A group of 20 friends having lunch. Food was excellent and drinks very keenly priced. Table only available for 2 hours as very busy.

This is a hidden gem . Went for lunch . Great choice with lunch menu and all 5 of us loved our choices . Food was very high quality and so reasonably priced . The lady who served us was new but was so nice and helpful. She could not have done a better job . We will be back . The haggis and the mussels were the star of the show but nothing was in any way disappointing . Don't pass on the sticky toffee pudding it is the nicest i have ever tasted

This is my second review (first one was taken down which has further fueled my annoyance). Came here with my wife who was insulted by the bespectacled guy for being Italian. Good old welcoming Scotland, eh? This place is now on my naughty list not just because of the comment he made but because they've went to TripAdvisor crying. Should have just took it on the chin that you'd messed up and apologised like decent human beings. But nah. Review taken down.

Had lunch here after the Glasgow Central Tour, friendly professional service, really tasty food. Loved the crofters pie, fish and chips and mussels. Will definitely return

We did a Virgin Experience Day with whisky pairing and had an absolutely lovely afternoon. Super food with lovely pairings. The waitress was just lovely, couldn't have been more helpful. Loved the Scottish music in the background, a lovely touch. A great find. Highly recommend.

I love this place, as does my partner. The food is always lovely. This time I had the Cullen Skink, which was the best I’ve ever had. I also had steak & sausage pie that was also great. My partner had haggis pakora and fish & chips. He loved both of them. To finish I had the sticky toffee pudding and my partner had the cheesecake. They were delicious. Service is always lovely and the atmosphere is cosy. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Average food, average drinks. Works Christmas lunch. Prawn cocktail okay - poor salad choice. Turkey dinner okay could have been warmer. Dessert average. Service wasn’t overly great and felt rushed.

4 of us had lunch (3 soup and 1 goats cheese croquette then 3 Haggis neeps and tatties and 1 steak and sausage pie then 2 apple pie and custard) plus drinks- excellent all round and the staff were very friendly and attentive-would definitely recommend as it’s very good value for money - wouldn’t hesitate to go back if in town.

Enjoyed a fantastic Saturday night at Mharsanta. Great atmosphere with excellent food and spot on service. Only issue I had was getting a booking. Called to restaurant in person mid afternoon at the end of November but was told by the young male member of staff that it was fully booked all day on both 9th & 16th December. Somewhat sceptical that this was accurate so checked on line and noted loads of availability! Maybe some staff require further training on the booking system or maybe some other issue?

We had the Christmas 2 course lunch which came as a messy main which looked like everything had been thrown on to the plate. Turkey came as a perfectly sliced and roundly formed piece of poultry which suggested it was pre-formed rather than fresh meat. Our 4 meals were cold and all our plates were sent back for reheating. This was done quickly by the staff who were very attentive and considerate. The Christmas pudding sweet was tiny and had a tablespoonful of custard on it. All in all very disappointing meal. Certainly not value for the hyped-up Christmas price.

We turned up without booking on a busy saterday night ,and the staff did all they could to get us a table, despite being very busy . We ordered the steak platter which was perfection ,scallops ,nice salad ,mushrooms and chips,this was really excellent food and far better than we have had anywhere before. This place is very much worth a visit ,staff where very attentive and efficient a credit to their employer. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience, well done all.

Having previously had a pleasant lunch here, was looking forward to a similar experience. Very disappointing. Had Sunday roast dinner. Beef was tough and roast potatoes seemed to be of the frozen variety. Expressed our disappointment to waitress who replied “let’s see if we can do better with dessert.” They didn’t! Sticky Toffee Pudding was 2 small squares of sponge cake with a chocolate sauce. No offer of a complimentary coffee or anything else. Won’t be back!
