This is a review of two visits, because it was so good the first time, we went back on our way back home at the end of our holiday. We were on holiday in Oban, and stopped here one of the days for breakfast. I had a roll with bacon, square sausage and tattie scone. Oh my god. Oh. My. God. I've had a lot of filled rolls in my life, right, so when I say this was the best filled roll I've ever had, I do not say so lightly. The flat white coffee was very good as well, actually. So we went back a few days later on our way home. I was super tempted to have two filled rolls (two fillings in each - bacon and tattie scone in one, square sausage and black pudding in the other), but I decided to go for the small Scottish breakfast instead. Again, I have had a lot of full Scottish breakfasts in my time (I make a point of trying to find the best ones), and this was right, right up there. Every element was great. I was particularly a fan of the fact that the scrambled egg wasn't too runny. The only thing stopping it from being the best ever was the lack of link sausages. The quality of ingredients is absolutely top-notch. The staff are friendly and attentive. Just superb.

Congratulations Poppies... you're my first review as a wheelchair user! Accessibility is fine, although you do have to negotiate the garden centre and the shop. Dining chairs are removable so you can sit properly at the table and not just be stuck on the end. The café is table service and the staff are attentive but not intrusive. We all had paninis. An extra bowl of chips was added for the table but, to be honest, there was enough salad and tortilla chips that came with the sandwiches anyway. The paninis themselves were great. Could've done with more cheese for my personal taste but Mum and Dad were fine with theirs. Sweet-wise there was a huge array on the counter, about half of which were gluten-free and/or vegan if that's your thing. The meringues were massive. We took some to go. Overall, Poppies is a great place for an upmarket lunch if you fancy more than just a bacon roll, or if you don't want to go all the way into Oban.

We had been so looking forward to visiting poppys as we always make a point of going when visiting oban. On arrival we were seated and given menus. My daughter asked if the only vegan options were those on the main menu and the server said there was a separate vegan menu, only to return straight away and say there wasn't a separate menu and the only options were those on the main menu. Just feel he should have known this. Anyway we ordered drinks and food (5 of us) and drinks arrived fairly promptly. Waited over an hour for food, but only 4 meals arrived. My husband had ordered the salmon scone but it still hadn't arrived by the time the rest of us had eaten. We were so fed up waiting by that time that didn't want to have another wait for it to be brought. Just decided we'd wait till paying and told the girl at till hadn't been an enjoyable experience. She got the manager who eventually deducted the price of the drinks from our bill (and the salmon scone of course). Made us feel like we were in the wrong for complaining.

I've lived in the Lochaber area for nearly 3 years and have passed Poppies a hundred times each time saying - " I need to go there" Finally, I did. What an amazing little shop, garden centre and cafe. The shop is just a mixture of fantastic furniture, gifts, glass wear, and plant pots. We browsed the shop while waiting for our take out lunch. The South African guy * forgot your name sorry *was just a delight and so helpful. I even carried my new tree back to my truck for me. Very chatty and friendly. Stopped for lunch here while enjoying Tobermory, we did not stay at the hotel. The restaurant is on the harbor and the inside is a traditional Scottish coastal heritage. Extensive menu with many seafood options. Full ball with a wide variety of local whiskeys. Service was excellent. Food was 3 stars only . Husband had the Cullen skink which had a lot of bones in it so he had a hard time with it. I had fish and chips, fish was only okay but the chips were awesome!

Stopped in for a pumpkin spice latte and cake. Gorgeous. The Gallery is a fantastic space and the girls were lovely.
