Super hyggeligt sted med den bedste skotske morgenmad/frokost til en god pris. Det var ventetid da jeg kom ind omkring kl 10. Men der blev hurtigt en bord ledigt. Anbefales på det varmeste.

Service was very friendly, the breakfast was delicious. We had shakshuka, avocado Toast and swiss musli and the portions were just right, not too big

Such a cute place, delicious coffee and anywhere that has all day breakfast (and is affordable) is a win. We ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast, an egg and avo morning roll, a smoothie and two espressos. Everything was perfect!

It was sunday around brunch time, the place was full but only because they have maybe 6 tables in total. The service was incredibly slow and un-organized, there were 2 waitresses and one cook. For a small place like that you would tink it was enough. The food was average, my eggs benedict were overcooked and the scothis breakfast was hardly warm. With all the comments here, it wasn't what I expected.

Great chai latte And the ham and cheese croissant is also very good.

The juice was from a bottle instead of being natural. Then they took too long to attend us. And it was too expensive.

We really enjoyed full Scottish breakfast at that place 🥰 Even though the cafe was a bit crowded in the morning and we were warned by the waitress that we might wait a little bit longer, we were served quickly. The quality of the food was amazing, the music in the background was soothing, and the tea selection was satisfactory. Not a big place - three small tables at the ground floor and some at the first floor, so you might not be able to get a table in the morning. Lovely waiter service ☺️

If your looking for a harbor of peace away from the storm, a beautiful little cozy nook to warm up and eat, look no further. Standard fresh fare with a fresh homemade turn. Love the quaint narrative cafe ambience. I had the haloumi burger and fries and was well satisfied. Don't you just love when you have to pay and you are really glad you get to leave some of your money with the people there,... because in your estimation they deserve it. Lovely pop in place even if just for a latte. Great friendly, calming, hard working staff.

Lovely little gem of a place just outside city centre 10minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley (and definitely worth it). Croque Madame was excellent coupled with a lovely scone. Staff couldn't be more friendlier would well recormend.

This was the first place I ate breakfast in Edinburgh. The food was delicious and everyone that worked here was so nice and friendly. I made sure to make it my last breakfast here as well. Friendly service, delicious food in a beautiful city. Definitely give them a try.

One of the best coffees I’ve had in Edinburgh. The food was great too! The lady who runs the shop is so kind and wonderful. 10/10! Make a stop here to get some food and coffee!

On top of friendly and accommodating service, the food and espresso were as delicious as we’d hoped. I got the Full Scottish breakfast and my wife got the Eggs Benedict. It looked just like their photos on Google/Instagram, and we’re already talking about going back to get taste more of their menu tomorrow! Check it out, you will be glad that you did.

We decided to go here with the reviews and although the staff were pleasant the food really wasn’t great. The orders were wrong and the wrap was cold inside and not heated through. I’m afraid I wouldn’t eat here again. Hi, I don’t know how to reply to your message with a new post so have edited my original. It was the humous wrap. Delicious breakfast. We tried three types and they were all phenomenal, toast with avocado and salmon with 2 eggs, a full Scottish breakfast and pancakes. The waitresses are very friendly.

Delicious breakfast. We were able to go there at 8 o'clock, unlike many similar restaurants. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious. The girl at the counter was super hospitable!

We had a great family breakfast - they were so busy but remained friendly. We had pancakes, full Scottish breakfast and the chorizo Shakshuka; all delicious. The Turkish coffee was great and the coconut milk cappuccino was amazing.

Super lovely staff! I had salmon avocado toast and pancakes, pancakes were sooo flaffy, just amazing. They also have great Chai latte that wasn't too sweet, just perfect. Can't reccomend more

This was the most wonderful experience of our entire vacation. The breakfast was so good. Our favorite was the Nutella banana pancakes. But the service is what made this place stand out above all the rest. The two women working on the morning we went were so friendly and welcoming. It was a fabulous stop!

Had 2 full breakfast and flat white for brunch on a cold rainy day. Cafe was busy and food was slow. Breakfast as good except that baked beans were served cold, like out of a can. Was wrongly served a flat white with pumpkin spice syrup when we wanted 2 flat white. Was charged for the server's mistake unfortunately (£4 instead of 3.60) We were running late and did not dispute the amount since there was a queue at payment. Disappointed because we went because of the good reviews.

Good quality breakfast roll. Tasty and warm. The down side here are the staff. They are chatting to one another very loudly while ignoring customers.

Such a perfect, smaller cafe with excellent food, wonderful service and an inviting, attractive decor. They have a couple tables downstairs but several upstairs and more outside. The staff is so friendly and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend Cafe Elmrow!

Absolutely great cafe. Service was amazing. The atmosphere was nice. I loved the design with the mezzanine flooring. Very clever use of space. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Basically everything you could ask for from a local coffee shop. Never got the chance to try the food this time around but next time I definitely will. Overall I would highly recommend, whether you need to do some work on your laptop or want to hang out with friends this place is perfect.

Our favorite coffee for breakfast/brunch! We went there three times during our stay because the place won us over. The products offered are truly excellent and on top of that, the staff is absolutely fantastic!

Nice place to have breakfast. The Scottish breakfast was good, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the toase with avocado and salmon, which was mediocre.

I will be honest I was not expecting such warming feeling from this place. The pancakes were something out of this world, not only incredibly soft but still had texture from what I was pleasantly surprised. Espresso was good as well even though it wasn't my favourite blend, the staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is calm and warm with slow jazz on the background Will be coming back

The service and atmosphere are great. Can’t say the same about the food unfortunately. Scone was extremely crumbly and old. Couldn’t eat it. The full scottish breakfast had a raw egg. I’m not talking about the yolk :/

They didn't have gluten-free bread options but they offered me spectacular crispy potatoes much better than gluten-free bread. The girl was very kind and nice. I recommend.

My latte came with a hair on top. We ordered two dishes with avocado and both came with inedible avocados. They apologized but didn’t offer to take the price off the bill. People shouldn’t have to pay for food they cannot eat. The waitress was cold and unaccommodating. The egg and cheese on the morning roll I had was decent otherwise.

We had breakfast here twice during a short stay in Edinburgh. A cute little cafe, with not very many seats. The coffee was wonderful and our food also tasted very good. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices are local.

We came for our breakfast and the staff was really lovely. We had shakshuka and smoke salmon, avocado and poached eggs. The portion was quite small but the price was affordable so that was great. We sat on the second floor and it was with the same level with the decoration on the ceiling which needed a bit of cleaning.

Really nice place, we chose this one cause it was near our accommodation. They were fast and friendly and the food was great.

Full breakfast was good. Egg Benedict is a little bit sour probably because of the hollandaise sauce was not seasoned with enough salt. The coffee was good though. Small place, very good service.

Went in with family and had most of the things on the breakfast menu. Everything was cooked to perfection! The pancakes are the best we had in a while. Our lovely server made our experience even better with her energy. Visiting the city for just 3 days and considering coming here for our last day as well :)))

This café is in a handy central location, and service was quite prompt. Unfortunately the food itself wasn't great - in particular, the shakshuka was a very small portion of undercooked vegetables in a watery sauce (and served with just half a slice of bread), and prices were high for the quality.

The cafe was easy to find and had a relaxed feel about. The cafe itself was busy no matter if you went in the early morning or around brunch. The service staff were great to talk to and interact with and service was prompt. The lattes are great and the menu has a variety of breakfast staples and unique flavors to try if you’re just visiting town for a couple of days.

An absolute rip off! £3 for a breakfast roll before you add a filling?!?!?! Then £1.20 a filling. So a black pudding and tattie scone roll is £5.40. Lorne sausage and egg roll the same, bro had egg, sausage bacon fire £6.60. At least that's what I got charged. Staff don't know what is black pudding and what is haggis. I do. I ordered one and got the other. Mentioned it and the waitress offered to change it but I didn't give that much of a thought - accidents happen but then the chef and manager told me I was wrong and that I had been served black pudding. If that was black pudding it was more barley than blood. Now I've had Charlie Barley black pudding from Stornoway but this was not that. £3+ for concentrated apple juice too. Asked for water as well, never arrived. Not recommended. The opposite of happy in fact.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place! The food was incredible, everything was cooked perfectly everytime we went in. The service was wonderful, the owner was so friendly! We will definitely go again when we visit Edinburgh again.

Food was good, but the portion sizes for some of our meals felt small. Service was friendly, and the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor eating options, as well as a cleverly-integrated second level. Coffee is good but not great (including the turmeric latte), and the smoothies are refreshing.

Such a lovely and cosy place to enjoy your breakfasts. Not like most cafés, it was already open at 8AMy which we really appreciated as we tend to get up early. The full Scottish breakfast was a delight. Everything was just perfect.

The food here was really top quality. I ordered a veggie breakfast as pictured. The hash browns had bits of chive in which really added an extra dimension of flavour whilst the sourdough bread had a lovely crunch to it. Every component was cooked to perfection, however I believe the portion sizes could be slightly larger - when ordering a breakfast I imagined more than one sausage. This being said, I have no complaints about the quality of the food or the service. The waiting staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable and relaxed environment. I would return despite the portions.

Overall the service was slow. If you have plenty of time to wait it's fine, otherwise it could be a pain. It took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Coffee came before the food, and it was great. However, the egg Benedict was a bit sour, a taste of vinegar. Also the inside of the café was a bit untidy, with random things piled up under the staircase. But of course it's a bit cheaper than other cafés, if it is what you are looking for.

The best Breakfast i will visit again

Went in a few weeks ago for breakfast and was quite disappointed. I asked to swap out streaky bacon for ham (which is used in other menu items) in the eggs benedict and was told the chef won't make anything 'off menu'. I ordered pancakes and was delivered three of the smallest pancakes I've seen (10cm diameter at a guess) with half a banana chopped on top. Couldn't believe the portion size for how much it cost. The tropical smoothie also just tasted like orange juice, even though that wasn't listed as an ingredient. My partner had a cooked breakfast which he said was fine but my meal was extremely disappointing so I wouldn't return or recommend.

Highly recommend Cafe Elmrow. Went there for lunch today and had excellent food and fantastic service from lovely friendly staff. Stayed longer than we intended as atmosphere was so welcoming. Good quality food at very reasonable price. Delivered to table very quickly. Peanut butter chocolate brownies so good we bought 2 to take away with us. Will definitely go back there very soon.
