Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Glasgow City

Great proper tasty, meatfest stomach filling grub and drinks to match in a fantastic setting. Wear walking boots if you are a toilet regular and the steps should have traffic lights. Staff were great but felt a bit pushed to get finished which diminished the experience.

First visit - we were given a voucher to use The restaurant is situated in an lovely old bank, you enter the toilets through the "Vault" door - quite quirky. The food and service was good but the friendly and professional service we got from our Waitress Mags certainly made the "occasion"

Even though there were plenty of empty seats, I was told I couldn’t be seated without a reservation. There were two other customers as well, but they were also turned away. I was shocked because at other locations of Miller&Carter, I’ve never been turned away despite there being plenty of open seats.

Place stunning as normal staff friendly food wasn't great this time, lobster tail over cooked and didn't smell fresh, main course was returned asked for sea bass but was sold out alternative was cod that was returned as soon as it was placed on the table the smell was disgusting. Staff were great till I returned the main dish then she wasn't happy chirpy when we went in and then grumpy after we returned the meal

Kevin was brilliant first class customer service and made my son and I visit really fabulous.

Food was out of this world!!! Will definitely be back!! Martin was phenomenal from start to finish, his knowledge was really helpful when we asked for recommendations and he did not disappoint! 10/10 would recommend to anyone

I walked in on my own, not dressed for a dining experience. Was greeted by the manager Donald and was told 15 minutes wait. Within 10 minutes I was seated. It was at that moment I realised how I was dressed compared to almost everyone else in the room. The staff were all brilliant, not one side look or eye lift. They treated me like everyone else, which relaxed me immediately. My waiter Ryan talked me through the options over 2 visits and instead of recommending the most expensive option he suggested something that was best suited for me. That is the sign of a good waiter. The food was absolutely fantastic, steak cooked to perfection (didn’t take photos of it) If I ever get a chance to go back again I’ll drive over you to get there. Thank you all P.S anyone from Lancashire or Yorkshire, what they call beef dripping sauce is what we call gravy 😂😂

Great service from Martin here at Miller and Carter. It was our first time here and we were really well looked after by our host. He went above and beyond and the food was lovely. I would definitely come back. Martin without a doubt made our visit very special, he was very attentive and genuinely cared about his customers. It was really nice to experience and see.

Always had a really good meal here and to an extent tonight was no exception. However , it was my son’s 21st birthday and I phoned before we arrived to request a small cake at the end of the meal, and we also mentioned his birthday to the waiter, but nothing happened. Also, our order was wrong cos my son got a rib eye instead of a sirloin. The food was nice as always, and the waiter was friendly and helpful, but the whole experience was not quite up to the high standards as expected.

Great meal had by all. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Our waitress Mags was lovely. I mentioned it was my sons birthday and his desert came out with happy 18th birthday. This was a lovely touch.

Stevie was polite and had a great sense of humour! The T-Bone with lobster tail was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing would definitely recommend.

Server was friendly and very pleasant, Donna. My husband and I really enjoyed the food. Good wine and drinks selection. Especially liked the option of coffee and mini dessert. Pleased to see an option to offer help to homeless people too. Would like more info about this though eg who is administering the contributions and possible option to Gift Aid. Overall the restaurant was warm, welcoming and enjoyable.

Service and food were great, but the Old Fashioned cocktail I ordered was basically straight bourbon served in a glass which was overfilled with ice. This ruined what was overall a pleasant experience.

We visited on New Year's Eve during part of the busiest time for dinner service. We had a fantastic experience, brought to life by Shannon. She was able to recommend courses and wine pairings and just made the evening feel extra special.

If I could give a 6/5 for service I would. Donna was absolutely lovely, great energy and service from her. Very attentive with gluten and dairy intolerance. The atmosphere was great as always

Had an amazing meal yesterday with my mum. This was my mums 1st visit to Miller and carter and she is look forward to going back. Our meal was delicious and the recommendations made by Darren our server were perfect. Darren was lovely and so helpful and made our visit even better.

This was my first visit to Miller and Carter and it was fantastic. Georgie was our steak expert and she was lovely and friendly. Talked us through the menu and was very attentive to see if there was anything else we needed throughout our visit. Very friendly and made out visit even more enjoyable.

The food itself is the selling point of miller & carter. We arrived an hour early for our booking & we were accommodated which was brilliant. We were a party of 4 and celebrating a special occasion. We ordered starters each & 2 x sharing steak platters. Firstly our starters were amazing & our service from our server Kevin was excellent. Our drinks were quick to arrive (a bottle of wine) which was poured for us at the table. Kevin was very pleasant. After our starters we received new cutlery & our salad wedge bowls came out. We ate these and put all our bowls together along with our used cutlery. The steak boards came out by a girl we hadn’t seen before (runner). She had blonde hair I didn’t catch her name, young. We waited 5 minutes for plates and new cutlery and also for our used bowls to be taken. By the time we got to our steaks they weren’t as hot as they would have been if we had been given plates before they had come out. There was a girl on the table beside us (runner) who brought a platter out with plates and cutlery prepared. She also informed customers beside us what cut of steak was what. Kevin then came over to advise he was changing over and Donna would be looking after us. Finally when we got round to eating, we enjoyed the food. When Donna came over to clear our plates when we finished she asked how it was. I explained to her the issue with plates & cutlery, I even made an excuse and said I understand it may be because of the service cross over that it isn’t normal to be waiting 5 minutes on plates and cutlery. She said that she was sorry BUT if we’d been before we should know that we should keep our cutlery we used for our salad wedge…. Not great customer service to be quite honest. I feel disappointed with the service Donna & the runner gave. It was a big let down especially when we paid over £250 for our meal and drinks. Not really 5* service blaming customers is it. Big shout out to the young girl with dark hair that was running tables beside us, she was brilliant and very pleasant & also to the hosts who are very pleasant on arrival & saying goodbye.

My experience for the first time at Miller & Carter St. Vincent Street was one to remember, especially turning 25 years young. Had a nice warm welcome from the staff member Chris, would just like to highly thank him for his nice greetings, service and overall manners and kindness. Would highly recommend this restaurant! Took our staff out for our annual end of year party. Brilliant food all around, and despite being quite a rowdy bunch, our server Ryan was fantastic. Professional, charming and oh so patient. We really had a brilliant night, many thanks guys.

Went for a post-Christmas date with my partner and everything from the food to the service was amazing. We were served by Stevie who did a 10/10 job of making us feel welcome and explaining the menu to us. He also gave us some great recommendations and was very attentive. We really wish we could have given a tip via the card machine as we don’t carry cash (it’s the 21st century). All the staff work really hard and deserve to be able to be tipped for this so the only thing I’d change would be to allow tips to be processed through the card machine.

Fab food and Kevin was very attentive.

1st visit to M&C, Shannon looked after us, excellent service.

Have been 3 times for Christmas Day lunch and always been good BUT Not this time. Waited 45 mins for starters which were good. Then main course- turkey balottene hot but everything else was cold. Roast potatoes were cremated ,carrots broccoli ,cauliflower cheese was so undercooked were rock hard-and I like them with a bit of bite and stone cold. Staff offered to heat it but it would have needed to be re cooked and we would now be late for family reunion.cheese cake only ok. Cheese just out of fridge and so unripe-I took it home and will be good in a couple of days . Manager took the bottle of wine off the bill. But we paid nearly £200 pounds for food that we could not eat. So disappointed ☹️ ☹️☹️

The ambiance, the atmosphere, the welcome, the friendly and competent staff and that’s before I mention the delicious food.

Absolutely amazing food, service and cleanliness. Everything was up to high standards. The food was absolutely delicious and is well worth the price. Chris, our server was tremendous, he was kinds and was not rushing us at all and complied with everything in a timely manner. Overall a great experience.

Only the second time here but all round, still ticks all the boxes. Staff are great and friendly, food tasty. The atmosphere combined with music and background chatter made for a great lunch. Recommend, remember to book.

Lovely staff, steaks are always cooked perfectly and very tasty. Recommend the tasting board we have every time we come so nice!

When we arrived, our booking was for 5:15, however the member of staff said it was 5:30. After showing him the booking confirmation (for 5:15) he reluctantly agreed that was correct and seemed put out to seat us. The place seemed busy but I wouldn’t say overly. When we were seated we waited about 10 minutes before being seen by any staff that was until a lovely man named “Ryan” I think? Spoke us through the menu, gave us his recommendations and took our drink order. Drinks took ages to come (Was only a water and an Irn Bru) however when our food came it was delicious, just felt like there would have been more. We had the Butchers Block between two of us and we were left still hungry. We had dessert too and was still left hungry! The waiter knocked £10 off our bill because of the long wait we had for our sides to come out. We also ordered two waters between us however we never received these. We paid the bill and sharply left. Good tasting steak, would recommend to others for a one off experience. We won’t be back unfortunately.
