We stayed here for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on both evenings and it was fabulous! Rooms are superb, hosts are lovely, great variety of drinks and lovely touches and attention to detail everywhere. The small plates were wonderful... scallops, steak and croquettes were favourites. Great location for sights too!

A few months before we traveled to Scotland, I had booked another Uig restaurant just to be sure we had somewhere to eat while in Uig. The Ferry Inn only opens bookings up 6 weeks out so I marked my calendar for that date. When the day came, I went online and reserved a table without any trouble. When we got to Uig and were telling our bnb hosts that we ate at Ferry Inn, they said we had "won the golden ticket" and told us how difficult it is to get a table there! After eating there I can see why. The main room is divided in half. One side is a lively bar and the other side is the dining area. The dining area only had 5 tables! Priority is given to guests staying at the inn so that is why it's difficult to reserve a table if you're not staying there. Guess I got lucky! The Ferry Inn is a family-run business. Mom manages the inn. Gordon (the dad) runs the bar while Hamish the son runs the kitchen. Our server, the daughter, does everything else. Even the family dog makes the rounds of the dining room. It's such a cute place on the outside too with string lights lining the cottage roof giving it a warm welcoming appeal. They offer a tapas menu and recommend 4-6 dishes for 2 people. All the dishes sounded quite good so it was hard to choose! We went with 5 dishes and they were all spectacular!! I can especially recommend the scallops if they are offered. We ate scallops at multiple places in Scotland - even at Three Chimneys on Skye - and these were hands-down the BEST ones anywhere. The ribeye steak with chimichurri was also excellent. The flatbread dish was yummy too. After our trip was finished, we both agree that the Ferry Inn was the best restaurant we ate in during whole month in Scotland!

So delightful! One of the best parts of our 2 week trip in the UK was our stay at The Ferry Inn. The Morrison family was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. We stayed at the inn for 3 nights and what a treat it was! The room was beautiful and so comfy, and the food was incredible! And as others mentioned, Mac was the cutest and a real character. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful and positive our experience was! I am hopeful we can return someday!

We arrived too early and had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. The Ferry Inn margarita was great and beers were very good too but the best part was Mac the bad dog! Every dish we ordered was delicious, specially the scallops were incredible! We were very well received, everyone was really nice and welcoming!

Exquisite Bed & Breakfast in this quaint small town! The special touches and spells that made you feel at home. And a special thank you to Anna and Gordon. It was very lovely meeting you and making our stay so memorable! Keri

Me and my wife were very excited to visit this bar however the bar man was very rude, not welcoming at all. He was more obsessed with pouring his own drink than serving his customers. My wife was appalled with his bad language too! The Men’s toilets are gross, the floor is disgusting clearly hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. I nearly slipped it was that wet with either urine or tap water.

What a wonderful place! As good as the food was (and it was fantastic), the service was special above all. The epitome of family comfort as Dad runs the bar and helps daughter with the tables, while son is the cook (and apparently Mom runs the business side). We felt a bit like you are the family's guests for a personal dinner -- including their terrier dog, Mac, who took prime position by the fire and entertained all. Just 8 seats total in the restaurant with a small pub in the next room. All four in our party had a different entrée and shared -- everything was outstanding. Cocktails were well-executed. Reasonably priced considering the quality of food and service.

Incredibly chic, cosy and friendly Inn. Wonderful decor and ambience. Awful weather when we drove there, but the Inn looked very welcoming bathed in candlelight. Someone has a great eye for design - beautiful colours, textures (cushions, throws, storm lanterns, black & white photos of The Beatles and The Stones etc). We had 4 small plates between us and all were beautifully cooked and presented: our favourite was scallops with black pudding crumb, bacon jam and oats. Well deserved reviews. It was worth the one hour drive each way in atrocious conditions!

We always make a point of trying to get booked in for a meal when visiting in Skye. Such a lovely atmosphere, in a beautiful location. Always made to feel welcome and staff are so kind and friendly. The food, WOW! The menu has changed slightly since our last visits, to a tapas idea with all freshly made and locally sourced ingredients. Presentation is perfect and all the dishes tasted amazing. We had the scallops, steak, baby potato salad, breaded halloumi and fries. With good advice from Anna, we shared the cheeseboard after. You can also expect to find Mac in the bar area, a wee celebrity in the Ferry Inn! We look forward to our next visit - be sure to book as they get booked up quickly! My only complaint is that there’s not really a quick route from where we live to Uig, to visit more often. Thank you again for a wonderful evening!

While booking for dinner at The Ferry Inn was quite difficult, but believe me, it was worth the effort. This is the place that made me really want to come back again and again. The food was great and the staff were so friendly and kind. We ordered steak, scallops, mackerel, haddock, burrata, cauliflower steak, etc. almost everything on the menu as the owner suggested. And we glad we did. Because every dishes were unique and really delicious. On top of that, we also had a small complimentary birthday cake for our son's birthday. And in the receipt it was written " Happy Birthday from us!" How nice! Thank you Anna and Gordon.

Lovely comfy homey ambience for dinner. The service was superb! The food…superlative! Nicely thought out: the Angus steak was cooked to perfection; bringing out the meaty taste. The haddock goujons was the high class take on the plebeian fish & chips. Yummy deep fried haloumi..the beetroot purée was a great combination. We finished the meal with a selection of Scottish cheddar and Gouda as week as a dark flourless choc cake with ice cream. Deserves the great reviews received! Thank you Anna & Gordon!

The Ferry Inn is the loveliest place to stay, so much so, that my boyfriend and I have been back to stay three times. Regrettably, this is the first review that we have left. The hotel is set in the idyllic location of Uig, overlooking the peaceful bay. If you’re lucky enough to stay when the weather permits sitting outside, there is a perfect patch of grass on which to enjoy THE best cocktails and beverages served by Gordon. And if it’s not so warm, so what? The view is epic and the thoughtful Ferry Inn staff provide a blanket upon which to relax in these comfortable chairs. When it’s time to leave the outside, the inside has an even more delightful surround. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by beautiful aromas and sights. The decor is lovely - the reception area is cosy with its homely touches and stylish furnishings, boasting a log fireplace - and the outside view is still visible. The bar and restaurant are also so lovingly laid out, and getting to watch Mac the lovely dog wander around and weave around the fireplace makes us feel at home. The food is incredible (by both Hamish and Gordon), both at breakfast and dinner. We literally can recommend every dish, but, to name our many favourites: Venison charcuterie, Haddock Goujons, Burrata and ALL the seafood when available. ALL of the sauces are fresh and incredible flavours. Onto breakfast - this is a complete indulgence of heavenly fresh fruit and granola, porridge, pastries, a full Scottish Breakfast - even the scrambled eggs are indulgent. The beds are extremely comfortable and although the Bayview and Woodland views are both stunning, the addition of the bath in the woodland room makes the stay even more luxurious. Behind the scenes, Shona makes us an immaculately made room to enjoy. The attention to detail in every aspect of this hotel is always appreciated. From the beautifully made homemade jams and chutneys, to the hand picked wild flowers, to the kind and welcoming faces of its staff. Anna is always happy to provide ideas and information for local walks. This is so much more than a hotel to us - it’s so personal and relaxing and we are incredibly lucky to have found you. No matter the weather outside, the comforts and kindness of the Morrisons have always made our holiday truly excellent.

We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be coming back. Our first time visiting Skye and we had booked a few nights in various hotels around the island - The Ferry Inn was by far the best, in every way. Our hosts - Gordon, Shona, Anna and Hamish - were incredibly warm, thoughtful and generous as well as being great fun. We were made to feel like old friends and didn’t want for anything during our stay. The food is, without doubt, outstanding and we were treated to specials of freshly caught scallops and lobster for supper, both of which were unforgettable. Our room was spacious, stylish, luxurious, with beautiful views of the sea - it was so immaculate that we felt as if we were the first people to ever stay in it. The Inn is located in a great position and was a great base for exploring the attractions of the north of the island. We can’t wait to return soon.

I booked a table for dinner via email and communication was excellent. The restaurant is small so booking is definitely recommended. We enjoyed the food very much and it was all beautifully cooked and presented. Service was very efficient and friendly. Our favourite meal of the 3 we had on our short visit to Skye. The bar looked like a nice place for a drink but one of us unfortunately had to drive.

Gordon was a most gracious host for this fantastic and comfortable B&B. To make the place even more fabulous, it has an awesome restaurant. We ate there every night of our stay - the food was out of this world, lamb, venison and local fish.

My husband and I visited here for our last meal on Skye and so pleased we did! This was walking distance from our cottage in Uig. The staff were really welcoming, not to mention the roaring fire. Our dinner was delicious. The interior design is so nice - I took several pictures as inspiration!! My only suggestion would be turn the music down a little bit (or maybe I'm just getting old haha!). Next time we visit Skye we'd like to book a room for the night. Highly recommended!

We were visiting Skye and went for dinner at the Ferry Inn, I loved it! Great food, best mussels I’ve had in a long time ( I want the sauce recipe), the wine was good and each course was spot on. They have created a great atmosphere, making us very welcome and feeling relaxed and happy we’d decided to book. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality of food. Highly recommend. All the staff were friendly while the owner makes the whole place work. Next trip to Skye we will be back.

I’ve eaten in the Ferry Inn now on a number of occasions and can say that each time has been an absolute pleasure. The care and detail this family run business put into sharing this little window into their beautiful home on this incredible island is second to none. The owner Gordon will entertain you with laughs, a perfected range of Gin cocktails, shots to send you on your way and the best bar music playlist on the West Coast as the sun sets off the North Atlantic and fills the bar with golden light. Food served to absolute perfection with skilled, warm and welcoming waiting staff and a flawlessly tasteful contemporary blend of modern and traditional interior design make this place a gem for any visitor to the Isle of Skye! :)

Our party of 8 took over the rooms at the Ferry Inn for two nights for our roving annual get-together. This is one of the finest accommodations we have ever visited. The rooms are tastfully, comfortably, and comprehensively furnished and equipped. Very comfortable bed, spacious rooms and a lovely residents' lounge. The host and staff were exceptionally welcoming and attended effeciently but unobtrusively to our every need. Food and bar were at a very high standard. The Ferry Inn deserves a listing in Scotland the Best.

The staff accommodated us with a vegan risotto which was excellent. There’s a nice fireplace and relaxed atmosphere. The barman is great, his taste in music is so good (where’s the playlist please?), the gin was very reasonably priced... we’ll come back!

We visited for dinner and drinks on our first night in the area and just loved this place! The service and atmosphere were fantastic and we loved everything we tried! The family who runs this is just lovely and we enjoyed warming up by the fire after a long day of hiking in some rainy weather. Loved it so much we went back the next day for cocktails.

On our holiday in Glenelg we popped into this cafe, which is popular with both locals and visitors. We only had coffee, but the food on offer looked very tasty. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is ample parking nearby. Overall a nice place for a snack. Highly recommend.

Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.

This place is a hidden gem! We were driving by and found it by chance. The crispy chicken burger was really tasty. My kids loved the nachos and loaded fries. The food quality and taste were amazing, and the prices were very affordable. If you’re in the area, it's a must-try, and the view from the place is breathtaking.

The hotel is in a very priviliged situation overlooking the bay of Loch Duart. The hospitality service is great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Some of the decoration misses the final touch, i.e the wintergarden, the reception area. But it is still a very recommendable address.
