Etive Restaurant

Oban South and the Isles, Argyll & Bute
27/09/2020: Small restaurant away from the front in Oban. The cuisine was vey good value the only slight error was that the venison was slightly overdone. The wine list had been chosen with care, in fact the wine I chose is now on order for my cellar.
25/09/2020: Michelin recommended, decor, very tasteful, cleanliness excellent, greeting and service first class as for the food = 1st class. Land and see tasting menu was stunning, wife and I loved the experience, wine we had was also excellent, if your in the are I can whole heartedly recommend Etive, worth every penny, and if visiting Oban again I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again Thank you

The Haggis Box

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
19/10/2020: Lives up to the reviews. The haggis was excellent and the host is very friendly with excellent service. I had the red wine gravy sauce and it was very tasty. Great value.
16/10/2020: Amazing and delicious! Well priced meal! Great customer service that makes you want to come back. ;)

The Upstairs Restaurant at The Townhouse

Highland, Perth & Kinross
03/09/2020: The place is ran like a Swiss Watch, only two waiting staff, settled us in pleasantly and safely to a lovely table. The menu looked bog standard but the food and wine was far from that, we will be back on our next trip to Aberfeldy
21/08/2020: Just returned from one of the most beautiful meals served by engaging staff in a really Covid secure environment. The quality of the food was outstanding and will certainly return again. Staff really polite cams couldn’t do enough for you. Well worth a visit

Oban Fish and Chip Shop

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute, 20-30£
15/11/2020: We have used your chippy for 15 years since moving to Oban, it is definitely the best. However, no masks being worn by staff and letting customers in without masks yesterday? Poor show when we are still in a pandemic.....
04/11/2020: My wife and I were delighted by the freshness and quality of the haddock and chips. The batter was impressively thin and crispy. The chips were perfect. It's been a long time since we have had such great fish and chips. Great service too. Well done, The Oban Fish and Chip Shop. Thank you. We have tried other restaurants in Oban. The fish and chips here wins by miles.

Pibroch Scottish Restaurant

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of

Thistles cafe/bistro and takeaway

Meadows / Morningside, Edinburgh, City of
12/12/2020: First time visit to this cafe. Had a really nice breakfast with a good selection of tasty ingredients, generous portion too! Worth a try.
18/11/2020: Excellent place to go for breakfast and lunch.Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and simply but very tasty food.Highly recommended!

Poppies Garden Centre & Tea Room

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute, <20£
28/11/2020: Absolutely faultless - could not recommend the place more! Gorgeous garden centre and gift shop with a wide array of plants, unique gifts and home furnishings (not to mention the incredible display of Christmas lights and decorations!). The restaurant was pleasantly bustling and the staff were extremely attentive - nothing was too much hastle. Service was fast and the food was beautifully presented and delicious!! As if that wasn’t enough, there was a huge selection of cakes in the front cabinet which we were able to away with us. If there is one thing that you can do to brighten up the end of this year it would be to pop into Poppies for a homemade lunch and a browse around the shop!! Perfect day out and even managed to make a start on the Christmas shopping. ☺️
26/10/2020: We had been staying for a few days in Oban and talking to the owners of the Guest House we had been at about the range of plants in their garden they told us they had got some of them from Poppies which they knew we would be passing on our way home.It was indeed easy to find being just off the main road and we went in to have a look. It not being long since we had earen breakfast we didn't visit the restaurant. We did however have a good look around the shop and made a couple of purchases. These made our stop worthwhile.

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
05/10/2020: I always think the real test for any restaurant is Sunday night. Stocks smashed it - great menu, superb food and very attentive staff. Would happily go again.
26/09/2020: 餐厅环境很安静。服务很好。牛肉汁水丰富,薯条一般。朋友点了鹿肉烩面。肉很嫩,甜品和前菜也很不错。非常推荐!

La Potiniere

North Berwick Coastal, East Lothian, 60-100£
27/07/2020: Throughout the Covid lockdown, Keith and Mary have provided food for both the local community and especially for those shielded and vulnerable - how wonderful is that?Back on holiday in Gullane at long last, it is great news to know they’re re-opening again for lunches starting Sunday 2 August complying with social distancing regulations. We go home before that, but enjoyed a superb lunch provided by the restaurant. If you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat. The food is just exemplary!

Friars Wynd Bistro & Bar

Castle, Stirling
28/10/2020: Booked this as part of our tour of Scotland. We've never been to Stirling before and we were staying just one night. We parked just down the road on the town carpark which was a 2 minute walk away as the Restaurant is on a pedestrianised street. Lovely welcome from the young girl who checked us in, took us up to the room. The room was amazing! Huge room with great decor and a nice bathroom with modern fittings. The night we arrived here was the night that Scotland went into a strict lockdown and no alcohol was to be served. They did offer to cook for us as we were the only ones staying there. We went downstairs and had the restaurant to ourselves which was nice, we ordered our meals and they were really good, apart from drinking coke with them!We did however have a bottle of wine in the room to make up for it. In the morning we again went down for an amazing breakfast. We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Both staff were friendly and chatty, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again.
Desayuno preparado a pedido. Me sentí seguro Covid.

Castle Stalker View Cafe

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute
28/10/2020: What a lovely little place! Looks very unassuming from the roadside. We only stopped as we saw the castle on the water and pulled in to get some photographs, then saw the cafe and thought we would pop in for drinks, we ended up having breakfast.Nice open space with great views, small gift shop area and a great menu. Service was good and staff friendly. We had scrambled egg on toast, slightly expensive for what it was, but nice. A sausage barm, tea for two and it was around £14. It was really quiet when we went in, but minutes later it was full! Obviously a popular little venue. Nice little walk down to view the castle too. Worth a visit.
21/10/2020: We are never disappointed by the warm and genuine welcome we receive at Castle Stalker View. The coffee is delicious and a good range of cakes are all home made and baked to perfection, the meringues are particularly fantastic. Covid measures are in place without being too intrusive, so it is still possible to have a relaxed break in this crazy world! There is also a lovely gift shop at the entrance to browse Scottish wares. What more could you ask for?

West End, Dundee City
15/12/2020: One of the best restaurants in Dundee. Been here a handful of times and their steak pie and Cleveland medley are excellent. Lovely staff and atmosphere.
12/12/2020: This restaurant is amazing every time. When we lived in the city centre we would go here regularly and since moving to the outskirts of town we hadn’t been in a while and it was so nice to go back and know they are still doing great food! During the current situation they are doing takeaway as well as eating in so we collected our order and brought it home it was well packed and still tasted amazing! Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

The Storehouse

Cromarty Firth, Highland
10/11/2020: The pulled beef wrap I had for lunch was excellent with plenty of filling. Having ordered my meal and a coffee I sat at a table which was, I felt, too close to the one next to it, meaning I was sitting back to back with someone. Drinking the coffee while it was hot meant that due to the wait for the meal it was finished long before the food arrived. Next time I’d take a cold drink. The food was really good so I’d visit again. It was also a big mistake to order a scone to take away from the restaurant as it cost £2.50 whereas on popping into the shop I was gobsmacked to see the exact same scones for sale at £1.30 each.
26/10/2020: The pizzas were amazing! We liked the Auld Smokey and the Feast pizza. Staff are very friendly and helpful and are sticking to Covid restrictions which is very comforting. Cakes looked delicious we had to take some away

Perth City Centre, Perth & Kinross
18/11/2020: First time visiting and was completely overwhelmed by the excellent service. We were provided with a very personal and intimate service. The two ladies that served us were very friendly and down to earth but in a professional manor. It was a very cosy warm vibe inside the restaurant and the Christmas decorations were just beautiful! The food was outstanding and the portions very generous, absolutely worth every penny. I cannot fault anything about kisas, will definitely be back and will be recommending to everyone. Thank you for a great night, hope to be back soon :)
29/10/2020: A most pleasant visit to Kisa's again today for morning coffee and delicious cake! All covid regulations strictly adhered to and the usual warm welcome from charming staff. Reassuringly, temperatures are taken on entry.

Stacks Coffee House & Bistro

Land Caithness Ward, Highland
17/11/2020: Popped in to Stacks Bistro 2 days ago for lunch after building up an appetite by walking out to the cliffs to have a look at the actual "Stacks" of Duncansby. The staff were very freindly and welcomed us into this warm and cozy bistro. My wife and I both opted for the special which was melt in the mouth braised beef served with tasty garlic polenta and cabbage. The food was superbly cooked and tasted absolutely delicious. Feeling rather full after our main course we had to share some sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, which was also fabulous.I would highly recommend anyone who goes to John O'Groats to head to Stacks Bistro, you will not be disappointed.
02/11/2020: Popped in for a coffee and was delighted to find they had a gluten free option - their chocolate brownies. These were so good I bought the brownie cookbook and will now try to produce my own delicious bites. Excellent service from very pleasant staff made this the perfect afternoon break.
