Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
08/11/2019: We didn’t walk up Snowdon just wanted somewhere cosy for a coffee and a cake and chance to take in our dog. We had just been on the Llanberis railway and stopped off at the slate museum before walking up to the cafe. It was a nice 25 minute walk managed by our 3 year old with ease.
02/11/2019: Very nice. Attentive and friendly staff. Basic but very nice drinks and a bite to eat to either start your hike up Snowdon or to celebrate the end of it! Had delicious hot chocolate to warm up from the cold but suspect a summer time pint would be just as nice.

Y Polyn

Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire, 30-45£
05/11/2019: We had an amazing meal here. The food is outstanding, my wife and I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The staff are very attentive, the place itself has a very relaxed feel, which we love. We will definitely return, it is one of our favourite places to eat.
27/10/2019: I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything I’ve ever eaten here. My mouth is watering just thinking of the lemon parfait with meringue shards. The flavours are interesting, and food is fresh and locally sourced. The staff cater amazingly for my difficult diet (coeliac and vegetarian) without ever making me feel it’s any trouble. There is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and service is the right level of attentive. We always enjoy a trip here.

Blas at Fronlas

Newport, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
31/10/2019: Called in weekday at about 10am, family of four with two young teenage boys, half term week. Plenty of church pew and chaired seating. Fantastic breakfast, we had a full Welsh cooked breakfast, scrambled egg and two bacon baguettes, good sized hot portions with coffee, tea and fruit juices. Friendly service and lovely warm fire. Good value at £22.
14/10/2019: Called in for a pot of tea, stayed for a panini. Perfection. Great service, amazing food quality and I left with a warm, fuzzy feeling. The cafe has a real community buzz to it and the staff seem to really care for their customers. Thank you, Blas!

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
08/11/2019: We knew as soon as we entered the restaurant that this going to be a good experience. The young guy who met us was friendly and took us to our table whilst we waited for our friends. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. We chose to eat from the set menu which was very reasonably priced - 3 courses for just over £20. The food was superb - interesting choice of flavours, all well prepared and cooked, and simply delicious. All of our plates were cleared! I agree with other reviewers that the Pavlova was a highlight, and great value as part of the set menu. We all thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will visit again, even though it is 50 miles from home.
07/11/2019: This is a really special place. The food was amazing and the service and atmosphere was great too. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was still busy and the staff were very well trained and friendly.

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
03/11/2019: Very enjoyable Saturday lunch. For our daughter, who is coeliac, they said the chef could adapt anything on the menu to gluten free, so she had a much better choice than in many places. Great presentation of the dishes on the plates. Reasonable prices.
02/11/2019: What can l say my family and I Walked in last Sunday to ask if a table was free for Sunday Lunch. They very kindly found us a table and wow I'm so glad they did. The Sunday roast was fantastic . My two boys so enjoyed the food. Very friendly staff . 10/10 . We will be booking a few meals next year when on holiday. Thankyou to you all for a fantastic meal at the end of our holiday. See you in 2020 .

The Brewery Inn Cosheston

Lamphey, Pembrokeshire
11/11/2019: We had an enjoyable evening here with friends. The waitresss were very friendly and efficient. The pub itself has a lovely feel to it and was buzzing on Saturday night. So far all good but the food was not as good as we expected from others who've eaten here. The several of us who ordered the panfried salmon were disappointed with this meal. Others who had not ordered this dish were delighted with their food. The salmon was meant to be panfried but was clearly oven roast. It fell apart into strangely glutinous strands of fish and the broth veg were overdone. Unfortunately the raspberry frangipan was disappointing too. Beer was excellent.
11/11/2019: Always have a great, freshly prepared meal here with local ingredients. Staff are super friendly and there is a great quiz on a Wednesday, which we have won a few times!! Great to see local charities being supported.

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
14/10/2019: Absolutely beautiful meal with top quality ingredients and fabulous service! Waitresses were very attentive and the actual restaurant itself is really lovely, small and intimate, will definitely be making a return visit!

Sea Breeze

Aberdovey, Gwynedd
09/11/2019: Second visit. Lovely warm welcome, we had the winter break deal of Dinner, Bed and Breakfast which was very good value. Stayed in room 5 which has views over the estuary. The room was big with room for two chairs in the bay window so you can relax and enjoy the view. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge (fresh milk provided). Nice size shower with good quality toiletries.
06/11/2019: Sea breeze is truly a must go to place for amazing food in Aberdovey. The restaurant has a friendly relaxed atmosphere, there are some amazing deals to be had to enjoy the various food and wines on offer and all the staff are welcome and friendly.

03/11/2019: We enjoyed High Tea at the Angel yesterday which was a very pleasant, and relaxing experience. The staff are welcoming, attentive and very accommodating. The food is second to none and even though I arrived famished, I still couldn't eat everything and came away with the famous Angel cake box. 18/10/2019: We live local but hadn’t been for 3 months as a couple, we had actually forgotten just how amazing the food, the service and the overall experience is. Signatures is just outstanding.

The Crown

Aberffraw,Rhosneigr, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
03/11/2019: First visit in the summer by myself, I was keen this time to take my wife. Through nobody's fault we ended up on a tight schedule and had to be in an out quite quickly. Fortunately we were there as service started and so got first through the kitchen. I had the home made steak pie (same as last time!) but was slightly disppointed to see it was burnt around rge edges. My wife had te fish pie which she exclaimed was delicious. Thank you to the wonderful staff who served us - we look forward to coming again.
31/10/2019: The village of Aberffrraw is a off the beaten path in Anglesey. It is on the southern coast road, but well worth deviating from the A5 to visit. The Crown is a lovely pub in the village with good food and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
