City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
19/08/2018: Fabolous surroundings, a high ceilinged library. With Colonnades obviously. Fantastic fixed meny, with an aboundance of tasty savoury and sweet tidbits. Even the ladies room was elegant. Do go there!
19/08/2018: We have spent years trying lots of different afternoon teas in Edinburgh (and beyond) and this is by far the best. The selection of food was wonderful (probably the best we have ever seen), paired with the amazing setting and great, friendly service you really can’t fault this place.

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
19/08/2018: We are so fortunate to have such an outstanding restaurant in St Andrews.
14/08/2018: We were on a small group tour (10 of us) through the Highlands and had dinner at the Grange one night while staying at St. Andrews. We at previously eaten as some very nice restaurants both near Inverness and St. Andrews, but this meal was clearly a step above all the others. The food was wonderful, the service was handled very nicely, and the view outside of the surrounding countryside superb. Highly recommended.

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife
14/08/2018: This is a wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly without being intrusive, it’s small size makes you feel special.
06/08/2018: Superb meal, always enjoy our visits there. Billy is really on fine form - each visit reveals fine dining with really interesting variations and interpretations.

The Sandwich Station

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, <20£
02/09/2018: Great coffee and sandwiches and lovely people. Open early to get sandwiches for a day's walking Tues to Sun.
02/09/2018: Big chunky speciality sandwiches served with a smile at reasonable cost. Dog friendly and great views.

Glen Rowan Cafe

Aird and Loch Ness, Highland, <20£
01/09/2018: This is a lovely little cafe in a beautiful location. The service is very good and the staff are friendly. The coffee is also great, so there isn't much more to be said. An all round lovely experience!
28/08/2018: Looking back through photographs of our recent hike along the Great Glen Way we were reminded of the excellent service provided by the lovely couple that runs the Cafe.

Southside / Newington, Edinburgh, City of, >100£
19/08/2018: The entire experience was amazing. They provide a great tasting menu and wine/drinks paring. The kitchen is very creative and the menu has a lot of interesting combinations taking into account the best/fresh ingredients for each season from local suppliers. Get ready to spend some money, but the experience is worthy if you love great food. The experience is enhanced with the wine/drinks paring, so go with it.
19/08/2018: Recently visited for the 5 course degustation . Talking to staff the menu changes with whatever is in season . If you are going to have wine with the meal , I would recommend the pairing - we had really interesting wines that complemented each course .Great ambience & highly knowledgeable staff

Wee Lochan

Partick West, Glasgow City
29/08/2018: Our daughter had chosen this restaurant for our anniversary, we settled for the pre theatre meal which had good choice for us,the food was of a very high standard and extremely well presented more importantly delicious, My husband had a rump steak which was succulent,as a vegetarian I had the most delicious savoury tart with a impressive side salad, Phyllis had the hake which I was permitted to taste which again was mouth watering.
28/08/2018: I had the monkfish starter, the steak and a dessert (can't remember what it was called)

Skoon Art Cafe

Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas nan Loch, Eilean Siar
02/09/2018: Fantastic little art studio/gallery and cafe well and truly off the beaten track. They welcomed us even though it was almost closing time AND provided soya milk for coffee and vegan brownies with soya cream. An unexpected and very welcome surprise.
28/08/2018: The simple and sophisticated decor, as well as the short menu perfectly executed, could be straight out of any arty urban neighborhood, but the Skoon Art Cafe has the advantage of being smack in the middle of the starkly spectacular East Harris landscape. The food is flawless, and the proprietor couldn't be nicer.

The Loft Country Kitchen & Restaurant

Highland, Perth & Kinross, <20£
19/08/2018: This restaurant serves very tasty and healthy cooking. We were made welcome by the friendly staff/owners. Could answer without doubting on specific allergene question.
15/08/2018: Superb restaurant, staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. We wanted an authentic Scottish meal to end our holiday and we got just that. Exceptional menu with a great range of starters, main courses (venison was awesome) and desserts along with a cheese board that epitomised Scotland with a variety of really tasty local cheeses. Great wines and some fantastic new world wines on the wine list.

Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland, 60-100£
17/08/2018: Oh my word, this was the best meal we've had this year and stands out as one of our all time favourites. This is a tiny restaurant, but the food that comes out of the kitchen is truly incredible. It's impossible to pick out our favourite dish from the five course tasting menu, but I think the soup and sandwich just about pips everything else to the post, although the lobster and prawn pot au feu was a close contender. The assiette de desserts was amazing. The portions are just right, but we couldn't have managed one more bite...
17/08/2018: Lovely lunch at Loch Bay today. Food was delicious and service relaxed.

Cafe Eighty 2

Aird and Loch Ness, Highland
27/08/2018: No teníamos cobertura, fue el primer sitio de camino a Inverness que vimos.
25/08/2018: Stopped here as a family on our way down to Yorkshire. We had the full Scottish breakfast (£8.95) and homemade beans and cheese on homemade toast (£6.20). Washed down with black coffee, ginger tea and a flowering tea. In a word - superb! Very friendly and prompt service with a great menu of homemade dishes. The Scottiah breakfast was big, well cooked and with haggis, black pudding, homemade baked beans, mushrooms, homemade bread/toast, tomatoes, bacon and sausage. My wife stated it was the best fried breakfast she has ever had. If we could give a six star rating we would.

Number One at The Balmoral

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of, 60-100£
19/08/2018: Red lacquered walls give this place a lovely feel. Everything perfect. Service a delight - friendly without being intrusive. Recommend finishing with a whisky upstairs at one of the best bars in the world.
19/08/2018: My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here last weekend. The food was excellent as were the wine choices. I look forward to celebrating our anniversary here for many years to come.

The Boathouse Cafe Bar

Kintyre and the Islands, Argyll & Bute, 20-30£
29/08/2018: We were super organised and booked at table here last saturday for lunch during a one day visit to the Island. The restuarent itself is so cute. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food is incredbile. I had the fish and chips and my boyfriend had the lemon sole and we were both blown away. Clearly cooked and prepared by talented chefs. Most defintely worth a visit if you are on the gorgeoes Isle of Gigha.
28/08/2018: Delicious food with generous portions. Very friendly waitress who was run off her feet with all tables taken, but still managed to do it all with a smile on her face! Definitely recommend it.

The North Port Restaurant

Perth City Centre, Perth & Kinross
19/08/2018: We had lunch here yesterday, we were a table of 8. It's a lovely restaurant, the staff very excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Just about everything is cooked fresh so the kitchen gave me a wonderful gluten free meal with no trouble at all - compliments to the chef! Well worth a visit :)
19/08/2018: This must be one of the best restaurants in Scotland. The ambience and the staff are delightful. The tables are spaced well apart. The service is excellent. We both had a squid starter followed by one hake and one lamb, then one cheese platter. Every dish was a triumph, and the bread was fabulous. Food and wine were all reasonably priced. Well worth going out of your way to eat here.
