Went today for a fish wrap. It was large, and it tasted ok. However, the cooking oil used for the fish and chips smelt old, and as if it hadn't been changed in a while. This put a bit of a dampener on my meal. It wasn't inedible by any manner, but it was an off-putting smell.

Popped in to get a couple of cups of tea/coffee but the queue was huge so didn’t bother. Might be an idea to have a separate drinks counter for that? Really enjoyed previous visits when we've had food and don't mind queuing for that.

This was highlighted as being worth visiting whilst doing the NC500, with a craft area, deli and cafe on site, alongside a small veg stall. There is plenty of parking, the produce is good quality however the prices reflect it. A lovely seating area at the back of the venue looks out onto the water.

Stopped here after a sesrch on Google. What a lovely find - so much more than expected. Food is lovely - had a warm crossent with goats cheese, caramilised onion and mushroom. Tasted sooo good. Cup of tea with bit of fudge on side. Hubby had cake - chocolate with a custard like filling and an Irnbru. There is a lake beside the cafe grounds and you can sit in the tented area and be warm but still enjoy the outside. There are some shopping areas and artist/local makers gallery/shop. Visit if you can - so worth it. Dogs can come too but nerd to be on their best behaviour. Wheelchair accessable too.

Excellent as usual, food and service top notch. Salads with smoked salmon and the other prawns, added chips and new potatoes which we swapped over halfway through!! Lovely... Bought a carrot cake, only £3.50 and that was our treat for two more days when kept indoors by rain. Everyone here, staff and other customers, very friendly and genuine so will definitely stop here again.

Delicious food served here (lamb tagine and beef bourgninon) and yummy cakes too. We had to wait a little as it was so busy but it was worth it. Its very well organised. Our visit to this cafe today for lunch was unfailingly a joyous experience. Here is a place that is in a beautiful location with lovely views of the Cromarty Firth, distant hills and sunbathing seals on the nearby rocks. As a family, we have dined here for at least the last 17 years, while on holiday. This place is the bench mark of a well run establishment. A visible and welcoming owner, who runs a tight ship with happy, loyal, motivated and well trained staff, who work positively together as a team to deliver a high level of customer service. Nothing is too much bother and the staff are keen to check that you have everything that you need and that your lunch is satisfactory. There is a high level of cleanliness both at table side, self service station and toilet facilities, with supplies replenished and checked frequently. The food menu is extensive and of a high quality, (most produce is locally sourced), freshly made, portions are generous and prices are reasonable. This is a very popular cafe and as a result, there can be a long queue around lunchtime. However, this is mitigated by the super organisational skills of the Manager and their team, so the wait doesn't feel too long and it's definitely worth it. I have to say, that in 17 years of dining here, I have never had a bad lunch and the staff have always been professional and helpful in their approach regarding any additional requests made by myself/family. I am not surprised this cafe has won previous awards and accolades and I would highly recommend a visit to extended family & friends.

Visited mostly due to reading good reviews online and being suggested by others online however breakfast was disappointing. We visited at opening time so we were the first through the door and when we ordered our breakfast it was lukewarm and it arrived within minutes which indicates that most if not all was pre cooked. We also both had belly ache afterwards which is very unusual for us. The cakes were inviting and the two gift shops on site had really lovely gift ideas, worth a visit. Would not return to eat based on our breakfast experience.

One massive problem with this place. You're expected to stand in a queue of around 30 mins to order your food, and even then there is no guarantee of a table. I can't imagine elderly having a good time with this system. All the negative reviews mention this from years ago and they don't want to do anything about it. The food followed shortly after ordering, maybe 20 mins. The food looks delicious, but not in my case unfortunately. I ordered the salmon poke bowl and it was just drowned in soy sauce. Shame really. Went out of our way to come here.

Stopped off whilst on our journey doing the NC500, and so glad we did. Service was great, the seating areas were clean and tidy, and the food was beautiful. Really lovely food but I just do not understand why they say to queue for food before getting a table, meaning that you might have already been queueing to order food for 10 minutes and then someone will tell you there are no tables so you'll have to wait longer. Very tricky especially when you have kids with you, would surely make more sense to queue for an available table and then order your food, like any other restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious it just all felt a bit harassed.

Bloody awful. Will not go again. The car park is horrendous.. full of gaping deep potholes and chasms. The restaurant is mobbed and noisy. Long queues at the till. Ordered cauliflower and potato soup with a scone. The soup was pretty inedible - left most of it. Just tasted of cheap stock cubes and over salty. No evidence of cauliflower but did have peas floating on it. Nasty. The scone was far too sweet. Maybe they could resurface the car park with the fortune they must be making. Inexplicable as to why so popular. They need competition fast!

Excited to go back here after a year away. Shocked that the state of the car park, big potholes, cars parked in a disorderly manner. Eventually got in to cafe. Nothing has changed since last year. Long queues, felt hurried to read board, then had to look for a seat to sit and eat our food. Nota relaxed atmosphere. Can I suggest that you sort out the car park ASAP before cars are damaged. Food was excellent once we got it.

We stayed at the property for one night and were very happy with everything. The room (double bed) was perfect for our short stay and had everything we needed. The shower was excellent and the bed comfortable. We were upgraded to a Seaview room upon arrival and we really enjoyed the great views of the bay and Inverness. Andrea, our host, gave us a warm welcome and served us a wonderful (cooked) breakfast the next morning. Parking is available on the street right outside the door. So you really don't have to look long here. There is also a lounge with a refrigerator and a winter garden. However, we didn't use this during our stay. We will definitely be happy to sleep here again when planning a trip to Inverness.
