The Tram Inn

Castle, Herefordshire, County of
20/06/2018: Visited this lovely pub first on the Sunday where a very knowledgeable barman introduced us to ‘Butty Bach’ bitter, brewed by the Wyevale Brewery - a wonderful brew that slipped down so easily. Then on Tuesday we went for a meal in the pub and were quite amazed at the standard of service (5*), the food (10*) and the Butty Bach again.
19/06/2018: We had a party of 12 on a week's holiday with family from around the country including the Isle of Skye. Our meals were all fantastic. Steak was very tender and best chips ever. Homemade raspberry cheesecake was to die far. Loved everything about the meal. Staff very pleasant and owner amusing. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Piper's Pitch

Longhoughton, Northumberland
18/06/2018: The Auchtermuchty was incredibly tasty and the proprietor was friendly & courteous. Would strongly recommend Piper's Pitch if you're in the area.
15/06/2018: The other half and I had enjoyed a walk to Dunstanburgh castle, happy in the knowledge that refreshments would be available on return to the car.

Pamela's Restaurant

Nelson, Great Yarmouth, 30-45£
10/06/2018: We went to Pamela's for a birthday celebration and once again it truly delivered. The staff now remember us from previous visits and greeted us like old friends. The attentiveness is second to none and once again the food was delicious. It is certainly a wonderful place for a special night out.
10/06/2018: Doesn't look much from outside but palatial inside. The best food and service in ears anglia. The menu regularly changes with tastes to suit everybody.

St Agnes, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
20/06/2018: We booked here for an anniversary meal because of the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We went on a Wednesday evening out of the main season but it was still busy, with several tables occupied twice, so I am glad we booked.
18/06/2018: Top quality restaurant in a small village, good as any London restaurant. Don't often find this quality outside large towns.

Hayward's Restaurant

Epping Hemnall, Epping Forest
03/06/2018: This restaurant was recommended by friend who are resident in Epping, Essex UK.The dinner was to celebrate the end of a wonderful 5 week holiday.
27/05/2018: My partner and I have always enjoyed being challenged when dining out and Haywards brilliant menu was certainly

Falmouth Penwerris, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
20/06/2018: As far as I am concerned, a visit to Oliver’s is a must when visiting Falmouth. This small and unimpressive restaurant continues to produce delicious and sotmetimes unusual food. Last week I enjoyed a lunch which consisted of Brown Crab Pate, Goat Faggotts, and a delicious creamy panacotta. Other members of or party enjoyed goat cheese salads, fish cakes and pigs cheeks, and all were very happy.
18/06/2018: Glorious good, fabulous service, the Black Shiraz something to behold. We will return. What a gem of a place advise booking, as we were lucky to find a couple of seats on the night.

The Lighthouse Tea Room

Filey, Scarborough
20/06/2018: My family and I visited this delightful tearoom at lunchtime today . We were welcomed and shown to a table that could fit 3 of us at a squeeze but the friendly waitress advised that as soon as a larger table became available, she would move us . The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly . The tea shop was spotless and decorated with lighthouse nicknacks as was the toilet !
20/06/2018: On a trip to Filey, we found this lovely tea room, the staff were very friendly, and service very good, we had sandwiches and a ploughman lunch ,with tea with coffee. Would recommend this place, if you are in Filey

The Fig Tree

Hurstpierpoint and Downs, Mid Sussex
18/06/2018: It's not the cheapest place to eat, it's a place for a special occasion as far as we're concerned, but the food is of the high quality, The portions are small, but very nicely presented. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally.
17/06/2018: Highly recommended. Worth the drive from Brighton. Food is at a very standard, service to match. The roast beef was one of the nicest roasts I have had out. All the trimmings and perfectly cooked. Well priced and desetves all the great reviews.

The Singing Kettle

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough
19/06/2018: We came here 2 yrs ago and wasn’t disappointed revisited today and the quality service and good value still hold we are the king and queen of breakfasts having tried quite a few and this is up there as one of the best! Will defo be calling in again and recommending it to anyone who will listen
18/06/2018: Down a wee small alley there is a hidden gem - a good old original cafe. No frills, but clean, with everything you could wish for when looking for a good feed. The tea comes in large mugs, and the breakfast is freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful. 2 out of us 4 who attended are vegetarian, which wasn't a problem. Toast was fresh, bacon was good, and the sausages tasty. Bypass the others and pay the Singing Kettle a visit - you really won't be disappointed

The Sandwich Station

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, <20£
21/06/2018: From the outside this looks like a normal road side food stop, but inside, the most tasty sandwich creations are made. Easily the best sandwich I have ever eaten with locally sourced and home made artisan products. On top of that it's run by a very friendly couple who clearly want to produce quality food. They achieve it.
20/06/2018: We came across this sandwich shop yesterday when we had eaten and just required an ice cream. We were so impressed we drove to it again making sure we were hungry. The couple who ran it were extremely pleasant and homely and the sandwiches were amazing. Judging by the amount of people who were going in and out we are not the first to 'find' this gem of a stopping off place. Please don't drive past it....go in, but make sure you are hungry!

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife
19/06/2018: Simply first class. Had lunch on a Thursday afternoon. A very confident chef that only offers a tasting menu even at lunch. It does not disappoint. Only £35 per head before wine it’s even great value for money when you consider the quality. Expect this place to get more stars in future.
18/06/2018: Fantastic Food, fantastic service, fantastic restaurant. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Delicious.

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
19/06/2018: My wife and I and my brother and his wife came here for a meal and stay. The meal was classy and delicious from start to finish. The room was brilliant with views over the castle a great sight to wake up to in the morning. We had the suite and my brother had the family apartment. The tea and coffee are plentiful in the room. Such a relaxing night was had. The breakfast had all the options and was also delicious a great start to the day.
16/06/2018: So my husband and I visited this restaurant last night. We were just passing, we hadn't booked. But they willingly accommodated us. What can I was fab! We were greeted by the most welcoming, bubbly waiter. Who showed us to our seats and talked us through the menu in full. The menu was refreshingly varied, with an interesting selection. As well as being clear and upfront of the prices. A set menu of two courses £27.50 or £32.50 for three. There were supplements on top of some of the dishes such as Lobster or Surf n Turf etc. But these were very reasonable, and worth every penny! The lobster was the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the Venison, and again he said cooked to perfection. There was plenty on the menu that I hope to sample in the future. The service was the best, very personable, polite and fun. And the atmosphere pitched just right. Formal, but not stuffy dining. Lovely environment. Compliments to the chef and all of the staff. Yum...yum!

Keats Cottage

Shanklin South, Isle of Wight
17/06/2018: Great hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room and the food was excellent too. Thanks.
09/06/2018: This was our first time here, was recommended by friends.Good food, brilliant personal service, great atmosphere.

The Retreat

Grassington, Craven, <20£
21/06/2018: A drizzly, cool morning in Grassington - time for a hot drink. Where to go? Absolutely delightful coffee shop/cafe in the centre of this lovely village. The main window is wonderfully decorated and raises a smile and a note of curiosity before you open the door. Once inside, a warm welcome awaits from the three staff on duty yesterday. Nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly and homely. We were seated, menu’s brought with smiles and cheerfulness and then, quite quickly after ordering our choices appeared. The cheese scones were delicious - clearly homemade, the hot chocolate was hot, creamy and chocolatey - just as it should be with a good helping of sprinkles on top. My friends had coffee and fruit scones and were as pleased as I was with our choice. There was no hurry to move us on, despite Grassington being quite busy, and as we left all 3 staff called their goodbyes with cheery smiles. It is indeed a retreat from the busyness of the streets outside - a place of warmth, welcome, good food and friendship. Just what any good retreat should offer. We will be back!
20/06/2018: I arrived in Grassington at around 2.15pm on Monday afternoon. After checking into my digs, I needed a late lunch. I found myself standing outside The Retreat, as it was near where I was staying. I was hugely impressed with the friendliness of the welcome I received. I had an excellent Wensleydale cheese and chutney sandwich and a bowl of soup afterwards! Both were excellent.

Wee Lochan

Partick West, Glasgow City
20/06/2018: This cozy restaurant in a residential area of Glasgow's west end delivers fine food in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. An interesting menu of modern British dishes using many Scottish ingredients is interesting and pleasing. Fine fish (sea bass and hake) were presented in interesting ways. A good and reasonably priced wine list and excellent puds are notable. Efficient and welcoming service. There is, inevitably these days, a Scottish gin list too!
