La Potiniere

North Berwick Coastal, East Lothian, 60-100£
02/03/2020: This is the restaurant to visit if you want to savour the delights of wonderful cooking.
26/02/2020: I took over the restaurant for 25 people for a birthday celebration.

Poppies Garden Centre & Tea Room

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute, <20£
11/03/2020: Return visit, had lunch a couple of years ago.
11/03/2020: First time visit. Just popped in not really expecting much but OMG... the food was amazing. I had the Panini with Black pudding, bacon and brie and my girlfriend had the seafood platter! Quite honestly the best panini I have ever had. We both finished off with a strawberry tart! Lovely wee place and will most certainly go back.

Perth City Centre, Perth & Kinross
10/03/2020: Visited with my family for lunch, food was fresh and tasty and arrived quickly. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of food and drinks available. Would recommend and will be back. Thanks
06/03/2020: The snack lunch was good but quite expensive for what we got. The staff and service was exceptional, a nice bar for an evening drink or meal before the theatre but is fairly small so an advance booking is necessary.

Oban Fish and Chip Shop

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute, 20-30£
11/03/2020: I had a late lunch here yesterday, and once again it was superb. The haddock was perfectly cooked, as were the chips and the tartare sauce was spot on.
09/03/2020: Excellent quality and service, good value for money, whether eating in or taking away. Only complaint is the always slippery floor in the seating area.

Castle Stalker View Cafe

Oban North and Lorn, Argyll & Bute
08/01/2020: An excellent vantage point for Castle Stalker, particularly on a clear day. Plenty of parking spaces and a footpath down the hill, although we were unable to get past due to various broken branches and fallen trees. The gift shop and art work are worth viewing. The food choice is great and whilst we only had coffee and a scone, the scone was freshly made. We did see the food being served to other customers and it looked amazing. Definitely worth a stop off.
12/12/2019: Made a special trip from Onich as we’d read good reviews of the cafe and we wanted to take a look at the castle and surroundings. The cafe is in a fabulous location on the loch With great views of Castle stalker. I had a wander down the bank (is there an easier way?) and eventually got to the shore to take a few pics of the castle. Was also lucky to have great views of an Otter for about 20 minutes with lots of other interesting wildlife. Back to the cafe and myself and the wife had a cream tea. The scones were lovely, staff friendly and the general feel of the cafe was warm and cosy. The cafe is dog friendly and our Border Collie had a well deserved rest in the cafe. Also a nice little gift shop attached to the cafe area. Definitely recommend a visit.

The Storehouse

Cromarty Firth, Highland
05/03/2020: Just great the best food by a long way in the Highlands poached eggs were cooked as requested the breakfast was a lot to eat and includes tea or coffee this is lacking in Scotland we have eaten dinner here as well faultless
29/02/2020: Very popular and busy restaurant with quality local food. Staff are very friendly and helpful and will efficiently find you a table once you have been served.

Stockbridge Kitchen

Inverleith, Edinburgh, City of
24/02/2020: Fantastic homely food. Cakes were amazing too. Staff made us feel very comfortable and looked after us from the minute we got in. Great place to enjoy a massive slice of cake from there amazing selection or some of the best tasting food home comfort food in Edinburgh in a relaxing atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
22/02/2020: This wonderful eatery just gets better and better. We visit every time we are in Edinburgh and it never disappoints.

Auld Alliance Restaurant

Dee, Dumfries & Galloway
25/02/2020: Visited this restaurant Friday evening. Sensational value for money. The food is unique freshly prepared by the very modest yet brilliant chef. He even took time to come to every table after service for a chat. He is supported by two lovely well mannered friendly young ladies. The complete team. You simply have to try this food. Thanks again...did I mention celebrity master chef x
28/09/2019: Loved this restaurant. Interesting menu and the food was both delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cost of a meal for two was very reasonable. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

The Cellar Door

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
28/02/2020: Think this is my new favourite restaurant in Edinburgh!!! Cullen Skink risotto and Aberdeen Angus burger were both amazing

Couper's Creek

Black Isle, Highland
02/02/2020: Feel this little cafe is above the average category but under the very good category. Certainly not as good as it used to be but it appears to be under new ownership so perhaps, it just needs adjustment time. Young staff who, although pleasant, require training. Mix up with our order, tea pot required two tea bags as like dishwater, millionaire slice presentation poor as chocolate totally cracked, we had to clear the dishes off our table as did the neighbouring table, was over charged and had to ask twice for my refund. Had a cheese scone which was tasty however. Appears to need some polishing around the edges but has great potential. We definitely visit again in the hope that it had improved.
20/12/2019: the cafe was allright but its better now because its not coupers creek its curchstreet cafe the staff is traned and LOVELY!!!!

Crouch End, Haringey
01/03/2020: A lovely little restaurant in Crouch End offering Scottish Italian fusion food which to my surprise, was quite nice. I ordered the delicious Vegan option. We also ordered the Onglet (very chewy), Guinea fowl which was scrumptious, Rissotto with scrumptious truffle oil and sides of polenta chips (very greasy) and new potatoes which were to die for! Starters were Haggis arancini, tomato bruschetta and a salad of mixed heritage tomatoes with homemade ricotta cheese, all very tasty. My only gripe, the mains did not all come at the same time and the food was a little cold. As we were starving we didn't send it back. The service was great, the staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The overall ambience was very good. A trendy little place to go with a bar you can sit at whilst you wait for your table. We each bought a cocktail to start and then a couple of bottles of the house white which was very nice. Price for a table of four with cocktails, starters, mains, 2 desserts and 2 bottles of wine came to £55 each which we thought was very reasonable. Will go back for sure.
22/02/2020: Laid back atmosphere, great food and a very good wine selection. One of the better restaurants in the area..

Badenoch and Strathspey, Highland
05/03/2020: Macdui's has a good pub menu to choose from. Prices are great value and when we went for dinner, service was fast and friendly. We both ordered the homemade chicken curry, which was very tasty but having been reassured by our server on ordering that it wasn't too hot, were surprised at how hot it actually was. If we'd known, we would have ordered something else from the menu as we prefer a mild to medium curry.
05/03/2020: Had dinner and drinks at Macdui's, food was good and staff were very friendly- a good Scottish friendliness that seems to be disappearing in other parts of the country. The sticky toffee pudding was Mmmmmmmm yummy.

Crags Hotel Restaurant

Trossachs and Teith, Stirling
06/11/2019: The waitress was first class. The choice from the menu was really quite extensive and the quality of what we ate was lovely. If in Callander I would recommend you give it a try either lunch or dinner.
22/09/2019: Stayed for a single night. Nice room even if it was not the largest we have stayed in. A friendly welcome and a comfortable stay. Sensibly for a small hotel they ask you to pre-order breakfast which was beautifully cooked to order. Unfortunately can’t say anything about their evening food as the restaurant is closed in a Monday and Tuesday. Very good value for money.

Galashiels and District, Scottish Borders, 20-30£
02/02/2020: Went for a post rugby meal with friends, which we enjoyed very much. I had the Haggis Nachos , Baked Cod and Malteser Cheesecake, all delicious. Nice service and a nice warm haven on a cold February night.
01/02/2020: After an appointment at the BGH, took my dad here to get some late breakfast. Food was great and the staff where all smiling. Even tho it was busy was seated quickly and served just as quick. Amazing coffee and even came with my fav choc :).

Kinleith Arms

Pentland Hills, Edinburgh, City of
10/02/2020: Este lugar fue genial. Fuimos a almorzar un sábado y no estaba demasiado ocupado, pero lo suficientemente ocupado como para que tuviera un ambiente.
31/01/2020: following a closure due to necessary maintenance we wanted to revisit to check if the quality had changed.....and we were not disappointed .
