We did diner. When we arrived no table available but we could do a drink at the bar and wait a while. After about 30 minutes we got a table. We ordered Salmon with greens and mashed potatoes. Great food. Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the live music

Lovely restaurant I’ve visited many times . BUT this time I had a black pudding roll. It was mushy and not nice . Eddie Richie’s black pudding is much nicer . I know it’s a matter of taste but the one you use isn’t as nice . Your restaurant is lovely and well run with lovely staff and the only thing I didn’t like is the afore mentioned black pudding. Called in for drinks at Lunchtime and decided to go back for an early dinner. Sat outside as we had our dogs with us. Mike came to take our order. He brought out heated cushions as it was getting a bit cool. One of the girls fetched water for our dogs. The food was fabulous, home made Pizza and a Chicken burger with fries. The pups shared the Pizza crust, they enjoyed it too.! Super friendly staff, good location. Highly recommended.

We popped into Poppies on our way home and were pleasantly surprised! We ordered a small and large Scottish breakfast, almond milk porridge, and some coffees — everything was absolutely delicious. Big compliments to the chef! The five female staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Our children treated themselves to the meringue and strawberry Swiss roll, and they loved it. Everything tasted super fresh and homemade. Unfortunately, we did notice one of the male staff members wiping his nose with his fingers before handing out cutlery, which was quite off-putting. My wife mentioned it to the manager, who took the complaint seriously and dealt with it professionally and efficiently. Despite that one issue, our overall experience was superb. Excellent food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This is a cautionary tale rather than a review! I note that the Castle Stalker View Cafe is shown at being less than 5 miles from Kingairloch estate. That's technically correct, but those 5 miles are by sea: by road it's nearer 25 miles, as one has to drive up to Ardgour, cross the Corran Ferry, and then drive down the other side of Loch Linnhe to Appin.

Only good part of the experience was the food. Burgers were great as usual, but service was shocking. When we looked around, every single table was sat with empty plates waiting to be taken away, despite it being quiet with a reasonable amount of staff on. No one came to check on us after we got our food, and when we were finished, we wanted desserts but eventually gave up as clearly no one was coming, and all staff looked disinterested in helping. We didn’t feel a tip was necessary for the service, and when the waitress saw we didn’t tip, she gained a cheeky tone. Would not recommend.
