end I decided to seek somewhere with more style. I happened to pass Gwesty Cymru (which I had heard of previously) and decided to give its restaurant a try.
14/06/2018: Regularly eat in this, our favourite eatery in the whole of Ceredigion. Excellent food both at lunchtime and in the evening. Also a great place to sit outside and people watch on the promenade. Can’t fault the food, staff or service. We would recommend Gwesty Cymru anyone and can’t speak highly enough of it. 11/10.

The Crown

Aberffraw,Rhosneigr, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
17/06/2018: Ten of us pitched up unannounced at 7.30pm as part of a nostalgia-fuelled extended-family excursion; unsurprisingly there wasn't space for us right away, but we only had to wait until 8pm, and we were able to have a drink in the bar beforehand. It was...
13/06/2018: Our first visit and not disappointed, a very friendly and welcoming pub restaurant. Excellent choice of menu and delicious food, very gernerous portions and reasonable prices, reccommended the steak pie and it was very good. Friendly locals Meade our visit very enjoyable.

The Crown

Mardy, Monmouthshire
03/06/2018: We had a lovely family meal on Friday. We were welcomed warmly, and I enjoyed a well presented local ale. The place and staff seem a little 'olde-worldy' (not that there's anything wrong with that!), but the food certainly wasn't. The menu was diverse and...
29/05/2018: I booked The Crown as it mentioned vegan options available, despite the fact there weren't any listed on the menu. I was told to ring on the day to see what the chef had made and to my surprise was offered a fantastic selection. It...

Restaurant at the Hotel Portmeirion

Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, >100£
21/06/2018: Wonderful views of the estuary, (both night and day) reserve a window seat, when you book. The food is really good standard and good choices, (THe deserts are to die for).Staff friendly and really pleasent many are local with their lovely Welsh accents. Its a real treat to eat there,we always stay in the little studios in the village .
19/06/2018: Good food and a truly romantic atmosphere added to the breathtaking views. There is magic in the air and in the wonderful food.

The Three Horseshoes Inn

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys, <20£
19/06/2018: Travelling down the local canal, found this welcoming pub purely by chance, a warm welcome by cheery, friendly staff, good beers and quality food, not your average pub fare but well cooked, well presented food, I can recommend the duck, nicely pink and tender as...

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
25/05/2018: What a truly exquisite experience. Cosy intimate restaurant and the service was just wonderful, lovely genuine greeting, felt so very very welcome. The food was just amazing. Never been to a Michelin starred place before, but have enjoyed a lot of fine dining over the...
18/05/2018: Despite booking months in advance, and it clearly stating on Trip Advisor that it is vegetarian friendly, I had to find a replacement guest for me at the last minute as they refused to make any dish that was vegetarian. Their website doesn’t include a...

Castle Green

Lampeter, Ceredigion
18/06/2018: Had a lovely evening meal here. So much selection on the menu, husband took forever to decide what to eat! As for me the vegetarian.. I not only had a few options to choose from, but it was made freshly there and then!! I asked...
27/05/2018: We had a bit of a tour of Lampeter to find this gem, but it was worth the effort. Lots of pubs now seem to only offer Sunday lunch but when we explained that we preferred a lighter meal as hubby had only been out...

The Clink Restaurant

Adamsdown, Cardiff, 20-30£
20/06/2018: One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a restaurant. Amazing Yorkshire puddings, excellent meat and imaginatively prepared starters, veg and deserts. Friendly and efficient service and good value. The atmosphere is perhaps more like a cafe than a restaurant but nonetheless a...
20/06/2018: Lovely food clean and pleasant staff we were a group of 12 women aged 60 to 86 years old who really enjoyed our meal

Happy Valley Pavilion

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
19/06/2018: Tea and home made cake, fresh and very reasonably priced. Colourfull garden furniture with cushions and blankets. Sit and watch the bowling away from the bustle of busy Beaumaris. Well done!
19/06/2018: Fabulous drinks and cakes. The service by the staff was excellent - the best! Nothing was too much trouble for them and it was a joy to see them so happy and smiling all the time! Thank you! We returned for a second time the following week and received the same excellent service.

The Shed Bistro

Llanrhian, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
18/06/2018: We have been to this bistro many times since it opened over 15 years ago. The food has always been of a high standard. Do not be mislead by its name, fish and chips is not the only option. Try the specials such as hake, halibut etc.
18/06/2018: I visited The Shed again, with family, for an evening meal. It was positively heaving, but we quickly were seated at our table. Thank goodness we booked!
