Overall it was a nice experience but I wish they pay more attention to the ingredients they use! It feels better if vegan food is also healthy for instance the mango chutney over the falafel was basically like a jelly or jam rather than real chutney! I think they use refined sugar in some of their creations! I was told I could have swapped the mango chutney for Tahini sauce which makes more sense to be on top of falafel.

Awesome atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff. Special thanks to Allina for making us feel welcome and attending to us. Food was also very good, the best brunch we had in a while. Thanks all!

Amazing food at Seeds For The Soul. Food was fresh, tasty and just hit the spot for us! The vegan scramble was like egg!!! Loved the place and wonderful, friendly service too. Their cakes are moist, tasty, something else! (Jaffa cake slice was v indulgent)

Very disappointed with their main course. I ordered a satay bowl, which was basically just a bunch of salad with a bland sauce. Doesn't worth the money at all.Never come over again.

The only food place I have been that states it's fully vegan and actually truly is! What a beautiful and unique little place. Tasty food! Polite and welcoming staff. Toilets on premises but no easy parking. Easier walking to service.

I've been to Seeds For The Soul a few times now and have been greeted by lovely staff as soon as I enter every time! The customer service is 10/10 and the food is amazing - what more can you ask for?! If you're looking for a cosy spot for coffee or a meal then look no further! Highly recommend and I'll be back soon!

Tasty vegan food and drinks in this cosy cafe. Whether you prefer wholefoods or modern vegan seitan/proteins the food is delicious. Highlight recently was the Juicy Marbles steak. The cakes are also wonderful with flavours changing by the week.

We drove from London to Edinburgh when my daughter suggested that it is vegan capital of the world and Seeds for Soul proved it. We four sisters met after a tragic event in the family and this place touched our souls for sure. We had invited a local friend who was not vegan and they offered her a free oat milk coffee. Forgot to ask his name, but the guy in the beard was the sweetest person who served.

I took my partner who comes from Spain and struggles to find vegan restaurants/cafes so seeing him indulging your food unstoppably and desperately was exactly what you're looking for in a restaurant. Lovely people, so attentive and caring Needless to say, delicious food

Being a vegan food fan, this place stole my heart and definitely tops the list now! To begin with, the place is very cozy and cute and does give a comfortable vibe altogether. The staff was very courteous and all smiles. They did help us with what’s best and what should we go forward with and trust me we loved every bit we had. So we had crispy smashed new potatoes- it was basically a sweet potato salad which was lip smacking. The vegan benny - THIS WAS MY FAVOURITE DISH HERE - an avocado base burger and it was delicious. Every bite was so satisfying, this is a must try. Steak frites with Chimichurri - a juicy and tender vegan steak which was cooked to perfection and it just melted in the mouth. It was served with fries and chimichurri sauce. This is hands down a must try. Chick N Pan Plano - wrap with all amazing ingredients brought together to make it so delicious. The combination of the vegan chicken wrap and the dip was perfect. In drinks, we had a classic cold coffee which perfectly made as per taste requirements and the lime & sea salt kombucha was the best to have with so so much of good foood for the most satisfactory vegan meal! Last but not least we had the Lotus biscoff cheesecake- a perfect ending with amazing texture. This has to be the best vegan restaurant in all of UK. A must try for everyone (even if you eat meat- trust me you’ll love it)

Great Vegan Brunch, can thoroughly recommend.

The smoothies we ordered were delicious, healthy, tasty and also at a good price. The breakfast looked amazing but unfortunately was cold. Especially the mushrooms, beans and tofu. These items must have been sitting on the plate for at least 10 mins to get that cold whilst the other stuff was being plated before being served. We also waited 2-3 mins to get cutlery after our food was served. I wouldn’t have minded if a staff member was around I could have told straight away, but no staff around for a further 5 mins, my friend wanted to eat and we had somewhere to be. I pointed it out to the staff by approaching the service area, who offered to heat it up but I declined and explained we didn’t want to wait further. I ate half of my breakfast excluding most of the items that were cold. We were charged full price for everything and I assume the thinking was because I didn’t take up the offer of the food being re-heated. They should understand the damage was done by this point and not fixable as we didn’t have any more time to wait. If you are served cold food and you can’t wait for another meal, you really think it’s fair to charge the customer? I wouldn’t return based on the poor service and the terrible decision not to comp something off the bill as acknowledgement that it was below par.

I'm not vegan but enjoy plant based options, so took my daughter and her friend here. The Satay burger was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. Very fresh with a kick! My daughter loved the Mac n cheese bowl and the smoothies went down great as well. Service was also lovely. Thanks very much!

Atmosphere (busy and warm) , staff, menu choices and food (We were in a group of 4 , different choices) all our idea of perfect. Not in Edinburgh often but if we are , we will be coming back.

So disappointing. I am vegan, and I’ve been looking forward to trying their food for a while. Overpriced, small portions and food looking rather sad. £6 for a handful (literally) of soggy, limp, super greasy sweet potato fries. Yes I did order takeaway via Deliveroo and I can therefore understand the fries arriving cold, but still…Not even one sauce on the side for that ridiculous price?! Or a bigger portion at least. Couldn’t believe my eyes. Satay bowl consisted of just some dry, shredded lettuce, cabbage and carrot, four strips of tofu and basic peanut sauce, for almost £15. Not even some noodles or rice…? Total rip-off. £21 down the drain. No idea how they justify these prices.

Nice soup, good salad, very nice chips, tasty 'Christmas in a mug', very delicious, small slice of cherry something cheesecake. Others seem to really enjoy their burgers, another had haggis meal which looked to me like a child's portion, but may have made up in taste. Lots of green, which I like, otherwise would suggest three stars for food. Not too crowded this time and service error apologised for.

Absolutely delicious vegan food, probably the best vegan breakfast I’ve ever had. The Vegan Benedict is perfect. Homemade meat replacements really make the difference here as compared to other places who just use shop bought products. Superb stuff.

Amazing place to enjoy Vegan food.

The food was lovely, if a bit unimaginative but the vegan burger was really tasty. It was disappointing when we turned up 15 minutes early for our table to be flatly turned away. It was a chilly, dark night and I can't see why we couldn't have been let in to wait...?

Had breakfast here on quite a few occasions and it is always really tasty. Staff are lovely and it's dog friendly. I highly recommend a visit you won't be disappointed. ☕

The food was lovely but unfortunately if you are someone who can’t cope with continuous loud banging sounds like me then don’t go. The problem is that the stairs which are close to most tables must be bare wood because every time a particular member of staff went up and down to collect food or take dishes it sounded like loud construction work. Not a nice atmosphere at all .

I never thought I liked food very much, but I was in edinburgh almost a month ago and still cannot stop thinking about this place. I visited almost every day since the day I found it - probably about 7 or 8 times total, and ordered from every menu, (breakfast/all day/baked treats). I rarely repeated a meal and all of them were amazing, both in taste and presentation. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I also felt 100% comfortable dining alone here. I hope to go back to edinburgh one day, if only so I can revisit this charming cafe.

I'm always amazed how these chefs at SFTS manage to get the flavour and consistency of their veggie dishes so like the carnivore equivalent. Well presented, well served, tasty, nutritious and healthy.

We had the vegan haggis neeps and tatties dish for lunch, this was literally the best meal we have ever eaten!!! We are both vegetarians who have eaten a lot of boring vegetarian food but seeds for the soul is the proof that vegetarian and vegan food can be the most incredible food ever. Been wanting to go here for a while now and finally had the chance to! The bagel was absolutely delicious, the avocado was perfectly creamy. The coffee was really good as well, although slightly watery, but I did get it with almond milk so that might have caused that. Highly recommend going here if you’re looking for some delicious vegan food ❤️

Wow this place was delicious! Perfect vegan restaurant with many options. We got the haggis, soup of the day (potato and leek), and a hot chocolate and it was divine. So comforting on a cold rainy day, and very filling too.

Highly highly recommend- my favourite restaurant. Staff are always super friendly and the restaurant inside is so cute and ambient. The food is also incredible 1 I brought my mum once and it took her till halfway through the meal to clock what she was eating was completely vegan !

Wow, what an amazing place. The Cauliflower, prawn sticks and the calamari was amazing. Sadly a year later and my starters no longer exists:-( it's still a good restaurant but feel like the soul has left the seed.

Genuinely the best vegan breakfast I’ve had in my life!

We used to come here for Valentines day dinners, to celebrate birthdays, or just to chill with friends or for a romantic brunch for two. Deliverooed their food on lazy days in.. Sadly the menu was cut down and a lot of my favourite options inc. all the vegan “sea food” and wine, beer and coctails were pulled off the menu. These and more were the unique and delicious things that made us recommend this place to others and come back often. We’re left with cauliflower wings as any other vegan-option place. Staff on my visit a few days ago was an older blond lady. When we asked about the wine being gone she simply stated there’s no alcohol. We said it’s a shame because that’s what we came for-wine, beer and something nice to eat. She remained silent, so I ordered a coffee and my partner didn’t order a drink as he was purely after a beer this late in the day, so he apologised and said there’s nothing of interest for him to drink. The lady just left and didn’t inform us about the new system. When I finished what I ordered, I went to the toilet and saw a couple drinking wine at their table. I asked about it at the till on my way out and only now I was told it’s BYOB. If this was stated to us at the beginning when we made it clear to our server that we were after a drink, we could’ve went next door and grabbed some, we would’ve stayed and ordered dinner, however the lady wasn’t very helpful and left this information out so we went to eat elsewhere. Sadly won’t be coming back again as the amazing menu we loved and the lovely helpful staff are no longer there to make us want to spend money at this location anymore. Cake was lovely though.

Fantastic send off for our trip to Edinburgh since we saw the great reviews it was well worth the trek to the restaurant. Fantastic range of vegan options with good portion sizes, we had the vegan Benedict, Mac and cheese and vegan steak which everyone loved. The drinks were a little pricey. Moreover, the bakery offered some delicious sweet treats - of which the banana and walnut cake was delicious. 1000% recommend for anyone vegan or otherwise.

The food was 10/10, feed the belly and the soul. We were well looked after and the atmosphere was casual.

Super endroit pour un brunch ou un déjeuner ou une simple pause goûter. Les boissons chaudes y sont très bonnes. Mais mention spéciale pour les plats salés très bien travaillés et délicieux. Great food. Burgers 🍔 were better than their cruel cousins🐖. For breakfast go for Vegan Benny, you will thank me later. Staff is incredible helpful! Note to the owner: please add service charge automatically to the bill, or at least give customer an option to choose amount on a terminal. These tip/QR thing is unnatural and I bet it’s harmful for your great staff. Mariella is a glowing star ⭐️ of this place.

Food was so nice, really tasty. The sweet pancakes were excellent, so fluffy and the grilled nectarine on them worked perfectly. The staff were friendly and the restaurant/cafe was a really pleasant place to sit.

Had the pleasure of breakfast at this wonderful establishment during my recent visit to Edinburgh for the Fringe. The food is fantastic, obviously vegan, but catering to gluten free also. Plenty of great choices bursting with flavour. The restaurant is well situated for those visiting the city centre, it's comfortable and welcoming atmosphere makes it perfect for catch-ups with friends, family or lovers. I was looked after by the wonderful Abby, who made the visit exceptional. She was knowledgeable, charming, friendly and made me feel incredibly welcome. She also advised me to try an outstanding "Snickers" style cake, which was delicious. Couldn't recommend this place more and will definitely be visiting again on my next visit to Edinburgh. Vegan food woo hoo... Seeds for the soul has a menu that offers a fair range of items and a good selection of cakes, sadly my experience was not wow. We booked and was shown to our table, glass of water while we look at the menu. I had the beyond BBQ burger, with the poppyseed bun (I'm still confused why a brioche bun is the go to choice, its cake why would I want a cake wrapped burger?) The bun change is a 2 pound additional charge, again why? We also had buffalo cauliflower and my partner had Mac and cheese. The place has a nice feel and a relaxed atmosphere, a bit too relaxed. Food arrived and it was OK, burger was as expected (if you've bought a beyond burger you know what they are like) Mac and cheese was OK and the cauliflower had a good crisp coating, the garlic alioli was very nice. Then a dog starts barking. In the restaurant. And doesn't stop. After what felt like 10 minutes of barking we both decide we will have our desserts to go, we sit for more than 5 minutes staring at the staff at the counter, plates stacked up, clearly done, deliveroo people arrive and are dealt with, still waiting... Finally we are noticed, I ask for the cake we want but to go, and the bill. Dog is still barking. We pay and leave, our airbnb is not more than 200 yards away, we get in and one cake looks like it was dropped into the box. Dont bother, I feel mean saying it, but the staff didn't seem bothered, it wasn't busy, there were 5 tables with no more than 15 people total but we waited a long time for everything. I'm not gonna go back, and I don't recommend you wasting your time or money.

This is a great place to have a vegan Dinner. We had delicious burgers with homemade fries and big bowls. The service is great, the room is beautiful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's a tiny restaurant, so it might be better to book in advance.

The vegan steaks topped with chimichurri are absolutely amazing! They are the most delicious plant-based steaks I have ever tasted. They had the perfect texture resembling skirt steak and were bursting with the authentic flavors of Argentinian chorizo. Being from Argentina myself, I can confidently say that the chimichurri truly transported me back to my homeland.

A wonderful 100% vegan restaurant with great decor, atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was wonderful and portions were generous. We'll definitely be visiting again next time we're in Edinburgh. I had the Nourish bowl and my husband had the Satay bowl.

Delicious burgers! But I asked to swap the fries with the salad including greens, for 0.66p, like it was offered on the menu. I got told that "this isn't possible". I can only add the "Side salad" which costs 4 pounds... But I'd have to pay for the fries nonetheless... When I asked why I couldn't choose the item which was described on the menu, the waitress told us that she doesn't know and understand either, but she was told it's just not possible. I'm still baffled how complicated and customer unfriendly this was handled by the restaurant crew and would love to get an explanation by the owner why I had to pay an extra 4 pounds for something offered for 66 pence. Thanks

Having read all the positive reviews, I had definitely expected more. The food was rather bland, there was a tiny amount of dressing, but no additional seasoning. I like pure food, but this was actually boring. The kind of food that makes carnivores stick to their habits. Furthermore, I must have insulted the staff unintendedly - I came in without reservation and was lucky enough to get a table anyway. The table was wobbling though, and yes, I cannot enjoy a meal on a wobbly table. When I asked the staff for something to stabilize it, they asked me to sit next to the toilet door, so they could fix the table. So while I had my bland food in plain view of the restroom, nobody fixed the table. Wouldn't come here again.

My absolute favourite of all the [many] vegan restaurants that I tried during my trip around Scotland. My husband and I decided to go here for dinner, and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. I ordered the sweet pancakes with strawberry rhubarb compote and extra vegan bacon from the all-day breakfast menu, and my husband ordered the vegan steak frites (made with vegan filet steak from Juicy Marbles). We also ordered a slice of apple pie with vegan ice cream. All of the food was delicious and filling, and made me wish that I lived in Edinburgh again so I could eat here every day. I can't wait to return to Edinburgh and try more from their menu!

I'm not vegan but I come here because staff are friendly, its not too expensive, and they have fresh food that celiacs can eat. Portion size is great and the smoothies are awesome. Falafel soul bowl is my favorite, green goddess is also worth it. I've heard the wraps are nice from my friends who can eat gluten.

I had a burger… oh wow! So good!!! It’s was the juiciest meatless burger ever and it was loaded with salad and mushrooms and vegan cheese. The chips and starters were fab too. The restaurant has a great atmosphere; especially the music and the decor. This is definitely the best vegan food I’ve had so far in the city.
