Absolutely fantastic!! I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going! The chefs coming to the table was a nice touch.

This is such a great restaurant, food was insane!!!! We left The Tudor Pass with a sense of awe, feeling that we'd just experienced not just a meal, but a journey through taste and artistry. If you’re seeking a Michelin-starred experience that truly lives up to its acclaim, The Tudor Pass is a must.

I was dining alone but this did not feel awkward in any way. The restaurant staff are welcoming and friendly and the restaurant has the feel of a private dining room. Exquisitely presented food, which tasted as good, if not better, than it looked. The personal service from the chefs was second to none with interesting information about the food and its history/origins. I would highly recommend a visit.

Alex Payne and his staff have created a wonderful dining experience. The food causes taste explosions in your mouth. You want each flavour to linger but you are also eager to sample the next tantalising dish. When each course was presented there was a description given personally by the Chef and some dishes also had an accompanying card with the history and source of the ingredients. The Sommelier, Rosie, was very knowledgeable and suggested some alternatives to our usual choices. My husband loved the Georgian wine, Saperavi, and has added it to his must buy list! The whole experience is enhanced by the kind attentions of the two front of house gentlemen. Excellent service from all. It was a memorable way to celebrate our 44th anniversary.

The dinner was part of our 40th Wedding anniversary. We had hoped to do this during the summer, but with the weather unpredictable we went in October. The Tudor pass was a present in the form of vouchers. The welcome in the Tudor and location was stunning- that said we were less sure about the hotel reception and cocktail team working at that level. Training was perhaps the reason. That aside we were warmed up by the front of house team - who teased us of what was to come.. The most excellently orchestrated master piece of seven course , plus a sneaky Chess course , little tasters and petit fours - were tantalising and a complete food package of joy. The seasonal food presentation and narrative was a scene setter - the food delicate delicate tastes- like foodie fireworks decorating your palate. The whole experience was memorable and a talking point all week The must go again is the question - and who to share this little joy.

We had the 7-course tasting menu, and every dish was phenomenal. Head chef Alex strikes a perfect balance between creativity and ingredients that are sourced locally. It was one of the best dinners we’ve had, and we are already looking forward to coming back next time.

Our experience at the Tudor Pass restaurant was impeccable in every way! Where do I start? The ambience was just perfect; the room was intimate and stylishly decorated. We were greeted by maitre d Chris who immediately wished my companion an happy birthday. While we were enjoying our champagne, Rosie (or Rosé as she likes to be known) assisted us with wine pairing. Each course was beautifully presented; from the amuse bouche to the cleverly paired petit fours! Each one presented lovingly by the creators in person (which was a wonderful touch) ! The colours, flavours and aromas were out of this world! The whole team were professional without being too formal, very personable and knowledgeable, and it was a real treat to be presented the fish course by Alex Payne himself! We will be back soon!!

Every single dish was delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to be welcoming and accommodating. We went to several tasting menu restaurants throughout our trip in England, and this was by far our favorite.

An outstanding meal incorporating traditional ingredients and recipes with a modern twist, accompanied by nice explanations from Head chef Alex and his Team and excellent front-of-house hospitality - we thoroughly enjoyed it and want to go back!

They provide the splendid atmosphere with the very good presentation of every courses . The food is tasty with very good price .

This was a wonderful culinary experience. We have dined at a few Michelin star restaurants and this is now our favourite. We had the 7 course taster menu and loved every single morsal. Me and my wife have visited The Tudor Pass 3 times now. This restaurant never fails. It’s intimate, cozy with pixel perfect service. The team is quite small and you get the feeling that they are all in it together. The head chef Alex will come out from time to time to front of house and present his food. So, to the food because this is what it’s all about. It’s all delicious. My wife asked me what my favourite dish was and I replied, ‘All of it’ because I couldn’t single out one particular dish. We’ve tried all sorts of posh nosh in our time and this restaurant takes the top spot because it’s all absolutely flipping delicious. Go to this restaurant because you won’t have a single shred of disappointment. I couldn’t recommend more highly. Thank you Alex and the team for an afternoon of sublime food. Damn that man can cook.

Fantastic dinner with excellent service. Well deserving of its Michelin star. Each course was creative, prepared perfectly, and presented with a full explanation (some courses had accompanying poems or stories). We had the 4-course menu which was way more than 4 courses. We cannot wait to go back.

Four of us had an absolutely wonderful tasting lunch at the Tudor Pass this week. The room has limited covers but is not crowded. Every course was a carefully-crafted and inventive delight with the ingredients and cooking explained by Alex or one of his charming staff. We have all had experiences over many years of top restaurants in France but none better than this. The piped music (which we dislike anywhere) was turned down and then off at our request which we appreciated. We have two small suggestions for future consideration. Firstly, the pre-dessert could be substituted by a small cheese course. Secondly, the wine list is limited and needs expansion (we understand from the sommelier that this is already under consideration).

Always a fabulous trip for your tastebuds to experience Alex Payne’s menus. The somilier gives a choice of 2 wine pairing menus too. One for the brave that want to experience a different drinking journey and one that you know is gonna be good too. Great team with Luke, the other sis chef and managed by Chris the lovely maitre d. Highly recommend anyone to go and try the tasting menu.

Having thought about going to the Tudor pass for some time now we eventually got there to celebrate my birthday. We could only rate our experience with 5 stars. From start to finish it was a wonderful evening. The dinning room is very intimate with a relaxed environment. Chris and his team were so welcoming. Each course was presented by one of the 3 chefs which is a nice touch. We would recommend it to our family and friends and hope to return again soon. Excellent!!

It is some time since we have dined in a Michelin starred restaurant so we decided to try Alex Payne’s at the Tudor Pass at Great Fosters. The setting is a wonderful old manor with lots of character and superb surroundings which is now a small hotel. We chose the 7 course tasting menu which was an amazing culinary delight. Each course was carefully put together to delight the taste buds with little twists that made it all a magical experience. The service was also first class including the explanation of each course by Alex or his fellow chefs. It is well worth a visit and we will certainly return.

Firstly, what a historical setting to be in to enjoy modern British cuisine. Lovely contrast and super comfortable. Spacious and intimate at the same time. Tasting menu is outstanding and builds in intensity and flavour. Alex and his talented team will make you not want the meal to end! Lovely winelist with some little gems (like Joseph Phelps Insignia 2013... hard to resist!) and an excellent wine pairing by Sommelier Rosie. We look forward to returning soon!

When we arrived, we was asked who was driving. So I advised that I was and then the waitress asked if I wanted one or zero glasses, so advised her zero. My wife was given the full menu and asked what she wanted. However my wife felt pressurised to drink alcohol and this made us both feel very uncomfortable. The waiter advised that they will give us some snacks, which all the four snack dishes were very tasty. Some  rememberable dishes was the beetroot and horseradish sorbet, one of my top three favourite dishes. We had Turbot and morel mushrooms and then warm lamb cutlet and cold  asparagus - which was the best and our favourite dish. We also had a rhubarb based dish which was extremely tasty, after the chef told us to wait 30 seconds, as it would be too cold, this was our third favourite dish. In addition we had 65% Cuban chocolate and armagnac, which you could taste the strong chocolate.  There was a surprise for the final dish, which looked like the snacks at the beginning, but were all dessert, so a deja vu dish. I must say the service was excellent. Plus the chefs brought out each dish and explained about them. A really gem of a restaurant...

What an incredible experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is calm, quiet and elegant, the staff are incredibly knowledgable and friendly, and the food is incredible and offers a one-of-a-kind experience.

The night we went was quite with only one other table of four. This did not detract in the slightest from our enjoyment of one of the finest dining experiences we have had. Worthy of more than it's one Michelin star. The stunning seven course tasting menu was preceded with sublime amuse bouche and capped off with delightful petit four.
