The Bealach Cafe and Gallery in Highland

If only there were more cafes like this is around other remote parts of Scotland. Wonderful food, fantastic service and a nice vibe.

This was a very delicious and beautifully quaint cafe (and gallery)! Super fresh bread, wonderful sandwich combos, fresh dessert selection that's hard to choose from, many beverage options, and wonderful service!

The shop/café is just before the Applecross pass heading north. It’s a modern shop with beautiful original art and gifts. Very unique stuff and representative of the area. One of the artists works the café. Delicious soups sandwiches and pastries. We had a great lunch.

A fabulous find off the A896, a friendly café with fabulous views and wonderful vegan choices! So glad we stopped!

We visited this place about 5 years ago and it was great. Returned today and we were delighted to find that it’s the same owners and is still superb. Excellent home-baked cakes, very good hot chocolate and the pancakes with fruit and maple syrup were delicious. The staff are lovely - friendly and chatty. We throughly enjoyed our visit!

Everything about this place is just fabulous, the food is amazing, the staff are simply superb, the pricing is pretty darn good as well. This cafe and Gallery ticks every box. Give it a try and be amazed and become a fan

Always visit this delightful cafe on our trips north. Wether it's for a breakfast to set you up for the day or coffee and gorgeous homemade cake ( the choice is amazing and has gf and vegan options ) Light and airy setting and such happy staff, a great place to stop before your adventue over the 'hill' You can also browse the adjacent gallery for some lovely gifts and admire Sharon's amazing artwork. One of the best places to stop if you're in the area.

Beautiful setting, Sharon is an excellent host and the staff were very friendly, polite and genuinely looked happy at work. Turns out Sharon is the artist! Amazing landscape paintings all from her imagination. Absolutely stunning so I had to buy a print. The food was delicious with a salad that made our taste buds dance. Very good value too. Noticed the chairs looked like they were from a church so we asked Sharon……you’ll be amazed at the answer as to their origins!! We also met Sharon’s 2 dogs, one called Ernie and I can’t remember the other name! They’re gorgeous. If you’re travelling the Bealach Na Ba this cafe is a must. Treat yourself to some original art as well!!

A welcome stopover after the Applecross Pass road for breakfast. The egg roll and coffee were fantastic and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The interior is so lovingly designed! Highly recommended.

I remember last coming here with my family on my 12th birthday, and we came again this week just after my 18th birthday! We always remembered this cafe for the ‘smiley lady’, generous meals and gorgeous cafe dogs! Coming back, the cafe stood strong with our memories, of a lovely atmosphere and great staff. Highly highly recommend to anyone passing through xx

Outstanding!!! Really great service. I had the halloumi wrap and a slice of chocolate cake. Both were absolutely immense. Family had soup and cake and everything was absolutely delicious. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food.

Lovely place as a stop off en route to Applecross. Gorgeous gallery with amazing art and ceramics. Lady who served us was so sweet and kind. Great food (pancakes and sausage in a roll with amazing haggis extra) and good coffee. Amazing views.

Lunch at Tornapress, in a cafe so ridiculously friendly it had to be a trap, right? Some Truman Show-type ruse to trick us into, well, what? Let’s just fall into it and see what happens. Pancakes. That’s what happens. I’m expecting a simple plate of carbs, because this is where the cyclists all fill their thighs before tackling the pass. But I’m presented with a brunch so prettily adorned with fruit and chive-flowers it could be in some Michelin-starred eaterie.

Faboulous bowl of soup and sandwich . Scones to take away . Also bought jewellery and artwork in the gallery . Money well spent . Will recommend to everyone . Staff welcoming

Stopped here for breakfast before our long drive home and was just what we needed- service was friendly and quick and gorgeous views out the back of the cafe. Food was spot on and the cakes looked immense.

Great coffee and cakes plus a small gallery with great pottery and art. Was our downfall as we came away with 2 items.The view from the lovely cafe was very special.

Great place found as many others have said by chance, very cute inside and tables on the terrace and in the sun. The staff are really pleasant and attentive. The food is very good, best scone we've had in Scotland. Good vegetarian and vegan options. A great stopover to recharge on the road!

We had a lovely warm welcome from the two ladies at the Bealach cafe. We stopped for a cuppa & a slice of cake. Spoilt for choice! Service was prompt and the cakes were delicious. The gallery has a variety of interesting crafts too! Well worth a visit.

Lovely cafe and gallery, very dog (and owner) friendly. We had breakfast with possibly the best bacon we've ever eaten! Beautiful views while you eat too. Also make sure you have some money to spend in the gallery as they have some fantastic art, pottery etc from local artists.

I was one of dripping wet bikers and my bikes electrics succumbed to the weather. The owner, a lovely woman could not have been more helpful. The other two ladies working there were also lovely and friendly. Btw, the coffee and cakes matched the hospitality. Highly recommended. 🙏💕

Myself and 6 other bikers popped in recently on a rather cold, wet, and windy day. We we're concerned about making a mess with our wet gear, but the staff we're so friendly and welcoming. Tea, cake and scones were to die for. Highly recommend this place if you're passing by.

A delightful gem. We had some lovely pancakes, garnished with a selection of exciting fruits, and tasty barista coffee. There was also a very yummy looking selection of cakes and other sweet treats - it was so hard to decide, but we were pleased with our choice of Victoria sponge cake and Malteaser tiffin - delicious! Very friendly staff/service, and nice to look around the gallery afterwards too. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

Such a gorgeous cafe. After driving down the Bealach na Ba pass we stopped for some lunch. We both had their delicious soup and the best coffee. Incredibly friendly & welcoming staff as well. Highly recommend.

Very nice stop, the staff, coffee and food are lovely. Just be careful on the car park on a motorbike. The gravel is a little loose.

Schönes kleines Café/Bistro mit angeschlossener Gallery. Sehr schöne (Hand-)Arbeiten zu stolzen Preisen. Das Angebot im Café ist überschaubar aber sehr lecker. Die Backwaren scheinen tatsächlich selbstgemacht. Auch einiges an veganen und glutenfreien Speisen im Angebot. Die Preise empfand ich als moderat.

Bonne surprise pour un arrêt café par hasard. Serveuses sympas et plein de chause café gâteaux et sandwichs pour un petit break !

The location and the food was really nice. I had the smoked salmon sandwich which was really good and a very delicious cappuccino. The little shop is also beautiful with many handcrafted gifts. Had a great time.

Une très belle surprise que cette pause gourmande au milieu de nulle part avant d'attaquer la route de montagne pour Applecross. La nourriture est très bonne et les desserts au chocolat à tomber, le personnel est d'une gentillesse remarquable et le service est rapide. Il y aussi une petite galerie attachée comme cela se fait beaucoup en Ecosse avec de l'artisanat local. Un très bon moment dans la campagne écossaise dont nous nous rappellerons !

Great stop with super food, Rachel, Hazel and John are super friendly. Especially good for cyclists, be sure not to over indulge before the climb. Worth phoning ahead to reserve a table as it can get busy. Gallery is great to browse and buy some quality Scottish art. Thank you for a much needed tremendous lunch 💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💪

Wonderful place, fabulous variety of cakes and good coffee. Nice view to the mountains. Very nice staff, they are offering also for take away, dogs are welcome. We would definitely come back when we are in the area another time.

We were heading south and found this wonderful place by chance. The breakfast with a view was fantastic and the staff super kind and friendly. We felt more than comfortable. It’s a must stop place, even if just for a cup of tea - highly recommended!

Had a bit of disaster.Driving up the Bealach na ba and got half way up and the Land Rover decided to deposit coolant all over the road Eventually managed to get down to the cafe where we were met with wonderful staff and beautiful food Can not rate this café highly enough THANKS TO ALL STAFF AT THE BEALACH CAFE AND GIFT SHOP

Stopped for coffee and some lovely citrus cake. Great coffee, great cake and really lovely staff which gave our dog lots of attention.

Visited this fantastic cafe 2 years ago on our usual 2 week holiday in the highlands, sadly drove 50 miles to get there last year and they were closed gutted. This year took no chances emailed Sharon asked opening times in November got a reply saying only open Thursday/Friday 11-3pm. On arrival today we were met by Sharon shown to a table and give a menu. My wife fancied the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich I know it said it came with salad but when it arrived my wife was gobsmacked it covered a dinner plate. My wife has never tasted a better or fresher salad it had everything you could think of. I had a bacon roll which must have contained a quarter of a pig.we did the drive up the pass and back to the cafe for homemade cake. Changed our mind when we saw homemade vegetable soup it looked to good to miss so we had to bring cake with us so that was tea sorted. The best cafe and food we have been in. Cannot fault anything about café staff are so polite and friendly told Sharon we will see her next year.

We visited the Bealach Cafe as part of our motorcycling trip around Scotland. A beautiful oasis in the middle of a harsh but beautiful country. Excellent desserts, great coffee and very nice people. Definitely worth a stop.👍🙂

Gorgeous food good value and a number of vegetarian options. Had a meal before doing the drive and camping. Staff very friendly and we went back the next morning for coffee and cake. Nice flat white !!

Rocked up having just done Applecross and absolutely loved it. Sandwich was fantastic (cheese and chutney, with a lovely side salad) and the fish finger roll was outstanding. Not the cheapest but was incredibly fresh and full of flavour. Staff excellent, all really friendly and happy. Location perfect. Car park a bit gravelly but you can still get bikes parked there - there was 5 or 6 already in the car park so I know it can be done. Excellent coffee and really nice selection of teas too.

Loved it. Passed it many times over the years. Stopped this year and wish we gad stooped in earlier years. Very friendly with good cakes and drinks
